  1. I loved Ray Romano in "Everybody Loves Rayman." Loved him in "Men of a Certain Age." I can't stand him as Hank. Why is he getting more screen time than any of the Bravermans . . . again? Or even equal time? It doesn't feel right. It feels forced. Contractually forced. This show has always been an organic show. There is nothing organic about Hank. Contractually forced has so diminished what should have been a great final season. That said, minus all Hank scenes, I loved the episode. The set up of the fate of the Luncheonette. The fate of Julia and Joel. The fate of Amber and Drew. And Zeke's big decision. I loved Amber's shower.

  2. About Hank, I really can't stand when they brought his awful daughter and annoying ex wife to the mix, because WHO CARES?, but I actually enjoyed his scenes in this episode, reassuring Drew and proposing, they're solidifying him as a real partner for Sara and I think that's important. I hope the daughter/ex-wife combo don't come back, though.

  3. You're right. Last time, Adam needed the job. Fish out of water. This time? I'd like to see Crosby find a way to buy his brother out.

  4. Not only did I think this episode was the best of the season but possibly one of the best episodes of the whole series.

    Best parts of the episodes:
    - The opening montage made me cry. I lost it at the beginning.
    - The bond between Drew and Hank. He was sad when he accidentally disappointed Zeek in Episode 9 and so he had no one to look up to him. Glad that Hank was there even though they got off to the wrong foot. However, his tolerance with Hank grew better because he admitted that he really needed a father figure after Seth was selfish and Mark could not click with him. It was about time he told Hank that he was the best father figure for him. I predicted that was going to happen 2 years ago when he did not want to move in with mom and Mark back in Season 4.
    - Poor Crosby having to go through obstacles from accidentally hurting himself on the motorcycle to having the luncheonette be damaged.
    - Hank randomly talking about Joel and him making an awkward proposal to Sarah.
    - No Ruby and Sandy finally!!!!!!!!!
    - The baby shower scene with the ladies was SUCH A TEARJERKER.

  5. I would have rather had Haddie and her girlfriend this season than RUBY and SANDY, who did not have good lines with. With gay marriage being more legal in states, it would have been more appropriate to have them have more scenes especially when she was barely mentioned last season.

The worst episode of not only this season but of the whole entire series was episode 8 when Ruby threw a party and Max got into a fight with a boy over Dylan. Nothing was accomplished with that episode. Thankfully, the 100th episode bounced back a lot.

  6. Still, Ray Romano is a big $$$ name. He yields power in contract negotiations. I guess my question is, why would the show bring on such a big name, so late in the game, and give him equal or more screen time than any other established cast member? And think A) we wouldn't notice and B) we would be accepting of it? If he was so good in his role, a different role than he's ever played before, you'd think he'd have Emmy nominations by now. And maybe that was the hope. But I don't think that will happen. He's not that good in the role. Imo, he's been miscast. And shoved in our faces with his own separate story line, designed to give him more screen time. (Maybe they were hoping for a spin off . . . but it's not going to happen as ratings have been lukewarm.) I love the show. I'm already in mourning. But please, No more Hank. I don't care about him. If Sara marries him? It will prove my point. And yuck. I just thought of that. Perish that thought.

  7. I agree with everything you said. But I credit the Hank/Drew scene where Drew talked about all her mother's losers to Miles Heizer, much more than to Ray Romano. Heizer has been knocking it out of the park, all season long. I loved the scene with Amber when he uncharacteristically talked some sense into her about leaving with him when she went to tell Ryan she was pregnant with his baby. I cheered. I always knew he was a fine young actor, but he's been given some really good materials this season. Love all his scenes with Zeke, too.

  8. I actually like that they're not making a huge deal about Haddie not being straight. I think she should be around but not necessarily because she has a girlfriend, maybe because of Zeek's condition and how her family is going through a lot.

I also enjoyed seeing how Max reacted having a crush and especially how Christina dealt with it, but I'm a sucker for all storylines Max is involved, I think he's one of my favourites!

I honestly am really happy with how Parenthood is being wrapped. I'm not a fan of Ruby and Sandy (thank you for mentioning their names, I would never remember otherwise =D) and I don't really like Amber being pregnant with Ryan's baby (the circunstamces, not the characters), feels a bit forced, but in spite of that everything, at least for me, the show is coming to a very satisfactory conclusion.
