    Pretty sure Skye's father is an alien of some sort. Maybe her mother is human and Asian.

    Since Raina described both of Skye's parents as monsters, I'm assuming she's a "full" alien and just took on a human appearance for some reason. Of course, Raina may not be the most reliable narrator...

    Or Skye's dad turned her mom into an alien. But it doesn't explain Skye's human appearance (fandom's theory that she imprinted on the SHIELD agents who found her is awesome but I doubt it's true).
