  1. I wonder what she's putting into that cup, if she has to drug her daughter to get her into bed with Francis- its a bad sign. And Marie is the one who lost control of her daughters country, not Mary. She hasn't been to Scotland since she was five years old but saying you need a heir so I can stay in power wouldn't have gone over well either.

  2. I really hope Kenna doesn't die. Mary is losing her friends way to fast.

  3. Sooooooo creepy! Can't wait to see Amy back in the setting! ^_^

  4. I'm glad I'm not the only one who feels this way about Mary. This love triangle bit is becoming so tedious. And her treatment of Francis. The whole thing combined with the previous s1 love triangle makes her look worse and worse in my opinion. Bash was so neatly passed off to a friend. Was thinking the same was going to happen with Conde and Lola, but I guess I not.
Speaking of Lola, I'm getting whiplash with her this season. First several episodes with a Narcisse flirtation, then a couple with Conde, and now it seems like a return of a closeness with Francis. This is poor writing and not endearing her to audiences at all.

  5. I am curious what the American fans will feel after tonight's episode. While there seems to be a lot of Conde and Mary fan's, and the latest writers seem to be pushing it, I think that most viewers have always enjoyed the episodes when Mary and Francis are in love, and fighting together for their kingdom. This constant humiliation of Francis has gotten sickening and I truly believe will turn a lot of viewers like myself, away. Last night's episode was very depressing. They are lucky to get renewal before these last two episodes.

  6. I agree with you. I still feel though that there is going to be a continued return to "frary," which makes this Conde interaction even more tedious, in my opinion. I find myself grimacing at most, if not all, of francis' scenes lately due to this new direction. I also find Mary's treatment of Conde pretty awful as well. I really thought last night was going to be the last straw for him....and then she showed up at the end to "confess her feelings." Which is really just another extension of her continuous stringing him along and using him when you think about it as she said she isn't going to act on any feelings.

  7. First off, forgive me for my long rants, but this is the only place I have found where I can express my feelings about the latest episodes with out being bombarded by a bunch of young girls pushing for the Conde and Mary relationship due to his good looks. Your right, she did tell him that they couldn't act on their love, but she also stated that several episodes back and since then she's teased Francis with a reunion, only to kick him out completely and has grown even closer to Conde. I believe that they will sadly keep teasing this relationship, and the only thing that will push Mary back towards Francis will be his pending health and eventual death.
And don't get me started on what they are doing to Bash. Shouldn't be surprised though, since this is the CW and stupid sophmoric love triangles is what they do.

  8. You're right about that. I'm sure the teasing will continue. If we are going to discuss things Mary has said previously, I'll add this one to the "selfishness" column: Early on in the season, Mary thought Conde would be a good match for Lola. They start courting, and Mary puts an end to it. I find it not only to make her appear selfish, but also mad she lost his attention. I would have preferred Conde and Lola to end things on their own. (Side note, Francis telling Lola not to court him was a bit ridiculous in my opinion as well.)
Don't worry about rants. My thoughts are always rather long as well. Ha, those young girls probably don't know the history and will probably be very surprised that Mary gets beheaded.....if the show gets that far. LOL

  9. The writers this year have distorted history so much this year, with the Conde triangle, and the tragic rape, just to advance the triangle, it's almost laughable. Not the rape, but advancing it so far in Mary's history. I am amazed at how many people are anxious for Francis to die ,thinking that it will put Mary with Conde.
Don't get me wrong, I have and I am still trying to enjoy this show, but this current SL is really starting to push me away.

  10. The rape storyline really didn't bother me...until after the second half of the season started. I understand Mary needing time to heal, but the complete rejection of Francis combined with her attraction to and ease around Conde makes me gag. It makes me no sense to me. And Mary continues to be so unappealing to me that it makes me wonder what Conde sees in her in the first place.

  11. That's exactly what I meant about using it to advance this SL. Even the writers admitted it was written in to create chaos for the king and queen. Still can't believe how pissed I still am at this new episode. I don't believe there have been more than 6 or 7 episodes in almost 2 full seasons where Mary and Francis were happy. The writers have constantly shown nothing but disdain for Francis and now they even are using the majority of the cast to humiliate him. Maybe they should just change the title from Reign to Mary.

  12. The sad thing is, Francis was forced by Narcisse into making all the decisions that caused her frustration with him in the first place. He wasn't just a bad husband. That makes her disdain for him even more unreasonable in my eyes.
Funny about changing the name - it's really the truth! All men must be in love with Mary. All people are chess pieces on Mary's board. Mary is never wrong. Mary is always justified. So stupid.

  13. And now, when Bash and Francis find the information that implicates the Bourbon Bros . Narcisse again plays dirty, which humiliates Francis once again and advanced the Conde love.

  14. I completely agree with all of this. I don't have a huge problem with the lack of actual history in the show and enjoy it more when there are references to it. I actually enjoyed the two episodes prior to The End of Mourning, mainly because 2x12 showed Catherine killing Diane, which I think historical Catherine may have secretly wanted to do.
But The End of Mourning left me feeling very underwhelmed and annoyed. Mary may have PTSD from her rape, but if she is iffy about Francis being near her and constantly tells him its all men, she really shouldn't be allowing Condé near her either. His constant pressing doesn't help me like him either.
Furthermore, Mary's blame towards Francis, whilst the connection is understandable enough, doesn't solely rest on Francis at all. Mary killed Narcisse's son after Catherine warned her not to. Just punishment or not, she could have found another way to deal with the son instead of killing him and thus earning Narcisse's ire. If she had, Narcisse's grudge would likely not have developed into the vendetta it is and there is a chance Narcisse wouldn't have been so heavy on the blackmail. Yes, Francis should have come clean about killing his father, at least to his wife, but blaming the man you professed such love for when he was trying to figure difficult things out doesn't endear me to Mary either. Now we have Narcisse using Antoine to claw his power back to enact more revenge. I do hope Catherine is allowed to let loose with her plots and poisons.
All people are flawed, but Mary has consistently in the past been angry when people don't let her run her Scottish affairs, and when Francis wants to run his French affairs himself she yells at him for not sharing. I was endeared to Mary at the beginning, and I hope I can be again, which is why I'm holding out for now.

  15. After tonight's show I was VERY Disappointed! First Mary loves Francis...then Bash...back to Francis...now Conde? I am so tired of the love triangles. Francis was pushed by her to Lola when she Mary decided to marry Bash. All Francis did was try to protect her, his mom and his son. I too am becoming weary of this show and where the writers are going. Guess.....its always been you....has been forgotten. I see MANY on Facebook who are Frary fans and are so upset too. I am still hopeful they will get Mary and Francis back on track where they should be.......makes me not want to watch anymore. Seriously....sigh

  16. Wish they would just bring back Frary already. I am tiring....

  17. I agree about Francis and Mary. They need to be together and happy already. Do NOT like Conde and his pursuit of Mary or her feelings for him. I'm getting weary of watching Mary punish Francis all the time. The writer's wrote Frary to be an epic love, "It's always been you." and now that seems to have been pushed aside. Don't get it at all.

  18. I'm don't understand why bash and Mary barely have screen time together. Still rooting for you guys. Mash!!! Mash!!! Mash!!!! Mash!!!

  19. I love Mary and Conde. I gave up Reign as parts of Season 1 weren't that exciting but since Conde showed up I love it. AK and ST have amazing chemistry! Only complaint is Torrance Combs needs a better storyline than sleeping with his half sister. Come on!

Aside from that, I LOVED the last episode. Love Louis and King Antoine that sneaky devil!
