  1. going to betray Emma was saddening, she relly cares about her.

Yay! to Robin and Will banding together to help Regina and find out more about the Storybook.

"Your powers make you special, I wouldn't want you any other way" - Anna is the best sister ever :)

Seeing the secret room that Anna and Elsa werent allowed into looked so amzingly animated to me, it was a copy of Frozen's Arendelle mansion, so beautiful.

So many beautiful quotes during this episode, "I'm ordinary" "we are each given our own gifts, you have the heart of the truest believer" - Love the love between Regina and Henry.

Regina telling the Charmings to support Emma was so heartfelt, being special is awesome and Emma shouldn't let her powers go.

The mirror making all the subjects seeing only the worst, the mirror in Ingrid's room only saw pain and not hate or creulty. The spell of shattered sight used by the Nordic King is symbolically a nice reference to the original Snow Queen tale. The special effects of the shattered mirror going into Anna's eyes was really well done.

The universe listening to the wishes of good people and happiness and fate was really nice. What great dialouge tonight. Snow telling Regina that she's not all evil and she's not all good was really nice character development, she hasn't had much realization and this is really nice.

Rumple doesn't want to go in their, he's selfish, you sacrificed yourself but he still undid his good, the man who always choosed power, he loves Belle... So much character development, this episode is so amazing :)

Emma always does the right thing, don't change, I love the dialouge.

Seeing Anna and Elsa fight is heartbreaking. You must love yourself, Anna's acceptance wasn't enough, I am in awe of the amazingness of this episode!!!

Rumple wants a heart to use to seperate himself from the dagger, his oldest friend, Hook. This is so sad. Ingrid and Rumple both want a new start.

"An urn for a hat, as simpleas that! Say my name three times and I shall come to you, is this an Oz Reference by any chance?

Oh my god! Missing pages from the Storybook are in the library, you fate could go many ways, the destiny references are so cool!

The three ribbons and the hat. The sorcerer is so insightful, he knew of Emma before her birth, he may be the author of the storybook :)

Elsa saved Emma, like sisters. Ingrid is determined to bond three magical sisters since they embraced their powers, Rumple feel for that! I'm so worried for what will happen in the next two weeks!

So much happened I don't think I can note everything. Sorry for the long post, 2 hours is hard to condense into a short post :)

  2. Amazing love it best quotes Anna: Your powers make you special I wouldn't want you any other way Robin and Will banding together was cute and Robin why would a cat want a hat loved the scenes with Snow and Regina even though I think it was weird talking about sex consider Regina sort raise her loved that it was Elsa that told Emma that she needed to love herself and embrace who she is instead of running from it

    ReplyDelete
  3. So happy about Regina and Robin (although I couldn't help but feel like the dead people in the crypt were judging them. LOL). And I want more of Will.

I wish Anna and Elsa and Kristoff (seriously, where the hell is he in Storybrooke?) could stay. I'm going to miss them so much. And aww at Elsa helping out Emma and calming her down.

Rumple's in full on villain territory now, isn't he? Don't think he can come back from this.

    ReplyDelete
  4. REGINA AND ROBIN DID IT. IN HER FAMILY CRYPT. TWICE. GOD IS REAL, Y'ALL. GOD IS REAL.

    ReplyDelete
  5. Emma and Elsa have the best friendship ever. I'm really going to miss the Frozen characters when they leave.

Yay for Regina, she had adulterous sex with Robin. In a crypt. This
means she is redeemed and deserves a happy ending. Except for the part
where it's so so gross and so so wrong.

    ReplyDelete
  6. right? even mary margaret said the thing fans have been ignoring that they're adulteres

    ReplyDelete
  7. Great! I am really missing Belle, though. I wish they would involve her more instead of just mentioning her. :(

    ReplyDelete
  8. The commercials seemed ridiculously long. I felt like I was watching the Super Bowl. I think there could have been more content some scenes seemed too extended to me. But I guess that's what happens when you weren't expecting a 2 hr ep. I think it was a solid ep but I can't gush over it. And no belle! Jeez not even a glimpse while they were in the library....felt off. And poor Elsa. She just wants Anna!

    ReplyDelete
  9. In the pan days....

    ReplyDelete
  10. Okay, So I'm sure I'm going to get "hate" for this...but it needs to be said...

    Rumple...I want him dead...

    ReplyDelete
  11. you're finally at that point huh? yeah he needs to be gone

    ReplyDelete
  12. I only caught the first hour, but I liked what I saw so far it. I will watch the 2nd hour later this week!

I do love Rumplestiltskin though. I really liked his speech to Emma about himself.

    ReplyDelete
  13. I'm so happy to see Emma not only accept her powers, but also the role magic plays in her life. It's also good to see Emma's family embrace her and show her how special she is to them. Emma is slowly but surely growing into her role as the Savior.

I'm really ... Really looking foward to the hard fall Gold has in store for him. Hook is now at Gold's mercy and there is nothing he can do about it. That's the down side. Hopefully the upside is Emma can figure out how Gold has trapped Killian and she can save him and restore his heart. Of course at the same time, Emma will expose Gold for the villian he is and stop is nefarious plan. I'm just hope Hook is strong enough to overcome what Gold has done to him and doesn't become yet another casualty. It would break Emma's heart if she were to lose another man she loves.

Regina, like Killian, needs to start making better choices to earn redemption from the mistakes of the past. Robin finding the alternate page 23 of the book proves that these characters make their own destinies. The author just observes and records the choices the characters make and the consequences that go along with those choices.

    ReplyDelete
  14. No hate from me, but I disagree. I adore Rumple! I will never want him dead, and since I pretty much hate Hook for what he did to Rumple back in the day, Rumple screwing him over doesn't mean much to me.

    ReplyDelete
  15. as much as i hate hook he already redeemed himself unlike regina and gold

    ReplyDelete
  16. elsa should never leave the show i mean come on emma and elsa are sisters for better or worse, i still want more of will's story because i'm still confused, Gold is truly and completely a villain, are anna and kristoff actually dead, i wonder if we'll ever meet The Author and The Sorcerer

    ReplyDelete
  17. See, I understand that. But at least Hook has tried to change. I know Rumple has as well, but like he said, he always has some darker thing behind it so that's what angers me about him.

    ReplyDelete
  18. And that's what I love about him. He knows himself. I thought the scene w/Emma was pretty powerful b/c he was brutally honest. I just love RC and his portrayal of Rumple. I also really liked the shy, cowardly guy Rumple was before he became the "dark one." If they don't kill him off, I'm hoping he will get final redemption at the end of the series.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I'm sure he'll have redemption...but I'll still want him gone ;)

    ReplyDelete
  20. Haha! I can understand that, but I will want him redeemed and happy w/Belle I guess :-)

    ReplyDelete
  21. yeah okay i'll count that one that's true

    ReplyDelete
  22. What a great episode! And again: what would we do without our dark Rumplestilski/Mr.Gold? OUAT would be boring, really. Carlyle again did an amazing job, as all the others do too.
Thanks for this amazing episode. And now to wait 2 weeks, will be hard.

    ReplyDelete
  23. I would totally agree with you if Hook didn't slip up one time and allow himself to be manipulated when Gold gave him back his hand. Hook stood by and watched Gold trap the Apprentice in the hat. The irony is that after everything Killian went through to get his hand back, Emma didn't even notice when he arrived for their first date. It was Snow who pointed out to Emma that Killian had both of his hands. It's too bad Killian didn't understand that him missing a hand made no difference to Emma because it could have saved a lot of heartache all the way around.

  24. Outlaw Queen for the win! That was hot and awesome! I don't care how frozen Marian is. Keep the Robin and Regina coming!

    ReplyDelete
  25. here's what we learn tonight ( sorry if i forgot something):

Robin and Regina were suppose to be together but faith (or some higher power) intervene

Ingrid wasnt lying about Anna putting Elsa in the urn, she just left out the fact that she cast a spell on Anna.

Rumple took the Urn from Ingrid which is how it ended up in his cellar. Rumple thinks he is Beetlejuice now lol.

The Apprentice had the hat at some point and lost it again (during the 2nd curse maybe?)

Arendell is literally Frozen in time, so when they do return they will pick up where they left off

The Sorcerer sent Ingrid threw time and space to The Land Without Magic in 1982. Im guessing her magic let her age gracefully...

Rumple needs Hook's heart (happy dance, but he isnt going to die) to use the hat to removed the link between Rumple and the dagger.

A lot of questions were answered in this 2hr episode (well 86 mins). And new things surface. there are still some questions unanswered. the final 3 episodes should explain those final questions.

    Liked:

Every Elizabeth Mitchell. She has taken cray cray to a new level (both in past and present day).

Will helping Robin help Regina find the author.

that stand in who was clearly Ruby who walked by Robin and Will in the diner

    Emma finally accepting her powers.

I'm still loving the FROZENSWAN friendship. they will be bonded for life long after this story arch is over.

Rumple seeing the hero in Emma rather she sees it or not

Regina telling Robin when they were suppose to meet and the new page.. well a 2nd version of a page showing up.

    Disliked:

Emma didnt have control but I still didnt like that she use her powers on Henry

The love sick puppy dog returning. And think i was starting to accept Hook then he started crying over the phone.. smh

Rumple trying to trick Emma into going into the hat. BAD IMP!

I'm taking a wild guess but what if the Sorcerer told a certain man child on Neverland about Henry. He had to power to find Emma for Ingrid. Maybe he did the same for Peter Pan.

    OVERALL: Great episode!

    ReplyDelete
  26. well it 86mins of show and 34mins of commercials, normally 43 mins and 17 mins

    ReplyDelete
  27. This episode was just two hours of pure brilliance! I was in awe of it from start to finish.

Regina and Robin "sleeping" together in the crypt was utterly beautiful and made my heart melt. OutlawQueen FTW! I just love them so much. And it seems like there is possibility and hope for Regina after all! She will get her's when the time comes :) But where did page XXIII come from? Hmmm. Also, LOL at Mary Margaret telling Regina to button her shirt first. She just got dressed in a hurry ;)

I continue to love the sisterly bond between Anna and Elsa. Awww, at Anna telling Elsa that her powers make her special and she wouldn't want it any other way. I smiled so much at that. But I was shocked to find out that it was Anna (under a spell) that trapped Elsa in the urn! Damn you, Ingrid! That was heartbreaking to watch.

Will and Robin teaming up to find out who wrote the Storybook was awesome. I loved their interactions so much. Will trying to pick at the library lock and Robin just opened the door because they were open was gold. HA! "The Cat in the Hat? Why would a cat want a hat?" The world may never know XD

Hook telling Emma on his "talking phone" that he wanted to be a better man for her but failed and now he might lose her was absolutely heartbreaking. So sad. And noooo to Rumple now having his heart! Rumple will do everything in his power to separate himself from the dagger. What will Hook do now that he has the box with the hat?

Yay, Emma finally embraced her powers (loved that bit where she entertained her family to a fireworks display) but this also means that Ingrid has harnessed her and Elsa's magic! And Ingrid has enacted the Spell of Shattered Sight! Oh no, this is not going to end well at all. Seeing everyone turn on each other is going to be really hard to watch :(

  28. Woah, beautiful post Nirat! So well written. Great job :)

    ReplyDelete
  29. Thank you so much Justin :) I missed a few points but your post has them, well written post post by you too :) Talking Phone and Cat in the Hat :D

  30. great ep
I think sorser will turn out to know something about the author.
someone besides rumple had to get someone to cast the curse to get them and emma to our world.
that menes everthing that happened in the book had to happen that way

    ReplyDelete
  31. Can we assume Emma gets Killians voice mail....and becomes aware of rumple and can save his heart?!

    ReplyDelete
  32. If Emma finds out about Killian's heart, it won't be because of her phone. Gold took Emma's phone after she left it in her car and erased Killian's message.

    ReplyDelete
  33. so because someone, a man/Hook, expresses emotions and cries that makes him unlikable or a puppy? wow, I guess then a lot of people I have know are shit because they have done that.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I found it boring and predictable. They could have put that all into an hour instead of two and then it might have been a bit more interesting. Just an OK episode for me. So ready for the Snow Queen and her Frozen friends to go away.

But, the Sorcerer may be the writer of the book...that is the one interesting thing we learned. I really, really hope the Sorcerer is Merlin. That would intrigue me.

    ReplyDelete
  35. That was two great hours of TV or maybe less, minus all the commercial breaks. Whatever. I loved every single minute of it.
Rumple is still my favorite character. If he ever changed, then I wouldn't love him as much as I do.
Love Regina and Robin and I hope Marian stays frozen. Maybe someone will smash her frozen body and that will be the end of her.
Loved the scenes with Anna and Elsa because I almost cried.
I can't wait for more and that's what I love most about this show. At the end of an episode, I just want more and I can't wait until the next episode. Sadly, that will be in two weeks.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was really hoping that Belle was lurking in the shop and overheard Hook leaving that phone message for Emma where he said the dagger was a fake. Yeah, I hate how she just gets randomly mentioned here and there but isn't really a core character like she should be.

    ReplyDelete
  37. the better question is why would he be leaving that message in Gold's shop where he knows Gold can hear him and the, like he did, erase the message.

    ReplyDelete
  38. I've been at the point for a while honestly...I thought they killed an amazing scene by bringing him back when he sacrificed himself. So now, killing him again wouldn't mean the same, but all the same...I want him dead.

    ReplyDelete
  39. OUAT without Rumple would be boring ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  40. I really hope all of this Hook and Rumple stuff is just leading to the tables turning and Emma finally being the one fighting for Hook. The theme of this season is never giving up on the people you love and I think it'd be really beautiful for the first half of the season ending with everyone rallying around to save him and recognize all he's done.

    ReplyDelete
  41. SGU (was Teen Wolfers)17 November 2014 at 05:59

That was brilliant! It answered a lot of questions and Ingrid finally cast the shattered sight curse! I so can't wait to see what happens! I was so glad Hook wasn't the one to save Emma as well. Elsa saving her was perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Loooooved "Smash the Mirror". First of all, we finally got some more time spent on character moments - rather than just plot moments. So many excellent conversations ... and kisses. I'm sorry. I know Robin is married, but he and Regina just make such and awesome "meant to be" couple. And I'm tired of seeing Regina suffering. Regina will try to redeem herself by breaking the freezing spell somehow at some point, I think.

Also really enjoyed Snow's and Regina's conversation about hope, heroes and villains. But to think that it was Regina who had to point out to Snow that they needed to love their daughter the way she is. Maybe the writers should hold off on "dumbing down" the Charmings. They're better than that ...

I'm not sure I really understood how Elsa could stop Emma's rampaging powers just like that. I get the whole embrace yourself concept, but when Emma gave Elsa her hand she was still very afraid and the suddenly poof! Wut? Almost felt sorry for Hook today. He's not really a favourite of mine, but still. Poor guy.

Will's funny. Thoroughly enjoyed everything going on in that library.

Can't wait for next time. But I say that every week :-)

    ReplyDelete
  43. I really loved Robin and Regina scenes and the fact they honestly ans selfishly acted on their feelings, all things be damned (incuding his wife, sorry Marian). Very human, if not so noble. Mary Margaret should understand, she went after David when he was married too. I'm dissapointed by the development with Hook since this move form writers comes as repetitive and I was hoping for some more free will Hook-Rumple interaction. Loved how they immediately used to recognize the other's shady intentions. Now Hook is Rumple's puppet so it's gone :((.
I'm probably the only one, but all those Frozen charcters and storyline leave me completly indifferent.

    ReplyDelete
  44. And we have another cursed. COOL! *rolls eyes*
I liked the episode but at the same time i hated it. They pushed all the other characters aside to give too many time to Elsa and God can Ana be more annoying?. I was like SHUT UP!
On other notes. Is Ana dead? the main curse didnt touch Arandele and it's still freeze in magic land, right? It already have a curse on it so why should gop into another?
The only one that can stop Rumple now is Belle. I believe in her. I need to see her finding the truth about the dagger finding teh right and fuck Rumple up

    ReplyDelete
  45. they both are still Arendell Frozen in time

    ReplyDelete
  46. because that someone is Hook: YES!

    ReplyDelete
  47. liked it a LOT. Especially Regina's hope...and the implication that you make your own destiny. Enjoyed the way that Ingrid's back story played out. ABC is loving Crazy Town this season. ;-)

Library hours are until 10. hee hee

    ReplyDelete
  48. "Mary Margaret should understand, she went after David when he was married too."

David was forced to marry. He doesn't love his wife and she doesn't love him. Robin and Marian married because they love each other. And at least Marian still loves Robin.

    ReplyDelete
  49. A song of fire and ice ?

    ReplyDelete
  50. Loved it but leave hook alone rumple! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  51. Every episode is a new rock bottom for them

I wish they cared about Emma. I'd give anything is the writers cared about Emma.

Or about the product they're putting out.

When Regina tells someone other than a teenager about the book, someone should probably tell her she's not making any sense. And someone needs to tell Robin that when you're not in love with someone, divorce is OKAY, especially considering she's been missing and presumed dead for many years. Other than that the OQ were hot. Blew every other couple on this show out of the water.

    ReplyDelete
  52. When he was waffling over whether to make ANOTHER attempt on his grandson's life and committed at least one murder?

    ReplyDelete
  53. He was a bully and a dick, yeah. But Rumple responded with murder and torture so...

    ReplyDelete
  54. But Hook is still assaulting people, blackmailing, lying to Emma and participating in some extremely testy things. And after his ~redemption arc~ he sexually assaulted Emma!

    ReplyDelete
  55. The Frozen stuff really brings down the story

    ReplyDelete
  56. And has been missing and presumed dead. Robin doesn't love his wife either.

    ReplyDelete
  57. True, but divorcing Marian is kinda hard while she's still frozen. They gotta work on that first. Or maybe the act of true love thing last night with Emma and Elsa was powerful enough magic to unfreeze Marian. Never know on this show.

    ReplyDelete
  58. We as the audience may have known all these things about David's marriage back then in season 1, but the characters didn't. Until the curse broke Prince Charming was only David Nolan who woke up from a coma and couldn't connect to his wife anymore and fell in love with another woman, had an affair with Mary Margaret and met with her behind Kathryn's back while Kathryn was still trying to make their marriage work. It's easy to see imo why Snow who remembers all this can understand Regina and Robin, imo.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Poor Marian. Emma screwed her over as much as Regina did.

    ReplyDelete
  60. But what about Emma's past with the SQ ? The creators told us we shall see more than ever about her youth. I suppose it will be in the final showdown between her and her Royal Icyness...but for now, the wait is unbearable !

    ReplyDelete
  61. What rly, this was the worst episode and a new low???

It's at least IMO one of the top.

And I don't get your point about emma. After being kinda on the sidelines of the previous arcs, this one is really focusing on her and she had a great moment at the end

    ReplyDelete
  62. But he loved her once. I was a real marriage.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Marian wasn't presumed dead, she was dead. And that's not the same thing.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Yes, to everything you wrote, well done beautifully written, you captured every wonderful moment from a wonderful story!!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Thank you, Words cannot fathom the grandeur of this episode :)

    ReplyDelete
  66. Rumple probably told Hook to trap Elsa in the hat.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Loved it! I didn't really like Elsa at the beginning but she is starting to become one of my favourites! I wish they find a way to keep her around, and Anna as well!

I'm starting to suspect that Rumple will be the big villain in season 4B. And I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't survive. With only two episodes left this year, I really don't see how they could wrap up the Snow Queen's story and Rumple's. Him telling Hook that he cannot change is a good indication as well. If he really can't, then why should the other characters save him and keep him around?

    ReplyDelete
  68. Agreed! If Regina is good AND Rumple is good too, then the show may as well be over!

    ReplyDelete
  69. Because he's interesting?

This show would suck w/o Rumple/Gold IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  70. 3 episodes: 30th of November: Fall, 7th of December: Shattered Sight, 14th of December: Hereos and Villains
and if I remember, will be in 4B the "new villain" Maleficent or Cruella (read old spolers please)

    ReplyDelete
  71. perhaps a happy ending for all (witch I wish/hope) for the best show ever after many many many years on tv

    ReplyDelete
  72. The only option is Belle, she has to find out what Rumple is doing, find the real dagger and put and end to the crazyness.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ok it seems like an unpopular opinion in here but I absolutely hated the OQ stuff in this ep. I never was crazy about this ship because I personally need way more developpement for my "ship", so the OQ storyline was never a "hit" for me ( pixie dust, they met, she saw the tattoo, 3 days after BAM true love) BUT at least Robin was a decent guy, like Regina he wanted a second chance, Roland is cute and Regina was happy so I didn't hate it I was more "yeah ok whatever" about it.
Now on the other hand I'm almost disgusted by it....

I don't know why but it makes me feel exactly like the Robin/Ted/Tracy(The Mother) in HIMYM (Regina -> Robin S, Ted -> Robin Hood, Marian -> Tracy).
The way Robin is treating Marian is disgusting. It's ok to move on but at least wait until she's not dying so you can properly break up with her. He didn't EVEN TRY to save the mother of his son before sleeping with Regina and helping HER with her book problem (when he didn't lift a single finger for his frozen wife). What an honorable man!

There was so many ways to make OQ works honorably even with Marian in the picture, why chose this one??? I know people don't give a fuck about Marian (seeing some of the comments in here....) but Robin is just a big jerk in this and I wanted more for Regina. She did everything right but Robin couldn't keep it in his pants for a few more days/weeks until they find a solution for his wife...

And while Regina/Snow is always a treasure, I think that it was so tasteless to make Snow pushing OQ so much when Marian was originally killed by Regina(!) because she was defending Snow(!)... (Granted Snow may not know about that but the writers do...) And don't get me started on the fact that Robin didn't even give a single f**** about Regina being the reason Marian died and wasn't here to see her son grow up. I'm team Regina all the way so I know all those issues could have been resolved because she changed, but they weren't even addressed so....

Anyway I will end my rant here because despite that, there was a lot of good stuff in that ep too : Regina/Henry, Hook finally confessing his bad actions, Regina knocking some senses into the Charmings about Emma, Elsa/Emma, Rumple being a jerk because even if I'm sad about his redemption Robert C. is just so good at being the vilain. And speaking of vilain, I seriously love the SQ! Elisabeth M. is just SO perfect.

    ReplyDelete
  74. was an okay episode, feels like it could have been a hour instead of stretched.

not really loving the wishy washy nature of the charming's these days. who is writing for them? they seem to have had a bay and lost their brains/personalities all at the same time.

i know a lot of people love the storyline of finding out who wrote the book but at this point, since many people don't seen to notice the obvious, it makes no sense. the book, as we have seen many many times, only contains the past and only that past in the Enchanted forest up to the original curse. so what is Regina so worried about or needing to figure/find out? she knows how the books ends as she has lived through it and anything that happens in Storybrooke is her own will/life and is not documented in the book. So, the point in finding the book's author or getting a rewrite/happy ending is moot (or just a weak plot device) and all on her own shoulders now.

    ReplyDelete
  75. right, so its bias and not any rational understanding into human behavior/emotions, got it.

    ReplyDelete
  76. It certainly showed Gold as conniving as ever. It now has the added problem of Shattered sight spell. Please hurry up with the next episode.

    ReplyDelete
  77. Has Disney bought Aaron Spelling's Charmed? What does Ingrid want, the Power of Three???

    ReplyDelete
  78. the fooled acted like a love sick puppy dog for 2 seasons. Rumple this season even called him a puppy dog. Hook was getting to a point where i could deal with him and then what did he do revert back to a LOVE SICK PUPPY DOG

    ReplyDelete
  79. They are not ignoring it. Not at all. In fact they say it all the time. And Regina said herself she feels ashamed. But come on. This is a fairy tale with such unique circumstances. They love each other. Life happens. When Marian wakes up, Robin will tell her everything for sure and they'll work it out.

    ReplyDelete
  80. got your objection and "logic" the first time I wasn't asking for you to reiterate.

    ReplyDelete
  81. Yes, but that was something we knew as viewers. The characters didn't. And what this tells us is that there are many kinds of love. Seems to me like the love Robin had/has for Marian is based on guilt and gratitude in relation to the person he once was. His love for Regina runs deep in a completely different way.

    ReplyDelete
  82. I loved everything about it but am I the only person wondering ... WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED IN WONDERLAND??? no really , everything was great but now Will is in the OUAT world and I have no idea why and what the heck happened to the red queen and all the other characters to have him be so upset ...

    ReplyDelete
  83. oh my gosh ! i just saw the episode... Rumple, vieux filou !!!!

    ReplyDelete
  84. Beyond awesome! Beyond awesome! Beyond awesome!

    ReplyDelete
  85. Loved everything about this episode but only wish after this one-Mr.Gold needs to be killed ASAP.Rumpel can stay for FB scenes coz he portrays those very well but gold is plain evil. There's nothing to redeem now!

  86. God I've always been bad at math! I had forgotten about maleficent, but I don't see why we couldn't have 2 stories like in season 4a. We'll have to wait and see!

  87. But this is what is so frustrating to me. Regina is allegedly on a redemption arc. But how does an adulterous relationship with a man whose WIFE IS LYING AT DEATH'S DOOR redeem a person, or help them along that path? It just adds to the List of Horrible Things That Regina Has Done, which is already long enough. Plus it makes Robin Hood, who is supposed to be honorable and brave and courageous, look like a weakling and a liar and, well, not so honorable. Where is Marian right now? Is he trying to save her? She's the mother of his child and his wife -- who he was tortured for, who was killed *by Regina* in another timeline. I cannot put into words how stupid the writing for this whole arc is. Don't tell me that Regina is supposed to be redeemed and then make her a homewrecker. It just makes my head hurt.

  88. I extremely agree on tht.

  89. It will be even more important for Regina to find a way to save Marian now. I don't think she is in anyway forgotten. And this is a show that needs and has always had many twists and turns from imperfect characters. That's the premise of good storytelling. This is not supposed to be an after-school special.

  90. I'm hoping that the Frozen story will be over soon, because it really seemed to drag along forever...and ever. What made it worse and I missed formers seasons where they were able to interweave the sidestories of more of the secondary characters.

I'd be more on board with this new (and somewhat unbelievable) Regina storyline if it didn't revolve around her having a romantic relationship at the expense of Robin's wife Marian, especially since it only came about because she sentenced Marian to death for merely speaking on Snow's behalf. If there were any such thing as karma, she and Robin would not end up together. The only reason viewers are commending the writers for this awful subplot is because no one gives a crap about Marian (or the Mirror, or anyone that Regina senselessly hurts, for that matter) It's just always about Regina. Regina. Regina. And I'm also surprised that more people do not think that Robin's attitude towards Marian, the mother of his child is absolutely revolting. It's like the fairytale version of an awful Lifetime movie. Probably one of the most nauseating pairings ever.

I'd also be more on board with this new Regina/mother of the year if they made her feel a little more personally accountable for all the lives that she ruined and people that she senselessly slaughtered. Or if she didn't feel so entitled all the tiem (Her conversation with Charming, where she mentioned her biggest regret and Charming mistakenly assumed that it was the lives she had ruined was actually hilarious...but telling). Instead of spending her time whining about not having her own happy ending, or imprisoning the Mirror in order to make her own happy ending (which was quite ironic), why couldn't the writers make her atone a bit more, instead of profiting from what she did to Marian. This series has really sunk to a new low.

  91. I liked the Robin/Regina storyline last season, but it became a major turn-off with the introduction and poor treatment of Marian. There are so many better ways in which the writers could have turned Regina's life around and given her a "happy ending" instead of making it at the expense of innocent characters like Marian. Marian dying and never seeing her son grow up is reminiscent of last season where Regina killed that boy's father because she wanted to keep the kid in Storybrooke. Had Regina, as a mother, been more empathetic towards these characters, it would have made for a better redemption arc on her part. Unfortunately, I've never been a big Regina fan.,..I think that she is one of the most inconsistently written characters. So this whole story arc makes the show somewhat unwatchable for me. And Robin Hood really is a terrible character. I don't ship that relationship at all.

  92. Bring Rumbelle back!

  93. Fairy tales are actually defined by black and white characters. The wicked witch, the evil stepmother. Versus the good guys. And yeah, life's messy and storytelling should reflect that. But storytelling should also be logical and consistent and in this, it's not.

  94. That scene with the fireworks, I was like "Let it snow! Let it snow!", but they chose fireworks over snow. LOL

  95. Not really. In the original Snow White (not the Disney version), Snow and Charming punished the Evil Queen by torturing her to death and having her walk on hot coals. Not purely good vs. evil. Disney took that out because they wanted to create a black and white story. Fairy tales are in their essence the appearance of good vs. evil, but rarely so. They are fables about the human condition. I agree that they draw up contrasts, but they leave moralising to the audience. Storytelling should be logical - yes. But here you're equating logic with high morals.

  96. Nah, it's written REALLY badly. This storyline should have been building for more than one episode and should NOT be resolved in a single episode.

  97. Um, no. Emma took her from the past into the future. She literally has never died. She was missing and presumed dead. That's it, there's no way around it.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Yeah and? She was gone for many, many years and was back for a day. How exactly are you supposed to un-move on?

  99. That would be great if almost every single character on OUAT wasn't a horrible person. There's only really one or two main or recurring characters who are actually genuinely good.

  100. Anyone else misses Red? I rolled my eyes so hard when I heard that Mary Margaret will 'track down' Emma...Whatever happened to Red and her sniffing others out? UGH. This show.

  101. Awesome episode. Loved everything. Great dialogue, incredible special effects, a good amount of screen time and character progression for so many of the main cast.

I loved how the Frozen Arendelle flashback was written, and how it integrated so well with Emma's storyline in Storybrooke. All the love between different characters was really well written and acted. The sisterly love between Anna and Elsa is beautiful.

Regina and Henry's mother-son love was finally shown on-screen again, and it was great and moving. I'm glad Regina got some happiness with her love, Robin, in this episode. I'm actually a little surprised, but totally appreciative, of more Regina scenes in these two episodes.

Emma's storyline, culminating in her accepting her powers and learning to love herself, was well done, and great character development for her. I know others disagree, but I thought it was totally appropriate that Elsa was the one that reached her. Elsa is the only character on the show that has ever had the exact same issue, with not being able to control her powers, and fearing hurting her loved ones, and running away to protect everyone.

I find it sad that Rumple is turning down his dark path again, but I am also somewhat excited, because he's really good at being scary. Besides, while other villains may be able to change, he's literally "The Dark One", which makes it almost impossible to not be "dark". So, in terms of being true to character, I give the writers a pass on this. When Rumple isn't "The Dark One" anymore, but some dude with strong magic, then I think he may have a real chance to finally change and be good.

I really enjoyed these two episodes, so much so, that I'll probably go rewatch it a bunch of times again, while waiting for the next new episode.

  102. Who would have thought we'd get to see the day when Regina gives the Charmings solid parenting advice.

  103. I generally dislike how they treat the supporting cast.

  104. He manipulated her. He spins the truth and still was going to let her die for his own selfish reasons

  105. Good episode.
Emma had to get here with finally accepting herself and self love.
I loved Hook's phone message - he is a better man but he is scared if losing her :(
I love how Charming says we need to put the spell locator on something that belongs to Emma... The camera was so purposely on Hook ;)

I so hope Hook gets his heart back. Again he was taunted and made helplessly to watch the woman he loves going to die but Emma is alive

  106. Yeah . . . but I love the character.
