It's a Dawson's Creek reunion...in the very last place you'd expect to see a Dawson's Creek reunion!
E! Online can exclusively reveal that Kerr Smith, who played Jack McPhee on Kevin Williamson's WB drama, is heading to the showrunner's newest drama, the CBS thriller Stalker.
Smith will play John Bardo, a well-respected news anchor who rebuilt his life and career after a stalking incident years ago. Now Don is being terrorized again. Is it his past stalker who was recently released from prison or is Don the victim of a new obsession?
Smith will appear in episode 13, "The News," which will air in January.
E! has also learned that The Originals star Phoebe Tonkin is shedding her CW image to appear on Stalker, as well. Tonkin, who currently plays a vampire/werewolf hybrid on the spinoff series of another of Williamson's hit shows, The Vampire Diaries, will play Nicole Clark, a lifeguard whose world is thrown into turmoil when she becomes the obsession of a mysterious stalker.
Tonkin will show up in the episode after Smith's, titled "My Hero," which will also air in January.

ReplyDeleteThis seasons biggest downside is her journey, something no good actors could save...and since she's far from a good actress things are getting worse and worse.
Yahoo !! Looking forward to the episode where Phoebe Tonkin makes an appearance. The character Hayley Marshall on The Originals is accurately portrayed. I love her.

ReplyDeleteDoubt one guest star role means she's being written out. Gillies appears in Saving Hope as a series regular and still appears in all episodes of The Originals.
ReplyDeleteMany show runners do this with actors and actresses they've worked this before. They have a guest role they're casting and realise an actress they've worked with before would fit the role, and give them a call. Plus she was the best thing about The Secret Circle, so it's no surprise KW called her into TVD, and now this.

ReplyDeleteYes but the difference is that PT is just so talentless that it's actually hurtful to watch her "act". BTW, it wasn't hard to look good on TSC among all the teenage actors. I watched the show and I disliked Faye so much because she was such an annoying brat - no wonder why this show got picked up by CW and not the other networks. I only found Shelley H. and Chris Zylka talented enough.

Well that's your opinion, which you're welcome to have. But I personally don't see everyone's issue with her acting. I'm not exactly about to start calling for an Emmy, but she's not as horrible as everyone claims. And I love how one allegedly mediocre actress is the cause of a shows ratings decline. If you're a real fan of a show you don't give up so easily. And I don't see TO ending, the CW has a total boner for JP. It'll run as long as TVD most likely. Or last one season on its own, but of course if it ends its all Phoebe Tonkin's fault.

ReplyDeleteI hated Faye too and couldn't stand The Secret Circle because of it and stopped watching long before it was canceled. I was willing to believe it was just a character but after seeing Phoebe on both TVD and TO, I can safely say it's her, she's just terrible, lol.

ReplyDeleteif it ends it will be because of JP & co. they failed this show so badly. TVD once was the golden child of the CW but surely not anymore. Arrow & The Flash took over that place. SPN is doing better as well, JtV got nominated for the Globes and The 100 is critically acclaimed and makes the most media buzz.
ReplyDeletei will never understand why they held onto DG so badly. Instead of DG they should have casted NateBuzz as Kol. He was a fanfav and an interesting character. Nate had no commitment to any other shows. And DG could have guest starred.
ReplyDeleteGreat casting. Phoebe was my favorite part of "The Secret Circle". Now Williamson needs to call some Scream/I Know What You Did Last Summer alums like Neve Campbell, Sarah Michelle Gellar or Jennifer Love Hewitt.

True. So if they're willing to write around Gillies schedule for an entire show, I'm sure they're able to write around Tonkin appearing in one episode of another show.
ReplyDeleteyeah, i mean at this point Elijah is probably the only thing on the show that makes me still care and it's all because of DG. He is such a talented actor because most of the material he gets is so shitty and I'm just happy Elijah's role isn't revolved around Hayley anymore. Now it's Klaus who has to bite the bullet...

ReplyDeletePhoebe Tonkin was easily the best part of Secret Circle. Thomas Dekker and Britt Robertson, though, were horrible, as was Chris Zylka.
ReplyDeleteYou do realize that guest stars are typically cast without audition, right? If a guest star has a name, they're typically hired for that name, especially if they're only going to be in one episode. Plus, WB produces both Stalker and The Originals, so it's not like they would put her (or anyone else in their family) through a tough audition process for some bit part on a soon-to-be-cancelled procedural.

ReplyDeleteClaire should be the female lead. She chosed to left and be a guest star and it was a huge loss for TO. No one can replace her. Calling Candice a disaster make no sense, she can't do her best somethimes, but Phoebe is horrible in every single episode.
