Yes! The interactions between her and Regina could be so much more... we could see the glimpse of it in the jail scene. So sad they decided to kill her off:(
I feel the exact opposite way. I though the first part of season 3 was much better, it was darker and more psychological, it was slower and I really liked what they did with Pan. Zelena on the other hand, I feel the writers just filled 10 episodes with characters having no idea what they were doing and resolved everything with Regina just raising her hands. It felt a little silly to me.
I think they weren't subtle enough with her character. The character of Zelena is a symbole of Jealousy, She become Jealousy. My probleme with OUAT Zelena is that she basically become jealous of Regina the moment she learnt about her. It so quick it's almost ridiculous. Probably more time passed than I thought but it didn't feel like it. It's an envy built up with time until it all explode. Which made her litteraly green with envy. But It felt so incredibly rushed, that it was far less enjoyable than it could have been.
For me they didn't waste her character in S3, they wasted her for S4.... I mean it's a "frozen" arc for S4A, a story about sisters, and they killed Regian's sister just before that? That's a waste!
The OUAT producers make the common creators and overpower their Villains. I mean they did it with Rumple, Cora, Pan, Zelena. And than the ultimate blow up always seems so underwhelming. I mean honestly the way Regina took out Zelena was to simple, to freaking easy. Overall the Zelena arc was nice, I hoped for a lot more Oz as it's a fantastic story. But Zelena had her really good moments. Her backstory was nicely done and I fairly enjoyed it, but there was a lot more space for it to develop. The 11 episode arc thing how much good does the show it's also bad they need at least 2-3 more eps pro Arc.
What fresh hell is this? This is a really, really uninspired poll. Seriously, a "yes" or "no" question about a character being wasted, whom I've never heard anyone saying was wasted before? Characters like Ruby, Archie and Mother Superior ARE wasted on this show. Rebecca Mader as Zelena was the Big Bad for season 3B, she appeared in 10 consecutive episodes and got 2 centrics out of those, and more focus than most regulars during that period. Whether or not you enjoyed her story, she was not wasted, not in the least.
Horrible act of cruelty from writers was killing Neal and Zelena. Regina is all alone in this world. Now, in 4th season, Zelena could be very helpful to her sister.
I think they could have done better with this character. I found the writers approach to this storyline quite superficial especially considering that Zelena's connection with one of the main characters (Regina) was a really good starting point. So yes, for me they kind of wasted her character.
Absolutely not imo, she saved the show. Could they have done more with her character? Yes, but that would have dragged it out too much. I did think it was kind of stupid to have her killed off in the penultimate episode and then have a 2 hour finale of just CaptainSwan. The time travel aspect was really really cool though.
Characters that have been wasted are Ariel, Red/Ruby, Ursula, Blue/Mother Superior, Tinkerbell, Blackbeard, Mulan, Aurora and many more. And if you had asked me 2 months ago I would have said Zuso & Maleficent as well but they are coming back. OUAT has a habbit of bringing back old characters so more than likely others will return too.
Zelena was a very strong character and a perfect villain, she was used perfectly in 3B imo, and if you're left wanting more of her then I'd say the writers did an excellent job.
Zelena was a good character but her storyline was too quick. Peter Pan appeared in season 2 and season 3a but Zelena only appeared in what?10 episodes?So yes,Zelena was wasted.
Kinda yes to this one.They started off her character really well but at the end didn't really had a clue what to do with her so they killed her off idiotically in episode 20.Who kills the main villain like that easily before a 2 hour season finale is beyond me!
I don't think it was that easy to take Zelena out... She was smart enough to protect herself from the only person who could do that and was eventually only defeated because nobody - including Regina - expected the Evil Queen of all people to be able to use the light magic. I think they did a good job creating an intelligent villain who covered all the bases and lost because of something she couldn't possibly predict.
I agree she played a really good game. She covered most of her bases but with her amount of power U would elimintae the Charmings(except Snow), lock up Regina and go easily into the process. Yeah you can write it down on her being to cocky like most of the villains but I think if they'd took of a nuge on her being that powerful it would be a muchore interesting.
Well, I would say I'd enjoyed zelena, and rebecca mader's performance, but she could of been used just a little bit more. Exploring a growing relationship in s4 would of been lovely with regina.
Most of the response to s3 depends on the person, with arcs and characters.
Pan is my all time favorite villain, but I despised most of his arc besides the remaining episodes. As for zelena, while I liked her less then pan, she still was a pretty fun mentally unstable wicked witch, and I enjoyed her arc infinitely more then neverland. But that's just IMO
The only villains I hated and wanted to never see again were greg and tamera(I think we can all agree to that)
I enjoyed her inmesely, but they shouldn't have killed her off so prematurely, I'd have liked a redemptions storyline with her just like we've seen with Regina, and I would've loved to see a relationship between the two sisters. So I guess I'll vote YES.
I don't exactly like how the poll puts it. Her arc, and herself was well done. And the first arc I enjoyed truly for the whole run past season 1. Without it I would of quit the show. But now I'm excited at the potential of s4. But, still I wanted more of her, and the potential for her to change and grow like regina.

I'm so excited for Maleficent's story arc! I'm so happy she's going to be the big bad for season 4B (or so they say).

She was smart enough to protect herself from the only person who could do that and was eventually only defeated because nobody - including Regina - expected the Evil Queen of all people to be able to use the light magic. I think they did a good job creating an intelligent villain who covered all the bases and lost because of something she couldn't possibly predict.

ReplyDeleteOh you're right,I forgot it. But the point is that at least they mentioned him and Neverland. Zelena was introduced very quickly.
