Arrow - Episode 3.16 - The Offer - Latest from TVLine

Thanks to Koky for the heads up.

When Arrow returns this Wednesday (The CW, 8/7c), Oliver’s response to Ra’s al Ghul’s offer that the archer replace him as the leader of the League of Assassins will be not unlike that of viewers: “Confusion. Interest. And pondering,” star Stephen Amell previews.
After that, he’ll soon make his choice, which will be impacted by a certain blonde’s recent change in romantic status.

But first, Oliver’s friends and family will weigh in with their own highly emotional opinions after they learn of the baddie’s proposal.

“The entire team is shocked and can’t believe it,” co-star Colton Haynes says. Their outraged reaction is not unjustified, given that “Oliver keeps going and leaving us and saying he’s going to come back and we don’t really know if he is going to come back.”
One member of Team Arrow has a particularly hard time dealing with the news. “It’s really worrisome for Felicity because she loves him,” Haynes shares. “She’s torn between him and Ray.”

  1. I gotta admit, I'm way past tired of this whole "Let's make Oliver as miserable as possible" storyline. They distanced him from the team, made him seem like the bad guy when he was really just trying to protect the only family he has left, and the one person who has any ability to get through to him can't seem to talk to him without being bitter. And if spoilers are anything to go by, this is just going to get worse.

  2. I really hope they thought this through! The 4Ts!
    Should be an interesting episode.

  3. I can't decide if I want to say "poor Oliver he can't really say no and go against Ra's not to mention that his life sucks so much everyone is turning on him :("
OR "DAMN IT OLIVER WHAT ARE YOU EVEN THINKING ABOUT?! Of course you have to say no. Seriously writers enough is enough"

I'm leaning more towards the latter.

  4. You know reading your comment was enough for me. I didn't want to read this since the episode airs tonight. So thanks Adrian, by sparing me some type of misery from this article.

  5. Oh mac is going to have a field day with this. Oliver considers joining LoA because Felicity slept with someone else. Excellent story telling.

I didn't read it, please tell me that's not exactly true... I'll skip it and wait for comments otherwise, and then decide if I want to watch based on the reactions reaction. It wouldn't be a first for me...

  7. Not completely. It says we will be surprised by his decision making process and Felicity and Ray's relationship is one of the factor for it. *sigh*

Oh god... it's not his best friend death, his mother's death, Sara dying twice because of him, or the fact that he is failling the city. The reason why he joins the league is because Felicity chose another guy. Seriously!!! I don't know why I'm so shocked, at least is in character, he was always guided by his Little head.
    PS: Sorry for the rant!

  9. I flat-out resent the fact that they've chosen to tie this monumental decision, even if it's just in part, to Felicity sleeping with Ray. That further undercuts the integrity of the character, his mission, and the show.

  10. He's not the only one who has a problem with it.

  11. In an alternate reality, Ollie does become Ra's al Ghul and his first act in the role is to kill Ray.

  12. I think this is the point, though. Ollie's entire identity crisis is going to get much worse before it gets better. He's become so miserable and it has everything to do with him not being both The Arrow and Oliver Queen. As soon as he decided to just be one, it was only going to get worse to the point where now he doesn't think he's been helping as The Arrow either.

  13. just because it is a factor don't mean anything.........it a minor decision factor tjhere will be something bigger like Thea

    ReplyDelete
  14. who cares? it minor and we know he won't take the offer no matter what

  15. Oh even I have a huge problem with it but mac's comments will be fun to read. I will be annoyed if Felicity's new relationship is made a huge factor into this episode. It could be another case of Guggenheim trolling and Oliver's reaction to her and Palmer will be a small reason among other big issues the boy has.

  16. I am sure MG is just trolling Olicity fans. I am sure it would be a small thing among all the other big issues home boy has.

  17. So I am not the only one who believes Oliver won't take the offer. I have seen so many comments stating he will accept. He is the hero he will never accept to be next Ra's.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I think so too. But MG being himself had to make it sound like Felicity's love life is a huge factor. He is a troll.

  19. I like that reality haha

  20. LOL, thanks for the laugh. :) And again, I'm glad I'm waiting to watch it.

  21. Even I have a problem with it and at this point I suspect even DarkUFO knows how much I ship Olicity lol

I deeply hope so... like I already said this isn't tbtb, most of the audience don't watch because of the romantic subplots, please keep them to a minimum.

  23. I think that considering it's on the CW, that's a pretty unlikely scenario that they're going to do that. You're just gonna have to deal with it I suppose, I mean, it's not any weirder than the weird circle this entire season went just because of Malcolm, who is now pretty much the only one who got what he wanted, again, by being alive.

I don't think either that Oliver is ever going to take the offer, but then again, this show has had moments with weird simple shock value moments before.

I already hope that season 4 is for once going to be different, because we've had multiple season now of Oliver constantly making the same mistake and listening to the obvious bad guys, and always making the wrong decisions when it comes to the people close to him. It would be nice if he got his head out of his arse, lol.

  24. we'll know the answer next week? wow that's surprising

    ReplyDelete
  25. you know it's kind of scary if Barry goes back in time and saves his mom, Oliver WOULD die

    ReplyDelete
  26. Maybe he does but at the min felicity change his mind

    ReplyDelete
  27. Oh no... Please don't make this about Olicity. This show was so much better before all that stuff happened.

    ReplyDelete
  28. But he also wouldn't be there to help them find Gold in the first place.

    ReplyDelete
  29. And the character of Felicity is further reduced.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Again too fan fictiony for me. I am sure every one of the team mates will have a negative opinion to Ra's offer. But in the end it should be Oliver who has to come to the conclusion he cannot be Ra's.
