  2. Ummmm..... what?!!!!
No no no no just NO!
He didn't do it! He was talking to Barry when she was murdered. He's being framed OR Thea is being framed and since they're siblings her DNA was close to his. Either way, he didn't do it! And if they tried to pass it as him being under the influence of Vertigo (and that's why Vertigo is back in Canaries) I will never forgive them! Is that why they randomly made him call Laurel when she was meeting Sara?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Wow Wow Wow! Wednesday can't come soon enough.

Of course Oliver didn't kill Sara but don't know why they keep misleading us.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Finally Laurel tells the truth! At least to her mother, but that must mean Quentin will soon know it too, right?

I've thought about Oliver under the influence of Vertigo in the season premiere. It was heavily rushed (like the rest of the premiere) so I didn't read too much into it but what if it had some side effects? What if Oliver killed Sara himself? It would be really bad, in my opinion. I'm still going with Slade.

    ReplyDelete
  5. hmmm, Ok, so to me, obviously it wasn't Oliver (He was with Barry at the time she was killed) so the DNA could have flagged Oliver (coz I'm assuming they have his DNA on file for whatever reason) as the closest match, because someone related to him did it. The closest match to Oliver's DNA - at this point - would be Thea OR his son - Oliver would do anything to protect her, even taking the blame in front a Ra's... My only issue is, what possible motive would Thea have to kill Sara? And his son's to young - presumably 8 or 9 (it's not been established how long before he disappeared that he knocked her up)... So unless Oliver has a twin or a sibling he didn't know about, the pool of suspects has drastically narrowed...

    ReplyDelete
  6. So I'm really beginning to think it was Thea

    ReplyDelete
  7. They said it was someone we knew. So Thea seems the most likely choice. But why?

    ReplyDelete
  8. It's looking more and more likely that Thea murdered Sara. Arrow is about to jump the shark.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Turning Merlyn's daughter into a villian is jumping the shark? I don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Well her mother doesn't have a heart condition does she?

    ReplyDelete
  11. Nothing Thea has done on this show has indicated that she would do something like that and she wasn't raised by Merlyn. If she did do it hopefully she was brainwashed or something.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Indeed she does not, but I will be really mad if she tells her mother and not her father. It's been long enough, Quentin needs to know!

    ReplyDelete
  13. I just keep thinking Maseo/Tatsu framing Oliver.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Of course Merlyn turning a daughter he's had a relationship with for a whopping 5 months (and who loathed him, btw) into a cold blooded murderer is jumping the shark. The show suddenly turning Thea into a cold blooded murderer AT ALL is jumping the shark.

If they wanted to turn Thea into a monstrous villain they needed to actually build up to it. It'd take a whole season of character development to make that kind of change anything but laughable.

    ReplyDelete
  15. That's what's confusing me, why would Thea come all the way back to Starling just to kill Sara, then head straight back to Corto? It makes no sense... unless it's all a frame up, knowing if Oliver thinks Thea did it, he'd offer himself up to Ra's in her place... Only person to think that twistedly would most likely be Malcolm, but again, why go to all that trouble?

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ok so stop watching if it happens.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ya he didn't train her intensively for like 6 months or anything

    ReplyDelete
  18. I know shows generally are not realistic with this type of thing but if the DNA was a positive match for Oliver specifically, like it seems to be, then it would not implicate Thea. Only nuclear DNA can identify an individual 100%, whereas mitochondrial DNA can identify a family through the maternal line (since Oliver and Thea have the same mother, they would have the same mitochondrial DNA.) If this DNA is implicating specifically Oliver, it has to be nuclear DNA and therefore could not be Thea. The show probably will not get this right though.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Learning how to fight does not equal becoming a cold blooded murderer, let alone someone who murders their friends/their good friend's sister/their brother's ex-girlfriend. It just means they can fight.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Also, until stated otherwise, neither Thea nor Merlyn were in Starling City when Sara was killed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. This. Nothing on the show has indicated she would be dark enough to murder Sara what soever. Learning to use a sword does not equal cold blooded murderer. if she is the murderer it would be for shock value without making sense.

Anyway I'm probably jumping the gun. it's probably not Thea but between this promo and the last I'm starting to think it might be her.

    ReplyDelete
  22. lol has this show gotten anything right? Last year they had Oliver's ex-girlfriend and close friend prosecute Moira as if they never heard of conflict of interest.

    ReplyDelete
  23. They are the worst with lawyer stuff. No wonder that MG failed as a lawyer.

    ReplyDelete
  24. I mean trailers are always misleading and it's getting a bit boring. Especially with the scene where we see Oliver goodbye hugging Thea,
Wouldn't be surprised that Malcolm tempered with the evidence and that he is working with Ra. Malcolm surely asked to be forgiven and what better way than killing the one who betrayed the League.

    ReplyDelete
  25. lol so true. But to be fair to Arrow, most shows get criminal and legal things wrong all the time. I doubt they would be concerned with the technicalities of DNA but the point I was making is that if DNA matches one person, it will only match one person and not their family. I agree that it seems like someone is setting Oliver up. So many things don't make sense about it, mostly the fact that they gave this away in a promo. I doubt it's true if they're giving us this information before the episode airs.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Well i think the Asian promos always spoil more. CW doesn't make the Asian promo.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I don't trust promos because they are misleading, you get information but without the context. Even if it isn't from the CW, they would never give away something as big as who killed Sara in a promo. I think Oliver turns himself in because Nyssa threatens to start killing people in Starling. Even if Oliver didn't do it, it seems realistic enough with his DNA there that he could prevent people from being killed.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I won't watch it. Don't want to be extremely spoiled, or better yet spoiled from here on out. I'll wait for the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  29. yeah, his DNA and Theas are the same, right?

Or they ressurected Moira or Robert.

OOOORRRR they just introduce another Queen sibling

    ReplyDelete
  30. that's a theory I actually didn't think about, maybe Tatsu died in Hong Kong and Maseo blames Oliver.

That'd be some kind of season 2-Slade rehash though

    ReplyDelete
  31. If Malcolm wanted to test Thea, (that's the most commented theory all over internet), she would have had to kill Thea. This would imply that the LoA would go after Thea; Oliver, wouldnt allow this so he would protect her as Malcolm wanted to. So Malcolm would gain Oliver as an ally vs LoA. That's what people are saying. I really do not think the writers would do something like this.

    ReplyDelete
  32. SHIELDNCISArrowfan8 December 2014 at 19:56

Oliver did not do it.........DNA is not the best evidence to prove who did it plus anyone can frame someone else for the crime. It obvious promo are designed to get viewer to watch

    ReplyDelete
  33. Nicolás Festa8 December 2014 at 20:00

I just hope they don't do the whole Batman-esque "Ra's is looking for an heir of the throne" and go for a more original thing. Doing all these things as tests to see if Ollie is worth of it.

Obviously someone put Oliver's DNA on the arrow. Now they won't know where to go with that lead, so when Nyssa gives him the ultimatum, Ollie will say it was him indeed in order to prevent the league to invade Starling(he has the arrow as proof).

Now i would prefer if Malcolm was behind everything and by the end Oliver and Ra's reach an understanding as frenemies that this being tests by Ra's to see if he's fit.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think @ODA is right, Malcome killed Sara by framing Thea and thus manipulating Oliver in challanging/taking care of Ra's .

    ReplyDelete
  35. I don't think its his son, because Sara recognized the person...maybe Malcom....

    ReplyDelete
  36. Rheinmeister09 .8 December 2014 at 22:42

Seems like the most plausible theory. Malcolm could have put it as a test for her to prove herself. She didn't know who she was killing - Sara was dead as far as everyone outside the inner circle was concerned. So Thea didn't know that Canary was Sara. It would sort of explain why the DNA is somewhat of a match to Oliver to throw us off the scent. And he goes to Ra's Al Ghul to protect her from being killed by him so he pretends it was him that killed Sara.

    ReplyDelete
  37. As much as I admire Ray's intentions, Oliver and Team Arrow have it covered.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Thea did it !!!!

    Her DNA matches Oliver's

    ReplyDelete
  39. So if Thea did kill Sara, does this mean she somehow turned into a crazy psycho path? Because she knew Sara and liked her as far as i remember . I mean , it nuts!

    ReplyDelete
  40. How can their DNA match, Thea is Malcolm's daughter so it wouldn't come from the same DNA pool. You take DNA from both parents so I don't see how it can be a close match.

    ReplyDelete
  41. I totally agree with you, I don't think the writers would go that route, coz its one thing to go from training someone to be a fighter, mentally and physically, to being a stone cold killer. And NOTHING in Thea's story line the entire run of the show would suggest she'd make that leap, in 6 months no less. Malcolm himself said killing Sara would be illogical. So unless drugs of some sort are involved, I don't see the writers doing that just for the shock value.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Right. Thea, the moral sister of Oliver did it. She may be Merlyn's daughter but she's not a killer. More important their half-siblings so only have of their DNA is similar. Even then siblings aren't genetically identical (well unless they're monozygotic twins).

    ReplyDelete
  43. True, but Quentin's like Oliver his life sucks in so many ways. I just hate seeing him suffer more. But he should know.

    ReplyDelete
  44. It's close to Oliver's and if it is hers I still say that she is being framed.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Honestly I still feel Ra's is the most likely, given he didn't regard her as a member of the league, she left them, is his daughter's weakness and distraction and she helped kill several league members. That and he's a vengeful asshole whose cruelty is near without limit. And it'd be a good way to drive into the comic characterization of Nyssa betraying and hating Ra's. Not to mention it would allow him to justify forcing Oliver to either hand Malcolm over or face him in combatant allowing him to test the archer's character and resolve should he ever need to eliminate Oliver. Oh and he's a batshit extreme eco-terrorist who wants to kill most of humanity off to save the Earth, and the corrupt cesspool that is Starling seems like a good target. That and Malcolm doesn't lie about his killings or has no real reason to kill Sara.

    ReplyDelete
  46. Lol Thea isn't that moral she best friends with a terrorist and doesn't seem to care about the hundreds of people he killed, but I agree, hope she didn't kill Sara, it would be character assassination

    ReplyDelete
  47. See the problem is Ra's al Ghul doesn't have friends like Oliver or in general, he only has servants, his blood and enemies. That and Malcolm doesn't really have any reason to kill Sara as it would only make things worse for him.

    ReplyDelete
  48. No. Katana isn't a bad person. Plus not an archer.

    ReplyDelete
  49. It won't happen. She's literally according to the writers a combination of Roy Harper/Mia Dearden so not gonna happen. That and it would make no sense and she wasn't even in America at that time.

    ReplyDelete
  50. haha, I was all for Ra's at the beginning and with yout theories your arguments and now this promo I can see Malcom beeing the one. But if it was Ra's his plan must be a different than manipulating Oliver into attacking Malcome since it does not seem to work.
BTW: From the Flashback last episode I had the impression Waller/Argus is trying to do to Oliver what Robert Queen did to him in the Outsiders war? Could it be possible that Amanda is training Oliver with a bigger goal?

    ReplyDelete
  51. My guess is still that the line after that is "from the Arrow."

    ReplyDelete
  52. If they go this way (which I hope they don't) I think they are going to fake it and say they didn't have a complete sample (Caitlin was "filling" stuff in), so there are familial markers not a actual match.

    ReplyDelete
  53. I could see it. But it he could also somehow learn if the league's attack.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I said it was a test not just to force him to actually hand Malcoln over. Again Malcolm makes absolutely no sense.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Oh sorry I meant Katana not Maseo. Possible I hope not though.

    ReplyDelete
  56. A stray observation, why do people snap at Felicity when they want information about Sara's killer?!

    ReplyDelete
  57. He's been planning for a while, so only to go after the league doesn't make sense, but fighting the league (and sundry others) makes sense--I don't think he's a bad guy I think he wants to make Starling a better place. I'd like the plot of his plan was to stop the Arrow and that's why he went after Oliver so directly with taking QC and manipulating Felicity. It would gel with them hitting the "Oliver is bad news" notes again so hard as well as the inspiration lines. But that's really just what I'd do to introduce Ray as a super hero (so probably not right).

    ReplyDelete
  58. sorry, on my cell I did not see that it was you who answered. So I thought ODA had changed her/his mind.
Well I was for Ra's orgininally. But I think that the arguments for Malcome do make sense. He is the type of person who always has an agenda even with his knew found daughter. Malcom went dark(er) because Moira had told Ra's he was alive and after the Undertaking Ra's wanted to punish Malcom. And what best way to get rid of Ra's or unwilling Allies if not manipulating Oliver into it, by making him believe Thea murdered Sara.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Yes because Malcolm would want to endanger his daughter or put anymore focus on her or himself from the league. Or better yet make him hate her by turning Oliver against her. It just doesn't make sense. There's too many risks, unknowns and potential dangers for someone like Malcolm to do it.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I'm starting to think that whoever it is that killed Sara, the rationale isn't going to make sense to me. Malcolm turning Thea on her makes no sense--he'd never put his daughter in LOA's crosshairs and even if he thought Ra's would like it, Nyssa certainly wouldn't and she is a formidable enemy on her own. Ra's has no reason to do it. Ra's might not have cared so much that Sara was dead, but again Nyssa did. And if he knew she was dead, why have Nyssa run off to find out what happened to her? Plus, their conversation at the end of the magician makes no sense if he had her killed. There is the very small logic of Thea did it on her own to "protect" Malcolm, but if they aren't making her a villain, I'm not sure she ever comes back from that and spoilers say she is supposed to be buddies with Felicity later in the season and that is just too many personality transplants for one character. Oliver didn't do it, he was on a rooftop with Barry with apparently Felicity listening in (did that reveal bug anyone else? She's "broken" up with a guy so she goes and follows him around rooftops eavesdropping? weird.) Felicity and Diggle didn't do it. Diggle was with Lyla and Felicity was skulking on rooftops (sigh). Laurel didn't do it, she was in the alleyway.

They've drug it on too long. Now, when they give me a crap answer I'm going to be annoyed, if they'd given me a crap answer 5 episodes ago I would have been all "Oh Arrow, your plotting is superficial and weak, oh well, the fights are good."

    ReplyDelete
  61. Yeah but on the other hand he would be the type who thinks he has everything under control. But anyways for the longest time I have been more for Ra's beeing the mastermind behind it and I like the idea of it beeing a test from Ra's. Either Ra's or ARGUS are training Oliver imo to become .... something else (no idea what)

    ReplyDelete
  62. Malcolm wouldn't risk his own flesh and blood though not after losing Tommy or Rebecca.

    ReplyDelete
  63. like the idea! At the beginning of the season I thought the twist on Ray would be he is actually a villain. But yours makes more sense. And remember that sentence about corrupting the best (was that Salde or Diggle?) and the camera shows Felicity.... if your idea turns out to be right, that would be so great planting by the writers.

    ReplyDelete
  64. true, but if he knows Ra's so well he probably would know that Ra's has had no love for Sara and thus would not expect much fuzz, except from Nyssa. Even if he had left the Leauge before Sara came, he seems to know a lot of things. In my impression Ra's is not after Oliver because he cannot actually find Saras killer but because he put Malcom under his protection and the murder is just an excuse (for Ra's).

    ReplyDelete
  65. In the preview, it looks like they have an actual match. Felicity doesn't say it's someone from Oliver's family, she says it's Oliver.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Why are you asking if I'm joking? A lot of people are thinking the same thing? Or if it's about Thea not being moral..well she's not.

    ReplyDelete
  67. mhhm it does make sense if Ra's is framing Oliver to draw him to him. ok I like this motive.

    ReplyDelete
  68. It bugged me too that Felicity looked like she was stalking him. BUT let's give them the benefit of the doubt. Maybe when he left the foundry his tracer activated and sent a notification to her so she was routinely checking on him to make sure that he is okay or if that he needs help (They are still partners no matter what happens) and accidentally heard them. Or maybe Oliver told her that Barry called him and that he's going to see him and she needs to listen in case he (Barry) needs their help. What's even more annoying is that she wasn't sure that Barry wasn't in a coma anymore when she told Ray. Like "Make up your mind, did she know or not!".

    ReplyDelete
  69. You are being too literal. I'm saying they can't get 100% match because they don't have 100% sample. Caitlin was interpolating the sample they had. This gives the writers an out if they want to say it "matches" Oliver, while still letting them have it "match" other family members. They are only looking at a partial sample. But in the end it is a comic book show, and they don't get science right.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Maseo is my theory, too. Otherwise it would make no sense to show him in present day Nanda Parbat IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I think they just didn't want to get into Oliver didn't keep a secret and why didn't we see the scene so they went, Oh Felicity overheard. :-) Without thinking about the structure of it. Oliver got the call when Felicity walked away from the kiss, so she would have had to turn around, eavesdrop on the call, and stalk after the guy the minute she said it's over and walked away? Awkward.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Well for the sake of our sanity and to keep enjoying the show let's pretend that we didn't notice all those plot holes :D I think they made Barry call Oliver in that particular moment so that he would have an alibi for Sara's murder and later decided that Felicity heard them to have her confirm it, but they didn't think it all the way through lol

    ReplyDelete
  73. LOL I can forgive a few unimportant plot holes. :-) These guys aren't the best, but they try and they mainly stick with things they can handle.

    ReplyDelete
  74. If you care, Im going to tell you this. Im amazed at how this show proves me wrong every single time; the only thing I knew was that Oliver would meet the mother of his child in Central City since they announced the flashbacks. Ive watched the whole show and interviews of the cast to try to guess which storylines they would play and get hyped about them. I always fail, although, i get even more hyped.
Season 1, I couldve bet my house that Merlyn was going to die and that Tommy would become the Dark Archer. Lost 20 bucks on a bet.
Season 2: I didnt have energies to make up my own theories because the writers just blew my mind every week.
    Season 3: DEAR LORD
Episode 1: Thought Komodo killed Sara. WRONG
Episode 2: Thought Merlyn killed Sara. WRONG
Episode 3: Thought Thea killed Sara. WRONG
Episode 4: Thought Merlyn again. WRONG AGAIN
Since episode 5, my bet was on HIVE. Then the producers said we already know who killed Sara.
As of now, Thinking it was Maseo and it is related to Katanna on flashbacks maybe ARGUS, maybe LoA.
Next week, all of my theories will be proven wrong.
Ive decided to stop thinking, and enjoy this FUCKING AWESOME SHOW!!! am i right?

    ReplyDelete
  75. Yes, I'm being way too technical and literal and the show won't get it right. My point was if Oliver is identified by name as the match, as he seems to be in the promo, the DNA sample (100% or not) would have to be nuclear DNA. Nuclear DNA shares some similarities with an individual's parents but it is the only DNA that can definitely point to one individual. If the DNA is able to match other family members then it would be mitochondrial DNA and would never point to Oliver specifically but rather to everyone in his maternal family line (Thea included.) It doesn't matter if the sample is 100% or not, the fact it implicates Oliver specifically would mean in real life that it is his DNA and no one else's DNA. But as you said, they most likely will not get this right in the show so they could use the "out" of having the DNA match a family member.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Well, thanks. But don't get attached, it's probably wrong. :-)

The Slade monologue with the camera cut to Felicity was "corrupt those he loves" and I think they finished that in the season 2 finale--it was still good planting though.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Also I wasn't saying that the show won't (or can't) do a DNA trick and have Oliver and Thea's DNA be similar. I was pointing out that the show, like every other show, would be misrepresenting DNA.

    ReplyDelete
  78. Even then she has no reason to kill Sara and wasn't even in America when she died. That's why people are asking it, because the theory just doesn't work.

That costume...isn't that the Chinese stealth suit from Fallout 3?

    ReplyDelete
  81. Don't read comics (just wikis for information sometimes, but can't find the one I found before)...isn't Katana in Birds of Prey? That's why I figured she wasn't dead...but if I am wrong, that changes things.

  82. Ambar Moreno Candelas9 December 2014 at 15:43

Ray teaches Felicity his hero costume? It's supposed to be a secret identity, is not? Ray is a fool?
Look who's next to Nyssa, interesting!
Oliver killed Sarah? :0 She broke up with him, Oliver did not take it very well... LOL No, seriously, that's ridiculous, although... This is Arrow... with crazy writers...

    ReplyDelete
  83. She'll apparently be in the present at some point.
