  1. Ichabod wants granite counters ! Lots of great components in tonight's episode setting up the road to the end of the season.

  2. Oh, dang. Irving! Noooooooo! And things aren't looking so good for Katrina, either. Loved seeing her getting all fierce with her powers, though...I'm hoping Kent was just trying to mess with her.
And speaking of Kent, oh, man, what a villain! The story about his ties to Katrina's family was so creepy and horrifying, and he himself was pretty intimidating, too. Some really freaky special effects and murders taking place this episode-lost count of how many times I was gasping and wincing and "Ewwwww"-ing! Ichabod was so badass facing off with him, though. And I loved Abbie's idea with the generator and "making nature" to fight him. Brilliant. That whole fight sequence was awesome.
Wasn't sure about the idea of Henry moping about in a hotel for most of the episode, but it is nice to see him getting all villain-y on us again. I just wish he wasn't dragging poor Irving along! This is not going to be pretty, is it?
On a lighter note, I loved Irving's comment about the "Dating Naked" show, and Abbie suggesting she take Ichabod to a hockey game to help him brush up on trash talk. Ha!
The next few weeks look like they're going to be pretty intense. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time.

  3. Unsurprising when you consider it was written by Albert Kim. If you are a Nikita fan, then you are already familiar with his work. He penned some of the best episodes of the series. It had his fingerprints all over it... big action scenes and intense suspense leading up to the final moment.

  4. I sooo wanted to say something about Henry and Irving at the same time but avoided putting them two in the same sentence as it would have given it away. So, so glad you enjoyed the episode!!

  5. I've not seen "Nikita", but I've heard many good things about it. If this episode is an indicator of his work for that series, that's another one to add to my list to check out, then. I know it's long since ended its run-hopefully I can find it online or something.

  6. Phew, glad you also thought this episode is one of the best of the season. So good!!

  7. Hahaha, yeah, now I see why you couldn't give too much away in your preview! So much stuff happened here, good lord! You did good keeping the secrets of the episode intact.
I definitely enjoyed the episode. Very intense and action-packed. You were right :). And if Kent wants to ever "return from the dead" as a villain, I'd be okay with that.

  8. Can't wait to watch this! But first I have to sleep a couple of hours (and try to not cough up my lungs).

  9. Aw. Hope you feel better! And hope you enjoy the episode when you see it, too. Have a good rest!

  10. This episode was very boring. I was very bored. The witch trials story dragged. And I stopped liking Kent once it was revealed he was in love with this Blonde Whispering ancestor and he wanted to go back in time just to be with her. (Rolls eyes) That was disappointing as I was very much looking forward to him.

Only Abbie and Irving's scene made it for me. And Henry's scenes. For some reason I really liked him being all chill. It was weird, but nice. I found it funny how he was watching TV. I said, "Huh, didn't know the Horseman of death watched TV." Hahaha. But I'm glad he snapped out of his chilled state. The last 5 min were the best of the entire episode.

Anddd now we see Irving's true self. Such a shame. I also liked The Ichabbie house hunting scene, and their last scene talking about hockey. That was cute. But I didn't even like their scenes in between. (Shocker) if I can't even like the scenes of my ship, that's a serious problem. This show is going down. With only three episodes left, I feel like we won't get a third season. I was hoping that I was wrong (maybe I still am), but based on this episode, I'm just not seeing it. I'm sorry to sound repetitive, but seriously if they keep having these "Whisperer centric" episodes, I don't see myself enjoying the series anymore. Nor do I think the series will go beyond season 2. It's just not working. I thought I'd enjoy Katrina becoming evil, but that scene was just....sigh, just terrible acting on her part. I wasn't convinced at all. The flower had better acting, and it's an inanimate object. = /

For the first time ever in Sleepy Hollow history I had to vote this episode POOR. (And that's being nice not to vote it awful). Heavy Sigh. Sorry Ichabod, Abbie, Irving, and Jenny. Still love you guys though.

  11. I hope people on the preview thread did go through with their intent to skip the show tonight. Because anyone that closed minded didn't deserve to witness, IMO, the best episode of the season. Seriously, that ending...

  12. I'm a big fan of Nikita and I agree with jacos, very glad to know this was penned by him.

Yeah a lot of ranting about not watching because of Katrina and I did say it's up to Abbie and Ichabod and Irving to save the day as she doesn't detract from the spotlight at all.

  13. It was a great episode like that we got to see Katrina do more wow at that ending

    ReplyDelete
  14. Can't wait for you to watch this and I'm hoping you get better ASAP!

  15. I hope so too, thank you ☺ I'm sure I will love it.

  16. This episode was "meh." Feel like they wasted Solomon; I was excited because I find him very disturbing for some reason. The pacing was also off in this episode, and it took forever for anything to happen. Katia's acting made me cringe at least three times, most notably in that warehouse. Also, I thought Katrina was supposed to be super powerful int his episode? Compared to the past her powers were good but still.

The interesting bits involved Henry and Irving. Wow...just, wow. I guess they kind of moved Katrina's story along too. Overall, I'd give it a '6.'

  17. Looking forward to it like you wouldn't believe. And thank you ☺

  18. All that debate and ranting, and she didn't even dominate the episode! She had her scenes and had a notable role in the story, but she wasn't the main focus. This is why watching an episode and THEN making your judgments is a good thing.

Yeah. People definitely missed out if they chose to skip this episode. It was really good, and not just in relation to Katrina.

  19. Glad you enjoyed it. Somebody should.

  20. So I guess we finally know where Henry gets his skills from. Now for onto Iriving, I refuse to believe he willingly crossed over to the dark side. I'm thinking Henry has done something to his soul.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Love seeing Henry Parish turning into the conflicted good guy seeking redemption - John Noble plays that role the most effectively

    ReplyDelete
  22. Oh, yeah. I definitely agree Irving's under some sort of nasty spell. I'm rooting for him to break away and return to his good self somehow.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yeah, read your comments. I'm sorry you didn't care for it. But you have good reasons as to why. I do agree that I wish Kent had a darker reason for getting that book than to reunite with a loved one...though, then again, he would've also heavily altered history with his plans, too, which is pretty dramatic-I wouldn't have minded more focus on that part of his evil plans.

    ReplyDelete
  24. He wasn't in love with the blonde ancestor - he was in love with the other brunette woman.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Very generous of you, I'm very glad you went into it with an open mind. Solomon could have been given a lot more to do and those blood demons had so much potential to make the episode scarier. At least we're sort of heading in the right direction 😊

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm conflicted. I like the episode, but once again Katrina was sidetracked by writer with doubt and It's getting tiring. I did love Crane beating Kent senseless for everything he's done to his family. I am hoping Katrina can take that powerful magic and use it to fight off her son. I sense a showdown is coming.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Omggggg, I'm so glad I wasn't the only one who saw that awful "warehouse acting" It looked like she was having a seizure. Not being "taken over by evil". It was soooo ugh. I just kept thinking, could someone give her her pill already? Sigh.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I'm hoping i'm right too. It would be devastating if he was just evil.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I hope you're right.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Aw. I'm interested in where this storyline with him will go, but yeah, I want the Irving we all know and love back eventually, too. Abbie can't lose another close friend!

    ReplyDelete
  31. I am hoping Katrina can take that powerful magic and use it to fight off her son. I sense a showdown is coming.

I hope so. I think, done right, that could be a game changer for both characters. Whether she fights against Henry to help Ichabod and Abbie, or for her own personal gain, either one could be good.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Yeah, I agree that part, changing history, would've been exciting to see. That i would've enjoyed.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Oh yeah. You're right. It still didn't help his character for me. I was disappointed in that part.

    ReplyDelete
  34. It's devastating now, and we're just beginning to see it. = (

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sadly....she's already lost him. = (....I think they will milk this for awhile. I don't see it being resolved in 3 Episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  36. She has, but hopefully just temporarily. So long as they still have a chance to save him, then she might still have a chance to get him back.
And no, you're right, I don't think this will be resolved quickly-I suspect this'll be a BIG part of the season finale, and we'll have quite the cliffhanger on our hands.

    ReplyDelete
  37. OH.:MY. GOD!! Those freaking blood demons was the ONE thing is was MOST excited about and it was suchhhhhh a LET DOWN! I literally sad, "WTF?! When is her bullet killing these demons Sooo easily?? And why did we only get two???" UGH! That pissed me off.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I love this episode. It's so much better than Hawley episode which I enjoy only 2 Karaoke scenes only. The fight between Katrina and Kent should be more epic.
I hope Katrina is not going to be a dark witch and turn against to Abbie and Ichabod. I hope she will be like Elena in Beautiful Creatures that would be great for Ichabod Team to fight against Henry.

I am not really shocked so much to Irving serve Henry. Since then he has not a reflection in the mirror, I suspect him.

    ReplyDelete
  39. They're not ending the finale on a cliffhanger this time. But the downfall and how Abbie finds out about Irving, should be very interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Dare I say the writers have found the working formula again! The "witnesses" were together (like they should always be) and Katrina for the first time has a place/role of her very own this episode. The fight scene was great because Abbie and Ichabod were clearly no match for Kent, so Katrina steps up in her field of expertise (witchcraft) for a "Warlock vs. Witch: Beat Down".............this episode was awesome! I really like this new direction of the series. 4 THE SLEEPY HEAD NATION, I am still Nobody!!!

  41. Awesome post as usual. Always spot on and to the point. Hi Twin:))) Left you a msg. in your P.B.box.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Oh, they're not? Hm. Well, then yeah, I can't even begin to imagine how they'll handle the downfall and all the stuff with Irving in three episodes while still leaving something left over for next season...but I agree that it'll be quite interesting to see how that plays out.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Nope. And I do hope Irving gets "found out" by the finale. It would kill me if they (Ichabbie) were still in the dark about his condition.

    ReplyDelete
  44. so you still trust Irvin?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Another episode, another chance for Winter to show she can't act her way out of a paper bag and that her character is insufferable. Focusing on her character the whole season has ruined the show. Enough with that!

    ReplyDelete
  46. I feel like there should be comics, at least online, that happen in an alternate reality that show what would happen if they happened to fail in an episode and how they'd have to stop it from there. Of course they wouldn't be canon but they'd be awesome.

    ReplyDelete
  47. As cheesy at it is, romance brings up some of the strongest emotions you will ever will and it effects some people in a dark way, depending on who they already are I suppose. I think generally love and obsession is a much more believable motivator for villains than just that they happen to be psycho and want to destroy the world.

Although given the motivations of most of the bad guys on Sleepy Hollow maybe we're overdue for some full time genuine psychos who feel nothing but a desire to destroy the world.

  48. The final scenes were definitely the most memorable for me. The two actors did a brilliant job trying to convince us that Irivng was normal and that Henry had traded his evil mission for a lifetime of cheap motels and trashy daytime shows, but we all knew better. What was more surprising was that those two been in cahoots all this time, busily plotting and scheming. When Irving was talking to Abbie in the pub, I realized how much I missed the old Irving from season 1, except that this wasn't really the Irving from season 1. I'm really curious to know what Katrina actually saw when she met with Irving...I suspect she knows that Henry is alive, which is why she said nothing. I really hope that Irving's soul can be saved.

The Kent villain was super-creepy especially in the 17th century flashbacks (although nothing is as scary as Moloch ), but I guess he was no match for high voltage. His two blood demons were kind of a letdown, though. Their materialization was impressive, but once they started running about, they just looked like two painted guys leaping around in unitards! The Katrina family backstory was also good and it was nice to see her helping Ichabod and Abbie, but once again, the character development was somewhat lacking. The writers continue to portray her as this somewhat ethereal, mysterious character who always seems emotionally detached from everyone else.....especially Abbie. Despite their scenes together, both characters barely address each other or make eye contact...sadly, I'm not seeing any female bonding in their future. The last scene with the flower, combined with the fact that the writers don't seem interested in having Katrina connect with Abbie, makes me thing that they are definitely planning to send her on very dark path. I hope they know what thy're doing.

Not too many light moments in this episode, except for the house hunting scene with Ichabod Abbie and Irving's comment about wishing he had remained dead; it goes without saying, that Jenny is always missed. I also wonder if we'll ever see Irving's daughter again. There are also a few characters from last season that are notably missing or unresolved, like the Officer Brooks and Luke, Abbie's ex....will we ever seen them again? Anyway overall, I thought it was a decent episode.....not as good as last week's, though.
