12 Monkeys - The Night Room - Advance Preview

13 Feb 2015

12 Monkeys, “The Night Room,” was written by Richard Robbins and directed by David Boyd. Robbins has also written for Rubicon and Scandal, so he knows how to write intrigue. Boyd’s credits include The Walking Dead, Sleepy Hollow, and Revolution. This episode is another nail biter, and this one takes place primarily in 2015.

As the title suggests the night room is going to play a big part in the episode. We learn that the night room even has evening stars. It also has a super-security vault that contains a pretty shocking secret. There is at least one scene that a lot of people will have to turn away from their television screens for.

Jones (Barbara Sukowa) thinks she’s discovered the source of the time jumps being off, yet time travel remains highly unreliable. In 2043, the team grows closer in surprising ways. Max (Romina D’Ugo) reveals that the scavengers tell stories about the inhabitants of the compound – such as Jones.  When Ramse (Kirk Acevedo) goes looking for answers, he finds more than he bargained for.

Jennifer (Emily Hampshire) is incredibly entertaining in this episode – and Hampshire is outstanding playing her. Cassie (Amanda Schull) is back in the thick of things but also re-thinking things. While one mystery is solved, more take it’s place, and there is a pretty cool timeloop.

Here are some of my favorite quotes from the episode – in no particular order and you’ll have to guess who said them! (some of them should be easy!)

“I’m from the apocalypse. Everything looks weird to me.”
“You can’t save everyone.”
“All you got is blood on your hands.”
“Who’s this bitch?”
“It matters what we do here.”
“He’s a flytrap, and you’re just a fly.”

Don’t forget to watch "The Night Room," on Friday, January 13 at 9pm on Syfy!

  5. I think "You can't save everyone" might have been said by Jones to Cole. "Who's this bitch?" sounds like Max. I can't picture the creepy spindely pale man saying that. It would be like hearing my grandma cussing. way too out of place

  9. Does Cassie get hurt in this episode? There's a flash of her lying on the floor with Cole hugging her. Seems like she dies or faints. EEEK.

  13. They're from two different promos (I figure they're the same scene). And since the synopse of episode 6 says "After the tragic events of the Night Room create an alternate reality in 2043, Cole risks his future to save Dr. Railly" it was just a guess! LOL.

  20. Syfy seems very happy with the DVR numbers which are huge... There's also a Canadian component to the production, so ratings in Canada may also be a factor...

Cole looks pretty worried but the scenes are very sweets. I adore Cassie and Cole together.

This will be a crucial episode for the show. If the ratings drop even more then it will be dead, unless syfy is feeling very, very generous.

  28. is Cassie going to hate Cole during this episode?

that was for the pilot which anyway had 1.5 million viewers!! you can't use it for the 4th or 5th episode. That's wishfull thinking. If syfy said that they are satisfied with current dvr numbers fine, otherwise this is misinformation
