MOVIES: Captain America: Civil War - Rumor - Daniel Brühl's Role Leaked?

According to the casting notice, Rush star, Daniel Brühl will play Baron Zemo, the iconic Hydra villain form the comics. It was announced back in November that Brühl had joined the cast but not as what character.

For now, I would say take this with a grain of salt. It may be completely real… but Marvel is insanely good at keeping things secret so it seems strange to see them put that much information out for a casting call. Second thing that makes me weary is the line in the piece that says Captain America and Iron Man are feuding over the Superhuman Registration Act. Now that is what they feuded over in the comic series, but in the Marvel Cinematic Universe there really is no one to register. It’s not like New York is full of costumed adventurers so my thought is they will be fighting over something different in the film. And throw in the fact that the casting call says they answer to SHIELD which is in pieces…. so we’ll see how this story develops.

  1. is Zemo a big enough villain to become the new head of HYDRA?

  2. Yep he is, Red Skull was his boss I think but Zemo (and later his son) are big villains in the Cap comics.

  3. crap, i thought HYDRA was finally defeated but if he becomes the new head it'll feel like HYDRA will never be destroyed and that's a scary and horrifying thought isn't it?

  4. Cut of one head, two more shall take it's place.. But also Zemo was involved in other evil organisations like the Masters of Evil so its possible if he is going to turn up its not Hydra related.

  5. I wonder if in relation to the superhero act, the inhumans start to play a role? When's Cap 3 planned for?

The Inhumans film isn't till 2018.

I have seen a theory that Agents Of Shield could include a terrigen mist event as the season final though. With season 3 revolving around people breaking out with powers.

  8. yeah but how many heads could HYDRA possibly have, at one point it has to be destroyed once and for all right?

  9. you mean a worldwide Terrigen Mist event? because Skye and raina were exposed to the Mist in the mid-season finale

Yeah. Something to bring forth a large number of super powered beings.

Age of Ultron is meant to bring some out who have been operating in secret (Black Panther being one). While the Netflix series is also going to introduce some others. (By Captain America 3 we'll have 2-3 of the series).

But a large terrigen mist event with people breaking out all over the world could potentially justify the Civil War while laying a lot of foundation for the Inhumans film to pick up on.

  11. It always seem to come back in the comics, but then nothing or no one stays dead in the comics..

  12. so basically they'll always have to look over their shoulders?

  13. nice theory, could be possible, scary thought but possible

  14. Inhumans popping up all over the world would be an amazing way to justify introducing Superhero Registration Act. Just imagine, thousand of people suddenly develop powers that they can't/don't know how to control. You WOULD want to know who they are.

  15. and IT would cause worldwide panic wouldn't it?

  16. Finally someone who spells his name right. ;) But what is it with german actors always playing the nazi villain? That's so predictable.

  17. comimc and movies are a different thing, i think and hope too that Hydra is going to have an end. And who know maybe in 10 years there's gonna be a new Cap movie and Hydra is gonna return.

  18. I'm still not entirely sure that will end up being the MAIN plot for the movie...

I feel it's in CA:TWS where all the original plots and synopsis were a bit misleading seeing as a more appropriate title to what the movie did end up being was "Rise of Hydra"

Super curious about for Zemo though.
