  1. That was so awesome!

The train sequence showcased some of the best special effects I've seen. Felicity was as awesme as usual, but especially beautiful, that black dress!!!

Captain Cold was so cool, pun intended!!

  2. And here I thought I couldn't love Felicity Smoak more, she totally stole the episode! Sorry Michael Scofield, maybe some other time.

  3. Barricity!!!
Loved this epiosde. I loved the train sequence, Loved the scene with Barry chasing the ice. Loved Felicity in this episode. Loved Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold!!

  4. I like Felicity and Barry.

I love Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold.

  5. I really loved this episode as much as the pilot. the special effects are getting better each episode. Captain Cold is too cool (no pun). I hope he stays around for YEARS!!!
Felicity needs to drop Ollie (for good) and just stay with Barry. Them too were just too cute.

  6. I went with AWESOME!

My favourite Flash episode yet. Lot's of nice interactions. Wentworth Miller KILLED IT as Captain Cold. His presence is incredible. And you have no idea how excited that scene at the end made me for the Prison Break reunion. These two are gonna be awesome.

I also really liked the Barry/Felicity kiss. It was nice and genuine.

  7. Shut up :p LET ME HAVE THIS.

  8. Fan-freaking-tastic episode, damn near perfect. Captain Cold was an awesome villain. Barry/Felicity were adorable, sweet little cuties.

The humor was great, loved everything from Barry/Felicity being adorable nerds to Cisco geeking out over the Arrow. Flash showing off and his shoes catching fire, falling off the treadmill, Caitlin getting annoyed at losing Operation. The awkward heart to heart between Eddie/Joe and the radio's betrayal.

The drama was great, scary Wells was very creepy/scary tonight, quite ominous, I'm a little worried about Wells knowing Felicity. The scene where Flash races the freeze ray was awesome and the results so tragic, the fighting between Barry/Cisco was very sad, I love those two.

I also loved the Joe/Iris scenes, Joe was just perfect. Once again though this show is. Ot giving me a reason to love Iris outside of her relationship to others. Look at Eddie, he has the awkward car scene and the "dummy" scene during trivia night and then the "hero" scene towards the end where he states "I'm your partner, not your assistant".

The final fight/train sequence was amazing, absolutely loved it. Loved the ending with the introduction of Heatwave.

Now for my few minor complaints, the dialog was occasionally clunky, especially the continuous heat/cold comments from Capt. Cold. I also didn't like the final Cisco joke about vacuum clearner.

  9. Also I didn't bash him. I just said Felicity stole the episode. Miller did a fine job. Hopefully we see more of him.

  10. I feel like Wentworth Miller needs to headline another show and soon…he's too good an actor not to be on my tv every week!

  11. More Felicity on The Flash, please ^^

  12. Loved Felicity but nothing beats the last scene with Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell ('s voice)! Missing those Prison Break days..

  13. Awesome episode, Barry is just so lovable and the train save was all kind of cool, Mr cold reminds me of Mr Freeze from Batman, Felicity and Barry got some serious chemistry, they could have melted cold dude on their own!!!

  14. pretty good ep.... always like seeing Feleicity, and am glad that she was a team builder for Team Streak/Flash, and even though I could've done without all the romantic tidbits, this is the CW... loved the sfx of the train/theater fights although had to suspend disbelief in the ep some: Barry doing his Flash thing in the middle of a crowded park/ right outside the windows of a a crowded coffee bar, Cold's jump from a speeding train would've roughed him up more than he was, and it seems a bit improbable that Team Flash could've gotten to the train accident site for the lab as quickly as they did, and it seems that the easiest thing for the Flash to defeat this guy is to run up and pull the gun from his hand... but it's ok because this is supposed to be his main nemesis , I believe, so I'll let it go and enjoy ... nice DC easter egg with the stolen diamond being from Khandaq, the country that Black Adam protects...

  15. There's always room to love Felicity even more. ; )

  16. I am soooo mad at you right now, I have so many things in my head I need to say about this episode and I don't know where to start, my comments have become way too long lately and I blame you :@

    ReplyDelete
  17. The best episode of the season so far, great episode and wow, excellent effect that final train scen, was really awesome to watch. Captain Cold is the best villain so far.

I love Felicity, but Barry loves Iris, both works more like a good friends to me.

  18. lmfaooooo!!! You've been "Shannon'd" lol you wouldn't be the first. = p

  19. I loved it. Wentworth Miller was phenomenal.

    ReplyDelete
  20. That's not bashing. Not at all. You're overreacting Mac. It's preference. I disagree personally because even though I love Felicity I really loved Wentworth Miller in this episode.

    ReplyDelete
  21. It's so nice to see Miller grace our screens after Prison Break... Damn all of the guys in that show are making a comeback (TBag, Abruzzi, Linc, and Michael) and they're doing a fantastic job!

But yeah, I totally didn't see any bashing :p. The last thing I would ever do is unnecessarily bash a character. So thanks :D

  22. If Flash is this good right now, can you imagine how good it will be in 2 years when it finally finds its own groove? I SO can't wait!

    ReplyDelete
  23. Another nice episode. Felicity was a nice guest I like how by the end she and Flash were talking on that totally open and personal level. And her comments to her self were great.

I get why Cisco created a Freeze gun, but knowing it was only recently taken, He should have destroyed it/ or better lock it, knowing now it could hurt a friend. But he had Barry's back regardless.

Wells also made very visible his desire to make sure Flash is ok, again right now for what reason we don't know but it's something to note of.

Captain Cold/Leonard Snark was a nice character, I liked his attitude, and his smile when he heard the name Captain Cold. And in the end he gives his pal Mick/Heat Wave the Heat Gun. That was a nice introduction to the start of Rouges.

  24. Dr. Wells "foresaw" a great future por Felicity? interesting!!!

    ReplyDelete
  25. loved the beginning with team flash, was hoping for more barry and caitlin but i liked them playing operation, Cold was a good villain, i still can't get over that he actually escaped ( i mean i knew he was coming back but still) that actually surprised me

    ReplyDelete
  26. yes, he "foresees" a lot of things... it's worth keeping an eye on. It might be for his own advantage.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Ha what a Fun episode and how cool is it, that they stayed with captain cold not beeing a meta human.
Felicity the super heroe pep talker. At some point I see Oliver and Barry talking to a self-destructive superhero in beeing and they can't get through to him. They look at each other and say: Let's get Felicity....

    ReplyDelete
  28. Lol I think it'll find it near the end of season one like Arrow did when it becomes more serialized.

    ReplyDelete
  29. The Visual FX was great, really enjoyed. Felicity Smoak is amazing, Central and Starling City want her. Wentworth Miller was great and i love how The Flash and This season of Arrow contain Cliffhanger at the end of the every episode.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold was amazing as a villain. He was not a metahuman and don't even have a highschool diploma but he was meticulous and willing to adapt. He looked closely at things and changed his strategy accordingly. The best thing I liked about him his disgust at his team mate killing that cop and he let the museum cop live. No unnecessary blood shed. He is disciplined and such villains are more dangerous. I can't wait to see him put together and lead the rogue's gallery.

I am always biased when it comes to Felicity but I loved her this episode. She seamlessly fit into The Flash universe. I liked her interactions with all the cast. This episode solidified Barry and Felicity's friendship. It was a douchey thing of Barry to not inform her once he woke up. But still Felicity was so kind and friendly. I liked it when she asked how the lightning changed him. Dr. Wells do know a lot about her doesn't he?

Iris is still sweet and kind but still boring. I liked Eddie more this episode than Iris. But both of them needs some push to be exciting. Joe was as usual great.
This episode was Cisco's one even though we didn't dwell much on him. Carlos Valdes is actually improving very much. The way Dr. Wells told off Cisco at the end was so menacing and scary. I don't get this guy. He has a good guy vibe most of the time but then comes the menace and plotting.

The Flash is super awesome and is getting better every week. I wish Arrow season 1 was this smooth.

    ReplyDelete
  31. My new favourite show next to Arrow is kicking ass so far. The humour and action are amazing and the plot are entertaining and powerful. The show is still getting it's bearings but every week is better than the last! The Captain Cold remark was the best especially with Millers facial expression after

    ReplyDelete
  32. I really liked working on the team building this episode and Felicity helped a bunch. As did Joe. His scenes were fantastic. I especially enjoyed the "we ain't friends."

They needed a strong villain, frankly they need several. Heroes are nothing without their foils and Barry hasn't had a decent one yet. Wentworth Miller can basically only play slightly annoyed, but secretly enjoying, being the smartest one in the room, but it worked here. The "cold" puns littering the script got old, but I appreciated the attempts at humor and overall how lighthearted The Flash is trying to be. Still he needs something bigger to fight against, make a cause out of.

I'm finally starting to see Eddie as a character, which surprised me because I don't get Cisco or Caitlin yet and I think that is a misstep. As is Iris. Shows make a terrible mistake when they give the hero something funny or charming or character-defining and then have the primary love interest not react in the same way they assume the audience will, namely by finding the hero funny or charming or adorably "them." Why write Iris as a character who doesn't *get* Barry? That makes no sense to me. The sister/brother thing is already hard to overcome. Gustin is adorable and has given the character so much personality, I'd really like to see it in other characters as well.

    ReplyDelete
  33. What's great about Cavanagh's performance is that I buy it/fall for it every week. I'm watching the episode and he's so genuinely nice and kind and I'm totally into it, Barry's got a great mentor. Then the dark-side shows up and it catches me off guard...aww crap that's right he's shady/evil.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I love the fact that the promos lived up to the hype about Felicity appearing in this episode. This was a memorable episode and once again, this show is impressing me week by week.

It was SO AWESOME to see Wentworth Miller on TV again and he is really good at playing the villain.

I'm glad that Joe had a heart-to-heart talk with Iris towards the end and is finally understand her being a relationship with Eddie. Good for him saving Joe's life at the train scene.

Good to see that Cisco attempted to take down the villain in last night's episode. Felicity was so funny when she was coming up with excuses on why Barry had to leave Trivia night.

If there was an option for Pitch Perfect for this episode, I would choose it in a heartbeat! :)

    ReplyDelete
  35. Can you explain to me the train and aeroplane reference. I didn't get that.

They need to give Iris some agency. How can she be so clueless about Barry's emotions when they have spent so much time together growing up. She needs to be in on the secret asap. Don't want a Laurel situation here as I like Candice Patton as Iris.

Also who can hate on Barry and Felicity. They are too cute and adorable to be hated on.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I was praying not to get Captain Cold so we can see W.Miller again!!

    ReplyDelete
  37. Awesome episode!! This show has knocked it out of the park with every episode since it premiered and I'm so happy everyone is praising it so much.

Felicity taking a break from Starling City and head on over to Central City to hang out with Barry and help with the mission was absolutely amazing. I love that woman so much! And she was SMOAKING in that black dress on trivia night :D I still love how much her and Barry geek out with each other, it's so cute haha. Also awww, at the kiss on the train. I find them so adorable together.

Leonard smiling when Cisco called him Captain Cold was great XD He likes his name! And Wentworth Miller did such a fantastic job portraying him. He may be my favorite villain on the show so far. I look forward to seeing him again in the future.

Barry running through the train and saving everyone was incredible. This show continues to present some of the greatest special effects on broadcast television. Kudos!

Barry getting all upset with Cisco throughout the episode was emotional but understandable. But I'm glad they repaired their friendship in the end when Cisco saved Barry from Captain Cold with a vacuum cleaner. HA!

I like that there will be no more secrets between Iris and Joe. He needed to hear that and hopefully now he will accept that Eddie and his daughter are dating.

And finally, that final scene!! That was great. Heat Wave is coming!! And I love that the two brothers from Prison Break are now Hot/Cold XD. The Rogues are starting to form!

  38. Just awful. Have to switch channel. Let's hope Felicity doesn't come into town anytime soon again.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The train and Airplane reference, is about Superman/Clark Kent. (whom Barry is friends with given he is a member of the JL) Barry said "Trains are the safest way to travel" And Felicity replied, "I thought that was airplanes." Clark always said, "Statistically speaking airplanes are the safest way to travel." Meaning FLYING is the safest way. So that was a DC nod to him in that conversation. (along with the other references they threw in that episode)

Well i'm assuming Barry is just really really good at hiding it, or Iris is just really blind. The situation isn't TOO uncommon, the "best friends on the sidelines" thing and given her other relationships throughout the years, she most likely wouldn't see it (if he didn't really show signs that is) but it's like geez, get a clue woman. lol I like Iris too, (always have way before this series, growing up) but she really bugged me tonight, uhh last night. And i'm calling it, Iris will find out in the season finale.

Well everyone has their ships, Barricity isn't one of them. A lot of people are shipping Baitlan right now, which i just don't get, smh, but w/e.

    ReplyDelete
  40. oohh. Thanks for explaining the reference.

I like Iris a lot in this show. She is sweet and only has best intentions for Barry but she needs to get a job. We need to see her do something meaningful and not be just about her romance with Eddie and Barry's feelings for her.

I don't ship Barry and Felicity. But damn their scenes are so much fun. My cute little nerd puppies. No one can hate them:) I am waiting for Barry/Iris to wow me in this show.

One thing I don't get is why once again they made the lead pair life long acquaintances. Here Barry is Iris's friend from childhood and there in Arrow Oliver knew Laurel since they were in school. What happened to old fashioned boy meets girl, sparks fly and relationship happens stuff. Barry is already in love with Iris. We don't get to see when it happened or how it happened?

    ReplyDelete
  41. Your welcome. When you said "Iris needs a job" I'm like what? she has a job, what do u mean? then i read the rest and knew what you meant. LOL...she does, it just hasn't been introduced yet.

You already know who i ship soooo yeahh. lmao But Barricity is cute-ish. lol i don't mind them, but i don't ship em. But i don't hate em either.

You do know this is from the comic books right? lol You should go to the store and grab some, i'm not gonna explain everything. lol I'll be here all day. lol = p

    ReplyDelete
  42. Now that you are on a roll :p one more question. Does the name Bartholomew has any significance?

    ReplyDelete
  43. Hahahaha it has HUGE significance. That's Bart Allen. lmao...awww you're cute.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Juliana Carvalho30 October 2014 at 02:51

Ok, I'm so glad you said that about people being in love before the show starts... I just don't get it! Iris is obviously very pretty and charming, but why is Barry so head over heels in love with her? Why? I hope they answer that pretty soon because I like Iris and I don't want another Laurel/Oliver situation on my hands. Too stressfull.

    ReplyDelete
  45. This method clearly did not work for them in Arrow. I don't understand why they went with this here in Flash. They could have easily bumped Barry and Iris in episode 1 and went from there. The positive about such story telling is we as audience get to see and feel what these two characters felt when they saw each other first and then on. In this case I am wondering when did Barry fell in love with Iris? In high school? Also Iris referring to them as brother/sister. Ewww. Unnecessary. What's up with these writers and keeping it in family. First Oliver with Lance sisters, Thea crushing on Tommy, Digg with his SIL, Robert Oliver and Isobel, even Laurel with Tommy and Oliver who were like brothers and now Barry and Iris who Iris refers to as closest thing to a brother. Funny thing none of the above relationships worked out. I badly want to love Iris/Barry. I hope I can.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I thought Cisco creating a freeze gun felt totally out of left field. In the pilot, testing Barry's powers and every time thereafter he's been so gunho happy about the whole endeavor. When exactly was he worried that Barry was evil?

    ReplyDelete
  47. Exactly my point. We loved Felicity because we saw a change in Oliver the moment he met her. There was no history. He was blatantly lying to her and she didn't believe him for a second. With Iris and Barry they are both adorable and lovely people. Where is the influence on each other? All we have is their history. And in next episode Barry is going to visit Iris as The Flash because of her blog. It is such a tired comic book trope. I don't understand why these writers aren't trying anything new. Now I read Eddie is going to have issues with Iris's obsession with the red streak and will notice Barry's feelings for Iris. Now where have I seen that? Oh yes it is another version of Oliver/Laurel/Tommy without the cheating angle. Can't they come up with something original?

    ReplyDelete
  48. Great ep, nice to see wentworth again (loved prison break) and he made a great villain. Great to have felicity in it although she should definitely stick to kissing Oliver lol!

    ReplyDelete
  49. So your good now? You at least know who Bart is?? And what made u ask that??

    ReplyDelete
  50. I know who Bart is. He is Barry's grandson right. I was rewatching the episode and was picking up these references. So wondered who Bartholomew is when Barry was talking to Joe? They don't just simply drop names in this show. I like to stay ahead of easter eggs. Isn't Bart the one who had accelerated healing like Felicity said? Is there any version of Flash who disintegrated like she referenced?

    ReplyDelete
  51. I'm at work now. Can't talk, but someone else will answer your questions, by the time i get off. ttyl = )

    ReplyDelete
  52. Definitely my favorite episode to date. Wentworth Miller was perfect in his role and any Felicity appearance is always welcome. The crossover episodes with Arrow have worked very well for this show.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Juliana Carvalho30 October 2014 at 16:46

If Eddie and Felicity both noticed Barry's feelings for Iris, how can she not? Ugh.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Juliana Carvalho30 October 2014 at 17:01

I just saw a poll on TVLine asking with whom Barry has more chemistry with and Caitlin is winning, Felicity is second and Iris only have 20% of the votes. So the writters have another pickle and unfortunately they don't have a backup plan as great as Felicity was for Arrow, 'cause I don't see that much chemistry between Caitlin and Barry and really liked her with Ronnie. So they need to fix this Iris situation ASAP.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Not a comic book reader but the person whom he was talking to in last scene is Mick Rory aka "Heat wave" who uses the fire gun. Domic Purcell who played Miller's brother in Prison Break is casted for the role.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Sad thing is I do think Iris and Barry have chemistry. I like Candice Patton as Iris. I thought in the pilot episode when he comes to meet her at the cafe after waking up they showed some good chemistry. But after that Iris treats him more like a little brother (not even a friend) so much that we are left cold in their scenes. They need to either stop Barry's puppy love for Iris and take this up at a later time or write differently for these characters. Something needs to be done soon. I want Iris/Barry to work out.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Instead of planning dates for Barry they should make Iris question Barry's whereabouts. He spends so much time in Star labs and crime fighting and he got new friends. Why hasn't Iris noticed such things?

    ReplyDelete
  58. Good to know, thank you.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Juliana Carvalho31 October 2014 at 12:47

    Exactly!

  60. Juliana Carvalho31 October 2014 at 12:50

I do too. I don't see it with Caitlin, though. I mean, they obviously connected in episode 3, there were some pretty sweet moments, but in my point of view it was not romantic at all.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Felicity is just as awesome on Flash as on Arrow. I liked all the Felicity and Barry scenes. I think they're pretty cute together actually. Too bad neither show will let them explore a small romance for a while. Even as friends, I like their scenes a lot. I hope Felicity recurs more often on The Flash.
