Krypton - Rumoured TV Show in Development

27 Oct 2014

That Man Of Steel writer/producer David Goyer is involved in a TV show called Krypton.

As we have previously mentioned, if you want a DC Comics film made these days, you’ve gotta get a Goyer. And it seems the same may be true for TV shows.

The name suggests a pre-Superman drama set on the planet Krypton, maybe involving the House Of El, maybe Brainiac, maybe an end of the world cult, maybe lots of dragons flying around the place.

  1. So basically this is a prequel to Smallville.

  2. Why do i think that this might not be that good. Why are they trying something like that so close to Gotham, before they even saw any kind of feedback from Gotham.

  3. PULL THE FREAKING BRAKES DC!!!

I love Arrow, the Flash is doing fine and Gotham is a great addition. BUT with over five (!) possible TV projects in developement you guys a risking way too much.

First let Supergirl and Titans go to pilot, discuss another Arrow/Flash spin-off with theCW.
    3 shows are enough

Lucifer and Krypton can wait. Especially since DC insists to keep everything in another universe this might prove too confusing

Not sure what to think about this....the show would be about Krypton....could be a cool concept....

  5. Meh Gotham's okay.

  6. I'm not actually excited for this at all. Much more for Titans.

  7. I agree. They way they're handeling their universes may be a little confusing for casual viewers.

  8. Does DC consider Smallville to be canon? Or fit in with any of their Superman movies? Doubtful, because that's what you'd call A Huge Effing Mistake. So no. I'm 99.9999999% sure this would have absolutely, without a doubt nothing to do with that C level series :)

  9. I guess it could be cool..?

  10. I think the oppposite would be true, I've gotten to the point where I'm wary of getting excited about their projects because they make you feel like you need to watch everything, because everything is connected. With DC you only have to watch what you want, I don't see how that's very confusing. :)

  11. Krypton would be a challenging project, could be quite interesting.

  12. When will execs realize Top Cow has really great titles that could be great if advertised, IMO they need to lay off Marvel and DC a while, Top Cow comics tend to actually be more worth reading. Especially for re-reads.

  13. right now not at all.

Back when Birds of Prey was a show it was. I was actually confused as hell since the show kicked off as if it was a spin-off and looked all over for the mother show.

It's not confusing yet but it will be.

When Krypton and Supergirl are set in different universes we'll have reached a "too much" point

  14. pssshh don't be too loud about that

  15. Ever since MoS I've been rating on about giving Jor-El a prequel. The visuals were fantastic and I think there's a lot of interesting things to explore around Krypton that haven't been explored. But I would only really be behind this if Russell Crowe is attached, which he won't be - but he also started to push for a sequel. Give this man a movie!

I can't deny I won't be excited for this show.

  16. Lol I really doubt that such an opinion is uncommon now.

  17. Euphemia tore me a new one after saying that I disliked the pilot more than I thought I would

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh I saw that. Too be fair the pilot was pretty good. The rest of the series not as good.

    ReplyDelete
  19. lol I thought we were past that. And you didn't like it, you hated it with passion.

  20. This would never work as a long running show.

  21. I liked the second episode better, a LOT better tbh, felt more like a show I could get into (tbh I won`t as this season is...indeed meh)

    ReplyDelete
  22. okay, I hated the pilot, I admit.
We are past that, just pointing out facts :P

  23. I hope that this is just a rumor as this doesn't sound like a good idea..... a bit of overkill, imo...

  24. no one else on here seem to see that word lol.

  25. So, it's about....Kryptonians doing normal things? Another "procedural masquerading as a superhero show" like Gotham then?

    Pass thank you...

  26. Smallville was eventually named what is known as an "Elseworld" I believe. Similar to Marvel's "What If?". Alternative stories that does not fit in main canon/continuity.

  27. Your also forgetting Young Justice live action is being made by The CW
