  1. Barry looks constipated.

  2. Them already being back on track feels forced. They should try to connect Iris to the other characters or she will pick up the same hate Laurel is getting

  3. No. Laurel is hated because she's annoying at times, judgemental, hypocritical and has pushed all her shit on others. Iris doesn't do that so she'll never have that revulsion. Well it's hard to connect her to the other characters considering she knows nothing about Barry being the Flash. Of course it's forced, he told Iris he loved her. It's really awkward when someone doesn't say it back. So it's either they make themselves move on or lose their relationship.

  4. I said they should try! Maybe make her and Cisco have a common hobby or interest and just let them spent time together. I know it's a long stretch but think we all would enjoy it.

On your Laurel "critic" that judgemental and annoying part was cause she was written that way. They wanted to create a rift between L&O to have a plot point and made Laurel pretty bashing. But truth to be told Oliver deserved everything Laurel shot at him during the first season.

That pushing her shit on others I never understood! Really a bad moves by the writers really put a big hit on Laurel.

I'm a bit worried about Iris character, maybe this journalist gig will give her more dimension and interaction. Again just like Laurel I would wish her a story on her own to develop.

  5. She really isn't like Laurel character wise. Only things they have in common are both being love interests for the main character, both kept out of the loop (well until season 2), and both not interacting with Team Flash/Arrow characters that much (even though it's not even halfway through season one of the Flash and it's pretty justifiable just like with Laurel in season one.)

  6. Never said they were, I find Laurel to be a much more powerful person from the moment she entered Arrow. But development wise they are making the same mistakes, at least from my POV. I mean there is still a lot of space and time for Iris to shine.

But you forgot one thing, both their dads are cops and they "know" to take care of each others.

  7. I am so glad they didn't stretch the awkwardness between Barry and Iris. I am excited to see Iris in the new job. Now she might reconnect with The Flash.

  8. That was never Laurel's problem at first. Thea wasn't connected to the main story. Tommy wasn't either.

Laurel's first problem was that Gossip Girl kind of relationship with Oliver... Then came the "i'm nothing more than a love interest while my story deeply depends on two man and i have no development there".

Iris, in comparison, had a very healty relationship with Barry, we know why he's in love with her, they didn't drag he not telling about his feelings and she will be getting her first job(personal arc). Her story with Barry is moving fast. They learned the mistakes.

  9. Haha Hahahaha that backfired Barry. "He's a lousy writer." "He's won the Pulitzer twice." Hahahahaha,....but the sentiment was cute Barry. Awwww, I can't wait for these two to get with it! But until then, I really want to see Iris struggle, as they rekindle their friendship. I also want her to get back on good terms with The Flash again. Actually if I'm wishing for stuff, I'd like her to be on good terms with The Flash, THEN I'd like her to tell The Flash about her feelings for her BFF, as therapy, since she's already told The Flash about Barry anyway. Lol it would be so funny to see The Flash's reaction In that moment, then to see how Barry deals with it later. Like if he teases her or something, and she gets all flustered and has to leave. Then he just laughs. LOL

    That'd be awesome.

  10. By connect to other characters I meant for Iris to have scenes with someone else than Barry, not letting her in on the Flash secret. I have problem that to many people know who Barry is and that should somehow change. No one mentioned the main story.
You know you are contradicting yourself. Cause Iris is becoming that girl: That I'm nothing more than a love interest while my story deeply depends on two man and I have no development there. It's obvious she'll be torn between E&B as the season comes to an end.
We'll see how her job will work out and how much of it will see along the way. Laurel also had a job and it was used for Oliver and her to share scenes. Iris job for now it is just a way to introduce Linda Parker into Barry's world. I just want Iris, like all the other girls in this Flarrowverse to get a story that doesn't involve a love interest. Give her more space and let us get to know her.

  11. The entire show revolves around Barry so it'll be hard for her to have a career that's completely unrelated to that. But she will be interviewing Harrison which is a good thing.

  12. Yes, but Iris and Barry's relationship is developing way faster. That's what i meant. They could have easily wait a whole season or even 2 season for Barry to tell her how he felt.
Also, she is gonna get her own story now. Laurel stqrted with one and then it was taken from her to be degraded to a love interest. Iris, at least for now, is the opposite: she started as a love interest and now is getting her own story.
To be said too, Iris has a relationship with both Cisco and Caitlin that Laurel never had with Digg and Felicity: She knows them from visiting Barry when he was in a coma, they go out together, she asked Caitlin advice(when she asked her about Ronnie) and they all hang out on christmas. They had more scenes in 10 episodes that Laurel and Felicity in 46 episodes.
So no, it's not the same.

  13. I'm not comparing the relationship between those 2 couples at all. Just the way they handle their "leading" lady. I hope they do it right with Iris but looking at her from this point it really doesn't seem so. I
Iris had what 3 scenes with Cisco and Caitlin and besides the one with Caitlin she barely spoke with them, on screen at least. You should also consider the fact that for most of the time Laurel tried to avoid Oliver and Diggle along the way also Felicity became a regular in season2.

  14. Still, the show is seen throught Oliver's eyes. If a character is in conflict with him, it's kind of weird people will end up liking it. The show handled Laurel bad because, as a supporting character(there's no "leading lady" here, this isn't Law and Order SVU...), she never gave anything to Oliver.
I'm not comparing them as "romantic", just compare what Diggle gives to Oliver: he's what Oliver will become, a well adjusted man who is his concience. What does Roy give to him? He is a brother figure, Oliver's his mentor, his partner. Felicity? She humanizes Oliver, she makes him more "normal", more grounded. Thea? She is his only family, a link to the good part of his past persona. Malcolm? He is his némesis, nuff said. And Laurel? She is the worst part of him... she shows the audience how awful of a person he was and people don't want to see that, tbh(oh, he cheated with her sister? he got a girl pregnant? he was a jackass? Why am i rooting for this guy?).
That's at least one of the reasons i didn't like her... she had no purpose. Laurel and Oliver fight a lot... that is one thing this season tried to correct and it did well enough...
Iris is not having that problem. She is a likeable character. They learned their mistakes, i think.

  15. Are you actually are comparing characters from a show that has 10 episodes vs a show with 56? Arrow's first half was not so good, tbh. All the characters in The Flash are better organized than Arrow's first 10 episodes.
Apparently on 1x11 she will be starting her job. I wouldn't call her bland: the character isn't even a damsel in distress(the two times she was in trouble, she saved herself shooting the Clock King and knocking out Grinder). Just because she has yet to have a story about herself doesn't make her bland. Felicity isn't bland and she only stoped being a limb of Oliver/Team Arrow this Season.
For me Iris is what keeps Barry grounded as Barry. It's the character that evokes a powerless Barry, how he was before the show. Any insight as to how Barry was, it's throught Iris. She is his family, his best friend and the person he loves. She has a good relationship with him. She is likeable.
And not to mention Iris is a character with an incredible history. If one love interest in comicbook history is interesting, that is Iris. On the show they have a good storyline if they want to adapt it.

PS: From spoiler pictures it seems he will reveal his secret(that he's The Flash) to her on episode 1x15/1x16, the same episode they kiss.

  16. Are you kidding with me? You are the one who compares the shows the whole time. It's obvious we won't get on the same page her.
    So all the best.

  17. I compare the basis of all the characters with Oliver... I always said you can't compare their stories because Laurel had 2.5 seasons of them while Iris just had 10 episodes.
I also compare the first half of Flash with the first half of Season 1 of Arrow. If you put them together, Flash is the better show. It's most fast paced. Things that were dragged until the finale(Oliver declaring to Laurel or even her knowing the secret) here were done on episode 1x09 and apparently she will learn the whole truth on episode 15 or so.
Go and look at Arrow Season 1A and then tell me how good the characters were. Yes Laurel had a job that was important but then was scrapped. Iris is just starting with hers.
You need to give the show time. Cisco is a less developed character than Iris but he is in on the A Story, so he is better and not annoying? Is Eddie annoying?
Jus like with Arrow, i will make conclusions when the first season is a wrap.
But like you said, let's agree to disagree on this matter! No biggie! Have a nice day! ;)

  18. You pick up constipated from a drawing; you are good lol

  19. Who the hell is Laurel? and why is Iris being compared to her? In addition there is nothing forced about Barry and Iris they are best friends and they grew up in the same house together; and things got awkward between them after Barry confess his feelings for her after he first lied to her when she asked him if Eddie was right about him having romantic feelings her. A simply comic sketch is only showing them trying to be normal again; and think it is very realistic.

  20. I am too; I can't wait to see Iris as a reporter

  21. Ah, you must only be watching The Flash and not the mothership (Arrow) then.

  22. Nope; like my shows /movies like I like my comics; Batman, The Flash and Spiderman; hope Kreisberg quit with the endless Arrow crossovers too not a fan although I didn't mind the Arrow vs Flash episode I like their fights scenes way better then the ones in Revenge of Rogue

    ReplyDelete
  23. Affraid you'll be disapointed then, the crossovers are going to continue. The big ones like Arrow vs Flash will be an anual thing. The next smaller one is due for episode 18 of the the Flash.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Been there. Lol.

  25. Thanks for the heads up; saw that Felicity is back; wish Kreisberg would stop using her character as a sexual pawn on the Flash
