  1. What the hell at that ending. If the show ends there and isn't renewed, that is going to be horrible (and Paige will be directly responsible for Mike's death).

So Charlie didn't lose the baby? I couldn't hear that part but it seemed like everything was fine in that department?

  2. Charlie didn't lose the baby, which is a miracle considering how she was beaten. Season 2 of Graceland has done nothing but destroy the majority of these characters. Jakes' inability to keep his personal problems from making professional mistakes has made him a crappy agent since season 1. Johnny's professional incompetence has cost the entire operation and possibly Lucia's life. Charlie is compromised because she knows Briggs killed Badillo. Not only has she put her personal feelings for Briggs above the law, but Charlie has made MIke culpable because she couldn't handle the responsibility of making a choice and decided to pass the buck. Briggs not only has the blood of one FBI agent's blood on his hands, but he almost became a murderer twice over when he planned to have Mike killed in the bank heist. Pagie is now a murderer also, regardless if Mike dies or not. She disgusts me on every level. Paige acts like Mike killed Lina. Mike did not kill Lina! I'm not saying it was right for him to burn the girl's body, but he did everything he could to protect Lina and the other girls in the flop house. He just wasn't able to save Lina. Sid needs to be put down like the rapid dog he is. On top of everything Mike has had to endure, it looks like he will be framed on multiple counts of murder thanks to this scum bag of a cop. Graceland is no longer a safe haven. It is a viper's nest that Mike would've been far better off if he never step one foot in the door.

  3. Thx for the link.. I think you are right..

  4. So let me get this right. According to Eastin, Mike has to pay the ultimate price for the actions he took in the flop house. I've said it before and I'll say it again, Mike didn't kill Lina! I cannot believe Eastin is trying to justify Paige sending Sid to kill Mike by saying Paige felt betrayed by Mike. Are you kidding me!! Since when does that justify murder. And speaking of murderers, Eastin may have killed Mike so that Briggs can be the main character. Where is the ultimate price to be paid for Paige and Briggs? This show has gone off the rails big time to the point it really doesn't deserve a season 3.

  5. The end bit aside, I'm pissed that they didn't resolve any of the plotlines. They're going to be picking up just as many threads at the start of next year as they do every week during a season.

  6. I don't think he's dead. He mentions that Mike still has the tape, and it would be best for Briggs if he died, meaning if he dies the tape is gone. I really hope they wouldn't throw away the whole first season plot completely after doing basically nothing with it this season. Plus, USA needs at least two main characters named Mike at all times.

  7. That interview does make it seem that he certainly gone.

  8. all i have to say is holly sh*t

  9. That was a frustrating way to end the season, especially if they do another time skip. However....I'd like to point out that Mike isn't necessarily dead. The doctor's have a window of time to bring him back, even though his heart stopped. I'm more concerned about the possibility of brain damage or coma.

No matter what the outcome, Paige is on my shit list for life. She already spent most of the season pissing me off, but when she went to SID? She became the only person in the house I wouldn't shed a tear for if they died. Even if she thought Mike murdered that girl in cold blood, she could have just turned him over to the authorities for the massacre in Mexico. And I think one of the reasons I'm so pissed off at her is because I liked her before she became obsessed with Lina. If there was something deeper going on there, it was a mistake not to explore it because I, as a viewer, can't forgive what I can't understand or at least sympathize with. Briggs' plot was selfish, but I understood his motives and why he took it as far as he did. Paige thinks Mike covered up a murder, lied about it, and deemed that worthy of an execution.

  10. I agree with you completely. I get why Briggs did the things he did, even if I didn't agree with his choices. Paige, on the other hand, I have no idea what's going on with her.

  11. It kind of seems like they've forgotten how to write for female characters altogether this season. Charlie was all over the place too, and defined primarily by her relationship with Briggs.

  12. Well if Mike is gone...then so am i....

  13. I actually believe Mike will be back irrespective of what the showrunner said. Also, come on the show is bigger than Mike, even if he is dead don't you want to see the fall out - I mean Paige has to pay!

  14. I love that this show isn't predictable. It's brave and doesn't always follow the typical formula that most dramas follow. I like that the morality on this show isn't black and white - just like in real life there are shades of grey, purple and green - we can't always understand everyone else's motivations because they don't always fit with our own version of how the world should work.
I don't understand Paige's actions but I'm excited to see the fall out from them. This show is brave and I applaud that and I, for one, will be tuning in if there is a season 3!

  15. I think Paige was totally off this season too. She was obsessed with Lina and those girls beyond what we as a viewer could understand. Best case scenario for us to believe in her motivations is that it's possible she thinks Mike murdered Lina to keep the operation going after Paige told him to end it. There is no doubt she blames Mike for Lina's death but that doesn't justify her actions to the audience and I think it'll be interesting to see how the show handles that. It may be that we as the audience get to watch her spiral further next season. It's nice when a show truly goes a different direction with a main character - so many shows just give us good or bad guys or good guys who turn bad only to be redeemed. It seems Graceland is willing to actually turn a good character bad without bringing them back and I think that's awesome and brave!!

  16. I agree. I'd still watch if MIke were gone...especially with that kind of cliffhanger!. I'm more annoyed about how the show's producer views the actions of the various characters. Basically he says that Mike did such a terrible thing that Paige was justified in her actions. I'm really hoping that his comments were made to provoke a response from viewers...but if he thinks that Paige did the right thing, then she probably will not pay for what she did next season.

  17. i understand evry1s frustration wit paige. me too. but i really liked her before lina. so i still want her to be redeemed in some way. its a longshot but i hope it can be done. i hope mike lives.
i'm really glad that charlie and briggs ended on a good note tho ^_^

  18. The episode was brilliant...till the whole Paige rubbish!! I mean what the hell it was so out of character!!! I get Briggs almost killing him. He would have gone to jail/lost his kid. There's motive. Jeff Eastin said in reference to this whole thing: For her, the scales have to be balanced. To balance that scale, Mike needs to die. Obviously her dealing with that decision will figure very heavily into the next season.

How does this balance anything??? Mike did a wrong thing for sure, but Paige literally having him executed? That is sociopathic!:

    ReplyDelete
  19. I agree 100 % Absolutely off the rails!

    ReplyDelete
  20. But she already said she didn't believe he killed her. Jakes asked if she thought he killed her and she said no, but that he might have covered up what happened. I wish she HAD thought he killed her, because then I could just give her the stink eye. I think Paige's transformation has too little justification to be called brave just yet. Definitely not as well-developed as Briggs' story. Not saying they won't develop it more next season, but the pacing makes it look more like character assassination than character development.

    ReplyDelete
  21. That's right. Paige did say that she didn't think Mike killed Lina, but thought that he did cover up her death. Kind of like how Paige left the other girl that was being used as a drug mule dead in a bathroom stall when the balloon ruptured in her stomach. Paige didn't try to find out this girl's identity or try to contact her family at any point and time. Instead, Paige swallowed the drugs so she could go undercover in the house where the other girls were being held. There is no redemption for Paige. She is a traitor and murderer. There is no redemption for Briggs either. There would be redemption for him considering the circumstances in which Briggs felt he needed to defend himself because he thought Badillo was Jangles. However, that opportunity is now gone because Briggs set up Mike to be killed when he though Mike had the tape. There is no excuse or justification for the actions of either Paige or Briggs.

  22. I thought it along with the last couple episodes were a mess!

By splitting each Graceland resident off on their own sub-plot it became messy to me. Too many threads not getting enough time and too many things all going down at once with just enough time for each character to get some place in either just the nick of time or just a second too late. The timing felt forced and it all felt convoluted to me.

I like that it set up the next season, even if I did not like how they accomplished it on a personal level. To me Briggs and Mike are the heart of the show. The other roles are good as supporting cast, but the show seemed to lose focus as each spun off in their own direction.

Worse of it all was Paige doing what she did. Even if she was emotionally over-attached to that girl, to do what she did crossed every line.

Overall this season was a letdown to me and the finally was no different. The entire show dynamic changed with all the Graceland residents at odds with each other. I'm not sure I will be tuning in next season.

  23. No way USA will cancel it. in another interview Jeff said that they would open with Paige and DJ and in the house and DJ would be looking for his black tie. He didn't say whether it was a funeral or could be something else.

Also Sid vowed to seek revenge on the house and kill every single one of them. Speaking of the house i believe it costed them 2 million to built the set lol.

    ReplyDelete
  24. The black tie will be misdirection to make people rink it's a funeral, but it will be for Briggs and Charlie's wedding I bet.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I never thought bout that lol. Good point.

  26. If not the wedding the baby's christening.. something other than a funeral.

  27. I am way too late for this but I am among the few who really enjoyed S2. One main story line, different smaller arcs for all agents - converging together in the final episodes was a great way to follow the story - like a novel.

S3 (hoping that it's renewed) could be the sequel to S2 with FOUR major threads from S2 left to resolve 1) Mike's condition and Paige's (disturbing) betrayal and it's aftermath; 2) Sid's promise of visiting revenge on each and every Graceland resident; 3) Carlito, Lucia, Johnny and the air drops; and 4) Briggs' (and Charlie's) hunt for that POS British money cleaner.

    @klutzy_girl @DarqueMode @Gohier123 @Coastal5 @Shay and everyone else - what do you guys think?

    ReplyDelete
  28. I can see why some people would like the dynamic in Season 2 but I am not one of them.

For me Season 2 was a big back slide in quality all around. At times I enjoyed individual elements, but the finale itself did too many things at too fast a pace and everything fit together far too conveniently for my liking.

I ado agree that they set up a number of plots for Season 3 though. Depending on when Season 3 picks up, they can go a lot of directions. For me personally though, every direction seems like it would be centered on more of an individual story for each character instead of more group arcs. That could just be more of the same things I disliked about Season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Very interesting point that Paige could have ended it sooner, too. One could argue that Lina's death was a result of the choice Paige made in that bathroom...as well as Jakes' personal issues.

I'd also like to clarify that while I understand the motivations behind Briggs' actions, I don't consider true redemption a possibility for him for multiple reasons. That's not a bad thing as I appreciate the fact that, as a character, he's not necessarily a good guy even if he does good things/helps people.

I'll also add that when Paul Briggs is the glue that keeps Graceland together, you've got to wonder at the foundation it's based on.

  30. Over the course of season two, Graceland has managed to turn everyone into horrible horrible people except for Johnny and Charlie and those two are screw-ups as well but at least they're still somewhat likeable unlike the rest of Graceland's characters.

I'll tune in for the beginning of S3 but only on a trial basis. If they don't turn this ship around I'm out.

  31. I agree about Paige. She was the textbook definition of "emotionally compromised." Because of this, Mike felt it necessary to go to the extreme of cremating the body of that murdered girl just to keep his operation going which surely would have been derailed by Paige. For his efforts, Paige essentially put a hit out on Mike.

I get that USA wants to shake off their "blue skies" reputation a little but, with characters like Jakes, Paige, Mike, and Briggs, it has become a little too hard to tell the good guys from the bad guys on this show.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Although I enjoyed this season, I do agree with you about almost everyone turning into horrible, horrible people. Moral compass of these agents has gone down the drain. Quite a huge job ahead for the writers (if there's a S3).

    ReplyDelete
  33. Overall, I enjoyed the season as a whole, for the most part. Story-wise it was interesting. The character development on the other hand...left a lot to be desired. As for setting up for next season...it's weird. Either they are going to not skip to next summer like they did last time, or all of these threads are going to be extremely stagnant and lose steam by the time the season picks up. As such, I'm withholding judgment.
