  1. Well someone forgot about the body head ratio...

    ReplyDelete
  2. And there I was hoping for Thea, Merlyn and Quentin to be on it
Guess the shippers won this one

    ReplyDelete
  3. That's even more bland and generic than the poster released for season 02. I always hate how photoshopped those look, i mean, they have a really good looking cast and they deliver a poster that looks like the Kardashians Christimas card. Meh.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Yea me too- where is Thea and why is Laurel there . i mean i know they try to put her everywhere especially this season - but to ditch his sister and put Laurel there :( .And they all look like a kid played with Photoshop!! - i really love the show but this is..... not cool.

    ReplyDelete
  5. All the hype for nothing. It's even worse than season 2. CW usually has good posters.

    ReplyDelete
  6. if you question Laurels presence (second credited cast member) I'm not sure why you don't question Felicity being next to Oliver

    ReplyDelete
  7. Laurel is a regular character and Sara is a guest, it makes a lot a sense for her not to be in the poster.

    ReplyDelete
  8. As far as I know they didn't have a promotional photoshoot for season 3 yet and only were able to use pics from last season. Guess they didn't have a Merlyn one.

    ReplyDelete
  9. i think makksima means Thea not Sara.

    ReplyDelete
  10. Oh yeah! HIS SISTER. I just saw that. Thank you!

    ReplyDelete
  11. and yet here is Roy in his NEW Arsenal wardrobe

    ReplyDelete
  12. ZZZZzzz go away.

Laurel IS the female lead character. Laurel IS the ultimate Black Canary. Sara is not a 'real comic book' character. She was used to introduce the Black Canary arc in the show.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Yes because putting one of the main members of Team Arrow on a poster is bowing down to shippers.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Yep, i see that. I'm just repeating what the person responsible for the poster tweeted last week. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    ReplyDelete
  15. You know...I would argue that a poster should represent the castlist but hey...guess it's about Team Arrow

    ReplyDelete
  16. It is not the best one. Diggle should be next to Oliver, not Laurel. And I am not sure that the photos are new, except for Roy.

    ReplyDelete
  17. They are kind of the main protagonists of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  18. they went for the usual boy-girl-boy positioning.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I like the set up, the males look good. Felicity looks awful, don't know how that happened with such a beazuty , Laurel's leg to photoshopped.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Yeah Suzanne Gomez said all the photos are from season 2, but then there's ROy in his costume so that's confusing lol.

    ReplyDelete
  21. ok after some reflection. I don't hate it that much. It looks cool and the background is better than season 2's. The photo-shop just isn't that good. I wish Malcolm and Thea were on it but I guess they couldn't get a good picture of Malcolm.

    ReplyDelete
  22. what about her face, they just put S1 image on her body.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well, obviously they went for the fandom fight poster. See, Laurel is right where she belongs, she's the lead female of the show, Felicity in the other hand is not, she's credit after David Ramsey, Willa and Paul Blackthorne ;)

But since CW LOOOOOOVES a good fandom fight, they've do this so people can fight for 3 weeks about some random poster just like they did last year with season 2.

    ReplyDelete
  24. But it's a nice shoot. She looks sassy ;-) the best headshot out of those 5. they did the same on a Reign poster a couple of weeks ago. The shopped one of Mary's faceon a different body, sloppy work. But this face looks decent.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I love it.

And oh my god, Sara isn't there because Caity Lotz is just a guest star.

    ReplyDelete
  26. But Laurel/KC doesnt look like that anymore. I mean she is blonder now. And on the poster she is back to brunette.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm not going to argue with you since we seem to ALWAYS be on different pages but what I learnt from designing posters for various theatre productions and some indie flicks is that a poster is ment to show off the main players according to the castlist.
Look...I get that people love Roy and Felicity but they're not credited before Diggle, Laurel and Thea and do not have not the same episode count as Lance does.

I see that you're a Felicity fan, I respect that but in my mind this poster is far from representative of the product and is more of something ment for fans to fight over Laurel-Felicity standing next to Oliver.

I've had the same discussion last year when Laurel was shoved to the back and Olicity-fans and Laurel haters were making fronflips out of happiness.

Lance has not been on a single poster yet.

I disagree with this poster a lot, simply because it doesen't represent the shows cast in a fair way. Sorry Felicity/Olicity/Roy fans. But it should be Oliver, Laurel, Diggle, Thea, Lance, Felicity, Roy, Merlyn on that poster.

No matter of your fan bias (I would love to see Merlyn in front but he has no place there) this poster is clearly to ignite more fan/shipper wars. Not to properly represent this show

    ReplyDelete
  28. Why Roy looks like someone squeezed him he is not that thin ...

    ReplyDelete
  29. that's the usual procedure, rarely you get the fitting bodies and faces ^^

Although I have to disagree with Felicity looking awful, usually her weird nose is throwing me off on that one she looks more than pretty

    ReplyDelete
  30. I really don't want an HQ version of this...

    ReplyDelete
  31. they got a shot of the Arsenal costume, they could have easily put Barrowman in front of a grey screen, it's not that hard. Especially if it's photoshopped THAT heavily

    ReplyDelete
  32. can direct me to this guys twitter account? Would love to see his other work :)

    ReplyDelete
  33. he looks like someone put his face on a kids body lol, even Oliver looks thinner when he is all buff.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Her upper body looks fine so I won't be bothered by her hair color. ;-)

    ReplyDelete
  35. See that's a fair point it should include all cast members, but I really doubt it was designed to start a shipping war. I'm going to make this clear, I like every Arrow character (well Laurel's okay like KC though and looking forward to her becoming Black Canary) I just recognize that Felicity and Roy are a little more involved in the overarching plot than say Lance or Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  36. LOL yeah Oliver and Roy are not that thin. The photo-shop is horrendous.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Sadly your right about the bodies and faces.

I don't like how they put Fel! She looks uncomfortable and like she is faking it. And my bigger issue, why they remove her glasses for the photo shot. Fel without glasses isn't Fel.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Unfortunately it was, this is the CW, they live for fandom fights

    ReplyDelete
  39. That's speculation at best.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Mmm I don't think so I think they just wanted to put team arrow then Laurel since she's helps team Arrow. Lance should be on it too but he wasn't on it last year so I expected that.

    ReplyDelete
  41. Roy? Maybe, he had his own plot
Felicity? Barely, her personal journey hasn't even started yet. She was a plot device to help the others suceed at something. Was she more involved than Lance? Probably if you consider her typing sh*t into a computer and quirkily replying to Oliver.

Lance had more personal arcs than Felicity (who didn't even have a single one yet). I'm sorry but Felicity has no place as the second shown character. That's up to the people we follow through their storylines.

we don't follow Felicity, we follow Felicity follow Oliver (sadly, I want her to be her own character but she just isn't)

Roy did have his own arc so I can't argue with his presence

    ReplyDelete
  42. Suzanne Gomez, she handles PR for SPN, Arrow and Flash

    ReplyDelete
  43. if that's specilation it's also speculation to assume that it's not to ignite fan wars

    ReplyDelete
  44. Well no you're making the claim, the onus is on you to prove it.

    ReplyDelete
  45. You clearly not familiar with the channel, Gossip Girl, 90210, TVD all ruined by fandom fights. I never thought Arrow would fall into this category until last summer when people over tumblr, facebook and twitter started to go crazy over Olicity/Lauriver

    ReplyDelete
  46. she did a solid job on the Flash campaign but boy did she screw up the Arrow/SPN one then

    ReplyDelete
  47. Again she's the Team Hacker and Roy is the back-up archer/ apprentice to Oliver. A little more involved in say battling Vertigo or Ra's Al Ghul than Lance or Laurel. I'm pretty sure I'm not being biased here.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Oh I am familiar with the CW, but this isn't a Teen drama.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Is it really that hard to put five people in front of a green-screen and take a couple a decent shots? Just look at Roy's arms...

    ReplyDelete
  50. Yes, please tell this to those lunatics over facebook and twitter, please.

    ReplyDelete
  51. erm..
    https://twitter.com/WBHomeEnt/status/511197733563011073

    ReplyDelete
  52. That's what I was thinking. But when it came out on Twitter, the headline was "Team #Arrow is back in action!" I don't consider Laurel in the team yet. That's weird for me. I hope she can show what she has! Action action!

    ReplyDelete
  53. People might talk a lot about Olicity on the internet, but Arrow isn't anything like GG, 90210, or TVD. Arrow spends only a few minutes per episode (if that) on relationships. If you were to ignore what people talked about online (like most casual viewers) you wouldn't even know that relationships are one of the most talked about parts of the show.

    ReplyDelete
  54. That's merely a jab and tease for shippers of Olicity not an war. A war would be if they said whose better for Oliver Felicity or Laurel, or Laurel vs. Felicity who do you prefer.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Not the CW promotion department, Those are fans.

    ReplyDelete
  56. boy...I keep throwing evidence at you and you keep neglecting it. I don't think arguing actually has a point.
Maybe I'm too biased, maybe you're too biased. Maybe both of us are too biased but you keep acting like everything regarding their campaign is perfect...

    ReplyDelete
  57. not sure if you are, I'd say a main character is the person who we follow through their personal story arcs.

We haven't followed Felicity, we have follwed Lance, Thea, Oliver, Roy, Laurel and others.
she might be the team member but has not as far a level of significance the others have...

    ReplyDelete
  58. That's not definite evidence though at all. It's just your perception and subjectivity.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Unfortunately that is not how most of the younger audience sees the show. Arrow is becoming the Olicity show and some people don't accept seeing anything that is not related to that.

The proof is on facebook, one Diggle still and people start sending OLICITY <3 in the comments (??????) unnecessary

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh no, this is oficial.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Shippers on Arrow are the most vocal doesn't make them a majority.

    ReplyDelete
  62. This is WB poster not the CWs. Though to be honest the CW wasnt much different.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Good catch. Why are so bothered about this?

    ReplyDelete
  64. I have yet to see a Originals promo image focusing on #Klayley or #Haylijah

and we can both agree that TO is more of a teen drama than Arrow is SUPPOSED to be.
Look maybe the show is not a teen drama but they're marketing it as a action/teen drama hybrid.

Putting out gallons of shipper teases, a poster having the main ship in the focus despite one part of the ship not being credited in the first 4 castmember places and every spoiler article mentioning that ship getting serious

I really hate arguing about this with you, you seem like a nice guy and all but I'm afraid we look at this issue fundamentally different.

I'm willing to accept that I'm heavily anti-any-ship biased but you keep neglecting anything ship related as 'nothing'. So I'd say...let's agree to disagree on this issue.

To me this is ship pushing at its finest, it's like putting Elena in the middle with Stefan/Damon to her left/right. That's how this poster looks, Oliver in the middle, Felicity on the left and Laurel on the right. Classic ship baiting.
    To me

    To you it's....not that apparently

    ReplyDelete
  65. Yes that's why she's getting her own stuff this year. Also she was a recurring character in season 1 (originally a one-off) and they had no plans for her until mid-season at most, unlike Roy who they planned from the beginning. Do I wish they gave her a storyline last year, yeah of course. Even then she's still more involved in the main plot than Lance or Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  66. Dont know just bugs me. Since over the hiatus everybody was screaming KC is blonde that means she is Canary. And now they put a brunette KC on the poster.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Why does it matter what people talk about online in regards to Arrow? There's no way that Arrow could ever turn into a show only about romantic relationships, there's way too much other stuff going on.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Well no shit, as I pointed out it's subjective. It would be objective if they clearly pitted both shippers against one another, but they haven't at all so your claim is unfounded.

    ReplyDelete
  69. since the CW slogan is 'tv to talk about' I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if they are not the majority, like you said they are the most vocal part and tha's why they keep feeding it.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Of course that's what marketing is supposed to do, appeal to a demographic.

    ReplyDelete
  71. I also expect this until they start promoting season 3 as a romance teen show with some action scenes. Did you see the last promo?

    ReplyDelete
  72. Erm...well now your bias is showing man...

For f***s sake dude, again: a main character is a character WE FOLLOW, we follow that characters emotional journey.

We followed Lance through his addiction, through his antagonistic relationship with the vigilante.
    We followed Laurel....know what...no.
    I'm sick of arguing. Really

Love Felicity, agree with her being 'more important' than Lance and Laurel (who have both had more storylines and were in more episodes than Felicity I might add) but do it on your own.

Felicity is a fun character but by far not more of a main character than Lance and Laurel who had both an emotional journey by far exceeding Felicitys plotlines.

In some way you're actually degrading the writers work by claiming that well written emotional plots are less important than Felicity typing sh*t on a computer and making googly eyes around Oliver.

    Nope...

    ReplyDelete
  73. Damn, this is the definition of over-photoshopping something. Everyone looks like their heads were plastered onto their bodies, with Roy's body especially way too tiny for his head. Only thing I like is the background they're on.

Also, second (or even third?) year in a row where Quentin gets shafted in the cast poster, and this year, Thea and Merlyn too. I don't get it.

    ReplyDelete
  74. Yes, and the demographic will ruin the show just like they did with TVD and Gossip Girl _o_

A lot of the 'not vocal' part of the fandom is already annoyed, check the news, every news about Arrow involves Olicity or Felicity people are complaining on twitter and producers are ignoring and paying attention only to those who want to know about the romance, in a ACTION show.

    ReplyDelete
  75. they put all their money on Flash and reused all photos for SPN & Arrow. The best i can come up with.

    ReplyDelete
  76. I'm still not sure Laurel will become BC, even though a lot of things indicate that like the hair, wildcat appearing, the jacket and the recent "Dinah Laurle Lance" script tease. I really hope she develops a DC identity on her own. Something empowered and even though it's Canary she should be different, I hope that the Huntress re-apppearing plan the creators had, will have a part in it.

    ReplyDelete
  77. I KNOW RIGHT?

Quentin is left out, Merlyn is left out, Thea is left out.
Diggle (third credited castmember) is pushed into the back, Felicity (fidth or sixth credited castmember) takes the front, Roy looks like a drawing made by a 3 year old

    ReplyDelete
  78. Quentin was definitely not in last year's poster either, and I'm not sure if there was a Season 1 cast poster but if it's what the Arrow FB page used as a header, he wasn't there either. Stop shafting Papa Lance! :(

    ReplyDelete
  79. I'm not saying that at all. All I've said is that Felicity as a member of Team Arrow and hacker is more involved in the main story, which is true. That is a fact. Stop reading into things I say that aren't there.

    ReplyDelete
  80. how is that Arsenal shot old?

    ReplyDelete
  81. The poster is disappointing for a lot of reasons:

Diggle has been moved to the back, what happened to the original team arrow?
This makes me fear that Diggle will be put on the backburner yet again

Felicity looks so un-felicity like and her outfit is terrible
The positions are weird, they look too far apart
    Terrible lighting
Laurel doesn't even look like Laurel

I am properly, and thoroughly underwhelmed an possibly even disapppointed.

NOBODY puts Diggle in a corner okay.

    ReplyDelete
  82. wasnt it released even before Comic Con?

    ReplyDelete
  83. S1 was with Oliver, Laurel, Diggle, Moira, Tommy & Thea i think.

    ReplyDelete
  84. but still taken as a photo for season 3, they started shooting a week before SDCC and took that photo then
It's not like you can't put an actor in front of a screen and shoot an image of them...

    ReplyDelete
  85. I can't remember a poster with Moira in it?

    ReplyDelete
  86. I dont know what they doing but all i know they just didn't bother with it.

    ReplyDelete
  87. I think it was fanmade, I don't think there was a cast poster for season 1

    ReplyDelete
  88. Well except the exec producers aren't Plec, they've pretty much said the show will never be about romance. That and one of them wrote for Green Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  89. What do you consider the main storyline?!

What do you consider a significant part?!

I'm starting to think that you consider other storylines like the League of Assassins, Saras arc, Theas parentage NOT to be major arcs.
If that's the case...you are wrong dude.
Just because that arc played out in the finale that doesen't make other storylines LESS significant.

And why do I keep arguing with you over this?!

"Hey writers, every arc not involving Felicity isn't major"

    ReplyDelete
  90. This is really bad-poor work CW!Guess all budget for promotions went to the flash this year IMO.

    ReplyDelete
  91. Thank you. Laurel isn't even one of my favorite characters but all the hate towards her is starting to get even more annoying and ridiculous than last season. Get over it people they aren't going to kill her off.
Thea is my favorite female character and get why she isn't there. She isn't on Team Arrow or even in Oliver's side so she doesn't belong in that poster.

    ReplyDelete
  92. The main storyline is fighting Slade, or Ra's Al Ghul or Malcolm, or the Ray Palmer one. I consider those ones you're referring to as story lines but they're not the main one of the season. As the main one always focuses on the big bad Team Arrow is fighting.

    ReplyDelete
  93. you disagree this my claim is obsolete. I'm seriously sick of the way completely decrease my opinions worth all the time.

You know you can suggest things even without directly rubbing it in your face.
Triangle posters never say "Delena vs. Stelena" yet they suggest it

    ReplyDelete
  94. If you're referring to that FB header I mentioned, all of those were there except Moira.

    ReplyDelete
  95. Then find objective proof and I won't.

    ReplyDelete
  96. And I disagree with your final statement: Thea is part of the show, she has been more significant than others that are actually ON this poster.

In order to represent this show properly they should show the entire cast in a fair way. But they didn't.

Forcing a triangleship fight is all they're doing here

Oliver, Laurel, Diggle, Thea, Lance, Felcity, Roy, Merlyn should all be on this poster as they're all main characters and are part of the show.
In order to properly represent the show they should be partof that

    ReplyDelete
  97. Exactly. We're starting Season 3 and have never had Moira, Quentin or Merlyn on a poster - that's troubling. Dear CW, just because someone is over 35 (or - gasp - 40!) doesn't mean you need to ignore their existence... it's a good thing they still acknowledge Digg, kind of.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Ok cool! Still Now Quentin or Moira :P CW always neglects the older cast members

    ReplyDelete
  99. Roy looks like stick figure someone drew, he's the weirdest of them all and that's saying something. I hate Felicity's outfit, too, but that's a minor detail.

    ReplyDelete
  100. I gave you the objective proof that the marketing is focusing on the shipping aspect and you disagreed. You my friend are not bling, you're ignorant of other people giving you an opinion you disagree with.

It's like arguing with a toddler.

"Here little Graydon, here is a promotional e-card clearly focusing on a ship"
"NOOOOO THEY'RE NOT FOCUSING ON THAT SHIP, YOU'RE BIASED WAAAAHHH"

    ReplyDelete
  101. I guess. Too bad. Other than TVD and whichever shows are premiering in that season, The CW always slacks off on promotion.

    ReplyDelete
  102. First, that's not even close to what I said. Second I agreed it was an Olicity push, but again no evidence of intent being to start a shipping war.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Good, then tell me how Thea had less part to play in Slades storyline?

    - Wasn't she the one that was kidnapped by Slade and had the truth about her father be told?

    - Wasn't Officer Lance involved in the final fight against Slades army and had an issue with bringing the LoA into this?

These two had a bigger emotional arc and even involvement than Felicity in this finale arc so....there goes your point
I'd actually argue that even Merlyn (who wasn`t in most of the season) had a bigger storyline in that final Slade plot than Felicity did

    ReplyDelete
  104. well it's not exactly what you said but it's kind of putting my perception of you neglecting the ship focus.

Good, then let's forget the ship war aspect and focus on Felicitys place on that poster. Why is she second? Isn`t Diggle more of a main character as he's been there since episode 1? Same as Laurel? What is Felicity doing there with her lighter episode count? Where are characters that has SIGNIFICANT character arcs?

    ReplyDelete
  105. As I said that was tied to it and affected by it, but it did not directly affect the battle against Slade nor did it involve her in the fight against him. For the last time I've never once said that others didn't have bigger or more emotional stories just that they were not involved in the main plot of taking down the villain as much as Felicity, Diggle or Oliver (and Roy in season 2). You could argue Lance though with the Markov device.

    ReplyDelete
  106. Considering Felicity had more lines in season 2 than Diggle and is an integral part of team arrow, I understand why she was put second.

    ReplyDelete
  107. Too be honest I don't care. I think they'll all equal more or less in the main storyline anyway (except for Laurel but that probably will change, and Oliver but that's a given).

    ReplyDelete
  108. I think this poster is supposed to represent the people on Oliver's side and the people who know his secret. I'd love a poster with the whole cast and I'd love to see Thea and Merlyn but they are being very secretive about them.

    ReplyDelete
  109. Nothing like an Arrow poster to make STV explode. Overall not a fan of it. Especially when you compare it to the one VD released yesterday. I don't know why they didn't had a promo shot for their most watched show. Big mistake CW big mistake CW!

    ReplyDelete
  110. Damn, I thought the SPN poster was bad....good lord this is horribly photo shopped, they recycled Laurel and Diggle's S1 photos. Cheap, cheap, cheap.

    ReplyDelete
  111. The S1 poster was Thea/Tommy/Oliver/Diggle/Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  112. hahahahahaahahha. OMG!!! A huge part of this fandom is f**ked up in a really, really bad way. Just reading through the comments here and some other places and also a sample of tweets on TLs of my twitter friends are a stark reminder (to me) that these 'fans' 'want' to dictate terms now. WTF is happening? Why are fans so insistent that the story/posters/trailers/sneak peeks be what they want? It's one thing to disagree but this f**cking sense of entitlement is getting out of hand.

    SMH

BTW, is it just me who finds that Roy looks utterly ridiculous. I burst out laughing when I saw him on the poster.

    ReplyDelete
  113. It's horrible on so many levels, where are the other actors? And Diggle is in the back with Roy?!!! And Roy's photo looks like a drawing not a real person, and I feel like I've seen this photo of EBR before and she doesn't look like Felicity, and KC doesn't look at all like KC too much Photoshop, and where is the creativity in it? Since this season is about identity shouldn't that be featured in the poster somehow? like maybe they're walking in a puddle or something that reflects a different photo of them? Or maybe a Hong Kong background? ANYTHING RELATED TO THE STORY instead of looking like they're posing for a clothing store.

    ReplyDelete
  114. No, I'm sorry. If you consider a bystander with no emotional connection to the plot or any emotional journey more important than characters that had their own arcs this discussion is obsolete to me

Felicity seems to have a storyine this season, this is great and I`m looking forward to that but considering her more of a main than Lance, Diggle, Roy, Thea, Merlyn or Laurel irks me the wrong way.

    http://stream1.gifsoup.com/view/257866/keyboard-smash-o.gif

    ReplyDelete
  115. Can't wait for Daniel Gillies, Ian Somerhalder and Matt Davis to turn 40 now -,-

    ReplyDelete
  116. Last season they didn't have Lance or Moira in the poster, this season it's Lance, Merlyn and Thea, other than Thea, it's basically CW ageism. And I feel like they tried to just have 'Team Arrow' on the poster, which meant that Thea got short changed. I've never liked their posters much anyway, last season's poster made Slade look like a boxer, LOL.

    ReplyDelete
  117. People are freaking out for no reason, this hiatus is making everyone flip!
The poster is bad, yes it is, but seriously, is just a fugly poster. They're reading too much into it.

    ReplyDelete
  118. A poster without Malcolm, Thea and Quentin? So much photoshop. Girls look really different. Is that season 1 photo of Digg and Laurel? Roy looks so thin with big head. And he should stand near Oliver. Roy Harper always stands near Oliver Queen. What should Paul Blackthorne do to get into a promotional photo of this show?

This is disappointing. CW should outsource this poster making to fans. They can make much better posters.

    ReplyDelete
  119. The High Speed Chase one? I thought that promo was really well balanced. It had a lot of action and I'm pretty sure every single character was in it (Oliver/Diggle/Felicity/Roy/Thea/Malcolm/Laurel/Quentin/Sara).

    ReplyDelete
  120. Not a fan. Too much photoshop, Roy's pose looks weird, and why are they all walking away from the burning city?

  121. If I could up vote you a 100 times I would. CW does such juvenile job for promoting their shows and then wonder why people don't respect the channel or its content. Arrow has more adult audience than any other of their shows. If only they would treat it like an adult show. Ever seen Grey's Anatomy promotional posters CW? That's how you represent an ensemble cast.

    ReplyDelete
  122. And they wonder why people don't take their channel seriously.

    ReplyDelete
  123. remember that fanmade poster I put out and felt incredibly terrible for forgetting about Lance?
I hope that whoever designed this poster feels worse now :P

Never paid much attention to Greys after season 3 but I remember this brilliant black/white poster with the cast stinding side by side, that was great

  124. Thea? Malcolm?

    ReplyDelete
  125. The CW really knows how to make people talking with their Arrow promo this hiatus xD.

    ReplyDelete
  126. I think It'll translate to higher ratings this season. Deserves it!

    ReplyDelete
  127. It's bad... Really bad... Aside of the bad photoshop and weird poses, there's no Thea, Quentin or Malcolm.

Maybe they wanted to release a Team Arrow poster(u know, Oliver, Diggle, Felicity, Roy and Laurel, the future Black Canary) and then they will release one with Thea and Malcolm or one with everyone.

Still, i don`t like it at all... Why can't they put all the actors on one place and took one damn photo? They did it with VD...

    This is crap...

  128. Grey's Anatomy's cast grows each season. People come and go. But they know to produce a poster which gives equal importance to every credited star. And they also show how to give each of their characters growth and dedicated story lines through out the season.

Another example is latest AoS poster. It reflects the mood and upcoming story of second season. For something like that to happen someone has to use their brains.

  129. Hey!! On behalf of Arrow fandom I shall use the term passionate instead of f**ked up. LOL. It's not completely the fault of fans. The EPs, WB, CW and DC provide material and promotes things in a way which induces maximum fandom bickering. This site is usually a calm area compared to lot of other Arrow forums on the internet.

Felicity is not representing anything, Diggle is not representing anything, Laurel is not representing anything. The only thing that is representing something are Oliver and Roy by their costumes. I really don't like Laurel, I think she can not do anything interesting, I never liked her from the first episode of the first season and I don't like her on any poster. (But that's my own opinion, I respect the rest) But this poster is not cool, it does not represent anything important. No fight, no war, no evil, nor even love. This only represents the people closest to Oliver. And I do not like that Diggle is so far from Oliver. Neither I like Felicity on one side of Oliver and Laurel in the other like a cat fight for him. Since we all know that the female lead of this show is Felicity Smoak, even when she's not a heroine. Like it or not. But this is my own opinion :)

  131. I feel like the concept and color composition works, but GOD DAMN what is wrong with that photoshop??

    ReplyDelete
  132. Felicity looks pathetic in this line-up. I realise that she doesn't kick-ass but she is a vital part of the team. They could have posed her better. She just looks like the annoying ordinary friend who has tagged along wearing a jumper and skirt and flat shoes. Are they mary janes?

I loved the way she dressed in season 1. Yes it was 'quirky', she even wore a pearly king and queens cardigan once (I don't think Americans know what Pearly King and Queens are http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pearly_Kings_and_Queens) but since she has taken the persona of 'Executive PA' I have noticed that her dresses have become corporate-sl*t. I hope that this romance with Oliver doesn't reduce Felicity's importance in the show in season 3.

  133. WOW 145 comments in like what 2 or 3 hours? As much as I hate the poster but I have to admit they know what they're doing EVERYONE is talking about the poster all over the internet lol

    ReplyDelete
  134. I would've liked to see Thea on the poster. Or Sara for that matter, but I knew it wouldn't happen for both. Sigh..

    ReplyDelete
  135. I agree. I was just trying to keep the fandom spirit up. Every silly post and news are used to one up each other. Each camp needs to at least write one sentence to put down the opposite party while giving an opinion. It's hopeless.

    ReplyDelete
  136. I kinda like this one. It's very reminescent of that epic team shot in the tunnel from last season finale. The wedge shape of the characters (kinda like the an arrowhead, much like the V in Oliver's old club) and the stretch of road. And the male to female symetry looks good with M-F-M-F-M (that's all it is people, symetry. Not character importance order)

    ReplyDelete
  137. They're promoting them as the Team Arrow, man. That's why Thea and Malcolm aren't there. I'm just glad Roy and Laurel are on it.

    ReplyDelete
  138. Yes, that is the official S1 poster.

    ReplyDelete
  139. i love it! i love laurel

    ReplyDelete
  140. Next season I want poster just with Black Canary (Laurel), Arsenal (Roy) and, obviously, Arrow. #HeroesTeam

    ReplyDelete
  141. With the exception of the fact I think Quentin should be on it too... this makes sense.
Those groaning about Thea, Malcolm and others. It is pretty clear the image is to promote the "Team Arrow" group.
MAYBE we'll get a "cast" pic, with all the regulars later on.

    ReplyDelete
  142. I have heard that the actor who plays Diggle plays the Mayor of New York on Blue Bloods, which is great for actor but sucks for the character.

    ReplyDelete
  143. Correct, David Ramsay juggles two jobs. That's why his screentime on Arrow is often limited.

    ReplyDelete
  144. It would've been nice to have Thea on it, I hope there's a full cast one soon.

    ReplyDelete
  145. Thea has joined the dark side for now. This is a hero poster.

    ReplyDelete
  146. SHIELDNCISArrowfan17 September 2014 at 23:31

all the $$ probably went to the promotion of The Flash

    ReplyDelete
  147. I don't watch that show..is David supposed to be playing the Mayor this season? B/c umm, he can't leave Arrow. I would assume his time on BB would be short.

    ReplyDelete
  148. People are seeing too much... Tumblr is a HELL. They're talking about Laurel being more important than Diggle or that we're back on an annoying love triangle.

It's just a stupid poster. A male-female-male-female-male Heroe Team! It's that simple! There's no hidden secret there... it's just a aweful, photoshopped, poster.

    ReplyDelete
  149. Guys whether you wanted or not Laurel is going to be increasingly important so you might wanna stop denying it and starting accepting it.

    ReplyDelete
  150. Would you like Speedy (Thea) added to that season 4 wish?

    ReplyDelete
  151. Disappointing poster..i was expecting a lot better..this one is just weird, idk

    ReplyDelete
  152. Did they blow their wad on all the Flash promotion and we got stuck with this. It's bad. Oliver and Roy both look weird. Is Roy wearing a corset because his waist looks tiny (jealous! lol). Old photos of Felicity,Laurel and Diggle. Bad photoshopping. Underwhelmed is an understatement.

    ReplyDelete
  153. Ollie is jealous over Roy's costume.

    ReplyDelete
  154. Because it's clearly a poster showing "Team Arrow".

Why wouldn't Laurel be there and why would Thea be there?

    ReplyDelete
  155. I just visited the FB page and if the situation there is an indication of the current situation in the "Arrow" fandom, I would say that the shipper wars are escalating. If you look at the comments lots of posters are really angry and upset, not because of Felicity and Laurel (who are both placed beside Ollie), but because Laurel has allegedly usurped Diggle's place, even though he is a member of the original team Arrow, and she is just an allegedly peripheral and useless character (I'm relaying their opinions here). Some people even question her right to be on the poster at all!

If you don't believe me, I suggest you take a look yourself, and you'll see that debates are raging as some more balanced and mature posters try to point out that Laurel is a main character and a future member of the team and thus has a right to a central place on a promo poster, while the anti-fans are as usual claiming that everyone hates Laurel, that she is a useless character, that Lauriver must never happen etc.etc.

Now, I know that many of the most angry posters are oliciters, because they always post on the FB page and I recognize their names and anti-arguments. So, I'm kind of wondering if the anger over Diggle's position might be just another shipper thing, in the sense that some of them don't want Laurel on the team or anywhere near Oliver, and therefore can't stand to see her beside Oliver. Otherwise I don't understand their wrath over Diggle's position on a poster, or their claims that the real team Arrow are only Diggle/Felicity/Oliver (there are even fanmade posters with the threesome posted in the threads). It's really weird, because I didn't even reflect on Diggle's placement when I saw the poster. Or maybe people are just very concerned about Diggle? I guess I just don't understand the fuzz, since the poster is no indication whatsoever concerning Diggle's storylines in season three.

I guess what I want to say is that the sentiments and arguments in threads n the official FB page (which is the social media site that the CW people are most likely to monitor) are very different from the calm and measured discussions on this site. Therefore I'm wondering if "mac" doesn't have a point, in the sense that in the FB, twitter and tumblr social media fandoms it's really becoming a question of Laurel/Roy Harper versus Felicity/Olicity/the original team Arrow (F/D/O). It is pretty clear that the anger concerning Diggle's position is turning against Laurel's character and that it is prompted by a conviction that she doesn't belong to the team and that she will never become a credible team member. I'm not saying that this is how things are, but this whole situation reminds me a bit of the shipper wars that raged in the Smallville fandom, where they had similar controversies about the placement of the female characters on the promo posters.

    ReplyDelete
  156. I would love for her to become a new version of Artemis... Idk, i think it would be more interesting if Thea remains an anti-hero, for some reason. It would create some good tension between her and Oliver.

Maybe in Season 5? I would love for Thea's arc on Season 4 to be somehow like Oliver's Season 1 arc.(I picture this Season for her as turning from Villain to Vigilante... Then Season 4 to be from Vigilante to Hero) Then on Season 5, now a "hero", she could join Team Arrow as Speedy.

    ReplyDelete
  157. Besides the fact that people need to stop the overkill on Photoshop, the only thing that really bugs me is that Laurel is in front of Diggle. If they are going to put Felicity on one side of Oliver, Diggle should be on the other for a proper representation of the original Team Arrow.

But, alas, it is just a poster and nothing worth getting worked up over.

    ReplyDelete
  158. He injected one guy and killed another with grenades. Thea hurt Oliver emotionally, which while very important for their relationship and her character didn't actually affect the storyline that much. Malcolm beat the crap out of one guy and took Thea away (again well that's whole as a arc for him and Thea and was affected by the story didn't actually in turn effect the finale story). Whereas Felicity was intricate to curing Slade and the Mirakuru army as well as taking them down, same with Diggle. Again as I've said Felicity has played a massive part in taking down each of the main villains.

    ReplyDelete
  159. Clearly. She may not get the amount of story lines (or really any unfortunately) but in regards to the main villain and plot she's up there with Diggle and Oliver as the most involved in taking them down. Whether you like her being such a high level main or not, she's one of the core trio of Arrow and has massively affected the plot in regards to taking down villains in a way only equaled or beaten by Diggle and Oliver.

    ReplyDelete
  160. Bystander she's been critical to taking down most of the villains on this show (and every big bad). Emotionally invested , you're joking, right? Might as well call her a sociopath and get it over with.

if you look at the far top right you can see two point ears, a nose, ear, and eye........hmm (on the Full poster photo) not sure if it was done on purpose

    Lord Voldemort is coming!.......

    ReplyDelete
  164. I just want to say that I get why they put Laurel on the poster, she's going to become THE Black Canary. However she's not there yet so she shouldn't be standing next to him just yet. If they want to do it next year when she is the Black Canary, then I could understand it better.
There is one other thing that gets me about this poster, and that is the fact that the producers have said that they will in fact be focusing on the dynamic of the core three in relation to each other as well as Roy coming on board and Laurel knowing Oliver's secret. However they did not (that have heard) say that she is in fact part of Team Arrow. So, if that is the case why again is she by Oliver?
And before you all start jumping down my throat; I get the B/G/B/G/B thing and that it's symmetrically appealing to the eye, I just don't agree with it as you can have asymmetrical pictures that are just as appealing to the eye.
I also get that KC gets higher billing then EBR but I just thought it had to do with the fact that KC is a bit more well known then EBR (though I hadn't heard of ether before this show) as well as being cast first. They are both leading ladies in their own right. Laurel because she's going to become BC and Felicity because of her statues in the team ie one of the core 3.
But when everything is said and done Laurel should not be standing next to Oliver as of now (maybe not ever), Diggle should.

    ReplyDelete
  165. Neither was Diggle when the show was created.

    ReplyDelete
  166. It's just me probably but I actually questioned why Diggle is not next to Oliver. I was expecting Felicity Oliver Diggle next to each other.

    ReplyDelete
  167. Yes, and where is Diggle on the show? Pushed back to be Oliver's assistant

    ReplyDelete
  168. Diggle was created for the show, so they can pretty much do what ever with him without to much fan backlash. Laurel was/is the intended BC, they hinted at it when she kick the crap out of those guys in the bar, they just threw a curve into the story with introducing Sara. IMO They should have had the same Sara story line, just imaged her as a new hero then when she takes off, you have Laurel lead into the BC character.

    ReplyDelete
  169. Thats like saying Chloe on Smallville was irrelevant or Castiel and Crowley on SPN are irrelevant. There's a lot more characters out there that either didn't have main story's till well into a series but where key parts on a show.

    ReplyDelete
  170. FFS do want the the extra from epsiode 3 on there aswell.
