James D'Arcy ("Broadchurch," "Let's Be Cops") will play Edwin Jarvis, Howard Stark's butler and an unexpected ally to Peggy Carter, joining the previously announced Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson and Enver Gjokaj as Agent Daniel Sousa as they help Peggy (Hayley Atwell) navigate her way through what may be her most dangerous mission yet!

ReplyDeleteI'm so exited about this show!!! And I love the idea of JARVIS being based on an actual human being! he must've been very important to Tony if he named his AI after him. Now I'm intrigued!
ReplyDeleteFYI for those who don't know in the Comics Jarvis was originally just Tony's butler, he wasn't the AI we know just a regular lovely butler so this is cool that they are going there in the MCU and also just in time for AoU when JARVIS will play an important role.

ReplyDeleteIt's funny that they still won't give official confirmation of Dominic Cooper returning as Howard Stark (although Hayley Atwell let it slip), but they've cast his butler. Okay...

I think she means that Tony knew Edward Jarvis, his father's butler, when he was a kid, but Jarvis has passed away since (figures - he would be over 90 or even 100 now, depending on his age in Agent Carter), and because Tony misses the guy he named his AI after him.
