  1. Clarke did make the wrong decision and for the first time ever, I have no sympathy or understanding for her. I was not thrilled with this episode. I liked Tsing melting away like the wicked witch, I loved Dante telling Cage to get out of his face and I most especially loved Octavia getting in Lincoln's face. Octavia is actually the strongest willed of them all.

  2. Showing Jaha was definitely pointless.

  3. Clarke made the wrong decision and I don't feel bad for her at all love that the doctor got hers but wonder is the marrow is really a cure or temporary

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think that the marrow is going to end up being a cure. I think the war is going to decimate Mount Weather and I don't believe they want all of those characters to die. I haven't really given it much thought.

  5. I like the President, at least I understand him. And I do like Maya, I hope she lives. I wasn't thrilled with the ep either. I don't agree with what Clarke did. She shouldn't have let Lexa take over like that. She could have quietly gotten some people out, even if it was a few, I'd have more respect for Clarke.

Octavia really stepped up, she was great.

  6. Lexa and Clarke didn't make the wrong desicion. Listen to what Lexa said. If they moved away from Tondc, the Mountain Men would know they have an inside man. Which equals = Bellamy caught. Everything ruined. With Cage think the leaders of the Groudners and Sky people are dead plus the army, they won't be worried about them now. Sneak attack by the Ground/Sky army.

  7. Lexa/Clarke didn't make the wrong desicion. Listen to what Lexa said. If they moved away from Tondc, the Mountain Men would know they have an inside man. Which equals = Bellamy caught. It just sucks that people had to die.

  8. If anyone caught Lexa and Clarke neaking out, they would have all known and went running out of the village. Then Mount Weather would know there's an inside man telling them their plans. They made the choice that will save their people at MW.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I understand her. lexa made it clear that thei mission would be ruined if MW knew they were getting info from an inside man. Belalmy would have been caught and Mount Weather would have won. Now MW thinks their dead and won't be worrying about an army. So no more missiles or other attacks

    ReplyDelete
  10. Totally agree. That's what the writers are showing us, that leaders have to make the touch calls.

    ReplyDelete
  11. How were they suppose to save a few selected people? You may live and you stay here to die. ?! I get why people are mad but either way it would've been a bad decision. I'm more mad about the Clarke just left. Clarke would never think that she is more important than anyone. I hope they will find a way to explain more but man that's The 100.

  12. Not my words but I love this:

"it’s so vital that this week not only did clarke let people die
jasper, monty, harper and miller actually watched a woman die painfully
relished in the guards dying as well
this is what war does and this is what it turns people into
    and that’s so important"

  13. I feel she could have at least pulled Indra and Kane in there and tried to get them out, too. It might not have been much, but at least it would have been a small effort. I do understand why the decision was made as it was. I just wish there had been some underground bunker or something to save some of them.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Clarke didn't its the writers who try to be on everyone side/ maybe this week the writer liked Abby and the elders more then last week writer who like Clarke more. This has happened couple times now in the show.

Heck Clarke already had the plan to make them misdirect the aim sight, its bugs me more that she didn't activate the plan to find the scout as soon as she got to the meeting ground. Rather then remembering that on the radio she heard them say there was a scout.

  15. Best part of this episode was the Bitch doctor and 10 other people who died at the mountain. Now I hope the 40something can wreck havoc in the place.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Another good hour. It forced home the stark realities of war, and how it is often won by playing the long game and being prepared to accept there will be collateral damage. There are always pros and cons to any decision made. What matters most now is how the Grounders and Sky People come together to capitalize on their advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I'm not a doctor but if we are using the show's doctor logic in that the Bone marrow lets them go out for the long run, then after all the guards are dead and Wallace is President again, sign a peace treaty, and hope the arc people volunteer for donate marrow in non lethal dose.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I like touch calls. But I get what you mean.

    ReplyDelete
  19. If she would have stayed she would have died. How can she help her people at MW then?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Indra would have alerted everyone.

    ReplyDelete
  21. She did make the right choice, if it resulted in deaths. Lexa and her had to make sure Bellamy wasn't caught. If they hadn't done this all their plans would be ruined, and Bellamy caught and killed. It would have given away they had an inside man,

    ReplyDelete
  22. Once again The 100 shows its balls: someone can remind me why this show isn't getting Flash/Arrow kind of ratings? It should

    ReplyDelete
  23. During war there is little place for morallity, should they have evacuated that would have meant they would have probably lost the war. If they had time, maybe there was a way to go around it, but the thing is, there is not usually that much time when war strikes

    ReplyDelete
  24. Sadly, it may have been too notorious; the risk was too high and a tough call had to be made. Maybe there was a way around it, but if there was then they needed more time than they actually had.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Awesome! It was a pretty big episode just like I thought.

This show is always about making the tough decisions in dire situations with only so much amount of time and what Clarke and Lexa ultimately decided on tonight, it was the best one to make sure that Cage and Mt. Weather assumed that they killed everyone at Tondc and didn't know that the Sky people have a spy inside Mt. Weather, already telling them ahead of time. It was tough scene to watch with mostly everyone killed, but it had to be done. Like Lexa said "This is war. People die. Don't let emotions stop you now".

Bellamy's job is almost done! He triggered a containment breach and caused the Mountain Men to suffer from radiation poison, and now to try and free the other Sky people from Mt. Weather. Loved that scene where Dr. Tsing died a slow and painful death. Just what we all wanted and it was so damn satisfying to watch. Woohoo! The Sky people are fighting back and they're fighting back with everything they got!

The journey to the City of Light was very interesting this week! And wow the cinematography for the Dead Zone was absolutely gorgeous (as was the clothing). The scene where Murphy and Emori bonded for a moment there was great since you don't see him act this way towards anyone. It was nice to see a different side of him for a change. We'll see if we can trust Emori with her telling Murphy to go due north before knocking him out. I have a feeling this journey will get deadly pretty damn soon.

  26. I agree with everyone here saying Clarke made the right call. It's a tragic thing that's happened and she'l never be the same. But isn't that what this show is about? Sacrifice. The priority was Bellamy's mission and both Clarke & Lexa's people inside the mountain. Even if Clarke tried to get 'a few' people out... How do you chose from a group right infront of you who deserves to live or die? She chose her people in Mt.Weather over the people of Tondc. Now admittedly while watching the episode I was like wtf? Why isn't Clarke finding Octavia or Kane. But when I thought about it later I think that if Clarke told Octavia.. then Octavia would have told the entire village. Octavia said 'we' when speaking to Lincoln. She identifies herself as a grounder and while I wouldn't call her not smart by any means... she would have reacted on impluse to Clarke's information and in turn caused Bellamy and the 47 to be in danger. I don't know what I'd do if I were in Clarke's position but I'm glad I never will be. It will be interesting to see if and when the truth comes out (my guess Clarke confesses to Bellamy) the different reactions. Now I'm not saying everyone should agree with her call.. obviously Abby didn't. But almost every morally ambiguous decision Clarke has been faced with has been because someone or something has forced her hand... And those characters that have never been faced with what she has could either make the same exact choice she did..... or end up with just as much blood on their hands for the opposite. Either way this show is special

    ReplyDelete
  27. I can't believe they actually went through with it..

    ReplyDelete
  28. That ep was so tragic at the end. I really don't understand Clarke's way of not telling Kane about it. Sacrificing all of them? Just let the MM know that they have a spy in their midst. That would buy some time to act and NOT get so many people killed. I am pretty sure there were more than 47 people in that village. Many of them were leaders and warriors capable of fighting against the MM later on

  29. When the enigma code was broken in WW2, they actually had to let several smaller attacks happen in which 100s died in order to hide the fact they'd broken the code. If they hadn't then 1000s would have died and the war may have been lost.

Clarke was in a similar position and had no idea who she could tell and be certain that they in turn wouldn't tell someone else and so on.

    ReplyDelete
  30. And they couldn't be sure who they could tell without them telling more people - so even getting a few people out was too much of a risk.

    ReplyDelete
  31. maybe it's doo dark for the CW audience? The Flash is getting higher ratings than Arrow and what I get from the casual viewer (not us ;-) is, it is much lighter and not such a downer than Arrow....

    ReplyDelete
  32. why did the ark not see the city of light from above? (but I am sure JR has a plausible explenation)
is there a possibility that the mountain men have a spy with the grounders? (other then the field unit)
and why are the mountain men field units able to spy on the grounders without beeing noticed? (ok then I could question why nobody has noticed Bellamy in Mount Weather).

    ReplyDelete
  33. This episode was just so sad! I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm was very disappointed with Clarke, she's getting influenced by Lexa and this is not her. She doesn't sacrifice people like this! Sure you have to start making difficult decisions during war, but the minute you start sacrificing your own people, you have to stop and ask yourself what you are even fighting for. How is sacrificing some of your people okay enough to free 47 others?!

    ReplyDelete
  34. I can't imagine how Bellamy would forgive her for that one, assuming he gets the info somehow. She not only lied to him about Octavia being at the Ark station and safe but then left her toth the other grounders to die as collateral.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Great episode, The best thing- Evil Doctor dying painful death.
Clarke is getting more and more detached from her emotional, empathic side and she menaged to convince herself ( with Lexa's help of course) that she's doing it for her people, for the greater good. The irony is, that she looses more and more people because of it - literally anf figuratively. I know she kind of " to save many sacrificed the few" ( and coldly put others, like Bellamy and Lincoln, at great risk), but I' m more and more afraid she does't still comprehend the whole price of it. She starts to be inrecognisable to her own people whom she hold dear. This episode she lost her mother in a way and might as well soon loose Bellamy and Raven (just after she sort of got her back), when thay get the news about what really happened. It won't propbably take long before Clarke breaks.

On the other note, I loved pretty much everything with Murphy that happened in this episode. I hope by the time he meets with others would become the guy who hold some power so they all should redefine their positions. ANd I hope he does that still remaining somwhere between being the decent enough guy and a total asshole.

With everything bellamy did for clarke and for their people we would think clarke would at least tried to save his sister.... I understand why she had to do what she did but i don't think she can be forgiven for letting octavia and kane die. Hopefully they are not but when bellamy will learn what she did... He stayed focus on his mission because he trusted clarke with his sister's life. I love the dark clarke and everything but she went to far this time i think it's time for bellamy to come back...

  37. My first thought after this was that Lexa is a hypocrite. She demanded the death of Finn for killing women and children but let the village of TONDC get bombed with hardly any second thoughts. For Clarke, she is being too influenced by Lexa and her compassion is diminishing - stripping her of what once made her great. One can argue that they did it to finally be able to beat the Mountain Men and save the 47 but where do you draw the line?! Does the end justify the means? War is ugly and tough decisions have to be made. But every action demands a reaction. Where do one say enough is enough? That is where I am after this episode. Full of questions and feeling empty...

  38. I hope Kane doesn't die.

  39. On a side note - here are a few interesting paralells and symbolism in this episode.
First - Clarke and Cage. They are both new generation leaders and previous episode we've seen Cage challenging his father 's leadership and taking command himself and Clarge doing basically the same with Abyy. Now both Cage and Clarke made heavy but calculated decissions that brought horrible consequences and after that they both pretty much got the same reaction from their repective parents: they were horrified and disgusted. Obviously Clarke is our good guy and Cage is bad guy but I can't help noticing these similiarities and wonder if karma similarly bites them in the ass in the end.
Then there is the whole thing with Abby being responsible for agreeing fo people to die for the greater good and now Clarke doing the same (only kind of worse since they certainly doidn't volunteer). Abby's speech might seem full of hypocrisy but it might as well come from expirience she wants to spare her daughter.

Finally, seeing Jaha on his journey to City of Lights, going trough he desert, did anyone elese thought of Moses? HIm being the one who started the exodus of his people (first from the Ark, then from theis war with grounders), going through this desert, even with a stick, in hope to find a promised land.... Very biblical. Can't stop to think, that Moses was ( as he was told by God) the one destined to lead his people to this promised land but never to enter it himself.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Glad that Murphy and Jaha were in this episode and I hope that Kane does't die or is dead...
Just a big death toll doesn't make a show great ...

  41. Still miss Finn.

  42. pointless? They gonna get to the city of light at some point, would you wanna see them appear there all of a sudden without any story in between? I like it, especially this moment:

    ReplyDelete
  43. yeah, the best moment of the episode:

    ReplyDelete
  44. not a single boring episode this season and still rating is dropping...world is full of mysteries.

    ReplyDelete
  45. There weren't really any other options because if Clarke/Lexa had acted on any with the spotter still in the tree actively communicating to MW then he would have alerted Cage that their plans were known. While I agree that this was a pretty big sacrifice the two made that will have serious ramifications for Clarke, it was one that had to be made in order for the alliance to continue to have the upper hand to assure that they win the war.

    ReplyDelete
  46. However, Clarke would be looking for a scout in radiation gear, not one camouflaged without it. He was pretty well hidden enough for the many Grounders not to notice; and they use the trees all the time to spy and from which to do battle.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Assuming no other 47 died during the stand-off and subsequent escape from level 5, the group is down 2 from when they were taken for their bone marrow. So 45 should remain.

    ReplyDelete
  48. How cool is it that this show has their lead female teenage character doing the things Clarke is going? When the show first started, I thought she was going to be the goody two shoes who would never be okay with killing anyone. The most "good" character on the show. The writers have some major balls and I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  49. Like Lexa said when she fist told her the plan, Clarke knew they had to do it. Clarke still has her humanity because she wanted to find another way. Even after leaving she wanted to find the guy and redirect the missile. They were to late.

    ReplyDelete
  50. It's about doing what saves the most people. Telling Octavia would have ruined it because wouldn't she have warned everyone?? Then Bellamy would be killed and all of the attack plans ruined. It's not abotu saving one life. Clarke made that mistake when trying to save Finn and Bellamy, putting evreyone else at risk because of her feelings for them.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Not literally. Warning everyone would have caused more deaths. Bellamy being foudn out = no winagainst Mount Weather.

    ReplyDelete
  52. She sacrificed Finn to save everyone and so they could have peace with the Grounders. Jaha and ABby scrificied those kids and the 300 to save more people.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Kane would have warned everyone, thus ruining everything. The key right now is Bellamy not being found out.

    ReplyDelete
  54. "i hope you know that you're incredibly special to us" .... best line in the whole episode.

    ReplyDelete
  55. i know right you saw the relief on her face when she got in the lift and pressed the button thinking she was gonna get away and be fine then jasper's stops it and him monty, harper and miller just watch her die and didnt show any emotion which was pretty chlling then u see the promo with theme killng the guards and shows that even the people who are good and kind have a dark side when they need to

    ReplyDelete
  56. I really liked this episode. Pretty tough decision to make but I have to admit I see both the strategic and human aspect. I'm glad I don't have to do these decisions - I probably would've lent toward Abby's position. It wasn't just soldiers being massacred in self defense (The Season 1 battle), it was letting everyone in Tondc die. I know, I know, this came up in WWII and there was a big strategic element going on.
Still, I wouldn't have been able to make that call, even if it might after all be the "right" call to save more lifes in the end.
I enjoyed the Doctor's death way too much. What a horrible person. Now they have to get to Cage. :P

    ReplyDelete
  57. I try not to enjoy TV deaths too much but I totally cheered when Dr. Tsing literally melted to death.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Ok guys. I'm not saying I didn't like the episode but it won't go on my favorites list and I will never agree that Clarke made the right decision. That said, I do love that The 100 doesn't hold back. Any other show on network (and some on cable) would have taken the easy way out. They would have saved them at the last minute. Maybe letting one or two die. The 100 does what other shows won't. It's one of the things I love about this show. They aren't afraid of the dark. Just because I love something doesn't mean I'm going to agree with every single thing about it.
I love my BF but I still want to slap him silly every other day.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Those who were in Tondc were the leaders of the 12 clans and whatever support people for those leaders. The rest of the army was in the woods per Lexi's comment to Clarke. So, the decision sacrificed some leaders but not the entire army. Still a tough call.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh, I guess you're right. She did say that. Were there civilians left? i thought I saw a (dead?) child when Octavia and Lincoln came to the blast site after it happened but my memory might fool me. Can't rewatch right now :)

    ReplyDelete
  61. I completely disagree with everyone. I think Clarke made the wrong call. Yes, she may have protected Bellamy, but this is a dangerous secret that will destroy their alliance quicker than anything MW could do if it comes out. And more than that, her whole plan rests on Bellamy, and she didn't try to save Octavia. Clarke knew she was there, and Bellamy knows Clarke knew that, and she left her to die. Let alone what that will mean for the clans, or for The 47 (45? Whatever) when they find out, her plan relies on Bellamy trusting her. How trusting is he going to be if he figures out that Clarke was going to let Octavia die? I think the reasoning that this would've exposed Bellamy is kinda flawed anyway. There are over forty people trying to escape that mountain, plus one disgruntled ex-president that Cage already thinks is doing things to help The 47. Is them knowing about this attack that much crazier than them taking over that level? And couldn't they have just played it off as them having found that guy who was there and putting two and two together? I don't see how that automatically jumps to "they've got an inside man." I mean, they've got 47 inside men, technically, plus all those Grounders in cages, so them having smuggled someone in is not the first assumption I'm making if I'm in MW, so much as worried how someone got out again, since Clarke and Anya already did once. It's not that it's impossible they'll figure it out of course - it's the right conclusion, after all - but it seems less certain than Lexa was making it out to be. And they also lost many fighters and leaders, and possibly let the clans get scared from an alliance by losing those leaders, for a maybe. All in all, it feels like the wrong decision that Lexa made sound like the right one in the heat of the moment.

Don't get me wrong - I don't think it's a bad thing that Clarke crossed the line. I think Clarke needed to be checked on her leadership technique; I love Lexa, but we don't need two of her. I want to see what different roads this takes Clarke on going forward. And I don't think it makes Clarke stupid or evil or anything. But I think this decision was the wrong one, and it's going to bite her in the ass sooner rather than later - and possibly later as well.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Just when i thought Lexa was a good leader. Again the grounders show their flaws. They do whatever it takes to survive. They kill whoever betrays them and Lexa just did the same.
The Dr. is out of the equation, that's fantastic. Im a littel corcern when it come to Maya tho. she wont be able to leave Mount Weather once the 45 get out.
Jaha and his group was interesting to see. They are gonna be the ones to find that new place. cant wait to see what will come of them.
I have a feeling Ina will found out Lexa knew about the bombing and will use that agains Lexa.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Maybe because the City of Light isn't a city of (real electric) light. Maybe the name is just a metaphor for a place where everything is easier, happier, lighter. We don't even know if they have the capacity to produce electricity after the nuklear war. The Grunders live near the Montain Men, but they live in some kind of medieval times compared to them.

    ReplyDelete
  64. well the mountain men get their electricity from the dam, but I believe like with the weapons there would be severe punishment for anybody picking up technologie. But you could be right or they are technically so advanced they are able to cloak themselves ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  65. The 100 is a fantastic tv show. Great episode and awesome final moment. Clarke made the wrong decision, but I think she does have to much choice there. Finally the 47 will make something, thanks for the help Bellamy.

    ReplyDelete
  66. This show is excruciating to watch, in the best possible way. I was so nervous all the time in this episode. I was damn afraid for Clarke, for Octavia and everyone at the village, for Bellamy, for Jasper and the others. It's insane! So many amazing scenes. The doctor dying with Jasper staring at her has to be one of the best scenes they've done in the Mount Weather arc, so satisfying! In regards to the big theme of the episode, I am with Abby on this one actually. I think Clarke crossed a line and made the wrong all. There were other ways to go about it. She is too far gone now I think. Such an amazing episode!!!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Maybe Maya will have access to the bone marrow already extracted, like President Wallace had.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I think everyone enjoyed the Doctor's death way too much! Ahah

    ReplyDelete
  69. The best thing is how organic it feels!

    ReplyDelete
  70. It was awesome, as always, and yet so painful to watch at times. I cannot believe that Lexa and Clarke did it. I am disappointed in them, especially Clarke. I mean, she left OCTAVIA there to die! Just after assuring Bellamy his sister was safe. I know both Bellamy and Raven will be pissed at her when they find out. I get why they did it, but damn, they did cross the line. Was that the title-Rubicon? I love this show for those morally questionable things our favorite characters do, but sometimes it's just so hard to deal with.

Mount Weather storyline was great as well. I love that the 47 (46?) finally can do more than just sit there and wait to be killed. I loved the breach scene, when our kids just stood there while the mountain people were dying. Maybe now they will be able to defend themselves a little more. I pray that Bellamy remains unnoticed, but I have a feeling that won't last for long.

Also loving the Jaha-Murphy storyline so far and I'm super excited to see what they find and where they end up.

This show is effin amazing, every episode is so tense and action-packed! Can't wait for more and yet don't want this season to end.
