I always thought that if he ever had to change into modern clothes it would be symbolic with his relationship with Emma, finally settling down in some ways in this realm

ReplyDeleteSorry I guess I don't see the no respect. He changed his whole being to try and win her heart. In the course of the last two seasons we have seen this slow evolution of this character who went from driven by hate and revenge and betrayal to driven by love. I am not sure how that is not respect. Everyone is Storybrooke has a dark element to them and Being able to get past those things is what makes the relationships so meaningful. IMO Hook is the perfect mate for Emma. They understand each other and both were victims of circumstance though they made their own choices.Hook has actually always been there for Emma even when he wasn't the nicest whereas Neal was never there for her. He never fought for her. So, IMO, I think the person that has shown the most respect for Emma has always been Hook.

Respect? He has the most respect for her, and that is been shown when he compliments her abilities as the person she is, as Emma Swan and with who and how she is from the start and even more now. This man believes in her and has faith in her. Puts her first! Chooses her, fights for her. Motivated by love - thats all he has been is that motivated by love - by loss of his brother, loss of his first love, and now finding love. The man traded his home to find her, and bring her home!!!!!!!

Yeah, sure... It's better for Emma to be with her step-grandmother who tried to kill her the same way she tried to kill her mother. How can Emma be with Hook when an actual rapist is waiting for her?

ReplyDeleteAnd if you'd bother to check Adam's tweets regularly you'd know he said Regina never raped Graham nor did she try to kill Emma. I'd look for screencaps of the statements of the creator of this show who should know better than any other person but I really don't feel like bothering with it...

ReplyDeleteI do see what you mean and o believe he was that person in S2. But that Hook lived his life driven by hate and revenge. Yes he is still a pirate but thw Hook I saw evolve throughout the end of S2 and into S3 has redeemed himself. Immensely. Both Emma and Hook have secrets and have not always made the best choice. Both have hard shells and their lives were affected by their circumstances. What I saw in S3 is Hook protecting, fighting with, supporting her and forcing her to be herself and embrace who she is. The other men in Emma's life never fought for her and didn't challenge her, pike Hook does.Everyone in Story Brooke has secrets, and to me the whole premise of Once is everyone has a chance at happiness. When someone changes so much of who they have been for a very long time, that to me is true love. On the other hand, Emma forces Hook to embrace his good side which is not always apparent but is there. Will.he still do things he shouldn't, mist likely but that is another theme of Once - accepting the good and bad parts of everyone! Actually for me him being Hot doesn't enter into it. At my age I look at the characters and the story and to me.this seems the right path to take and Hook seems to be way better for her than any of the others. We all see things differently, this is just how I see iy.
ReplyDeleteYeah because taking someone's heart and making him sleep with you is not raping at all. It doesn't matter that Emma is alive because Regina thought the apple would kill her. She knew that Emma can be saved only by her true love and Regina didn't know that Henry was Emma's TL. Vergesz I know that you are rooting for SQ and I have nothing against that but you often attack Hook so I'm just showing you how the CS shippers feel when we read your comments.
