  1. Damon seem so hurt. However Elena is right. It's not about him, it's about Liz and Caroline. I wonder why Caroline couldn't write it? I guess maybe Liz felt it would be too much for her. I think Liz should have ask Matt to write her eulogy instead of Damon. She knew him longer then she known Damon.

    ReplyDelete
  2. but Damon seemed to have more of a connection, weirdly enough sort of like a mother-son relationship

    ReplyDelete
  3. poor Damon, that's a huge burden but a great honor to have. This is definitely happening isn't? Liz is really gone and they're going to her funeral and wow Caroline how are you not a complete and total wreck?

    ReplyDelete
  4. Caroline rather facing Stefan than her grief, should be a sign of how bad she is. That pushy talk with Stefan won't end well, hoping for Stefan to turn it around with his "insightful" sight.
Delena's non dramatic situation is refreshing! Loving them currently. But don't think JP will let it be.

  5. Clip #1 - Nice clip. Damon does need the occasional reminder that not everything is about him. He and Elena have that in common.
Clip #2 - Caroline's attempt at deflecting is obvious. I don't want to deal with my mom's death so I obsess about something else.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I agree about Caroline. The fact she is trying to keep herself so busy just shows she will want to deal with anything other than her grief of losing her mom. The kiss with Stefan happens to be another great distraction from that grief as well.

I think it is similar to episode 6x13 when she wants to go look for Ms. Cuddles. Bonnie was in another reality, her mom was dying of cancer and Ms. Cuddles was buried somewhere in the woods. She couldn't do anything about two of those situations so she did something about the bear. In this case, there is nothing she can really do about the fact that her mom has died but she can do something about talking to Stefan about the kiss.

  7. so how big of a blowup should we expect?

    ReplyDelete
  8. i have a horrible feeling of how Caroline will end the episode, no Damon and Elena deserve just being relaxed and happy with each other

    ReplyDelete
  9. Give me some examples. From where did you glean this 'mother and son' bond? I am respectfully curious.

    ReplyDelete
  10. on #2: is that normal for anyone grieving or is that exclusive to Caroline?

    ReplyDelete
  11. from when she found about basically everything

    ReplyDelete
  12. Deflection and general avoidance is common when grieving. It's definitely not just a Caroline thing.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That's a good question. In my opinion, I don't think Caroline will go as far as to turn off her emotions.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's from the showrunners' comments. I don't know how many sons repeatedly comment on their mothers' hotness, but I guess I'm behind on times.

    ReplyDelete
  15. God!!! Idk what's going on here, but i'm getting soooo tired of NOT being able to watch these clips!!! I mean wtf!! Everytime i press play it WON'T PLAY!! Either one video plays and not the other!!! WTH!!!! I can't watch the second clip!! I press play and IT DOESN'T START!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  16. Yeah, I don't agree with Plec and Dries on that relationship being remotely maternal. If anything they were friends, and the idea that she was a mother figure to him is kinda creepy considering how often he flirted with her.

I think they want to suggest it was a surrogate mother-son type deal to contrive some kind of parallel between Liz and the Salvatores mother, which seems like it's leading into something.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Most relationships on this show are not very conventional. For example, some of the hugs that Jeremy gave Elena seemed to be a bit more than brotherly. Ha ha.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Maybe, but at the very least they never actually called it so on the show (... so far). Seeing this as maternal completely ruins their dynamic for me, so I'm grateful at least for that.

    ReplyDelete
  19. i really REALLY want to disagree LOL but can't, it's probably the character's chemistry

    ReplyDelete
  20. That kind of thing is crazy common on TV, though. It's way worse with Thea and Oliver on Arrow for instance, and if you really want to get creeped out, go check out the first couple seasons of Beverly Hills 90210. Brenda and Brandon are twins who are almost constantly eye-sexing each other.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Huh, I never noticed. Maybe their hugs always got overshadowed for me by the Alaric/Elena ones. Or maybe it was Matt Davis' twitter.

    ReplyDelete
  22. so you thinking Mama Salvatore is the opposite of Liz? a cold, manipalitive, evil woman?

    ReplyDelete
  23. you're kidding right?

    ReplyDelete
  24. To be honest, I only ever really noticed when other people had commented on their hugs. I chuckled, but I didn't actually think anything of it because I know that they were just portraying a brother and sister hugging.

    ReplyDelete
  25. ah, ok well it hard thing to deal with

    ReplyDelete
  26. I don't know if this will bring you any comfort, but imo you can rest easy - at the end of this episode, everybody will be just fine. Boring, but fine.

    ReplyDelete
  27. i've seen this somewhere else to: on Wizards of Waverly Place, with Alex and Justin, they're brother and sister but damned if they don't seem more than that, especially in the first movie

    ReplyDelete
  28. It happens to me too sometimes. Refreshing sometimes helps.

    ReplyDelete
  29. at least they'll have Bonnie back, that's a good thing right? except Bonnie will have PTSD

    ReplyDelete
  30. I think with the cancer being terminal and Caroline knowing it for a while she has had a bit of an opportunity to prepare for what has happened. She often put her grief off the the side but I think by last episode she knew it was coming. Especially with setting up the cabin for her mom to spend the rest of her days at.

I think it would seem out of character for her to have such a big revelation that her mom is gone forever that she would turn her emotions off. I could be wrong, but that's what I am thinking.

    ReplyDelete
  31. How did Caroline describe herself when she first became a vampire "neurotic control freak on crack" - Wow, Caroline is all over the place and in complete denial. Nice to see Elena's got the 411 on grieving and is noticing Caroline's unusual behavior. I think I read that Bonnie comes back late this episode Caroline is going to need all friends on deck to help her maintain her humanity.

Absolutely, loved Elena's encouragement and support of Damon writing the eulogy. They are so great together.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Not necessarily. We know Damon regrets not attending his mothers funeral or giving her a eulogy, so this is probably just a bit of development for him.

Longer shot: They're setting up a twist down the line. I believe this is the first time they've even mentioned their mother and they've wrung the bell a few times now.

    ReplyDelete
  33. true, she's been preparing for it, but preparing and having it finally happen are two different things

    ReplyDelete
  34. Here's hoping. Given how on TVD PTSD and/or grief = sex, things are looking up for Bonnie already.

    ReplyDelete
  35. but if she IS alive and a vampire you know what happens to vampires, if they don't have something to hold on to their humanity

    ReplyDelete
  36. Nah. It's pretty common for the chemistry to be a bit weird because it takes subtlety to separate out platonic affection and attraction.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I also liked that Elena knew that the eulogy is particularly important for Caroline's sake.

    ReplyDelete
  38. ...now I'm wishing Jeremy would come back, so I could chuckle too.

    ReplyDelete
  39. yeah Bonnie comes back at the end of the episode but she'll have PTSD, so i don't think she'll be much help, and i loved Elena helping Damon with this, this has been great

    ReplyDelete
  40. Interesting and almost fun to see Damon struggle with this. I am glad to see him sticking with it and skipping out. All I can say is Poor Caroline - Wow, just look at the trauma in her face. This is going to be a hard episode to watch but I am glad they are giving use these human moments with these supernatural creatures.

    ReplyDelete
  41. wow, did YOU find yourself wishing they weren't twins?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Could be.

She was married to a man who hated Vampires so much that he would murder his own sons for even consorting with them. It's possible she's survived as a witch and thinks like her husband, although that might be too similar to the Esther arc on The Originals.

Chances are she's dead and it's just a bit of character work for Damon, though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I found myself wishing Brandon would get hit by a truck.

    ReplyDelete
  44. what do you mean skipping out? he's going to do the eulogy

    ReplyDelete
  45. Right - it is so very interesting to see these supernatural creatures struggle with human emotions - this is so rare on TVD - I am truly going to enjoy this episode - it is going to be a real tear jerkier.

    ReplyDelete
  46. how would she be a witch? she would have to be born one, it's not like Buffy when you can just learn magic out of nowhere which always bothered me

    ReplyDelete
  47. Right - and for me that shows how far Damon has come - do you remember when he was discussing his mothers eulogy with Liz - he skipped out and never even went to the funeral. Nice to see him man-up. We rarely get to see him in this uncomfortable situations.

    ReplyDelete
  48. graphic LOL, but the actors can't really help that can they

    ReplyDelete
  49. Sadly, I agree. Mama is just a ruse. There's so little going on story wise, that now I actually want to see more of Enzo.

    ReplyDelete
  50. GASP! you want to see more of Enzo? LOL

    ReplyDelete
  51. wait i'm confused you said he's skipping out on LIZ'S funeral and yeah Damon Salvatore has really changed and him battling with his "nice" side is funny

    ReplyDelete
  52. They're on Youtube - just search there (that's what I do). I don't like this site's way of uploading videos.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Exactly! That's how bad my outlook on TVD's future has gotten. Eh... maybe they'll surprise me.

    ReplyDelete
  54. It was to be expected of those "writers" but its so disgusting that Steroline will dominate Liz's funeral. Can't Liz's death be about Caroline and not involve Stefan?

    ReplyDelete
  55. you know she's dealing with EVERYTHING else BUT her mom because she's hiding her pain

    ReplyDelete
  56. yeah its not at all the writers thirst to force steroline at every opportunity

    ReplyDelete
  57. Why couldn't she have been born a witch? We know nothing about her and Mystic Falls did have a witch population.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I'm suspicious: since when is Elena nice and supportive to her friends? I haven't see her acting like this since she became a vampire and have a hard time to buy it. Is she reverting to her old compassionate self? For which purpose?

    ReplyDelete
  59. well its obviously to help force steroline ;)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Wouldn't Stefan and Damon be witches then too? They probably would've noticed.

    ReplyDelete
  61. think whatever you want, i see it as her not dealing with it

    ReplyDelete
  62. Finally, i see it. Poor Care. Trying to distract herself. Elena you could be a little persistent and say something else!! I mean it wouldn't stop her, but at least hold her back a little longer.

    ReplyDelete
  63. They're not always on youtube.(well not both) sometimes i have to go to Fb and check, or find some other link altogether. And yes, i do too.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yeah sometimes refreshing does help, but not all the time. It's frustrasting.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I for one am glad Damon is writing it for 2 reasons - 1) to atone for his sins of skipping out on his own mothers funeral and never delivering the eulogy. This shows amazing character growth for Damon and 2) I think Liz knew that Caroline would stress over what to say and Caroline always be worried it was not perfect or good enough. I think it gave Liz a certain amount of piece of mind knowing Caroline was going to have enough on her plate to deal with.

    ReplyDelete
  66. IIRC, Damon was 25 and Stefan was 17 when they were turned. The Originals just mentioned that Elijah, who I believe was meant to be older, had no mastery of his power at all before he became a vampire. It's not out of the realm of possibility that they were left in the dark and had no inkling of their nature until they were turned and lost it. At the very least, I wouldn't put it past the TPB to slip that by.

Like I said, though, they probably aren't going this route at all.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I think Elena knows Car. by now and any amount of resistance may send her over the edge. I remember loosing a closed loved one and your emotions are all over the place from deep sorrow to wanting to pick a fight and being so angry. I expect the entire MF gang to rally around her (I hear even Bonnie will be back - just when she is needed the most). It will be nice to see them all come together for a worthy cause.

    ReplyDelete
  68. the MIkaelsons din't have powers, only Kol knew and used it because he was a prodigy

    ReplyDelete
  69. Huh, maybe. I doubt it too, though. My bet is Mama Salvatore is a no show.

    ReplyDelete
  70. yeah basically and Bonnie might be good right now but after this she won't be in a good place

    ReplyDelete
  71. she obviously meant "not skipping out"

    ReplyDelete
  72. True about the emotions. But i'd still try. Try and calm her down best way i could, not just let her breeze by. If she wanted air that's one thing. Then i'd leave her. But Elena stays silent like she does. smh (that look she does annoys me sometimes)..And i wasn't happy with the Bonnie news, if in fact it is true. It really didn't do anything for me.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Deflection and avoidance is normal. When my dad died my coping mechanism was sex and weed, not the healthiest but at some point had to deal with the pain cos I was kinda spiralling for a few months.

    ReplyDelete
  74. So Elena appears to be taking the "I kissed Stefan" comment by Caroline all in stride and focusing her concerns on her friends well being as expected. Reminds me of the old human Elena - nice to see her compassion surfacing.

    ReplyDelete
  75. This must be why Elena gets worried about Caroline, who is using "the talk" with Stefan to distract herself from the funeral. Why not? Caroline has been waiting to get together with Stefan for what, 5 years? Stefan is 170 years old. He should know how to put off the talk, or handle an awkward one, in a tactful way. I can understand why Elena wouldn't want to get too involved, being the ex-girlfriend and all.

I don't know why people think that campaigning for a Delena wedding will automatically lead to one. They pushed for a rain kiss, and all they got was a flashback that Elena doesn't even remember. There was a mythological basis for the wedding on TO, but there has never been a reason for two vampires to get married. Either they'll be together forever or they won't. Something tells me it's Elena's nurturing behavior that triggers Damon's memories of his mother. As far as Elena's change in behavior getting explained, I think the sire bond will be brought up again, or something along those lines. Elena had feelings for Damon when she was human, so she became sired to him when she became a vampire and those feelings were heightened. Elena believed the sire bond was broken completely when her humanity switch turned off, but even Damon questioned what would happen when her emotions came back on again. I think when Elena's humanity turned on again, she still did everything Damon wanted or expected her to do, even things that hurt him, but no one noticed because Damon subconsciously didn't want to see evidence of a lingering sire bond. I think with the compulsion, Elena and Alaric found a way to break the sire bond. Even if the compulsion is broken, Elena will still have too many feelings and memories to be a good match for Damon romantically. A proposition isn't a proposal. I think Elena getting a "proposition" means that someone will want to make a deal with her. I'm interested in what it'll be, and if it happens in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I already posted my theory about this above. I don't think it's an act. It's the real Elena.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Agree. Show, don't tell and that too in interviews and that too this late into the show's run and that too without any canon to back up this claim of mother/son bond. IMO, the boys mother is coming and so in a ham handed way the writers are pushing this 'out of the blue/ suddenly found' mother/son bond between Damon and Liz.

I buy them as tentative friends. But to exaggerate it so much such irritates me very much.

    ReplyDelete
  78. i'm missing the point of your reply because there's no connection between my post and yours....

    I presume you're a disappointed shipper: Klaus/Caroline or Caroline/Enzo.
They're the only one dishonest enoughto dismiss the most healthy relationship on the show and to pretend that it's forced while Stefan/Caroline have in fact the oldest relationship of the show. One very progressively built and very respectful.

    ReplyDelete
  79. Amber, what's truly ironic is that not one of your hundred posts about Liz' death have actually been about Liz.,,,,they've all been about how much you dislike Stefan's involvement. The writers aren't the ones making Liz' death about Stefan and Steroline. You are. You've been using Liz's death as an excuse to rant about Stefan and Steroline and then you accuse the writers of doing exactly what you're doing.

    ReplyDelete
  80. Yeah, I don't see any jealously there. I was wondering they were going to go down the Stelena path again and have a Stefan/Caroline/Elena triangle for a while, but it doesn't look like it.

    ReplyDelete
  81. The first sneak peek reminds us once again why these two are perfect for each other!
2nd one shows typical caroline which makes us annoyed and love her character even more!

    ReplyDelete
  82. i´m dishonest? because i don´t agree with your views! okey then, i guess i didn´t get the memo that stated your opinion was more valid than mine

    ReplyDelete
  83. Jordana please to tell me what should i have written about liz specifically other than the fact i think its obvious to everyone who watched this season is that she died so stefan could deem caroline bangable?

Should i have written about her cancer in medical details or how caroline should have been the focus not everyone else or how its pathetic and even more disgusting that carolines abuser is giving the eulogy etc would that have made it better for you and oh last time i checked i´m not a writer for TVD so what on earth should i be writing comments on a discussion board other than my opinions.

Liz´s death has been from start to finish all about steroline and truly if you can´t see that through your own shipper goggles you are just as guilty of what i´m not even sure what you are accusing me off other than disagreeing with your holy opinion.

So i´m sorry Jordana that i dont agree with you and the rest of the delena stans that steroline is the greatest thing ever when its not and your constant pro steroline/delena comments is just as bad as me thinking its disgusting to use a death to prob up a ship

    ReplyDelete
  84. This may sound strange but I wonder if Damon needs to know once and for all if Elena is fully committed to him by her agreeing to marry him? Yes, he loves her and wants to be with her forever but he keeps going back to this doubt about if she was human, would they be together. Women have been doing it for centuries - needing that piece of paper - to be certain they are in a fully committed relationship. Just because we have not seen a marriage on this show does not mean that vampires could not get married - marriage is a human thing to do and we know vamps try and avoid those pesky human things. But we have seen vamps Rose and Trevor commit to each other and stay together as friends/ comrades for all of their vamp lives.

I did read an article the other day where JP said that Jer. is invited back to the show any time especially for funerals, weddings etc...But, I think you are right the Proposition does not have to do with a marriage proposal.

I really hope we never hear about the "sire bond" again.

    ReplyDelete
  85. JP Said that Bonnie comes in at a time that lifts everyone's spirits. I am really looking forward to Bonnie's homecoming and the girls getting together especially during the high of recent emotional turmoil

    ReplyDelete
  86. actually Trevor and Rose were siblings

    ReplyDelete
  87. I think we have different interpretations of Damon and Elena's human vs. vampire discussion. Damon has stated many times over two seasons that he has no insecurities about Elena and Stefan. Kai said something that made Elena wonder if there was any doubt, or if she should feel any doubt, which she quickly resolved by saying "I'm a vampire now," and assuring Damon that her choices as a human no longer matter. Damon has already known this for years. The problem isn't Damon's insecurity because he's too egotistical to have any. It's the fact that Elena is acting more and more human while Damon prefers her as the vampire willing to throw him at a wall and rip his clothes off at any time. Real Elena who cares about all of her friends, not just Damon, and prefers to show affection by hugging Damon and kissing him on the cheek, may not be compatible with Damon in a relationship. Elena is a nice girl. True that nice girls get drawn to bad boys, but the bad boys eventually get tired of them and move on. Damon wouldn't still be a well-liked character if he wasn't still a bad boy, and bad boys aren't the marrying kind. Bad boys who are vampires want nothing to do with human rituals. That's why Damon is frustrated about writing a eulogy. He's capable of being nice, but that doesn't mean he's good.

    ReplyDelete
  88. Elena just appears to be healthier all around - finding purpose in her life, volunteering at the hospital, supporting Jer. as big Sis, even her relationship with Damon appears to be better I think she has finally accepted who she is and what she wants out of life. When she first became a vampire her emotions were heightened, she hated what she had become and spent so much time trying to revert back to her human form. Next the the sire bond. She then had the summer of her life with Damon (which we only had a glimpse) then it was off to college Augustine, Katherine body swapping and Damon dying. I wonder with her memories erased if she now has the freedom to be successful and chose who she wants to be with w/o the guilt and pressure defending her relationship. Damon noticed that she was thriving and he was spot on. Plus having the satisfaction of helping sick people may have had a profound impact on her.

    ReplyDelete
  89. I thought Rose referred to Trevor as her oldest friend. When was it confirmed they were siblings?

    ReplyDelete
  90. Hey Sarah - I guess I saw the exchange between Damon / Elena different. I clearly see insecurities coming through when he tells Elena that Matt was taking human Elena back to Stefan and once she changed into a vampire he was back in the picture or when he tells Elena the only reason she sounds so certain about their relationship because she can't change who she is. It appears that Kai had gotten in both their heads initially.

I agree Damon has an ego but Stefan can bring out his most vulnerable insecurities.

Damon said once that he was good with Elena human or vamp. so I take him at his word. But, yes he would prefer to have an eternity with her then just 1 human lifetime.

Damon is fiercely loyal he waited over 100 yrs to be with Katherine and it was not real love so he is not about to give up any time soon on Elena. And Elena, that glimmer of hope she continues to have that is her deep love for this man which has not wavered - I remember her telling Matt way back in S3 that no matter what she does she can't shake Damon and Matt replies that "I think once you fall in love with someone - you can never shake them".

Damon the Bad Boy - Even Bad Boys can be tamed by the right women - I see Elena being that women.

Good Damon - Not likely but I do see redeeming qualities emerging. Damon truly and completely in love for the first time in his entire life would be worth watching.

    ReplyDelete
  91. The false idea of a girl being able to change a bad boy is the reason why there are Delena shippers. Girls, or even older women who have had bad luck with relationships, project their own inner desires onto fictional characters. There's definitely a psychology to shipping.

    ReplyDelete
  92. Stelena, Delena, Steroline, I have enjoyed them all. However, with regards to Delena, I don't see a girl trying to change a boy, more about what Rose had said - they change and challenge each other to be better in all aspects of their relationship. I have simply enjoyed the show these past 6 seasons and the hope for redemption and development in these crazy supernatural characters.

    ReplyDelete
  93. Hey Shannon - when I have trouble I sometimes go to TVD wiki - I usually have success at either of these 2 sites.

    ReplyDelete
  94. You know I read an article recently where JP said that they had planned on killing Liz off so many times but they decided not to for the simple reason she provided depth to Caroline's character - Ouch. So the fact that this is all about Caroline does not surprise me. That is how they decided to use this character - but Liz's performance has been outstanding - she really has out shined this entire cast of characters.

    ReplyDelete
  95. As much as a I hated Liz' death, I think that the writers did a great job paying tribute to her over the past few weeks and her last scene with Caroline actually made me cry. You may have been fuming over Stelena and Delena during that entire time, but neither of those things factored into her death for me, because I really liked Liz as a character. I can't tell you to post something that you aren't feeling, but Liz had a great relationship with a lot of characters so I like that the writers chose to highlight that in the past few weeks. To you, they were making it about those other characters. To me, it was about Liz and why she will be missed by so many people. The funny thing was that I actually never said anything in support of Damon or Stelena in my post, but once again, you assumed that anyone who disagrees with you must be wearing shipper goggles or must be a Delena "stan" which is actually not true in my case.

If it makes you feel better to keep spamming hundreds of threads with the exact same comment about Liz dying to prop up Damon or Stefan, post away, but after reading your 100th post on the topic, I can't help thinking that your resentment has more to do with your intense dislike for Damon or Steroline and less to do with Liz. I'm guessing that any scenario that highlighted these characters would bring about some objection from you (I sometimes feel that way about Delena), but I think it's fine to just say you don't like them, instead of blaming them for every plot development. In a show that that's , they really don't need to kill off a character to make any relationship happen.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Yes - thanks for the correction - "Not" skipping out.

    ReplyDelete
  97. OK - I have another crazy theory - do you think Elena catches Caroline trying to extract more memories from Liz? But, because she is gone/dead they are actually dark? Or Caroline delays burying her Mom, because she wants to keep living in her memories? Now that would be Caroline going off the deep end for sure. It is almost like how Elena kept taking drugs to hallucinate Damon - she was just pressing pause.

    ReplyDelete
  98. hmmm i think u just drove way past the reservation ! ! lol ! come back to us darling. COME BACK !

but yeh maybe she might delay burring her mom...but not to live in her memories, don't think thats possible after the person is dead. She may just have a hard time letting go :(

    ReplyDelete
  99. omg seriously, thats like the only thing u ppl can say against this ship. I think its time to quit the whining girl friend. You really sound like a broken record ! we have discussed this over n over and u still don't get it. U ppl either have selective amnesia or ur watching some other show. coz the show i'm watching has given caroline n stefan the slowest burn possible in the most organic and realistic way possible and nothing is forced. SO get over your sunken ship already !

    ReplyDelete
  100. thank u for that ! AS A STEROLINE SHIPPER - I APPROVE. AS A LIZ FAN - I APPROVE.

    ReplyDelete
  101. Thank you! That's what I wanted to say. I don't see a girl trying to change a bad boy either. I see two people who bring out the best in eachother. Damon changed Elena too. I think she was much more life-loving and fun before her parents died and Damon brought that girl (or at least a part of her) back. Elena seems more happy and alive since she admited her feelings for Damon.
And that's also the reason I ship Steroline. They bring out the best in eachother too! Stefan never seemed more himself than when he is with Caroline.

    ReplyDelete
  102. I also read that. Liz's last scene with Damon was heartbreaking. It was beautifully written and even better executed. They really captured the pain of letting go, of being a decent human and suffering such a terrible faith.
Can't wait to see in which direction this will push Caroline and her whole world.

    ReplyDelete
  103. I'm not campaigning for it but Imo they're likely to get engaged this season bc 1) repeated use of Elena wanting 'forever' with Damon in 6x01 and 6x07 2) JP and Steven separately saying Jer could come back for a wedding 3) JP gives interviews/spoilers to TVline regularly and they just did an article on what couples should do next and said Delena should put a ring on it, IMO probably bc they already know it's gonna happen via JP.

  106. Yay...no Stefan/Caroline/Elena triangle. That's enough for me. Not a fan of Steroline but I can stand them, I just can't stand another damn triangle on this show ever again.
"I'm not a nice person." Agreed.
"You ARE nice." What the heck? O_o
    "-ish." Oh now that's better.
    Nice webclip though. :D

  107. Yeah seriously i think having to kill liz to make stefan see caroline in a romantic light and all things leading up to that is forced as hell and no matter what you think about that, thats just not gonna change. So i´m not clear on what i´m not getting here? is it not agreeing with you is that what bothers you?

I don´t have amnesia at all i remember everything that happend on TVD but i´m so happy you steroline stans are so concerned about be i´m dishonest cause i don´t like steroline, i´m not allowed to express opinions that you stans don´t agree with on a discussion board and now i ´ve amnesia cause i dont see it your way..... its like we are in North Korea here or something.

  109. I must say, I'm a little disappointed that Bonnie returns in this episode. She should have returned in the christmas episode or last episode. Caroline will be busy with her mom's death and the steroline-guilt. Damon will be focused on his eulogy. Jeremy is gone. Elena for once seems to care about Caroline (as it seems; they could always turn it around and make it about her again). So noone is interested in Bonnie. I guess that leaves the doors wide open for BonKai. And I'm not a fan of those kind of relationships. Especially since everything good Kai will feel, will be because of Luke. It's just wrong.

  110. I was under the impression the gang did what they could to help Bonnie find magic to get herself home now the rest is up to her. Could they have done more, Yes, always and Yes, it terrible she has not returned yet but hopefully we will see her appearance tonight. I hear she returns during a time her friends need her the most when they are all at their lowest point in the show.

  111. Thanks for reeling me back in. Yes, that would be really creepy right? Like Stephen King creepy. It has been a while since this show was scary - just thought we might be due.

  112. What I don't understand is how magic will help Bonnie get out without the Ascension device which seems to be the most important thing. They showed in previous episodes that Bonnie didn't need magic in order to get out as long as they had another source of Bennet blood, the ascension device, and a witch doing magic on the other side, which is basically how Damon and Elena got in and out. So it would seem that not having the ascension device is the main obstacle to getting Bonnie out, not the fact that she doesn't have magic, so shouldn't they focus more on making another one? It just doesn't add up. I feel like leaving Bonnie to find her way out is just the writer's lame way of explaining why the others have stopped making the effort to get her out, and also an excuse for why they've kept her out of the plot for almost the entire season.

  113. Hey Thanks - You know you raise a very good point regarding Elena which I never thought of before - We all have seen the girl who had to deal with loosing her parents and just about everyone else close to her. Now that she has gotten through the worst of it we might just now be seeing the fun loving, caring and genuine Elena Gilbert. I remember when she once told Damon - "I use to be more fun" or when she use to love cheer-leading or when Liz told Caroline that Elena had experienced grief far worse then anyone she had known so Caroline should give her friend a break. We may finally be seeing Elena w/o all the grief weighing her down. Same w/ Stefan and Caroline - I don't think I have ever seen Stefan have so much fun.

One other observation regarding Stefan and Elena I was thinking about this other day (not really a fully baked idea yet - but here goes) - just trying to understand the difference between "pure" love vs "true" love. Rose said that Stefan's love for Elena was "pure" - and he will always be good for her - but with purity comes the expectation of "NO" flaws right? - so when Elena became a vampire that pure vision Stefan had of her was broken, which maybe why Elena used the term she felt like a broken toy. Katherine also referred to Elena as having "white" feather dove wings - again a sign of purity - So how could Elena remain "pure" after becoming vampire? I guess we know the answer to that ?? she couldn't. I mean really how long could she even keep up with trying to remain perfect in the eyes of these 2 brothers as a human? I believe she has been trying to come to terms with that within herself ever since - but now she maybe letting it go - she has grieved the last death in her life and that was her human self. We are now seeing her thrive. Not sure if that all made sense - still working on it...

  114. I've mentioned this already, but I think Stefan and Caroline should get their own spin-off when TVD ends. Anything with Alaric and Enzo as the main characters would be boring IMO. Stefan and Caroline could have normal jobs, but they could solve mysteries together while trying not to kill anyone or expose themselves as vampires. I know that Paul Wesley said that he wanted to work on another TV show in the near future, but I don't know from interviews I've seen or read if he would turn down his own spin-off if anyone offers him one. Of course this is only speculation. Thoughts?

  115. I don't know why everyone is expecting Bonkai. Bonnie is going to be traumatized and she'll most likely want to kill Kai.

  116. I know - they seem to bend the rules at their convenience - but Bonnie did not need the ascendant to get into the prison world - so maybe she does not really need it to get out - Maybe Qetsiyah's bloodstone is powerful enough - the ascendant had a lot of witch power in it so they are just replacing it with the bloodstone. It is still going to be a real nail-biter.

  117. Wow - incredible response - I just love discussing this stuff - you have really help provide a deeper understanding of these characters - you are so right - both Kat and Damon - challenged Stefan about being with Elena because she made him feel human - he denied it but I think you are right he needed an escape from the grief of being a vampire because he had done so many bad things due to loss of control. Damon tried to help him but that turned out to be a disaster when Elena found out and Stefan was embarrassed. I remember Damon telling Stefan not to be embarrassed about what he was -live it, love it, own it. So Stefan turned to Caroline, who was the only person he felt he could trust and she was good at it - Basically, Lexi 2.0. Lexi was always pulling Stefan back from the edge and when she was gone I am sure he was lost.

I do think Stefan was in love with Katherine - I find their relationship very interesting - they had this love/hate thing constantly going on and I do believe Katherine loved Stefan more.

When Elena turned - I remember Stefan telling Damon that she is not suppose to be this person - He did not want her to be. Because his perfect human world with her was shattered - he could not envision them going off feeding on humans and not get caught up in the blood lust. That is when they started keeping things from each other and they started to drift apart. And poor Elena - when she found out she was a vampire she was devastated she preferred death over becoming a vampire - I remember some of the first words she spoke - "I was suppose to die - I can't be a vampire" - But, when she fought so hard to take her first drink of human blood to transition that was her turning point / acceptance - "owning it"

Honestly, with Damon I think she was interested in him from the beginning - Matt was talking about their future and Elena felt trapped - like you said she wanted passion, and adventure. Damon not only made her feel free but he would challenge her, make her rethink her life choices and when she thought she had him figured out he would surprise her. Life with Damon would never be boring. She knows he loves her to her core and will always be there when she needs him the most.

On a side note - If you think about it Katherine is the reason Elena has fallen in love with these 2 brothers - if Elena had not looked like Katherine they would have never stayed in MF. So Elena really has Katherine to thank for being loved by these 2 brothers.

  118. Thank you for liking my response :) Normally I think about this stuff after episodes when I'm lying in bed but it felt good to finally write it down and I love discussing this stuff too!
Back when Katherine was still alive I always wanted Steferine to be endgame. I loved their relationshop and I wanted them to figure things out so Stefan can accept his vampire self.
But now I think Steroline makes even more sense because Stefan trusts Caroline. He would have never trusted Katherine like that. Not after everything she put him thru.
I have to agree with everything you saying once again :)
