  1. I like it. I know people will find the first episode quite unconventional for a first episode (can't even be considered a "pilot") but it works if you watch the next few episodes (a.k.a. the rest of them).

If there's one thing I appreciate them doing is being subtitle on certain scenes that otherwise I would have feel uncomfortable seeing when I was watching the Australian version. But that's just me. :)

  2. I couldn't make it past 15 minutes, definitely not my kind of show.

  3. EWWW! The kid is old enough to play "little league", but he's still "sucking mom"...........WHY! And the mom..........WTF! I couldn't even watch long enough to see............."THE SLAP"! 4 NO TO THE SLAP, I remain Nobody!!!

  4. I only watched half of it (plan to actually finish it later), but the narrator is unbearable. They should have hired the guy from JtV, lol

  5. Try to start with the events leading to the slap, last 20 minutes of the show. First 20 was all about Hector and the characters coming together for the BBQ.

  6. Enjoyed the first episode. Hector's view. Liked seeing Uma Thurman, Thandie Newton, Penn Badgley and Zachary Quinto as an ensemble cast. Prettiness. I know shallow. Hugo is a very undisciplined, breast fed, five year old (at least). The kid needed a pop on the butt, but that slap was too much for a child (the guy rared back like he was slapping a man, or woman). Anxious to see how this ends.

  7. Haven't watched it yet, will do eventually. But as a fan of the original, is it just the same, or have they taken the basic premise and introduced different characters and storylines? With Melissa George playing the same character in both, if it's the same, I might as well just rewatch the original.

  8. I loved it... and they kept it pretty much the same and not going off the rails... from the org..
as I was watching I did... as I did when watching the org.. someone slap the crap out of that annoying brat.. but the kid in the American version was more annoying though

  9. A little on the slow side, but well acted and definitely intrigued to see how it unfolds. The actual slap was way harsher than I was expected, but man that kid was irritating - actually, I found myself equally irritated by his parents, it's like they've set no boundaries for him!

  10. Oops, sorry.. I hope you didn't get spoiled much. :(

Over-all, I do feel they got "Hector" just right with those minimal changes although as always, the series has to stand on its own.

I think over-all, the response has been mixed, so for many, they'll either love it, hate it, or both. I'm sure many will be disappointed if they felt misled by the title. hehe.

  11. lol... I've already seen the org... and I have to admit that I was biting my nails a bit... on what they'd do to the remake....my husband said aren't you tired of watching reruns.. lol.. I had to tell him that it was a remake.... but so far as its only the first ep.. they did a good job with it...

I read the book, but havent seen the australian series. But this one I should say is awesome! Characters are perfect, just as they were shown by the author. For those who haven't read the novel, the first episode may seem boring, but only first half, I should say. The story is so much deeper then it may seem. I enjoyed every minute of the episode and cant wait to see how they're gonna show everything that happens next!

  13. Is it just me or does Richie have the hots for Hector? There's something strange about a teenage boy telling a grown man to use his smile more often.

  14. I thought that as well. It was really weird and Richie was creepy taking photos of people when they weren't paying attention.

  15. No poll for 1x02 "Harry"?

  16. Little shit needed some parenting. The father needs to grow a pair, the mother needs psych help, and she's going to ruin her child for life over this.

I'm going to watch a few more episodes (never knew there was another version).
