    It might be too soon for this, but whatever. The infected (let's call it that for lack of a better expression) have a Master, who I assume is the thing that lives in the box. But is it only the Master who can infect more people or is it a general ability shared by all of them? Because that would make a big difference in terms of how to fight the infestation.

    If they're going by the books, then all the vampires can infect others (which is how they take over so quickly). However, also according to the books, destroying the Master will destroy all the other vamps.
