  1. Never expected to see Will Yun Lee do a Texan accent. I'm actually enjoying this season so far. My theories about Sookie's version of Hep V were absolutely wrong. Nice to see Hoyt back. But honestly, Jason oogling Hoyt's girlfriend rang false to me. I just didn't buy that Jason, after all this time and the weight of the guilt of what he did to Hoyt, would do that. Felt forced.

  2. This episode was a mess. I did like the little doctor coming out of that beastly car. haha That made me smile.
I hope Pam and Eric won't die in the end. I don't care much for rest of the characters, especially Jason. His stupidity should've killed him by now.

  3. Noooo I liked Amber.

  4. Unbelievable, and yet sooo predictable. Only thing that saved this episode for me was seeing Hoyt again. I liked Arlene and Sam's scene. Loved ALL of Arlene's scenes. And her's with Keith at the end. (he's ridiculously sexy). Also loved Andy and Holly. Everything else was shit. Oh and Steve Newlin, making an appearance. I'd rather have him around than Sarah.

  5. I laugh every time Andy says "Vampire Bill".

  6. Not to me for two reasons

    1. Obvious reminder of what he did to Hoyt and what he just did to himself again -cheated with someone else's girlfriend or on his girlfriend--ie: Jessica, Jessica, Violet...

    2. She reminds me of a sophisticated non druggy Krystal! In a previous episode Jason had told Sookie that he had never really been in love-love, except maybe for with Jessica and that love shouldn't scare you....but when you look back on Jason's love life, I think you could see that Jason did care deeply for Amy and for Krystal, until Krystal abused him....

So, because this is the end of the series, we are seeing situations familiar to what the characters have been in before. In Jason's case, especially despite this thing he just did with Jessica, he has come a long long way. He's really the only character that has evolved in a good way this whole season. It's why I think we also see him be out of character and more philosophical in his and Eric's dream sequence, why he plays devil's advocate in Numi's hallucinations, and why we see him really be there for Sookie and give her encouraging advice...He's become a more thoughtful, helpful, and moral person...

  7. i haven't been posting to much, been really busy, but I have been enjoying the past couple episodes. I really like the Sarah Numi (New Me) bit. Definitely a fun twist that she is cure, brut I also liked how they allowed her to have a bit of a breakdown...I just hope her seeing Jason among the other two dead characters doesn't mean anything. Jason has evolved for the most part really nicely, it would be a shame to kill him after all of this!

Also in minority, I'm sure, but I'm enjoying the Tara story line! Very curious that we went back to to child hood (like when she confronted and had to kill her childhood self--I never knew if I really bought Maryanne's claims to that experience) Tara and wonder what is burred there? Her dad?? Whatever it is, it must be the thing that's holding her back...So is Tara stuck in a memory, or did child Tara see "the future" as a child?

Also enjoying Arlene's and Keith's story line.

Too bad Violet had to turn around an be a total Beast, but Jason and Jessica should have known better (and her is where progress had not been made), even though one could easily blame Lafayette and James too!

Nice to see Hoyt and his new gf (who reminds me of a sophisticated Krystal)

Like Andy and Holly's story line...

Is it just me, or does feel like Bill is actually going to die with all of these flashbacks of his wife and the idea perhaps is that dying is like 'going home'???

Eric, Eric, Eric! Oh I wish you would learn!

    Mr. Gus is fun character!

Obviously worry for Adeline and Jessica, but I'm also worried for Jason...I think we've gone to long without a major character death...

And nice to see the generally unhelpful Niall, but I'm excited because I think another game changer is on the horizon!

Can't believe there's only 3 eps left! Gosh I wish they would spin it off and add some of them onto the Midnight, Texas series!

  8. I agree with your reasoning...and it's why the morgue scene kicked me right out of the show. Jason has come a long way...and that scene felt really out of character. (Plus standing over Maxine's body?) It clanged in my skull. I think if they'd held off and had him fall into old patterns when she began flirting it might have been less jarring to me.

  9. what was the point of that scene with lafayette?

  10. Well he still looks at woman, it's just this scene actually points out that he is very different, because despite of what he would of done in the past, he was able to rise above it and do right by Hoyt and himself, even though he's struggling with it.

Jason hasn't been in a place in a long time where he hasn't felt scared to 'shop around'. Between Krystal's crazy Panther-Daddy belief system, breaking Hoyt's heart, and Violet manipulating him into "fighting" for what he wants by being a dominatrix for so long, did we not until now see Jason overcome his fears, but yet we also see that he cares a lot more about what he does as a result. Violet just under-estimated that he wouldn't just fight to sleep with her/have equal treatment, but that he might even fight for himself and his future, that he might realize that he could be with someone better...

  11. His relationship with Violet is really bizarre...I haven't put my finger on it yet, but after you mentioned Violet I started trying to recall how they met. Jason never had a choice in this relationship...except the one he was manipulated into. Violet basically took possession of him in the (interment camp?) and then manipulated him into thinking it was up to him whether they became lovers. So, given that this is the final season and he's taken the steps to realizing he wants a real relationship with someone better...do you think that Violet, in some ways, is mirroring his teacher? Like the end of his story will be turning his back forever on the quick thing and finding someone he will be with for 40 or 50 years? Or am I just overthinking and should be more sleep? :-D

  12. Beautifull episode, everyone struggling on their own way was so well done. I loved it. Only thing wrong tho was Jason all into Hoyt's girlfriend c'mon man!

  13. gave it an ok... a lot of set up, but still felt a little all over the place... did catch a lot of the call backs to earlier seasons: Sookie's running to see/make love to Bill, and Jason't reversion to form and lusting after Hoyt's girl - hated this plot as it felt like they are undoing any meaningful forward development of his character (just as long as he doesn't actually try to steal her I'll be fine as it will give him a chance to move past his base instinct of old horndog Jason) wasn't the worst ep, but definitely wasn't the best and with 3 eps remaining, I do hope that the writing really picks up

Ha! I'm hoping that's what happens, but at the same time I worry for him in terms of his own safety and/or what will become of him if Violet kills Jessica...It's so hard to say if the show is going to let the remaining characters end in a better place and/or just how many of them will have to to die before we get there!?

  15. I hadn't gone there. But given Bill's accelerated case of Hep-V I wouldn't be surprised if Bill survived and Jessica died. But I hadn't gone there yet. :-|

  16. Didn't you watch the previous episodes?

    ReplyDelete
  17. so? It was just all of a sudden scene about 30 seconds long, with no speaking lines for anybody but some girl...they could have save it for the next episode...it was out of place.

  18. If Pam and Eric are in an episode, then it must be good.
