  1. That last montage gave me chills, a very strong start to this new season, can't wait for next week! I wonder where simmons is...

  2. OH GOD I'M TRAUMATIZED. THAT WAS VERY TRAUMATIC. AND I CHANGED MY MIND. NOBODY GIVE WARD A RAZOR. VERY BAD IDEA.

And I figured it was coming but poor Fitz. I hope Jemma comes back soon. And I think Isabelle's still alive but badly injured.

    Amazing start to the season!

  3. AHHH so much happened in the last few minutes! My emotions. It was so awesome but so heartbreaking at the same time.

Nooo poor Fitz. The theories were right that he was hallucinating. Was anyone getting Topher from Dollhouse vibes after Topher was brain damaged to in the last few episodes of Dollhouse? Because I know I was. And I miss real Simmons.I wish she didn't leave or think it was for the best to be gone. I want real Simmons dammit.

  4. umm oh my goodness i wrote my last comment before I saw the post scene! Skye's father is Hydra? interesting how the promo for next week gives out little detail

    ReplyDelete
  5. Dark start. Good start but I wish Coulson's disconnect with the team wasn't so pronounced.

    ReplyDelete
  6. I keep forgetting that a Whedon show can bring this level of pain.

without giving any spoiler away.....is Talbot an ally or antagonist....or what

    ReplyDelete
  8. WOW. That was great. I didn't expect Ward to self-harm, so I'm kind of scared as to what he'll end up doing to himself. And Fitz... Personally, I would have rather seen him in the hospital than this broken state. That was saddening.

Overall, I'm loving the start to the season. However, if Coulson says, "go dark," every episode, I'm probably going to flip.

    ReplyDelete
  9. I know. I think I would have almost preferred coma or just waking up Fitz to poor severely brain damaged Fitz who can't function and isn't living in reality. That really broke my heart. I was looking forward to his storyline being drawn out well but now I really want them to cure him fast!Where is that alien blood? Or a miracle cure in the next episodes to come. Because it is just soo sad to watch him fall apart like this.

is the team still being targeted by govnement? and I sure hydra knows about them as well....hate to wait 2 hours

  11. one word AWESOME! but I was sad for that Fitz he was just talking too himself so sad I do hope that girl comes back she was the sweet one on the show. But my God with that woman losing are arm poor Lucy I hope there not all dead in that van it is to have them Guest star and killed off right away. I like the 1st part with the chick from Cap A I here that's going too be a show soon with her.

  12. Awesome start to the season.

Poor Fitz. What a twist, Simmons isn't really there. She needs to come back. Fitz is not okay without her.

    ReplyDelete
  13. But good writing Whedon has never let me down on a show.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Those Whedon's always invoking so many emotions. I still have not forgotten what they did to Wash on Firefly. Why Whedon brothers, why?

    ReplyDelete
  15. Awesome. Steller. Exhilarating. Flawless. The list goes on...

This was hands down one of the most thrilling hours of television I have experienced. HOLY MOLY SO MUCH HAPPENED.

Poor Fitzy :( First, he's recovering from brain damage and now he has been hallucinating about Simmons this whole time. WHY ARE YOU MESSING WITH MY FEELINGS? THIS IS EMOTIONALLY NOT OKAY. Ugh, where's my Simmons?? And I really hope Fitz can be healed. I felt so bad for him when he kept of forgetting words. He's really not himself. God, that was so heartbreaking to watch.

There is no way in hell Idaho and Izzy are already dead. But ouch at Izzy getting her hand cut off. A nod to Victoria Hand perhaps? Hmmm.

That slow-mo of May and Skye riding off in the motorcycle and jet was so badass.

I was surprised at how amazing the special effects were! The Absorbing Man's effects were phenomenal.

Woah at Ward attempting suicide by cutting his wrists. That's not good.

And Skye being all snarky with Ward was great. More of that please.

And Dr. Whitehall! Should be interesting to see what his intentions are.

Time to go watch this premiere 3 more times! So damn good.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Season 2 started off on the right foot! Skye is so BADASS! a little said not Simmons right now. Glad Trip is back. He just needs to join the cast. A+ start

who funding SHIELD? there going to need unlimited supply of weapons

    ReplyDelete
  18. I wasn't that impressed tbh. There were a few things that elicited an emotional response, like seeing Peggy and the Commandos, seeing Iain beautifully and tragically portray a broken Fitz, and even seeing my favourite Skye kicking it up into high gear as an agent; but a lot of it failed to rile me up like I expected. Not a fan of the fact that Simmons only appeared as a crutch to Fitz's story line, and the other characters were side lined for a plot that was kind of boring.

Pretty pumped about Whitehall though. I still hold onto that limping hope that a Zodiac story line won't be far behind Kraken.

Also, is Lucy's character dead? She looked kinda dead, and that is HELLA NOT COOL with me.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Is that really it for Izzy already? :(

  20. SHIELDNCISArrowfan24 September 2014 at 03:50

they won't kill her off that fast........she just seriously injuried

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm stil shocked the Simmons was not there... And Fitz hallucinating was just very painful..they were not kidding when they said the S2 will be a very dark season

    ReplyDelete
  22. what a fantastic start to the season, setting up all the goodness (and badness) to come, heartbreaking news for poor broken Fitz, but you know the cure is one Simmons away... lol very cool scene with the Skye/Ward interrogation, and bummer that Izzy and team look to be in a bad way, but I don't think that they are gone..... and on top of all this awesomeness was the tidbit with the badass treat that is one Agent Carter giving us all a tease for what's to come. Very satisfying start to the season

    ReplyDelete
  23. HOLY CRAP WHAT THE HELL ARE THESE WHEDONS DOING TO US, i should've known something was wrong with leo, jemma didn't talk to anyone BUT leo i just should've known DAMN IT, grant ward suicidal completely didn't expect it, part me thought it could happen i just didn't think they'd do it, and skye yeah she's so freaking badass but i miss her lightness sooo much, i DO like that may and her becoming friends, still love koenig, i don't like coulson treating the team he spent all of the first with season with and became family with like they're just some low-level agents, i knew whitehall is the Big Bad of the season but i didn't expect him to be from the past and is now in the present that surpised me, and i loved the opening scene with agent carter now i sort of can't wait until the series comes, now the most important question of the season: WHERE IN THE HELL IS JEMMA SIMMONS

    ReplyDelete
  24. Loving this so much, it was perfect!! No words really, it just exceeded my expectations.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Great season opener. It didn't want for anything with me

    ReplyDelete
  26. I asked that same question when I was watching.

    ReplyDelete
  27. OH GOD! THAT ENDING WAS CRAZY SHIT LEVEL! I CANT EVEN!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Great start, good new characters, some real great changings and can't wait to see the rest of the season.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Why the f*** did Simmons leave?

S.H.I.E.L.D. is in shambles, HYDRA is still in play, Fitz is brain-damaged and she has the nerve to leave in light of all that?

    JACK-ASSED COWARD!!!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Was he really suicidal or just manipulative?

    ReplyDelete
  31. SHIELDNCISArrowfan24 September 2014 at 05:49

Damn HYDRA is going hard to destroy without any military support and Talbot being a idiot of not becoming an ally........I doubt the military has the skills to hunt down HYDRA agents as these are SHIELD agent trained to disappear and all

    ReplyDelete
  32. This is my first Whedon show. I thought I knew true pain...

    ReplyDelete
  33. I wish I could say you get used to it.

    ReplyDelete
  34. great episode.. but i dont get it why would Simmons think its better if she isnt there !! clearly Fitz needs her .. and i love #SkyeWard .. and pls tell me Lucy isnt dead !!

    ReplyDelete
  35. Crusher Creel, awesome! Will his lover/partner Titania make an appearance? If so her (Titania's) arch - nemesis She - Hulk (from the Secret Wars) should be right behind her.............my fingers crossed. Awesome season 2 premiere! 4 THE CALVARY ACTION FIGURE, I am Nobody!!!

can Arrow season 3 premiere top this AOS season 2 premiere?

  37. Watch Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Firefly and Dollhouse! Don't walk to Netflix, run!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Fantastic start to the season. So glad SHIELD is back on TV :)

    ReplyDelete
  39. in the hulk comics Talbot is the anti Bruce love interest for betty ross and is a bit of a A-hole in the same way general ross is. so more likely to be an antagonist and stay that unless something really big happens.

    ReplyDelete
  40. SHIELDNCISArrowfan24 September 2014 at 07:42

probably kidnapping of his son who I think is not normal probably a miracle......he was protecting him when he talking to Coulson......bet HYDRA will kidnapping him and even with military support he cannot go after him because it somethng that US military can't go and I bet he ask Coulson for help

    ReplyDelete
  41. A great start to the season. Poor poor Fitz. I hope Simmons comes back next episode. It will take time to adjust and get to know new characters. All of them except May looks so broken. Skye/Ward interrogation was really good. I am pumped for this season.

    ReplyDelete
  42. why can't we have and option "awful but awesome"

    ReplyDelete
  43. SHIELDNCISArrowfan24 September 2014 at 08:02

I think Simmons is looking for some cure for Fitz.......

    ReplyDelete
  44. I miss Skye's olf hair style.
But besides that, that was awesome start. I liked the 084 connection to the first one. And it was actually not bad seeing Peggy Carter and Cap's pals in the past. I was going to not watch her show but now I will. And that create with the Kree body. It was in Hydra's hands at the start. Damn man those bad guys knows how to progress in science and collecting resources way better then the good guys. Heck that Reed Diamond Hydra guy is still alive in top condition. You got to give Hydra respect for that.

Fitz and Simmons stuff was a sad reveal at the end, I kind of thought it was off after May appeared and didn't much say anything to Simmons and I was right on that hunch. That's suck why would she leave her friend. But I'm not worried for Fitz, I'm sure he will get better specially in the universe they live in. IF not, whats the point of having him right. but yea l like FItz a lot, hope he gets better soon.

Coulson being in the office and directing a lot more agents/mercenaries was expected since he is the Leader now, but I miss the small team. Tho I'm sure we should something similar soon.

And Ward needs to be back on the field, I can care less for Hunter, and tho May and Skye are great I miss the guy I know on the field. I like how he said everything I say from now on will be the Truth to Skye.

The Creel guy was interesting, guess he will be like Mike Peterson / Deathlok the super element. Tho this guy really does have an interesting gift/mutation or whatever.

The Team/Family element was lacking, I hope we get that back too.

    ReplyDelete
  45. + I love the new agents already. Really hope its not the last we see of Lucy Lawless. Lance wasn't as douchey as I feared and had nice chemistry with others. Mack also fit in nicely.

+ Can't not mention the lovely Trip <3

+ Ugh Ward. Ugh. Sorry I feel like he is completely manipluating Skye (or trying to) and knowing just how much Fitz is messed up now makes me loathe Ward even more for what he did to him.

+ Happy Skye was having none of Ward's shit. Like her and May working together.

+ Director Coulson needs a holiday just not to Tahti.

+ I don't know why they want a Quinjet did they learn nothing from The Avengers? Both Quinjets got blown out of the water within minutes ;)

    ReplyDelete
  46. Fury, I think he had a huge secret stash of money when he handed SHIELD over to Coulson. Fury was saving for a rainy day clearly.

    ReplyDelete
  47. They briefly mentioned the problem, so it might come up more often in future episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Awesome episode. Too bad about simmons but it had a lot of stuff to look for in this season. But how the hell was he still alive after all these years. Was he also cryogenically frozen?

    ReplyDelete
  49. I hope so. It's so difficult to believe Simmons would leave Fitz alone when he is in this condition. But then again all of them looks traumatized except May and Tripp.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Lou: I think you are right on the money with Ward. i think this suicide thing is a plot by him although Im not 100 percent on that. Bret Dalton has really stepped up a peg when it comes to playing Ward. Im still finding him the most interesting character.. and he is confined to one room now.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I mean I could understand why he would be suicidal and I could see it being something that actually happened because of his mental health and the position he has found himself in but also I feel like he is playing Skye and even if he isn't he is still being really creepy towards her.

Ward was often compared to Black Widow last season which suggests his skills of manipulation are top-notch, he has many layers and whoever the real Ward is and whatever his real motivations are we don't know the half of it yet.

    ReplyDelete
  52. OMG that was amazing. Every second!!! And when they did the Simmons reveal, my heart literally tore in two!!! I can't bear it, poor poor Fitz!! Brilliant acting though.

Grabbing the thing was super dumb of Isabella. She and her team need to learn to trust Coulson. Though, I guess its hard with everything falling apart. I like the Lance though, he's pretty cool.

They introduced loads of cool stuff in this episode, and I can't wait to see how it pans out. Especially the Skye/Ward situation! Eek, so weird having to deal with that crazy traitor. I hope Fitz gets better though :(

    ReplyDelete
  53. Didn't personally think it was as good as the finale of last season but it was still quite good. The reveal of Fitz's problem at the end was a killer. I also really enjoyed Lucy Lawless in this ep.

    ReplyDelete
  54. She might be doing something else for SHIELD or for Fitz somewhere else. We will see her again according to future episode summaries.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Sorry but I have to tell you, I like your name. Nice Hackers allusion.

    ReplyDelete
  56. Yeah that one i chose because the other one was kind of not very easily pronounced. My other nickname that i use is Cereal_Killer.

    ReplyDelete
  57. I think Angel and Dollhouse are the most comparable to AoS in terms of Whedon-esque storytelling.

    ReplyDelete
  58. We saw Fitz is working and, as far as we could see, no one is checking his work.

It would be interesting to see him build something dangerous unintentionally or subconsciously. As he said to FZZT!Simmons...He still has ideas.

    ReplyDelete
  59. What a great start to the season.
That Fitz storyline was really sad, I hope Simmons is back soon.

So is this Dr. Whitehall immortal or something? I have no idea who he is in the comics, I really don't follow that stuff.

    ReplyDelete
  60. I want to hug Fitz so tight and never let go. (Amazing episode and all.) My baby Fitz.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I loved it! Can't wait for the rest of the Season!

    ReplyDelete
  62. It was good, but not the best episode:
-I can't see any possible redemption for Ward now that we've seen what's going on with Fitz. I suspected it was probably brain damage, but nothing this bad. The actor playing Ward must be under contract or something.
-If Lucy Lawless' character got killed off in the season premiere after people made so much fuss over her, I will never stop laughing.
-I don't understand why the government always has to be an antagonist in this genre. I got tired of looking at Talbot last season.
-Reed Diamond, yay! I think someone needs to re-examine the idea of people from 1945 still being so young, though. I'm pretty sure the last WWII vet died of old age. Maybe they'll say that Carter and that other guy were frozen or something. Otherwise these people would be dead or in nursing homes.

    ReplyDelete
  63. The Absorbing Man was 7 kinds of awesome. Really like the new characters, though Trip still bugs the crap out of me. And Fitz... oh man. I suspected he was hallucinating, but the actual reveal was such a bigger gutpunch than I thought it would be; broke my friggin heart.

    ReplyDelete
  64. I haven't seen those, but I can say that Firefly manages to do a real number on you with just 14 episodes and a movie. Plus the AoS crew feels a bit more like the Serenity gang this year, what with being more of a ragtag bunch and trying to fly under the radar.

    ReplyDelete
  65. I have a question. I don't know who was in the box at the 1945 hydra base. I saw the tattoo on the arm, but can't figure it out. Somebody clue me in

    ReplyDelete
  66. This was definitely worth the wait. Loved the opening scene with Agent Carter and the Howling Commandos - and the original 0-8-4.
Skye's training sessions with May have really paid off; she's capable of actually kicking some butt now. I like. :) I also like how she and Trip are apparently pretty good friends now.
The new guys seem like an interesting bunch. Can't wait to see more of them.
And oh dear God, Fitz just broke my heart. Simmons, get your butt back here pronto!

    ReplyDelete
  67. Wow that was dark. Whedon's brothers loves to give me chills.

    ReplyDelete
  68. I haven't seen the episode yet, shame on me, but maybe that's where The Doctor/ Skye's father chimes in? Maybe they go to him to fix Fitz's problem.

    ReplyDelete
  69. My heart hurts so bad for Fitz. Not only is his mind more or less gone, but Jemma left him, and the rest of his team can't look at him without pity in their eyes. Skye was right - Ward should have run faster at that wall. I hope he at least gave himself the mother of all concussions. That may be mean, but I'm not feeling particularly charitable at the moment. God, it's so heartbreaking.

On other notes - this was a really strong opening. I like Skye being more of a field agent, having the new agents around, and how the dynamics of the team are changing so much. The show works so much better when the team has only itself to rely on, when it has opposition from several sides. I really can't wait to see the growth of the new relationship between May and Skye. Also, where did Simmons go, and will it break Fitz more when she comes back? And more Tripp, please! Always more Tripp!

And finally, what is up with Ward? Did he hit himself that hard in the head when he ran at that wall, or are they pumping a lot of drugs into his cell through the vents? Or is he just not that great of an actor on the fly and thinks this is what contrition for murder and betrayal looks like? Because he doesn't seem like he's sorry, he seems like he's stoned. And I don't even mean that in an "I don't trust Ward" way, I mean he seriously looked like he ate every pot brownie at the picnic. At least he's useful, I guess. He was more interesting when he was evil, though.

    Glad to see Ward

    ReplyDelete
  71. Carter is in a nursing home. The scene at the beginning of the episode was a flashback. They showed her in a nursing home in present day in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

    ReplyDelete
  72. Amazing start to the season. I am so glad this premiere kept up the action and storytelling from the end of season 1. Loved the episode starting with Agent Carter and the Howling Commandos. Awesome characters. That absorbing guy was cool. I'm glad SHIELD actually seems like it's being kept alive, with more agents than just the team from season 1. Ward's character arc this episode was intriguing. I can't believe Izzy is dead already though. So sad about what's happened to Fitz. I was completely caught by
surprise to find out that he's been hallucinating Jemma all that time. May, Tripp, and Skye are pretty badass. I guess if anyone can train Skye to become a good field agent, it'd be May. I'm so excited about and looking forward to this season!

  73. "The principle SHIELD was founded upon was pure. Protection. Sometimes to protect one man against himself other times to protect the planet...but the belief that drives us all is the same whether it is one man or all of mankind. That they are worth saving" - Fury. Nobody's born a monster. They are made. Product of a cruel world filled with cruel people.
