In a competitive situation, NBC has landed Game Of Silence — a drama project from CSI maven Carol Mendelsohn, Parenthood executive producer David Hudgins and Sony TV — with a pilot production commitment.
The deal, which I hear has series penalty attached to it, marks the first major sale for Mendelsohn and Hudgins, both in the first year of their overall deals at Sony TV.
Based on the Turkish series of the same name (original Turkish title Suskunlar), Game Of Silence centers on a rising attorney on the brink of spectacular success who could lose his perfect life when his long-lost childhood friends threaten to expose a dark secret from their violent past.
Hudgins will write the script and executive produce with Carol Mendelsonhn Prods’ Mendelsohn and Julie Weitz. Timur Savci, of TIMS Prods, which was behind the original series, also will executive produce along with Intrigue’s Tariq Jalil.
