  2. I'm surprised, it ended up being waaaaaaay better than what I've expected it to be.

REIGN IS THE BEST SHOW EVER

  10. You do not need to post multiple times. Once is enough.

  11. Loved it, again! Gets better every time I watch it!

  13. In short: better than expected. Very light and fun.
I'm not going to keep watching it though, I'll rather catch up with the season once it's over (or renewed, I hope)
In a way this was pretty unique for our television landscape

that said: don't like it being paired up with The Originals, I like both but they don't benefit each other

    ReplyDelete
  14. I see why you're doing this, you're afraid for the fate of Reign. But let me clear this up for you: Jane isn't in the way of Reign.

The Originals, The 100, Supernatural, Arrow and The Vampire Diaries are.

TO and 100 especially since both are sophomore shows as well. It's a good bet to guess that one or two sophomore shows are going to be cancelled this year. And currently Reign is not looking too safe.
TVD/SPN/Arrow are the classic senior shows that have seniority over Reign. If one is threatened Reign will be thrown under a bus

    ReplyDelete
  15. Some people just need attention. .. I'm pretty sure he/she didn't even watch the show.
Plus he/she think reign is the best tvshow ever. ...you can't argue with those kinda of people.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Funny thing everybody from Reign from actors to writers were promoting Jane on twitter

    ReplyDelete
  17. When I read the premise (and the name) I laughed and thought the CW's CEO was tanking the network. It was a surprisingly watchable. The lead actress is very likeable and the format is cute. I dont know if I'll keep watching (I have way too many shows to watch) but I hope success for it.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I'd argue to pair up Originals/SPN on mondays (both benefit each other due to similar genres), Flash/Arrow (benefit each other thanks to being in a shared universe) on tuesdays, JtV/Reign on wednesdays (both are romance heavy TVD/100 on thursdays

I'd love Originals and 100 to be paired up though, both are so beautifully different that they deserve each other

    ReplyDelete
  19. Quiirky, funny and lots of cheesy drama, well acted Gina is not the typical CW hot babe but she has charisma that any young girl can relate to her. Ill def will keep watching.

  20. bawwht Reign hazz crutucal avcclaim >:(

    :P

I like your thoughts on the Originals and the 100 being paired up. Mind you, I am a die hard vamp fan and FLOVE that TO is on Monday's makes the waiting easier for the next show.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Looks like my predictions were kinda right: People were judging this based on the name and premise, just like they did Ugly Betty back in 2006, and just like Ugly Betty, now that it's premiered and people have given it a chance most seem to think it's a lot better than they assumed. ;) Haha. I'm watching right now, it's cute and charming. :)

    ReplyDelete
  23. both are without a doubt the best theCW has brought forward in their genre. TO is simply the best vampire show since Angel (sorry TVD but TOs first season outdid TVDs entire run so far as well as TBs and Moonlights).
While the 100 is simply unique

    ReplyDelete
  24. For the record i never said reign is a bad show.
But calling it best show ever is just nuts and stupid

    ReplyDelete
  25. Then SPN will go against Sleepy Hollow and Arrow against AoS. No bueno.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I will say it though, the first 3 episodes of Reign killed me. I didn't watch beyond and judge this show purely on these 3 episodes. They failed. The worst 3 hours of television I ever forced myself to sit through.

Know why I can enjoy Sharknado while Reign just disgusts me? Reign has this pretentious set up, there's no place for comedy or lighthearted scenes despite the show already buttf***ing history.

Yes. Sharknado is IMO better than Reign because Sharknado knows it's limitations and ridiculousness. Meanwhile Reign seems to consider itself the peak of visualized media

    ReplyDelete
  27. I am so glad I decided to check out the pilot! I really want this show to do well, despite the majority of the people being so negative about it. Well done so far, The CW!

    ReplyDelete
  28. TO went against AoS last year and did well, AoS is really not a show that Arrow has to fear at this point. Love both but AoS has the misfortune of a weak first half of season 1 whereas Arrow has maintained a loyal fanbase. Casual watchers aren't going to stickwith Arrow anyway.

as for SPN vs. SH. I would actually say that it could hurt SH more looking at their performance lately

    ReplyDelete
  29. I liked it. Little bit too cheese for my taste but enough to keep me watching. I wonder if the title is deliberately so ridiculous to make people tune in just to experience the major flop and awfulness. May be it will benefit show in some weird unexpected way. Anyway, CW may have another hit on their hands this year!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Well you watched 3 episode ...i watched 3 min of this show and i knew it wasn't for me. But sharknado i believe that it's the dumbest thing that happened to syfy.

    ReplyDelete
  31. ever seen Mecha Shark vs. Megalodon? Or Asian Schoolgirl Revenge (no, this isn't porn, it's an actual movie about asian schoolgirls slaughtering the yakuzza). These are the dumbest syfy movies.

They don't take themselves serious and gain my respect thanks to the parodies they serve as.

Meanwhile Reign is literally a turd disguising itself as gold....a lot like the Kardashians actually...

  32. Bertha Strongham14 October 2014 at 04:07

Let's not get crazy now. Each vamp show has their own thing going. However, agreed on TO being better then TVD. Just as Angel was (IMO) better then Buffy (mind you I flove buffy).

    ReplyDelete
  33. May be, but AoS/Arrow and SPN/SH are the shows with probably 90% shared viewers. So it could hurt both in pairs because people will start heavily DVRing.
Jane would go well with Reign, I agree here.
If Jane goes well then I sense SPN moving to Thursdays midseason and Reign shipped to Fridays with HoD. BaTB will go summer.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I didn't really like it. Not my kinds of show I guess lol. The lead is really likable though.

  35. Christopher DeBono14 October 2014 at 04:20

'The Machine Girl' is still my favorite 'dumb' movie.
But then again, Japan does some crazy stuff that it's hard to tell if it was actually meant to be serious or not.

(Also the side-story short 'Shyness Machine Girl' was all sorts of cray)

    ReplyDelete
  36. true, japan is good for all sorts of crazy sh*t :P
but you never know when something is supposed to be genuinely serious or not.

    ReplyDelete
  37. 25% so far voted "awful" but no corresponding comments. To shy to share ?

    ReplyDelete
  38. You know it's bad when @mac The Troll ( I mean that in a good way) is fed up with this kind of sh*t :P ;) :)

  39. Christopher DeBono14 October 2014 at 04:58

So....to keep things going. What do people think it'll score in the demo?
Part of me thinks it might hit a .7 due to Gina on the talk show circuit and all the positive reviews. I doubt it'll really be much higher (although I would love to be surprised).

    ReplyDelete
  40. Both TO and JtV 0.6. But hope for a miracle and 0.8 for Jane.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Ok So i kinda liked it but theres alot of bad things about the show! The whole narrating guy is really cheesy and bad and i hope it was only on the premiere or il prob stopping it....But the actress is pretty good and i think thats the only good thing about the show...

    ReplyDelete
  42. Not really surprising Even some of other shows including The Flash was promoting it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. maybe cuz it comes from same cbs studios.

    ReplyDelete
  44. i havent seen the show (maybe i will see after season 1 airing) .but what did u guys think??
is it a keeper or trash??

    ReplyDelete
  45. Christopher DeBono14 October 2014 at 06:10

Keeper in my opinion. It's unique and fun.
If you liked Hart of Dixie or Ugly Betty you'll probably like it.

    ReplyDelete
  46. knowing the type of stuff you like u really wont like it. i thought it was average, i dont understand what the fuss is about and why it got so many super positive reviews... i rated it as ok
it was sweet and the actress is adorable and cute but i already know where they are taking it plot wise and there was nothing all that novel about it. debating whether to watch another episode or not but i am inclined to just pass...

    ReplyDelete
  47. well i still think it will do really well in the premiere cause of all the publicity (may even get an 1.0) but having watced it now i really think it will drop to 0.4 eventually

    ReplyDelete
  48. I definitely think the title is meant to convey the offbeat tone. I immediately knew it was gonna be over the top, campy and funny (or try to be those things) when I read the title. Which is why I was so confused all summer that people didn't seem willing to give it a chance. I personally love weird titles for comedic shows.

    ReplyDelete
  49. I'm really hoping the ads reached a different audience than those who typically watch The CW and check it out and push the premiere over a 1.1 ... I'm not holding my breath but critics have been raving about it so there's hope, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  50. thought so
but the promotion this show got was really surprising for me

    ReplyDelete
  51. 1.0 wow
    i dont think so imo
    might get 0.7 demo wise

    ReplyDelete
  52. my guess will be 0.7 demo wise.
if it gets more than that i will be shocked.

    ReplyDelete
  53. we'll know in a few hours lol. quite curious about how it does cause of the amount of promotion

    ReplyDelete
  54. It was very cute and heartfelt, even if a little silly, but I'll def be watching the show!

    ReplyDelete
  55. Banged by Corey Stoll14 October 2014 at 10:21

Voted great. Light and quite funny.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I was really pleasantly surprised. I liked it quite a lot. A fun quirky soap. Though if it were me that doctor would have me set up financially for the rest of my life....or at least tuition and medical expenses. :-D Refreshing break from what I've come to expect from the CW.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think you're right. It isn't the right match for The Originals. But given its just starting it isn't strong enough to anchor another night. Maybe they'll adjust when its (if) its gained some momentum.

    ReplyDelete
  58. To much telenovelish and soapy for me, but I'll check a few more episodes because judge show only by pilot not good

    ReplyDelete
  59. I really wanted to like it because I like the lead, I like the diversity but even thought the show is supposedly aware of its ridiculous premise, it was still kinda stereotypical and a little stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Well its not really based on what you watch since I liked it and I watch dramas religiously such as TWD, GOT, Gotham, The Flash, Forever, The Knick, Penny D, Turn etc. but the point is whether it works for you, this show is one of those lighthearted comedies where all of the characters have that charisma of their own this is something like Ugly Betty or Deavious Maids if you ever watched those and you liked them then you will like this, and if you never did than I don't think this is for you.

  61. Mukalya Mwangala14 October 2014 at 12:34

    Amusing episode.

    ReplyDelete
  62. gotta admit that I kinda liked it a bit , it has as lot of telenovela elements to it, but other than that, it was kinda heart warming and sweet, and am loving Gina, she's just the right amount of quirky and adorable, definitely gonna give it another chance, don't know if it's a keeper though!

    ReplyDelete
  63. I saw a petty tweet from a fan of another CW show that said they weren't going to watch or DVR any CW show in this timeslot even if their viewership or non-viewership doesn't affect the ratings. For that reason alone, I hope Jane premiered well and I hope the ratings are so good, they get renewed.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I wasn't going to give it a chance. I wasn't even considering. At all. But then I read on other site a lot of good reviews, so I decided to give it a chance. And I wasn't disappointed. At all. ;) Really cute!

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yeah i saw it after that he's a regular...oh well it is a bit to much and his voice is pretty annoying...

    ReplyDelete
  66. I can't believe I am saying this, but I really enjoyed it. Went in expecting to never watch again, but here I am loving it.

    ReplyDelete
  67. no comments on Reign feeling threatend by a Virigin..... just the wrong one ;)

    ReplyDelete
  68. one could argue that the Reign fandoms approach to sexuality would be severely off realism given their super-realistic sex scenes (humps chick out of a window)

    ReplyDelete
  69. lol, interesting view. Had something different in mind I have never watched a second of Reign. I'm boykotting everything that has Mary Queen of Scotts as main figure not hat I mind them taking liberty with historical stuff. Just have always been a "fan" of Elisabeth I. The one who executed the historical figure of Mary Queen of Scotts. Elisabeth was also named the Virgin Queen because she never married.

    ReplyDelete
  70. you're not alone, I know quite a few (theatre) people that raged when they read about Reign.
I'll never take a side as I have no idea WHAT exactly went down back then (we'll never know) but the way Reign shows Mary as a lovable, strong, charismatic and kind hearted heroine is pretty much against every aspect of history. Even the parts of litarature that use her as a main character.

I love to bring up Schillers "Mary Stuart" (maybe because we've played through that one a LOT), wich was a redemption-esque story about Mary and even he, who idealized her in that book, made her look worse than they did in the Reign episodes I've seen so far.

Safe to say that Reign won't make it to the UK, for good reason.

    ReplyDelete
  71. well I actually don't mind if they take their liberty, just never have been able to like Mary Stuart, not even with Schiller. You made it through Schiller? Kudos!
Just had a laugh at the comments about Reign feeling threatend by a "Virgin". Will have a look at Jane further into the season.
