  1. Poor Edith unhappy enough to be driven to suicide and Mary couldn't be more of a cat with her remark that she chose to set fire to her room. Well done big sis /s and Thomas couldn't be more of a bore with his repetitive storyline and not being helped by his jerk of an attitude. One reason why I never liked him is because he's predictable and his sob story of a lonely homosexual doesn't tug on me at all.

Robert's priories are the dog Isis and not being much of a lord anymore.. Can't even want to spend time with his grandchildren. Donk lol sybbie's precious as is George tho.

  2. Really enjoyed it!!! Last years premiere was under the gloom of Matthew dying but this year I feel like it moved on from that really well without pretending like Matthew storylines ever existed as some shows seem to! I was giggling and cringing whole way through, which is what unloved best about the show. plus as ever Maggie Smith was on fire, legend!

  3. Hm, I don't think she attempted suicide? It was pretty clear from the footage that it was an accident. Besides, she is unhappy, but she has hope of coming up with a solution for her daughter's situation. People with hope are very very unlikely to commit suicide.

  4. Does anyone actually like Gillingham?
Also sooo sick of Robert playing the victim because he's not automatically being treated like the King of the county. I don't like the fact that the writing is sympathetic towards Robert, rather than pointing out how selfish and ridiculous he's being.

  5. I really hope they keep James around. I'm really starting to like him, especially his dynamics with Thomas. It'll be sad to see him go.

  6. Booooo. :(

Watching the episode I was really thinking they would try a redemption storyline with Thomas this season. His plan to blackmail the new maid was obviously going to backfire badly (forcing him to rethinks his ways) and he was starting to really open up in a friendly way with James (I had a doubt he was just encouraging him to have something to blackmail him with, but he seemed genuine). And then he saved Edith from the fire.

Now I'm not so sure, they might just be shooting on him to make him go even badder.

  7. I think he will have some up and downs this season for sure. He's horrible when he wants to be and good when he wants to be good so we'll have to see.
