    This actually looks very strange. In the previous episode we saw Dr. Stein outside of Star labs with some kind of device that made him what he is know. Now here we see him kind of well expecting that accelerator to fail and to bring that wave to him. Am i the only one that doesn't think that that's not a coincidence.

    But he was outside the lab when it exploded, this is the morning before it happened.
    He probably decided later that he would interfere or at least try.
    And that device seemed like a Tachyon or however it's spelled.

    I think Dr. Stein definitely knew something was going to happen. Perhaps the device he was holding(the F.I.R.E.S.T.O.R.M. Matrix....or maybe M.A.T.R.I.X.) had to encounter a burst of certain energy, ala the blast from the accelerator explosion

    Yeah that is true. But consider this in this sneak peek we see him kind of expecting something to happen. So somehow he might have know the question is how.

    Stein doesn't sound too bad. But everyone keeps saying that he's a jerk. Maybe he will be after the merge. I'm curious to know why was he in Starling.

    It's before they turned on the particle accelerator which Barry mentions in the clip so it's almost a year before the pilot.

    There's a scene before the particle accelerator explosion where Barry is going over a crime scene at a bank that the Mardon brothers stole from.
