Longmire - Netflix in Negotiations for Season 4 Pick Up

14 Nov 2014

Longmire fans’ prayers may have been answered. I’ve learned that Netflix is deep in negotiations for a fourth season of the drama series. The news comes two and a half months after Longmire‘s surprise cancellation by A&E after three seasons. The axing triggered one of the biggest outpourings of fan support, with reaction ranging from shock and disbelief to anger and a call to arms in a massive save-the-show campaign.

Sources caution that negotiations between Netflix and Longmire producer Warner Horizon have been tricky, and there is a chance that a final agreement may not be reached, though there is a will on both sides and insiders are hopeful. If a deal closes, Season 4 of Longmire eyes a tentative March production start date.

  2. We need a netflix signal. Just shine it into the sky whenever a good show gets canceled.

  4. IF the production cost is not too high it's obvious that the show's fans will follow it to another network.
Kudos to Netflix for (possibly) providing that alternative.

  11. Please, video gods, let this happen. Inexcusable for A&E to have cancelled this show -- was sooooo angry. Such a shame. Not that it helps me -- I signed up for NETFLIX just to get The Killing but could not get it on any of my devices -- and they still charged me for a month. Waiting for it to show up elsewhere now. But at least a NETFLIX deal would get Longmire continued and filmed.

  14. I still hope that netflix gives some canned shows at least the possibility to do a farewell season, however short that might be (3 - 5 episodes). wouldn't require too much budget and be a good way for good press and exclusive rights
