Originally, sophomore Resurrection too was poised to get an extra episode to go up to 14 but the plan changed at the last minute and the supernatural drama is staying at 13. Back in May, ABC announced that Resurrection will share a time slot with John Ridley’s 11-episode midseason series American Crime though I hear that might change.

That can't be good for the show!
ReplyDeleteHeh, ABC sure knoe how to make up their minds..
ReplyDeleteA lot of people were surprised when they heard it was getting an extra episode, too. This feels about right.
ReplyDeleteGiving a 13 ep show 1 extra episode seemed weird anyway, surely the writers have the season planned out already, its different with 22 episode seasons which were increased they have time to expand storylines.
ReplyDeleteI thought they had 16 Episodes...
ReplyDeleteSo it will end with a cliffhanger. I doubt they tie everything up in the few episodes left... They have probably written everything already..
No, it was 13 episode to begin with, Francis Fisher tweeted that a while ago.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the info...
ReplyDeleteEither way it ūwill have a cliffhanger i believe and it wont come back for s3 with these ratings. :(
Wonder what will air after OUAT when Resurrection. American Crime always seemed weird to me, it doesn't match well at all after OUAT. Maybe The Whispers?
ReplyDeleteThis does seem strange.
ReplyDeleteI thought ABC would put the back of the Oscars' might on the heels of American Crime premiere (like they did with Resurrection last year).
Ifr American Crime doesn't air on Sundays at 9, what will?
ReplyDeleteThey have Members Only and Astronaut Wives Club waiting in the wings.
ReplyDeleteIt was expected given the ratings.
ReplyDeleteMight as well call it cancelled. :(
ReplyDeleteI already accepted the show is getting canceled I just hope they resolve some things before the season is over. I want the bones mystery to be solved and Marty to be reunited with his family.
ReplyDeleteI thing Members Only might fit well into Sundays.
ReplyDeleteIt's so getting cancelled!
ReplyDeleteThe Whispers ?
ReplyDeleteWhy would American Crime air elsewhere??? Ughh. And why did they change their mind on one day, after thinking about this extra eps since the start of the season
ReplyDeleteDid ABC backed out on the episode, or did deadline reported wrong yesterday?
ReplyDeleteI also recall a TV critic tweeting at TCA that Resurrection was doing 16 episodes for season 2, but that critic must have been confused with HTGAWM or something.
ReplyDeleteI thought the same thing last night.
ReplyDeleteI agree that the show is likely not getting season 3 but doing an extra episode of a 13 episode heavily serialized show would have been a mistake by ABC.
ReplyDeleteDo you mean American Crime or Resurrection? Back in July during TCA's, there was a lot of confusion at TCA's about the number of episodes for American Crime. I heard between 8-10, but the Futon Critic has had 11 episodes listed for American Crime for a while. I am very happy that American Crime is 11 episodes, to me it means John Ridley told ABC that he only needed 11 episodes to tell the story that he wanted to tell.
ReplyDeleteIf Resurrection, I do recall at least one TV critic tweeting at TCA that they were doing 16 episodes. I do know the writers of that show preferred doing 13 episodes or fewer seasons (THR interview before season 1 aired).
I do believe that this is it, my only concern is they give us resolution and wrap everything up, Resurrection really couldn't drag this story out another season, just please, please tie things up!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm talking about Resurrection on the extra episode thing. I'm pretty sure ABC never ordered that episode and that deadline got it wrong, just like they probably have the info on American Crime wrong (they say it's 13 eps and that it might not air on Sundays, and those things are probably not true).
ReplyDeleteIs that not Agent Carter's slot?
ReplyDeleteAgent Carter is airing at 9PM on Tuesdays when SHIELD is on its mid-season break so sometime in Jan-Early March
ReplyDeleteI thought it was Tuesdays at 9s while AoS was on winter break
