“How Far Down Can I Go” – After Will’s debut album bumps Rayna’s to second place, she’s more determined than ever to make Highway 65 and her record a hit. In turn, she decides to pursue some new and unexpected opportunities for publicity, including a visit to “Good Morning America” where her friend Luke Bryan surprises her on stage. Layla becomes especially disgruntled about her fleeting career and pressures her husband Will, Edgehill Records’ new #1 artist, to help her rebuild it. Meanwhile, Juliette deals with some life-changing news and prepares for a big audition, where she runs into some familiar competition. Then later, Maddie continues to act out while Deacon deals with the brunt of her adolescence, and Zoey becomes paranoid about Gunnar’s past with Scarlett. Her suspicions are only heightened when she finds them collaborating again on a new song, on “Nashville,” WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 1 (10:00-11:00 p.m., ET) on the ABC Television Network.

ReplyDeleteCertainly sounds to me like Layla is going to essentially blackmail him. "You want a beard, you make my singing career happen" or something similar. Ugh. Nobody cares about Layla!
ReplyDeleteBut from the premiere description, it looks like her services as a beard are no longer required because the video of Will coming out has been seen. I'm not sure how many people would buy the "SHE'S MY WIFE AND I REALLY LOVE HER. REALLY" story after seeing that.
ReplyDeleteWent and read it again and all it says is that they manage the fallout. So maybe they convince people it was fake? Or convince the show not to air it? Ugh, I really hate the direction this story is going.
ReplyDeleteAlso sounds like they turning Zoey into a jealous shrew to clear the decks for a Gunnar/Scarlett reunion.

ReplyDeleteI'm no Zoey fan, but ugh, my hate for Scarlett leads the way.
ReplyDeleteScarlett was better in season 1, I don't know what the hell happened in season 2. But at least she is related to people on the show (Deacon) plus her messed up Mama was actually somewhat interesting (But it kind of hit home for me too so who knows)
ReplyDeleteBut Zoey? What has she contributed? She waits tables and sings occasionally but none of her songs were particularly good or memorable. (Unlike Black Roses which I was addicted to, even if Scarlett's gone crazy weird.)
So you can say that at least Scarlett's character has brought some good songs, from season 1 and 2. Zoey's character was just a waste all season
The plot summary reads like something we have already seen in past seasons. I hope they haven't run out of ideas.
ReplyDeleteIt's like this show is going out of its way to annoy me, bringing back all the lame new characters from last year I hated (Layla, Luke, Jeff, Zoey) and not the one I actually liked (Brent! Breeeent!).
ReplyDeleteBrent was okay, but he wasn't special. Luke, Layla and Zoey I 100% agree with.
ReplyDeleteBut Jeff is a decent villain, if they find a way to humanize him more he could be an even better villain.
I really liked Derek Krantz, but more than anything, it irritates to me to no end that Brent just disappeared. Given his history and then becoming Layla's manager, would he really have had nothing to say about them getting marrried? Or doing a reality show? Or what's going on with them now with Layla knowing Will's gay?
