    Yes Finally!!!! Bonnie out the prison world and her hug with Damon was epic love Alaric and Jo so cute and what Damon and Stefan mother did she come back with Bonnie and Caroline was amazing in this episode

    Bonnie is back so it got an Awesome! rating

    I forgot all about flipping the switch, I thought Caroline was going to kill herself. I was happy Elena tried to talk her out of it and, shocked when Caroline snapped Elena's neck.

    Loved what Stefan said about Caroline, yeah it totally sucks that they're delaying it but Steroline is happening.

    When Bonnie found the photos, I thought Katherine was trapped in that hell dimension. Interesting twist that it was Mama Salvatore.

    Even though I'm upset that Caroline is going to turn off her humanity, I'm okay because of Steroline! He's got to be the one to help her, right? He has feelings for her! Of course, if he had just told her that in the first place she might have kept her humanity on, but I digress.

    I'm so glad Bonnie is back. Her scenes with Damon were adorable. Love! I also really liked Matt in this episode. Was I the only one who cheered when he shoved Tyler and told him to leave?

    I had so many thoughts during this episode:
    1) Katherine busted out? Nooooo! Oh thank goodness, it was just Mama Salvatore's prison. The pictures of Stefan and Damon were a nice trick.
    2) Gotta respect a cop funeral, especially when Caroline sings.
    3) I knew there was never going to be a vampire wedding. It's Alaric, Jo, and Baby Parker-Saltzman.
    4) Is Damon starting to develop feelings for Caroline? Will he, out of sibling rivalry? Is there a new love triangle forming, since one appears to be necessary on this show?
    5) Caroline's excuses for flipping her humanity switch weren't completely legit, but I hope everything she said to Elena about breaking the sire bond and getting herself compelled NOT being mistakes, but maybe the best things to happen to Elena, will make Elena use her brain. Why is she with a guy who gives her little brother Pot and causes her best friend that much grief?
    6) BAMON HUG!!!!! I can see all of the shippers making GIFs out of it now. It's the middle of a beautiful friendship, turning into more before our eyes.
    7) So Stefan found Elena on the floor with her neck snapped. Are we supposed to care that he found her like that, or are Stelena shippers supposed to be frustrated because he doesn't care about Elena? It would have been a more productive shot if he ran into Caroline. As a fan of Elena's character, I don't think she can get away from the Salvatore family fast enough. They will ALL get her killed. I think her character has outgrown this show anyway. She can't develop and evolve any further with so much adolescent stuff going on around her. She's even a mentor for planning funerals. She's grown up.

    In regards to Lily Salvatore,was she ever seen in early season flashbacks. I dont remember her being shown, only the father.

    7) Someone needs to do a montage of everytime a Vampire on this showh as had his or her neck snapped. It screams out for someone to this

    I thought it was okay but I could of swore Damon was only supposed to be like 3 years older than Stefan so those flashbacks didn't make sense...not that tvd is known for consistency but that really bothered me

    On another note that bamon hug was everything!

    Holy crap this was the best episode of the season. I can't believe we have to wake 3 weeks for this! the first 30 minutes were a snooze fest but then it just got gooood. So glad Bonnie is finally back, not to happy Caroline turned her humanity off. Hopefully it doesn't last too long.

    It won't last long. I think the writers are indulging some fans as part of March sweeps, but with two powerful witches and very old vampires around, it won't take long to force her humanity back on again. They already know her Achilles heel: Stefan.

    Stefan was supposed to be 17 at the time of his death, and I think Damon is supposed to be 25. So if Stefan was 10, Damon would have been 18.

    Best episode in a while. I have to say I actually loved this episode. Bonnie's back, Sheriff Forbes funeral was sad but beautiful, and unlike some I like Alaric and Jo together.


    Minus Caroline turning off her emotions cause that always ends well. She's just delaying her feelings and will probably add a bunch of guilt to her issues if she kills some people while it's off.


    The vamps on this show seriously need to deal with their emotions and stop shutting them off. Jeez, what would they do if they were normal?

    After that wildly underwhelming promo, I was expecting nothing but I ended up being blown out of the water. It was a pretty damn good episode; it was emotional, stuff happened, revelations were made and BONNIE FUCKING BENNETT IS BACK! Thoroughly enjoyed this episode!

    This was the best episode of the season...
    The Mama Salvatore twist was awesome. I'm officially curious and officially interested in ay sort of Salvatore family drama.
    The Bamon hug...My jaw dropped. It was beautiful but crazy.
    Damon speech and Caroline's singing were both heartwarming...
    I was expecting someone else to play 18-year-old Damon but then I realized...Hey, Stefan's is supposed to look 17. What am I expecting? Anyway the flashbacks were good too.
    The twist with the prison worldS...I didn't see that coming. Really. That's unpredictable.

    Vampires who turn off their humanity tend to hurt the people that love them the most. With Caroline killing and hooking up with other guys, the one who is going to get hurt most out of seeing her that way is Stefan. Seriously, hasn't this guy been shit on enough over the last few seasons?

    This episode was so amaaaaazing! I even liked Matt this week.
    "A bright light in a see of darkness" Fing amazing Damon! AMAZING!
    Caroline singing was heartbreaking.

    Jo and Alaric can't wait for the bloody season finale wedding! Should be tremendous.

    Whoa, whoa, whoa...I think one might be jumping the gun. I wouldn't think for a second she'd be "hooking up with other guys" at all! Feed on, sure, some type of sexual relations, not at all. Every vamp (The three of them) that had turned off their humnaity, have all acted a different way. There's no telling how Caroline will act. And to jump to the conclusion that she'd "hook up with many" is pretty unfair. What I do think is that she'll embrace more of her vampire side, (feeding) and tell a few people off, especially Elena (which I know I'll enjoy). But I think the person that'll bring her back is Stefan. She was very hesitant when Elena brought up his name in the house. Caroline felt possibly somewhat rejected when she couldn't hear what she was hoping to hear from Stefan in that moment. I think that was the only thing she wanted to hang on to, to have some type of hope in. Something good to come out of all this bad. But when she got through the day, it hurt a lot more once she got home. So she couldn't wait for Stefan. (Not that she was, but he did say he'd talk to her when she got through the day, so maybe that was in the back of her head?) I believe Stefan will bring her back. And Idt he'll be "hurt" like you fear, if anything he'll understand it completely, and won't blame/judge/be crushed by her choices.

    very unhappy about caroline switching off her humanity. disappointed that damon would say something to push her off the edge (called it). Super disappointed that stefan couldn't figure things out sooner. WHY THE FUCK DID U KISS HER THEN JACKASS? I'm just super pissed that steroline is the bloody cliffhanger. i mean we knew about lily salvatore anyhow. Im just not ok right now. Just not ok. I don't want to see homicidal caroline. the whole reason stefan loves her is because she is so human.... n now they've gone and flushed that down the toilet. Not happy. Not ok. like seriously? u couldn't come up with a different SL ? its always gonna be switch it off ? sure damon told her its going to get harder, but dint she hear him say that her mom was so proud of her? n that she is extraordinary ? why couldn't she hv just clung on to that ? ok so stefan was being noncommittal. that talk they had - we all know wat it meant, n so did caroline... but c'mon woman - life is not all about a guy. . u are such an amazing person n if he can't see it - its his bloody loss, y u gotta go switch off your emotions for that ? come freaking on ! ! ! ! aaarrggghhhh !!


    On the plus side next episode will be sassy caroline. no more tears..that should be fun to watch... let stefan suffer a little. U know its fine, this is the side to caroline he's never seen, if he can't love her inspite of it, he shouldn't be with her at all. yeah thats what I'm gonna go with. test of true love - can you love her when she is at her worst ? its easy to love someone when they are all happy and cheerful and dependable. so yeah, this would be the ultimate test for steroline. Stefan could not handle elena's vampirism... he couldn't love elena the vampire - yes i hv said this before and i'll say it again. Caroline was more human than vampire, which is why he admired her, thats how he grew to love her. NOW, will he still be able to love caroline the emotionless vamp ?


    On the bright side- bonnie is back ! yaay ! Matt has manned up - yaay! N lily salvatore - Yaay ! Jolaric - congratulations.


    N THE BEST PART OF THE EPISODE - NO ENZO !! ! ! !! ! !

    I saw her turning off her humanity (called that in the beginning of the season and it's been a long wish of mine since season 4), but i didn't see her snapping Elena's neck in that moment. I've already stressed Kai's situation the moment they merged. I'm not going to think about that anymore. I'm just going to enjoy his performance while he's still on my screen.

    Damn. What a great episode. My criticisms about this show in the past have always leaned toward the melodrama and relationship stuff, but this episode just highlighted how much better they've gotten this year with that kind of stuff. And I don't ship but I love Stefan and Caroline's relationship. Romance that grows out of friendship are the best in real life IMO so I hope the show does it justice.

    I also find that the sheriff getting this kind of send off is appropriate. She was underused too much but I've always loved her, and it gave Caroline a good albeit tragic story which she was overdue for. The funeral scene was absolutely beautiful.

    Kai remains to be frustratingly awesome and supremely annoying at the same time. He has got to be the best villain the show has had in a long time, although I have a soft spot for the Traveler leader since he's the hottest guy that's ever been on the show ha. But that's another story.

    It's so weird for me to have so many compliments for this show.

    I didn't like her drama in s4 but I have *loved* Elena this season. Probably more than I ever have. She's "good" but she is far more confident, wwaaaaayyyyy less anal, she's more open-minded, and just a bit more adult overall. The writers could ruin it down the line but I think this is Elena's best version of herself so far. I like that she's more willing to take bets and make mistakes and learn from them. And I have found her so entertaining lately, which... Is not typical. But I think this year all the characters have developed nicely. I haven't enjoyed the show this much since season 2!

    Damon always says the worst thing possible, especially when he means well. It's like Elena makes the stupidest choices when she's trying to be rational.

    They should never, ever, tag team on a friend. If I had a problem and saw those two coming at me, I'd flip my switch before they even started talking.

    This was meant lovingly, btw. Not a criticism.

Caroline resorted to switching off her humanity because ....? her mother died! a natural human death, aka, of cancer, not killed of by an enemy or just stopped breathing! she had time with her mom! she was there by her side, and Liz had to die at some point!! so why all the drama! just to put obstacles to Steroline!!! pffffff I think this was the dumbest thing they could pull this season.

    Yeah he's handsome but not attractive to me. And yes, the Traveler guy was amazingly super sexy. But then again I have a thing for Middle Eastern - looking guys. :) But I can't believe that anyone wouldn't find him good looking haha. I hope that guy shows up in another show (that I like) soon... Hopefully cable. Where he can be naked.

    Do remember a vampire's emotions are heightened. The loss of a loved always hurts too much, imagine it magnified a hundred times. I don't like the idea of a no humanity Caroline but I understand where she's coming from.

    but all of them suffered worse than her! namely Elena! and the only time she switched it off was when Damon told her to! Stefan lost his best friend Lexi at the hands of his brother, and he didn't, he drowned for four months and he didn't! so why does her case demand a switch off more than the rest of them !! she did witness death before, so I really don't see this '' legit '' reason!

And after Caroline has been rejected twice already, stefan practically rejects her a third time, at the worst moment of her life, becoz of some shady advice. I;m sorry, but I'm gonna blame stefan. U know why? OK lets just assume for the sake of argument that he REALLY DINT WANT TO GET TOGETHER WITH CAROLINE. fine, u shouldnt be forced into a relationship out of pity, BUT, he could hv STILL been there for her.     I want her to speak her mind about why she hates damon. Coz thats one relationship that has never healed. I want her to come out and say exactly why she thinks he's a monster. with her emotions off, she won't worry about being appropriate. Whether or not caroline was raped by damon is still a grey area on the show, n still hotly debated. i want to know her take on what happened. Will emotionless caroline give it straight to her best friend that she is dating a monster ? . . . maybe thats the delena obstacle ?

    You're right. The Ripper thing was unique to Stefan as long as he insisted on animal blood and kept falling off the wagon. Now that Stefan drinks human blood, there's more of a balance. Caroline won't be Ripper, but I hope that she does speak her mind the way Elena did, and this should be the final nail in the Delena coffin. Considering how Elena has called Damon an idiot for two episodes in a row for corrupting people she loves, there is no reason for her to be with him. Right now they're just playing house. In the beginning, Elena chose Stefan. Then while she was under compulsion, Elena chose to be with Liam until she realized it wasn't safe for him, and then she decided to explore feelings for Damon that she no longer understands. Damon has always been Elena's second choice. Calling their relationship "true love" is insane.

    So everyone turn off their emotions in this show ?! Stefan in S3, elena in S4, damon S5, and now Caroline !!!! It's soooo déjà vu, every vampires lost their minds at some point ! I think that It's a mistake in caroline's case cause It's not her type to deal pain like that . It would have been more interesting if they would have turn her into OCD freak (like Emma in glee). Caro is generally a control freak so It would have been better to push that side of her even more now that she lost the strongiest and most stable relationship in her life...... There are other way to become twisted and mad than always rip peoole's head off....

    Another excellent episode-Julie wrote & directed it pretty well.
    1.Caroline-Definitely the MVP of this episode.Candice killed it and i'm glad we'll finally get to see dark caroline we've all been waiting for since 2nd season.I didn't like the fact they made it seem like stefan's late response was somehow the deciding factor in this.
    2.Stefan-Male punching bag of this series and this episode proved that.I'm glad he finally decided to give their new-found relationship(Steroline) a chance for real but as expected,he was a little too late.I'm not feeling stefan in general this season but for caroline's sake,i would like to see him help caroline get through this dark phase.
    3.Elena-She was a good friend to caroline after a long time and i liked that.I almost cheered when she got her neck snapped-totally saw that coming!
    4.Damon-Loved the eulogy,it was short,simple and yet profound.I am loving his character this season.The flashbacks were really well done.We haven't seen a lot of brother bonding scenes this past seasons,so this was a welcome surprise.
    5.Alaric-Jo-kai-I missed kai last episode.He's great as a semi-villain and i would love to know how his story progress now that he has jo's power permanently.I hope he sticks around at least until the finale.I totally predicted Jalaric wedding last week but the baby bit was a bit surprising.I really hope alaric gets his happy ending at least but this is TVD after all,so i wouldn't hold my breath.Please live jo,i would love to see alaric as a happy father.He'd be great at it.
    6.Bonnie-She's BACK!The scene between bamon at the end was pure gold.We missed you,girl!
    7.Mama Salvatore-They spoiled her name in the credits and then dropped the hint of mutiple prison worlds,so it was very clear she was trapped there in other dimension/timeline alongside bonnie.The special effects were also cool.I can't wait to find out who locked her there and why?
    I'm waiting to see stefan's reaction when he learns his mom is alive.That would be priceless.
    Can't believe we'll have to wait for 12th march to know what happens next.
    Only funny thing about this episode-matt and tyler enlisting for police business!GTFOOH!
    I kinda missed enzo but the episode was so good,i didn't mind TBH.His revenge plan can wait.
    TVD is really delivering this past couple of episodes and i can't wait to see what they have in store for us for this last batch of episodes!

    really good episode, the funeral scene was really emotional, and the moment she started singing...perfect. One of the best scenes of this show.


    "pity proposal"-really good too


    the moment that 1903 woman showed up, I knew she was their mother. I guess it was obvious for everybody.


    Matt and tyler- they should really be off the show, the writers seem to treat them like some unnecessary characters, giving them some so-so subplots. Just send them off to that military school, or whatever it is, lets say goodbye to those characters, no nid to kill them off.

    Best episode of the season so far.
    Liz funeral was very emotive, I almost cried. I'm looking forward to seeing Caroline without her humanity. Her reaction is normal and Stefan should've decided sooner so this wouldn't have happened.
    The hug between Damon and Bonnie was so great! I'm glad Bonnie is already at home.
    And that final twist...I never thought I would say this after season 5 but I love these writers! Mama Salvatore is back! Yes!

    Great ep! Damon was awesome, his eulogy OMG, so sweet. So happy Bonnie's back, and loved her hug - it's been surprisingly fun watching how close she and Damon have become! I guess I'll be one of the diehard Stelena fans - I still hope they get back together. Steroline are better as friends. Caroline turning off her humanity should be fun to watch. Love her character, but would be fun to see her shed the goody-goody for a while. This would be the perfect opportunity for Caroline to jump to the Originals for a while. She and Klaus would have so much fun exploring Caroline's bad-ass side...

    Despite the above, I still loved this episode. There were just so many great scenes. The funeral, Damon's eulogy, Caroline singing, Stefan finally realizing that Caroline was the one for him, the scenes with Kai and Jo and last but not least...Bonnie's return!!!! Her reunion with Damon was just adorable. Other great things about the episode? No Enzo!


    The idea that there is this prison realm that keeps people trapped in a certain time period for ever, is a nice development, but I couldn't help but feel sorry for Damon and Stefan's mom basically has been reliving the same day for over 200 years! So does that mean that they keep prisoners there indefinitely with no chance of ever serving out their sentence? Seems harsh.


    I think I missed this...but did Kai use Jo's pregnancy in order to trick him into giving him all of her powers, or did he genuinely think that he would die without them? I wasn't entirely certain. I still can't believe that the leader of the Gemini coven carries so much importance and that the honour now falls in the hands of someone like Kai. Seems like they could have tried harder to prevent that from happening by just killing Kai and forcing Liz and Luke to merge. Knowing how important the leader was, I'm just surprised that Liz didn't take the responsibility more seriously instead of forcing Jo to merge wtih Kai. And does this mean that Kai would actually have to give birth to twins himself in order for the coven to survive after he passed away?
