23 Dec 2014

Update: 15:50 Looks like someone at the CW44 might be getting a talking to from someone higher up at the CW. We've just been contacted by our CW press representative and been told that both shows have not been officially renewed yet.

SpoilerTV has learned that The Flash and Jane the Virgin have both been renewed for second seasons by The CW. This was confirmed to us by CW44. We'll update with a press release when we get one.

    WOOHOO!
    Yay Jane!
    Yay Flash!

    ReplyDelete
  2. Marc will be pleased LOL! Yay for The Flash! Can't wait to read Marc's ''Recently renewed and Golden Globe Nominated'' lol

    ReplyDelete
  3. Yaaaay the flash although that is no surprise but JTV. WTF!!

    ReplyDelete
  4. WOW! That's an early christmas present!! Now the midseason schedule!!!!!! Sadly, it doesn't look very good for Reign!!

    ReplyDelete
  5. Yaaaaay! Hopefully The 100 fans will stop rooting against this show now.

    ReplyDelete
  6. In my opinion, they also could have renewed Arrow, which is the most certain of the other ones!!

    ReplyDelete
  7. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 13:56

It probably has been. These are just the only 2 we've heard about so far.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yes, you have a point, since there is no press release!! I hope they also announce the midseason schedule!!

    ReplyDelete
  9. Arrow, The Vampire Diares, The Originals and Supernatural are certain. Now we have to wait for The 100 and Reign. Go The 100!

    ReplyDelete
  10. Is it mean to hope, that TVD and SPN end because of the contracts, so Reign and The 100 can be renewed??

    ReplyDelete
  11. SPN actors have already confirmed that if S11 were to happen, they will stay. So regardless of contracts, there is no one wanting to leave that show and no one wanting to cancel it.

TVD however has STILL not locked Ian Somerhalder in, so they might cancel if he truly leaves the show. They've fallen to the middle of the pack ratings-wise, and I can't imagine the kind of catastrophic fall they'd see if they did a season without Damon.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Despite the terrible ratings, the CW would have been fools not to renew JTV, rarely do they get a show with that much critical love.

    ReplyDelete
  13. That's great and stuff, but CW where is your midseason schedule?! I want to watch The Messengers so badly! When does it air?!

    ReplyDelete
  14. Well, here's to hoping, BATB, HOD, and TVD end, so the other shows get renewed!!

    ReplyDelete
  15. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 14:08

Considering how the Tampa Affiliate worded their article 2 days ago, it sounds like even they have yet to receive the mid-season schedule:
    http://cwtampa.cbslocal.com/2014/12/22/the-4-whats-to-come-in-2015-on-cw44/

(They also accidentally leaked the renewals which one of the SpoilerTV admins has since confirmed with The CW)

CW needs put some show on 22h.
    example

    The Flash
    Supernatural
    The messengers

    ReplyDelete
  17. YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  18. Great news for The Flash, but the Jane the Virgin renewal makes me scared for The 100. I need a third season of that show!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Not too surprising, but well done to both.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Was Jane in competition with the 100? I always thought it was Reign vs Jane & The 100 vs Izombie/Messengers

    ReplyDelete
  21. This has to be the earliest 1 season renewal order. Congrats to the people on both shows!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Happy for both of them.

But i am scared for my favorite Reign and The 100 now

    ReplyDelete
  23. All 3 are competition, well until now.

    ReplyDelete
  24. So good news, the Cancellation Bear will have to completely
rewrite his post this morning. The Flash was obvious and although I don’t watch
the show, I’m all for keeping comic book night going. (Not home Tuesday nights
and can only watch so much stuff on demand the next morning.) Jane surprises
me, but it’s a good surprise. I thought they would wait at least to see if the
    show wins a Golden Globe.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Why would they? Now it means they're more threatened because they're in even more danger than before.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I am not sure, but they do affect one another.

    ReplyDelete
  27. It's all competition, this just means it's even tighter than before.

    ReplyDelete
  28. CW you stupid muguls! JTV will finish the season poorly, this is just usless pushing.
This puts Reign and The100 into the danger zone

    ReplyDelete
  29. HoD is almost absolutely going to end, and BatB is not contending for a weekday primetime spot anyway. TVD is really the only major show on the fence, and I could see them cancelling it in favor of the SPN spinoff or Arrow spinoff they've got in development right now.

    ReplyDelete
  30. This is amazing and before all the others this comes as a shock but a good one I think we are getting the the schedule as well today.

    ReplyDelete
  31. That's very surprising that JtV is one of the first two renewals of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  32. They are all in competition. But are they competing for the same spot is the question. I would say a certain type of shows are in competition. Like i would say Reign/Jane/HOD/maybe even BATB one never knows with that show are in a competition for a spot. And then we have the the 100/Izombie/Messengers for another spot.. I wouldnt think that a show like Jane or Reign would ever be put behind Arrow/Flash. They gonna put something male-skewing behind those two shows.

    ReplyDelete
  33. You never know what CBS is gonna say with BATB or if they chose BATB over Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  34. JTV is that good? Contemplating to watch it but trailer looks boring...

    ReplyDelete
  35. critically acclaimed & now Golden Globe nominated.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I agree that Jane's renewal comes too early, but perhaps the CW wants to give it some time to grow. However, it could easily be the next Reign or BatB that will collapse in its second season. It's likely the GG nomination had something to do with it, and also the fact that Mark Pedowitz seems to love the show.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I was a fan of both so I was kinda rooting for both.

    ReplyDelete
  38. As excited as I am for iZombie and as much as I'd like to check out The Messengers, I'm really hoping they bomb. They're just not worth The 100 not being renewed for me.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 14:33

It has a charm to it. I wouldn't say it's the most amazing thing on TV, but it's worth giving it the 4 episode test.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Not necessarily. For all its critical acclaim, JTV is not delivering in ratings, so they could move them to Fridays next year. It still keeps their "Golden Globe Nominated" show on the roster, while freeing up primetime spots for shows that bring in more cash.

    ReplyDelete
  41. i am hoping for those 4 cancellations now :

    1. BatB
    2. HoD (one of my favorites, but it is time for it to go
    3. The Messengers (i am more excited for iZombie)
    4. TVD/Supernatural (those 2 are nowhere near as amazing as they used to be, so i would like for them to end, but with proper ending of course, it would be huge shame if they ended out of nowhere)

    ReplyDelete
  42. I am a no apologies JANE fan!!!!! Best Christmas present.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Yeah, but that's still competition, it means less space for the schedule next season and that's also taking new shows for next season too.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Does anyone think we might get some more news from the Cw today such as midseason and some more renewals maybe a cancelation?

    ReplyDelete
  45. They'll probably save cancellations for the Spring, there might be some more early renewals though.

    ReplyDelete
  46. i am really hoping for mid-season schedule.

And renewals? too hard since those 2 came out of nowhere . Nobody was expecting them until February like CW usually renews their biggest hits. But since they started already, maybe they will also renew Arrow/Supernatural/TVD/TO soon

    ReplyDelete
  47. Such great news about JaneThe Virgin! My early Christmas present! Luvit!

    ReplyDelete
  48. This is great for them and all... but the 100 is just too damn good to be cancelled. They have so much more story to tell. While I've seen only episodes here and there of (Jane Flash Arrow SPN) 2 seasons of TVD and 1 season of TO..... Nothing I have EVER seen compares to these 8 episodes of Season 2 of the 100. I really hope despite not having "critical acclaim" like Jane... The CW will see how special the 100 is

    ReplyDelete
  49. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 14:48

Probably not. These most likely weren't meant to get out just yet.

The Tampa Affiliate mentioned they had been renewed ( http://cwtampa.cbslocal.com/2014/12/22/the-4-whats-to-come-in-2015-on-cw44/ ) accidentally. One of the SpoilerTV admin staff asked for confirmation and they confirmed it.

    ReplyDelete
  50. What about the midseason schedule do you think that might be released?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I hate they are repeatibg these mistakes. Reign isn't falling really apart but isn't doing great not expected. Reign maybe wouldn't be renewed if they waited till the end. I'm glad tey didn't. Still waiting for the official confirmation.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 14:58

Not sure, but probably not till the new year.

The Tampa Affiliate made it sound like they don't know when iZombie and The Messengers will begin. So I assume they haven't been told the midseason schedule either.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Good for both shows but they better renewed The 100

    ReplyDelete
  54. Really??????????????OMG, so happy, specially for Jane.

    ReplyDelete
  55. good for jtv.
this makes for midseason shows a lot more hard for their renewals and reign .

    ReplyDelete
  56. already?

    Good news though, understandable btw.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I read about that I live in Florida I've something about wish tv or something does that mean the shows are changing to a different channel?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Great for Jane, but Reign and The 100 will now have harder roads ahead to get renewed

    ReplyDelete
  59. they better not cancel the 100!!!

    ReplyDelete
  60. The CW was the most successful network this fall.

2 for 2 with their new shows. Let's hope their mid-season lineup is as successful!

    ReplyDelete
  61. I was thinking the same thing. The 100 might be OK because it has a limited episode order each season.

    ReplyDelete
  62. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 15:11

No it's the same channel. Just different affiliates air it in different areas (with slight variations due to region).

    ReplyDelete
  63. do u think we will hear anything abt midseason schedule today??

    ReplyDelete
  64. I think The 100 will be renewed. The show has steady numbers compared to other shows and this may be BaTB last season, so as HOD. The 100 has good chances to come back next year.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I hope so, it can share its timeslot easily so it can be renewed for that reason, but it is still a bit worriesome. I hope it can tick up to 0.7 when it returns so it can be safe, but 0.6 is more likely... I just hope that is enough

    ReplyDelete
  66. Good for Jane! I hope this isn't Reign 2.0 though – early renewal then ratings collapse.

    ReplyDelete
  67. I hope you are right, I really want to see it coming back!

    ReplyDelete
  68. Hopefully, I'd love to hear the general decisions already btw.

Arrow, Supernatural, Originals needs be be renewed ASAP

    ReplyDelete
  69. turns it from Reign vs. JtV vs. 100 to Reign vs. TO vs. 100

    ReplyDelete
  70. Guys, what is CW44??? Is it a reliable source?

    ReplyDelete
  71. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 15:21

It's the Tampa Affiliate. They mentioned the renewal in this article: http://cwtampa.cbslocal.com/2014/12/22/the-4-whats-to-come-in-2015-on-cw44/

Which led one of the admin staff to ask if it was true. They confirmed that it was.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I'm glad for Jane, mbut can't help wonder if this is right.Woukdntvtheyve also announced SPN,Arrow,VD ,TO renewals?Plus,CW hasn't done early renewals in Ded before. Also, last week,Pedowitz said Janes ratings aren't where CW wants them to be and was cagey on if he'd give Jane an early renewal.I know Jane got a GG non but what's Pedowitz Gounod to do when Janes ratings go back to below a million Viewrs and 0.2-9.3 in spring?

    ReplyDelete
  73. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 15:23

It probably wasn't meant to be released this early.
The Tampa Affiliate mentioned it in an article: http://cwtampa.cbslocal.com/2014/12/22/the-4-whats-to-come-in-2015-on-cw44/

Which led to one of the admin staff asking them if it was true. They confirmed that it was.
I assume more have been renewed, but these 2 just leaked out early.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 15:25

Yeah. It's so hard to decide which of the 3 I'll miss more :(

    ReplyDelete
  75. TO would be the only one I'd miss

    ReplyDelete
  76. Thank you very much for your answer!!!

    ReplyDelete
  77. couldnt agree more. lets hope jtv doent bite cw's ass like reign did last year.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Well CBS would have insisted that one of their low rated shows be renewed. I guess Jane with the nomination was the best pick.

    ReplyDelete
  79. if that were true then things dont look good for reign

    ReplyDelete
  80. Keep in mind nothing has to get cancelled and if anything it will be iZombie, Beauty and the Beast, Reign, The Messengers, and Hart of Dixie.

( Arrow, Jane the Virgin, Supernatural, The 100, The Flash, The Originals, and The Vampire Diaries are sure things IMHO )

    ReplyDelete
  81. I hope you are right about The 100, I need that show in my life!

    ReplyDelete
  82. I think Tzo,SPN,Arrow,Reign,VD get renewed BatB,HoD,the 100 cancelled and one of IZombie,Messngers ,renewed

    ReplyDelete
  83. i love The 100, but it's renewal is definitely not sure thing

    ReplyDelete
  84. no surprise The Flash got renewed with the amazingly crazy ratings it's been getting but AWESOME EITHER WAY HELL YEAH WHOOOOOOOOOO!!! now come on The Originals please get renewed, Supernatural and The Vampire Diaries also get renewed

    ReplyDelete
  85. What?!?!?!? Not renewed for season 2? What happened?

    ReplyDelete
  86. Jean-Maxime Renault23 December 2014 at 15:52

Still waiting for a confirmation though, from a real media outlet...

    ReplyDelete
  87. What are you talking about?

    ReplyDelete
  88. Don't worry guys: I'm sure both of them will be renewed next year.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Hmm, alright, I'll give it a watch and see. Thanks guys.

    ReplyDelete
  90. Aww man I got all excited for nothing!

    ReplyDelete
  91. Look at the headline!

    ReplyDelete
  92. The one at CW44 who confirmed those seconds seasons must be getting yelled at right now

    ReplyDelete
  93. Well deserved though...

    ReplyDelete
  94. Ah,had to refresh.

    ReplyDelete
  95. I'm still comsidering them to be renewed. That's just the CW trying to make sre that they are the ones to give the info, as well as to give time to prepare PRs, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  96. Looks like someone from The CW's Tampa affiliate is getting fired.

    Calling HR department...

    ReplyDelete
  97. With The Flash it doesn't really matter because it is a sure thing, but Jane fans must really bummed, so yeah, well deserved

    ReplyDelete
  98. I think someone confused 'back-9' and 'renewed' haha! Both will most likely eventually get renewed in any case though.

    ReplyDelete
  99. Christopher DeBono23 December 2014 at 16:14

Yeah that's what I think now.
I'm kinda surprised that both the CW44 article writer and whoever mans the emails both mentioned it.

If it was 1 I'd write it off as a junior staff member making a mistake but 2?
I figure they'd know the difference.

    ReplyDelete
  100. It's like Marc Berman who always talks about a "full-season renewal".

    ReplyDelete
  101. It seems odd, if the Flash does not get renewed though.

    ReplyDelete
  102. It likely will, just not yet.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Although it's not like it's going to be wrong. Flash will definitely be renewed and given that I guess Jane the Virgin is up for a Golden Globe, I'd say that buys it at least a 13 episode 2nd season.

    ReplyDelete
  104. Not yet, but they will be. So will Arrow, Supernatural, The Vampire Diaries, The Originals and probably Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  105. Interesting... If Jane gets renewed it is for sure Golden Globe effect

    ReplyDelete
  106. I believe/hope the news is/turns out to be true,i'm keeping my fingers crossed! The guy shouldn't have leaked this info so early though!

    ReplyDelete
  107. If The CW will not renew The 100 i just stop watch them forever!
The 100 is one of the best shows on THE DAMM CW!
better then TVD,SPN,JTV,ARROW and everything from last year!
    just, Renew this bitches!
Its very popular in the world!
i know some countries that is on ther and its a succsesful show!

    ReplyDelete
  108. They are trying to make JTV look good by renewing it with The Flash, as they did last year with Reign.

    ReplyDelete
  109. EVen if this is true, there's still hope for The 100. We all thought Jane would get renewed anyway, because of it's GG nominations. There's still Reign, Heart of Dixie, Beauty and the Beast, and the 2 new midseason shows that can gets canceled over The 100.

    ReplyDelete
  110. no one else was reporting it so I figured it was probably a bit premature. The Flash will definitely be renewed. JTV may get a renew off the back of the GG noms but CW will look mighty silly if they renew for a season only for the ratings to crash in the spring.

    ReplyDelete
  111. HAHA the comments of ppl getting excited bout The Flash being renewed when it hasn't even been picked up for full season yet lol. Can't wait to see the reactions of those who commented earlier to realize this isn't true yet lmao.

Next month CW will announce The Flash got picked up for full season. This is exactly how they did with S1 of Arrow

    ReplyDelete
  112. Umm FlSh was given a full first season in Nov

    ReplyDelete
  113. For reals? i would of know of this

    ReplyDelete
  114. Ok thanks. i re edited my comment. I still believe next month CW will do the same move they did for Arrow S1!

    ReplyDelete
  115. Yes,Flash will get an early renewal like Arrow did but not til Feb usually

    ReplyDelete
  116. Never gonna happen.Jane has critucal acclaim, just got CW thier first GG non,has great retention outvof it's leadin and it's cheap to produce.

    ReplyDelete
  117. They wnt cancel anything til May and before then only if one of the Midseason shows are Cult 2.0

    ReplyDelete
  118. True, but still not fair to Jane the Virgin. It's a surprisingly pretty good show.

    ReplyDelete
  119. How will the CW look if they cancel JTV in May and than Gina Rodriguez and/or the show get Emmy nomination(s) in July. I think the CW would look worse in that scenario but you have a point that perhaps the renewal should be for 13 episodes and not a full season just in case the ratings completely tank in season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  120. It's actually a pretty fun show. Also, it got a lot of positive reviews if I'm not mistaken. :)

    ReplyDelete
  121. Hell yeah Flash!!! I knew it! Great news. Merry Christmas indeed.

    ReplyDelete
  122. Retread the headline-neither was actually officially renewed yet.The sites made a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  123. Ah, now THAT makes more sense. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  124. Last year the early renewals were announced on jan 10,the year before jan 11.

    ReplyDelete
  125. I disagree about Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  126. No.Last year the early renewals were on Feb 13 -Arrow,VD,SPN,TO,Reign.CW usually does thier early renewals in Feb.

    ReplyDelete
  127. Nope.I noted it down in my diary for the last 2 years.Check ur source.Anyway,Jan 11 is my birthday,so no chance of forgetting that date.

    ReplyDelete
  128. Ya-just checked it,my bad.Anyway,The Flash is a lock for renewal.JtV,on the hand,is in bubble status.

    ReplyDelete
  129. I checked Wiki and Tvline,Spoikertv, tvbtn all say Feb 13 last season, i Rember cause it was the day before Valentines.Check your source.

    ReplyDelete
  130. Jane will likey be renewed due to critucal acclaim along with TO,Reign,VD,SPN,Arrow,Flash.Though I can see Jane bring being cancelled ifit dosent grow it's ratings ,dosent win the GG or it's rating fall to 0.2-0.3 in spring.

    ReplyDelete
  131. I saw someone wrote GG awards will be announced in july.It would be very awkward if they cancel it in may & then they will the award 2 months later. The smart thing would be to renew it for 13 episode 2nd season if it holds moderately steady for the rest of the season. If it crashes completely, cancel it then.No harm,no foul.

    ReplyDelete
  132. ah.Im p don't pay attention to GG so I'm not sure when they air.But I say Jane is more Likley renewd than cancelled but like I said ,I can see it being cancelled too if it's ratings drop much in spring,GG non or not.Since its CBs distrubted but a co production if WB /CBS ,it'll help Janes case if BatB is cancelled and Messengers flops.

    ReplyDelete
  133. we aall know The Flash is getting even a 3 season xD. JtV is fighting for it.

    ReplyDelete
  134. The Flash is for sure getting a renewal pretty soon, and i think JTV too.

    ReplyDelete
  135. Nothing was renewed yet wow

    ReplyDelete
  136. TO would be the only one I would NOT miss

    ReplyDelete
  137. and think TO is very far from certain

    ReplyDelete
  138. TO is a certain renewal-it's improving Mon nights,it's the fifth highest rated show right now and rating better than The 100,Jane,Reign,HoD.Plus,CW wouldn't have given it tie in nivels & a web series just to cancel it.Plus it got a Emmy non or win , for hair. Its halfway to syndication and CW has never cancelled a show at 44 episodes before.Batzb,HoD are most Likley ending and one or both Midseason show could flop, giving TO a better shot at renewal.

    ReplyDelete
  139. Jannnnnne yesssss.

    ReplyDelete
  140. I read on wiki or somewhere that the GG are Jan 11,2015

    ReplyDelete
  141. please?? Reign rewened?? never gonna happen

    ReplyDelete
  142. Yes.BatB,HoD are most Likley in thier final seasons,Reign is a cheap international co production and halfway to syndication and CW has never cancelled a show at 44 episodes plus both Midseason could -and Likley will with Czw history -flop and Czw can't cancel everything.Plus Reigns getting better ratings in season two than BatB did and that was renewed.Four years ago, everyone said HoD would be cancelled,Secret Circle renewed but the opposite happened.Last season, everyone predicted Reign would be DOA but it wasn't.Last spring ,everyone said BatB would be cancelled ,but it was renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  143. One had a heart attack reading this. I was like "NOOOO FUCKKK IZOMBIE BABY!" then read the article and was like thank f*ck.

    ReplyDelete
  144. Yes.HoD,BatB both are most Likley in thier final seasons so that's two slots Czw has to fill next season plus if both Midseason shows flop-with CWs history is very possible-then that's four spots and CW usually only cancels four or five shows. Then look at Jane not doing that well in ratings-no better in season one than Reign in season two meaning its season two ratings will be Evrn lower/worse than Reigns-and I'm not 100% sure that critical acclaim will save Jane if it's ratings fall further in spring ,which is very Likley..Reign is halfway to syndication and so far CW hasn't cancelled a show at that point .Reigns season two ratings are better than BatB and that was renewd,Reign is a cheap international co production and also has DVD,tie in novels sales to help make money.Come spring,HoD,Reign,HoD,Jane are gonna be doing the same ratings Reign is now.CW always starts the fall with six scripted vetran/returning series.next season that will be -Arrow,Fladh,SPN,VD,TO, and Likley Reign.CW dosent want all genre shows and Reign isn't a genre show too so that's in it's favor. Finally, last season everyone was saying "BatB is so dead,BatB is getting cancelled for sure,""No way BatB gets renewed" , but it did,Last season,Eveyone predicted Reign would be DOA but it wasn't.Four years ago, everyone predicted HoD would be cancelled,Secret Cricle renewed but instead ,the opposite happened.Plus,Reign is still doing well in CWs target audience of A18-34& W18-34& has deccent DVr numbers for CW.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Also,CW seems to support Reign & Jane more than some of thier other shows.I strongly think Reign gets renewed even if it's for a short third final season ala BatB.

    ReplyDelete
  146. Ya,u're right.I checked it out later too. That should help CW in case of JtV's pending fate.
