CBS gives Pilot Production Commitment to Rush Hour TV Series

Rush Hour is coming to CBS.

The network has given a pilot production commitment to the television adaptation of the 1998 film, which hails from Cougar Town co-creator Bill Lawrence, Blake McCormick and Warner Bros. Television, EW has learned.

Much like the premise of the film, which starred Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker, the drama will follow a stoic, by-the-book Hong Kong police officer who is assigned to a case in Los Angeles and forced to work with a cocky African-American LAPD officer who has no interest in a partner.

Lawrence and McCormick will write and executive-produce the one-hour action comedy with original director Brett Ratner, Arthur Sarkissian and Jeff Ingold.
