Peter Stormare has been tapped to play Werner Zytle in the Season 3 premiere of Arrow, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively.
In DC Comics' New 52s, Werner Zytle is the alias of Count Vertigo, one of Green Arrow's foes. On Arrow, Werner is introduced as the new purveyor of the drug Vertigo, filling the role left vacant since the death of The Count (Fringe's Seth Gabel) last season. Zytle, who will be the first villain that the team faces in Season 3, will go by the moniker Vertigo.

Good cast.. He's pretty much always a villain, isn't he? Lucky for me, I'm completely clueless about the comics and what that actually means. Just enjoying the show.

ReplyDeleteI like the actor, not sure about 'Vertigo' coming back, I'm so done with how they ruined that character (how hard would it be to keep his origin and just give him a sonic device that causes Vertigo-like symptoms?).

Convey the characters mystical character traits and don't trade them away for another Nolan-Joker knock off
He doesn't need to go into hand-to-hand combat with Arrow. This version could have a similar device that unbalances someone, like the one Count Vertigo uses on Young Justice.

ReplyDeleteI like Peter Stormare and am happy to see him in Arrow, but was kind of looking forward to seeing him in The Blacklist, so hope that this role isn't a recurring one.
