First up, Lyriq Bent (Rookie Blue, Saw IV) has been cast as Dr. Henri, a brilliant and cutting edge virologist.

Todd Stashwick (The Originals, The Riches) will play Deacon, the cunning leader of a brutal band of scavengers in the year 2043 called The West 7. Deacon amassed his followers with a “survival of the fittest” attitude… and by burning down the last few government quarantine zones.

Also, Demore Barnes (Hemlock Grove, The Unit) will fill the role of Whitley, one of the last remaining soldiers of the American military in 2043. There, he has vowed to protect the Temporal Facility that house’s mankind’s last home for salvation — Project Splinter.

Lastly, Romina D’Ugo (Showcase’s King, Nikita) will play Max, a survivor in the truest sense who grew up in the post-apocalypse and never knew the time before the plague.

In addition to Stanford and Schull, 12 Monkeys stars Kirk Acevedo (Fringe) and Noah Bean (Nikita), while previously announced recurring players include Tom Noonan (Damages) as a mysterious villain and Emily Hampshire (Rookie Blue) as mental patient Jennifer Goines aka the Brad Pitt role in the 1995 movie.

Production on 12 Monkeys commenced this week, with an eye on a January 2015 premiere.

  1. Glad to see Todd Stashwick is in this. Loved him as Father Kieran in "The Originals".

  2. Has Todd Stashwick ever had a regular role? I've only ever seen him in guest roles -- memorable, albeit small roles. I hope he can carry a regular role.
