JEFFREY DEAN MORGAN CAST AS A SERIES REGULAR ON THE CBS SUMMER DRAMA SERIES “EXTANT” FOR SEASON TWO

THIS JUST IN…

…From the CBS Television Network

Jan. 29, 2015 – Jeffrey Dean Morgan has been cast as a series regular in the CBS summer drama series EXTANT, starring Academy Award winner Halle Berry, from Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Television and CBS Television Studios. Morgan will play JD Richter, a roguish womanizer and a cop of the future who is a mercenary/bounty hunter. He is free-wheeling, hard-drinking and fearless, bordering on reckless, mostly because he's got nothing to lose. He is the everyman who thought he had seen everything until Molly Woods (Halle Berry) enters his life. The second season will premiere in summer 2015.

EXTANT is a serialized mystery thriller about female astronaut Molly Woods, who discovers she has unwittingly put the human race on a path to destruction, and that she and a mysterious stranger may be the only hope for survival.

Morgan’s television credits include “Magic City,” “Grey’s Anatomy” and the upcoming miniseries “Texas Rising.” His feature film credits include “Watchmen,” “P.S. I Love You” and the upcoming “Bus 657,” alongside Robert DeNiro.

  1. Question to fans: should I watch it? I was going to last year but then the ratings were so underwhelming that I thought it was going to be cancelled and never bothered. Which other shows is it comparable with, just to see if I would like it?

  2. I watched the first 6 episodes and thought it was very interesting and her child really creeped me out but I just lost interested and I stopped bothering. That's just my opinion, I suggest you try it out and see for yourself :)

  3. Its starts strongly then kinda goes into stupor for 8 episodes but really picks up. Its one of those shows that worth all the groans and eye rolling in the end. The acting is good and it turns into a thriller/horror in the end.

I can only compare it to the 1st season of Under The Dome (suspense wise).

  4. Great news for them. If the show jumps 5+ years it could really be something this year..

  5. I'm intrigued to when they will go in this season 2.

  6. I really enjoyed it and now with papa Winchester it is going to be one of my favorites. Loved the effects and mystery of it.

  7. And what makes you think there's going to be a time jump?

  8. I dunno if fan is the right word lol, but I reviewed the show last summer. It's got a great cast and had some interesting ideas, but it didn't all hang together very well. Maybe this mini-reboot will help streamline things, though it seems bizarre to me how Molly's husband is being sidelined since their relationship was a major throughline of the first season.

  9. Don't tell me he's bringing Izzie Stevens with him lmao!

  10. They mentioned getting Etham a new body when he's older at some point and the way that it ended it would make sense. Plus, shit can't hit the fan again after like 6 months. But i think that all hinges on whether they think they'll get a 3rd season.
