Updated 2nd December: ABC has now confirmed this. Press release below:
“MARVEL’S AGENT CARTER” TO DEBUT WITH A TWO-HOUR PREMIERE, TUESDAY, JANUARY 6 ON ABC

All-New “Forever” To Air Following the Premiere of “Marvel’s Agent Carter”

ABC’s highly anticipated new seven part television event, “Marvel’s Agent Carter,” the second action packed series from the creative minds at Marvel, inspired by the feature films “Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger” and “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” along with the short “Marvel One-Shot: Agent Carter,” will debut with a two-hour premiere on TUESDAY, JANUARY 6 (8:00-10:00 p.m., ET).

An all-new episode of “Forever” will air following the premiere of “Marvel’s Agent Carter.”

It's 1946 and peace has dealt Agent Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell), a serious blow as she finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy finds herself stuck doing administrative work when she would rather be back out in the field, putting her vast skills into play and taking down the bad guys. But she is also trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life, Steve Rogers – aka Captain America. When old acquaintance Howard Stark (Dominic Cooper, “Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger”) finds himself being framed for unleashing his deadliest weapons to anyone willing to pony up the cash, he contacts Peggy -- the only person he can trust -- to track down those responsible, dispose of the weapons and clear his name. He empowers his butler, Edwin Jarvis (James D'Arcy), to be at her beck and call when needed to help assist her as she investigates and tracks down those responsible for selling these weapons of mass destruction. If caught going on these secret missions for Stark, Peggy could be targeted as a traitor and spend the rest of her days in prison – or worse.

“Marvel’s Agent Carter” stars Hayley Atwell (“Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier”) as Agent Peggy Carter, James D'Arcy (“Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World”) as Edwin Jarvis, Chad Michael Murray (“One Tree Hill,” “A Cinderella Story”) as Agent Jack Thompson, Enver Gjokaj (“Dollhouse”) as Agent Daniel Sousa and Shea Whigham (“American Hustle,” “The Wolf of Wall Street”) as Chief Roger Dooley.

Tara Butters (“Resurrection”), Michele Fazekas (“Resurrection), Christopher Markus (“Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), Stephen McFeely (“Marvel’s Captain America: The First Avenger,” “Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier”), Chris Dingess (“Men in Trees”), Kevin Feige (“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Marvel’s The Avengers”), Louis D'Esposito (“Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy,” “Marvel’s Iron Man 3”), Alan Fine (“Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” “Marvel’s Thor”), Joe Quesada (“Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,” “Marvel’s Avengers Assemble”), Stan Lee (“Spider-Man,” “Iron Man,” “The Incredible Hulk”) and Jeph Loeb (“Smallville,” “Lost,” “Heroes”) are executive producers. “Marvel’s Agent Carter” is produced by ABC Studios and Marvel Television.

Updated: SpoilerTV asked ABC for confirmation and they have replied that the listing on the schedule is incorrect. The premiere will be an hour long, airing from 9 to 10 PM.

Previously:
Per the ABC schedule, the series premiere of Agent Carter will air on January 6th from 8 to 10 PM, followed by a new episode of Forever.

ABC previously scheduled a 2-hour series premiere for it's mid-season drama Secrets and Lies from 9 to 11 PM on March 1, following the mid-season premiere of Once Upon A Time

  1. Awesome! Wonder why it's so long.

  2. I guess so the premiere doesn't have repeats as lead-in.

  3. On ABCmedianet, Selfie is set to air on January 13 and it's really weird.

    ReplyDelete
  4. I think that's a place holder till the announce what will take over the Tuesday 8PM slot. Probably, Beyond the Tank

    ReplyDelete
  5. AWESOMESAUCE!!! and damn Once Upon a Time comes back on March

    ReplyDelete
  6. Can't wait for the show. Love the cast! Hoping for a strong show!

  7. This is great. But ABC is really stalling now in announcing what will air Tuesdays at 8 lol, it's even kind of funny. This also means there is one week in which there is no Marvel show airing at all since Shield will only get back 8 weeks later and Carter will only be on for 7 weeks now.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah, I think even the promos say 9/8c.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I'm not surprised since ABC has not announced anything that is airing Tuesday at 8 come January. But doesn't this mean it will end a week earlier? I won't be shocked if SHIELD comes back a week earlier. When looking at the schedule, SHIELD would have to air a 2 hour episode somewhere to air all 22 episodes to end on 5/12 since the DWTS finale would obviously be 5/19 but they wouldn't have to then.

  10. They could just change the time. It was worse when ABC was advertising Forever premiering Tuesday Sept 23 for months when it really premiered the day before and ABC didn't show ads for it airing on Monday until a week prior.

  11. I'm really hoping for a 2 hour episode in May to revolve around the events of Avengers 2.

  12. I was looking and last year there was the State of the Union speech on January the 28th (Tuesday), thus preempting the regular lineups. Maybe the same will happen this year which is why ABC needs to get one extra hour of Carter out the way.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Will that count as two episodes or one?

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think it's because of the state of the union address. But Shield will still have to air two episodes. I would air them on their return night to lead into the whispers premiere or in their finale. Beyond the Tank could then work as its lead-in as the episode count would be in sync. But I have no lead-in to offer Carter other than Shark Tank repeats.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I agree. I was looking and a lot of things must be wrong. By their accounts, they would even have more episodes of Resurrection than those that were ordered. I don't think every timeslot has been correctly updated, particularly Tuesdays at 8.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Oh I forgot about the SOTU address. I assume Shark Tank reruns will air on 1/13 & 1/20 because there is no point in advertising a new show premiering on 1/13 when there will be all kinds of pre-emptions on 1/20 so ABC can premiere something on 1/27. I'm guesssing BTT will premiere then the DWTS Results show will return for a couple of weeks like it did this past season then BTT can finish up its episodes. The Whisperers will likely replace Forever end of March early April and probably air til the summer since it seems DOA anyway.

  19. My guess is slightly different. I expect this:

01/01: Agent Carter + Agent Carter + Forever
    13/01-20-01: Shark Tank (R) + Agent Carter + Forever
27/01: Shark Tank (R) + State of the Union
    03/02-24/02: Shark Tank (R) + Agent Carter + Forever

Then, on 03/03 premiere the new lineup Beyond the Tank+Shield+The Whispers. It would be:
    03/03 - 05/05: Beyond the Tank + Shield + The Whispers (Beyond has a 10 episode order)
    12/05: Shield + Shield + The Whispers
    19/05: DWTS finale

This leaves 4 Forever episodes to air, but there are several options for them. On 16/12 for instance they can air two of them from 9-11. They can also run them straight through the holidays like CBS is doing with CSI. Or they can air them on Sundays between Super Bowl and the Oscars. Or they can replace some of the Shark Tank repeats at 8 with original forever episodes when Carter is airing at 9.

  20. Awesome, as if I wasn't ready for this show already!

  21. Yay, one extra hour of Peggy is always a plus :)

    I second this.
    Whaaat?

    ReplyDelete
  25. I thought I was the only one who didn't get this, seeing the number likes on the comments, lol

    ReplyDelete
  26. Americans don't say "Whaaat?", britard. You apes can't spell a language you lost.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I think Agent Carter should air all episodes at 8 so ABC can air Forever at 9 and at 10 some weeks.

The schedule would look like this:
    January 6:
    8-10: Agent Carter (eps 1 and 2)
    10-11: Forever (ep 12)
    January 13:
    8-9: Agent Carter (ep 3)
    9-11: Forever (eps 13 and 14)
    January 20:
    8-9: Agent Carter (ep4)
    9-11: Forever (eps 15 and 16)
    January 27:
    -State of the Union
    February 3:
    8-9: Agent Carter (ep 5)
    9-11: Forever (eps 16 and 18)
    February 10:
    8-9: Agent Carter (ep 6)
    9-11: Forever (eps 19 and 20)
    February 17:
    8-9: Agent Carter (ep 7)
    9-11: Forever (eps 21 and 22)

    February 24:
8-9: Agent Carter (Season Finale ep 8)
9-11: The Whispers (Series Premier eps 1 and 2)
    March 3:
    8-10: SHIELD (Mid-season premier eps 11 and 12)
    10-11: The Whispers (Time-slot premier ep 3)
    March 10:
8-9: Shark Tank spin off (Premier ep 1)
9-10: Agents of Shield (ep 13)
    10-11: The Whispers (ep 4)

After this they all air new eps until the finales on
    May 12:
    8-10: Shark Tank Spin-off Finale (ep 10)
9-10: Agents of Shield Finale (ep 22)
10-11: The Whispers Finale (ep 13)
    And then on May 19:
    8-9: DWTS Clip Show
    9-11: DWTS Finale

  29. Look at my schedule above. It fits all eps for all shows perfectly. Also, if The Whispers were to premier on March 3 it would have 2 eps left after May 12.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I wonder where those people come from. There has to be some site that brigades stuff like this in order to get positive votes so quickly. And it is such a strange comment/PoV to be so dedicated to. Oh well. Trolls will be trolls.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Is it confirmed that Beyond the Tank is an hour as opposed to 1/2 hour?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Most likely: Beyond the Tank

    Ideally: Dancing Results~FOTB

    ReplyDelete
  33. Usually they count those types of things as two episodes

    ReplyDelete
  34. Am looking Forward to this show but while they are at it, they could announce the mid season schedule for revenge as well. I Would like to know how many episodes it will air in january

    ReplyDelete
  35. I get it in theory, but the cast and crew of Forever would have to never eat or sleep to be able to produce 22 episodes ready to air by mid Feb! Also, it makes no sense that ABC would order a full back 9 only to burn them off right away. I just think they'll launch The Whispers at 8pm when SHIELD returns.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Damn! I was so happy when I read this earlier today... Oh well, I love Forever so it's not exactly a loss, but a 2 hour premiere felt so much like a movie...

    ReplyDelete
  37. Not really a fan of two hour premieres that are just two episodes shown together anyway, especially on commercial television where the content ends up being 84 minutes or less.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Yeah i didnt get that either

    ReplyDelete
  39. I don't care if its one hour or two. I want a lot of Peggy/Howard interactions.

    ReplyDelete
  40. You guys were the first ones to know this lol. Keep up the good work.

    ReplyDelete
  41. What's funny is that ABC flat out denied it when we contacted them and now it turns out to be true, lol

    ReplyDelete
  42. They probably didn't want the info out in that moment. But it was obvious they put that in the schedule by mistake before announcing it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. confirmed, denied, confirmed, denied.

    make up your mind ABC

    ReplyDelete
  44. It was more like: found out about, denied even if true cause it was a mistake, announced.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't know what to believe anymore

    ReplyDelete
  46. Ok, so it really will be a 2 hour event? Good, I like it, let's hope they don't change their mind again...

    ReplyDelete
  47. ABC probably just wanted to announce the information themselves.

    ReplyDelete
  48. MAKE UP YOUR MIND.
