The Flash - Greg Berlanti Interview with TVLine

TVLINE | And time travel?
That is the one that we deal with directly in the winter. We, obviously, hint at it from the pilot episode. That is a big — “theme” is the wrong word for it — but that is a big part of the DNA of who The Flash was, so we do deal with that.

TVLINE | And with his suit being destroyed by the bomb, is now the time when you’re going to evolve his costume?
We’ll keep evolving it and tweaking it as we go. I think people are waiting to see when it’s going to be a white emblem versus a red.

TVLINE | We saw so many different abilities with the last episode — running on water, running up a building, changing his voice. Are there other special abilities still to come?
Oh, he has tons. Definitely. We’re holding back on some big ones still. He famously can phase through things. We haven’t seen him do that yet.

  1. If time travel plays a part, PLEASE let it be that kind of mind[frick] time travel. It could raise the series in making it a truly brilliant show.

  3. I know that the new Planet of the Apes films have raised the bar in terms of realism but I thought the prosthetics in the 2001 film were pretty damn good for a non-CGI effort. Actually, the prosthetics were the only good thing about that horrible film. I guess what I'm saying is that you don't have to break your SFX budget to bring on Gorilla Grodd but you will need a damn good actor to pull it off.

  4. If they actually deal with time travel and how it goes greatly with the dynamic between Flash and Reverse-Flash, it will be such a smart move for a TV series based on a comic book.

  5. I hope the confession to Iris is about him being The Flash and not about his feelings for her. I want her to know he is The Flash badly. Excited about time travel and what they will do with a gorilla.
