  1. Thanks for the video lisa. I hope season 10 is better than 9. I'm close to dropping spn

  2. My pleasure! I agree. I actually liked a lot of season 9, but felt it really dropped off towards the end of the season. Honestly, turning Dean into a demon is so antithetical to everything the character is supposed to be, I actually had planned on not watching. However, a lot of what was said at SDCC and the clip they showed actually has me interested in where they are going. This year the long hiatus has actually helped me come to terms with the fact that this isn't the show it used to be, but maybe I can find some enjoyment in this "new" show....

  3. I felt betrayed in season 8 the way they threw Sam under the bus and even the season finale was bad, but enjoyed 9 much more. The way I am treating SPN now is like season 8 just started a new series for me as Carver killed what I loved about the series for 7 years. I don't trust him at all and when I heard he was coming back I was excited, loved most of the eps that he had written, but he is an awful showrunner...IMHO. The story has just jumped all over the place.

  4. Gamble killed it for me. I too had high hopes for Carver, and I agree, he is a terrible show runner. Both S8 and S9 lagged terribly in the last 5 episodes - the pacing was terrible! S9 had more standalones that I liked, but the final straw for me was the last 5 seconds - turning Dean into a demon completely ignores what he's stood for for the entire series. I'm one of the few who felt that Sam might reach out for a "normal" life if he truly thought Dean was gone - but they dropped the ball on that too. Would it have killed them to show one scene in which he explains his frantic search for his brother? And I also don't believe he would have just abandoned Kevin. I guess I'm less tolerant of the beginning of S8 because of how badly he's mangled the show since....

  5. If Carver was smart, he would use the story of Dean becoming a demon as a springboard for Sam to explain why he didn't look for his brother in Purgatory. Sam is going to do some dark things in order to find Dean and try to make him human again. Once Dean is human and realizes what Sam has done to save him, Dean would understand something shocking about his brother. Sam didn't have any idea of how to pull Dean from Purgatory. If Sam pushed himself to find an answer that didn't exist, he ran the risk of turning dark and returning to his own demonic ways. After all, Sam did still have demon blood because he hadn't undergone the trials yet. Instead of telling Dean the truth because he still carried the shame of having demon blood, Sam lied to Dean and told him he never looked for him in Purgatory. Much like Sam lied and told Dean he wouldn't go to extreme measures to have his older brother. It's my opinion Sam said this to Dean was because the life of a hunter had worn Sam down to the point he would welcome death. Remember how Sam was ready to die before Dean had Zeke possess him when Sam was dying after the trials. Moral of the story is that Carver needs to explain why Sam didn't look for Dean when he was in Purgatory because it is something the fans still can't reconcile or accept.

  6. I wouldn't hold your breath. If he's willing to turn Dean into a demon - not just possess him - he has fundamentally misunderstood the show. I've waited for four years for someone to get back to what these characters are fundamentally about, and I frankly don't see it happening. I think if you have to take that long to explain away a character's actions, those actions aren't consistent with the character. Carver has said he's explained it as much as he's ever going to...

  7. Season 9 was better in what way ? that Dean's violation is a more acceptable act than Sam not looking. That once again despite being the victim Sam has still emerged as the brother than must compromise himself to prove 'love' what a brothers relationship to root for.

  8. I did not say it was good, just I found it better than 8. I enjoyed more of the stand-alones, the brothers were working together(most of the time). Like I said I am just thinking of it as a new/different series and not trying to put the characters into the first years. Carver has ruined that and don't look for it to come back.

  9. I wish I could find some enjoyment in this "new Supernatural," but I can't. Carver's entire run - so far - has been awful to me. I hope next season is better but I'm not holding my breath.

  10. For some reason, I found S9 worse than S8. That does not bode well for S10 for me.
As always though, I hope to be wrong. This was once my all-time favorite show. Heck, it's the only series I own (up to S7) and would gladly re-watch (up to S7). Haha! So I'd love to love it again.

  11. I did buy season 8, but waited until I found it under $10. Up until that season I knew all the ep titles and had watched each ep many times. I have not been able to bring myself to even watch 8 again and did not watch any ep of 9 more than the one time. Can't tell you any of the ep names. SPN and the Winchesters were the only show I watched when it was on and I hate what Carver has done to MY family. The brothers were part of my family. SIGH

  12. Agreed! I still don't have S8 and will NOT be getting S9. Like you, I used to know all the titles of the episodes and what the episodes were about, but not anymore. It's a shame but my intense love for the show has definitely died.

  13. Make the season 12-13 episodes. Force Carver to eliminate the extraneous BS, stick to the myth arc and bring in a secondary "The Strain" type second big bad who shows up every 2-3 episodes.

That way nobody has to run to Barnes and Noble to get the latest Dungeon and Dragons Monster Manual.

  14. I found out last week I missed two S9 episodes completely and didn't even notice.

  15. Hahaha :-)

What were the episodes? I know you didn't miss much!
