Without giving away why and how, let's look at the state of things for Bruce Banner at the end of "Age Of Ultron." Banner continues to play a key role in things in this movie, and when the final war with Ultron spills onto the battlefield and out of the virtual realm, he has a major part to play. Unfortunately, that ends with him onboard a Quin jet on his way off the planet, with no way to immediately turn things around. He's going to have to ride out the trip. It's pre-programmed and he can't stop it.
Here's where I'd wager his spaceship is headed: wherever the Guardians of the Galaxy are located. If I was a betting man, I'd say there will be no Hulk solo film as part of Phase Three. Instead, Banner's ship will take him to another planet, where he will end up meeting the Guardians and having an adventure with them. Hulk will definitely come out to play a few times. I suspect we'll see some sequences that very much feel like they're part of the Planet Hulk story, but that the larger story will be about the Guardians finding a way to get Banner home, only to end up going with him. That would move a big piece of the puzzle into place to get Thanos looking back at the Earth in time for the third "Avengers" film.

I think I'd be ok with that. I don't mind a Hulk/Guardians teamup movie that brings Banner back to earth in time for Avengers 3.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting. I guess it would really depend on how (if) Guardian of the Galaxy is successful...if it's a bomb there would be no reason to make a Hulk/Guardian team up movie as a squeal to either franchise.
ReplyDeleteI've been speculating this for ages and I hope it ends up being true because I love Bruce/Hulk and I want him to be in more movies but I don't want the whole Avengers are dicks who throw him into space storyline that happened in the Civil War/Planet Hulk comics and then eventually Hulk comes back and is pissed at them (World War Hulk). This works much better and also can you imagine Hulkie and the Guardians coming back just in time when everyone thinks they have lost against Thanos? It would be epic.
ReplyDeletePlus I would love to see Bruce interact with Rocket. Also it gives Age of Ultron an emotional ending without it being an Avenger who dies. Imagine Tony losing his Science Bro? Maybe Thor goes back to Asgard to search the Nine Realms for their missing comrade. Clearly I am thinking about this too much.
That would be awesome to see! And given that this is Joss Whedon we're talking about, not that big a leap LOL! The man knows how to make us fear for chracters like no other writer I can think of.
ReplyDeleteStill waiting on news that Agents of SHEILD chracters will be coming into the movie. Can you imagine how fun it would be seeing Fitz-Simmons and Stark-Banner geek out?
I want FitzSimmons to geek out with the Science Bros so much, truly it would be amazing and I hope we get a crossover of some kind when AoU comes out. Also Melinda hanging out with Natasha would be so badass.
ReplyDeleteI believe they confirmed that the main cast of Agents of SHIELD wont be included in Age of Ultron. However Agents of SHIELD will be airing at the time the movie hits cinemas so I'm thinking they'll still be involved, we just wont see that in the film. It'll be during sweeps season too so I'm expecting something big.
ReplyDeleteYeah, with the news that there may be an Avenger or two popping up I suspect that either The Science Bros or Natasha will be the ones to show up. If they got Samuel L Jackson to guest then anything is possible!
ReplyDeleteAs long as it keeps Guardians Of The Galaxy out of The Avengers I'm okay with this. It would overcomplicate the series and I don't think they'd mesh together well.

ReplyDeleteGuardians of the Galaxy 2 with The Hulk part of the crew. And The Avengers 3, the avengers still looking, locate a ship coming to earth with Bruce on board and the Guardians with him. And following that ship some enemy of the Guardians that will end up fighting the avengers also.
It is just so adorable because Banner would be really geeking out as a scientist and really damn confused and then when Hulk comes out to play its fun times for everyone.
