  3. I was disappointed with this ep. The writing felt all over the place. And I guess it was a darker ep than I expected. I hope the next ep is better.

  4. I thought it was good, but not great I guess...

I liked the darker tone. I think it fit perfectly with how last season ended. So many people lost so many things and never had time to deal with it. We needed to see some grief, some anger, some payback!

Too much happened in the episode and it would have been better served as a 2-part/ 2-hour premiere I think. It felt like they wanted to wrap up last year and establish the new seasonal arc and crammed everything into one episode.

The hunt for Malcolm should have taken the entire first hour and then the new elements should have come into play in the second hour.

    Speaking of the new elements..
I liked the mystery centered on the witches they seem like a powerful new enemy that will need to be dealt with. Meeting the other alphas was interesting as well. Especially considering one of them was the backing behind Malcolm Danvers coup d'etat!

Hopefully the next episode will be stronger.

  5. if they keep following the not so great books, just wait till the ghosts, demons and time traveling shows up.

  6. Yes, I thought it was way too much crammed into the one ep. And that's why the writing felt everywhere and confusing. I hope it's less rushed for the next ep.

  7. Yep!
They wanted to end at a specific point and rushed everything in to get to that point. It was only 3 days after the finale, but every pack member knew exactly where to go and what to look for.

Everything was just glossed over when many of the tasks should have taken some time. Maybe not Logan returning the dogtags to the dad, but finding the drug dealer after was too easy. Nick seducing the woman went as smoothly as a tactical operation planned for weeks in advance, not a day or two.

Last year seemed to move at a more natural pace with all the events happening in stages that let the story breath. I missed that.

I'm hoping that it's one of those things that happens sometimes when shows cram too much into a premiere by trying to wrap up things left open last season and move on to the new season's story line all within 42 minutes..
    *Shrug*

  11. Interesting route they are going, very different to the books, but I like it already.
