I expect Prince Telemon to return to redeem himself for his betrayal. I have a feeling he had a change of heart which is why he did not kill the Queen. I doubt Pasiphae is dead! likely wounded. And damn it looks like a main supporting character will be gone

  2. Loved the episode a lot!

I still don't understand how Jason can kiss Medea in one of the upcoming episodes, though. In today's entire episode, he kept protecting and looking after Ariadne. Everyone noticed how much Jason and Ariadne love each other. Yet, he is kissing Medea in an upcoming episode? He knows that Medea is evil. That Medea is trying to kill Ariadne. Why kiss her? Makes no sense at all. And neither do the promo pix of Jason/Medea growing closer in episode 5. This is right after she basically tries to kill Ariadne...

    Oh well.

  3. Love Vincent Regan, he has been one of the best parts of the season so far for me. I had thought that he would be a nefarious character when I heard that he had been cast, so I was pleasantly surprised to see him as Dion. Really been enjoying him at court, I think he's been a real asset to the show.

  4. It was a good episode I thought, I'm enjoying the ongoing saga feel to the story this year, it works really well with the Greek myths idea. I also liked that Ariadne wasn't just a damsel in distress that needed Jason to protect her once the **** hit the fan either, she also got stuck in with the fighting and even saved him, and the others. That balance is needed imo. Her chat with Eurydice was also just as important and revealing as Jason;s were with Orpheus in that respect too.

  5. Just caught up with this.

I'm still missing the humour and I don't think that will change but it was really nice to see Ariadne out of that palace for a change and being more pro-active, it can make all the difference to how you feel about a character. I think part of the problem for Ariadne and Jason is that they tend to spend a lot of time just looking worried about things, rather than having a variety of emotions to portray, if that makes sense?

I enjoyed the scenes with Eurydice and Orpheus and their little chats with Jason and Ariadne..

I do feel that Pythagorous has been a little neglected so far this series - at the side of what he had to do in series 1 - so I hope that his secondary storyline comes into play quite soon.
Will Prince Telemon return and will he return to redeem himself?

I enjoyed Vincent Regan's character, it's a shame he's gone, I thought he was great in The musketeers as well.

  6. I think you have hit the nail on the head with Jason and Ariadne for me there, it doesn't feel like a very complex relationship with layers to it. This episode did help she character a lot, like you say, getting her out of her palace and doing something more than standing around looking concerned while others do everything for her made a huge difference. Hopefully the time in the death caves will have the same effect in the next episode too - I haven't had a chance to watch it yet due to the busy week!

  7. I loved Ariadne in the fierce mode! She's awesome! Loved the talk between Jason and Ariadne where she told him that her father taught her how to use a bow. Just seeing the tougher/stronger side of Ariadne is a true joy. And yes, I loved the moment when she actually saved Jason for a change!

I'm just loving the bigger role that Ariadne has in this season. Aisha is just shining!

  8. Are they setting things up so that Jason takes over Dion's role as leader of the army / royal guard, and Ariadne's chief protector? Dion clearly holds / held Jason in high regard, persuading Ariadne to appoint him her champion for the Games, expressing relief that Jason was coming along on the perilous journey with them and then giving him the responsibility of getting Ariadne home safely. Perhaps Dion had already got Jason earmarked as a possible successor? Taking over that function would allow Jason to stay close to Ariadne in a vital capacity, even if he cannot be romantically involved with her.

  9. Ahh, that's very possible, it makes sense doesn't it. I hope that works well for the show dynamically, it could be a bit of a risk as I don't think he has quite the same presence that has Regan as an actor. It could mean that we get some episodes that are lighter in tone though perhaps. I have enjoyed the past few, but it does seem like they have dropped much of the humour altogether somewhat.
