a great casting suggestion is Oded Fehr

  5. I am glad to be proven wrong. Demon is coming. Also they just announced Ted Grant/wilcat comingvand having interactions with Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  6. For me it was either Alexander Siddig or Oded, but Siddig is on GoT so now I need Oded to get the role and I'll accept no alternative,.

    ReplyDelete
  7. Did they seriously announce Ted Grant? Yesssssss, that was my one big wish for this season, for him to come and train Laurel.

    ReplyDelete
  8. OMG, this is awesome! There's the potential for so much story with Sara, Nyssa and the LoA. I can't wait. But please cast someone AMAZING. I vote for Oded Fehr.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Yes they did. Also greenarrowtv just posted a new trailer. Same one as yesterday but a 15 secs peek on Ras Al Ghul costume. They don't show the face.

    ReplyDelete
  10. I didn't saw him being the Villain this season! Thought that would be stuff for later seasons. Looking forward to it, and I have no clue who they could cast for the role.

    ReplyDelete
  11. I posted the new trailer now :)

    ReplyDelete
  12. Funny thing - I saw you mention that you're from Israel in another post, and so am I. We're supporting our fellow counryman, aren't we? :) Seriously though, he has the presence and charisma for the role down pat. But I hear we already got a glimpse of R'as in an extended Comic Con promo, meaning he's been cast? Must check this.

  13. Ted Grant coming is great news, finally someone to interact with Laurel and give her something to do outside of the endless angst with Ollie. And if they're determined to make her BC no matter what, bringing in someone who trained BC in the comics is probably the way to go.

  14. Don't forget Malcolm. I am predicting a Malcolm/ oliver partnership against Ra's.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Oh yeah... since Ra's is the only person Malcolm fears. This is gonna be good. Or at least it CAN be if they don't stick Ra's with some lame villain motivation a la Slade.

    ReplyDelete
  16. I am glad they don't just simply tease but they will bring these characters on screen. My hope for green lantern coming to Arrow is restored.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Interesting that you bought him up, because he actually voiced Ra's Al Ghul on Young Justice.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I agree. This restores my hope that I might end up liking Laurel by this season end. Best thing producers can do for her is go full steam on her journey to BC.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Episode 108 of Flash is called "Flash vs Arrow". Are they already fighting. Bad boys.

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm at work, I need to find this trailer when I get back.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I miss Young Justice (well, S1 YJ, wasn't a huge fan of S2).

    ReplyDelete
  22. Haha, yeah, representing Jerusalem here, how about you? Of course I'm supporting our fellow countrymen in their DC takeover. First Wonder Woman, next Ra's Al Ghoul. ;) But seriously, I've been a fan of his for a while and he's got the presence, charisma and look for the role. I think I heard we've only seen his outfit, haven't seen the new trailer yet.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Well this news just made my day

    ReplyDelete
  24. I would love to see GL, but budgetary reasons would really restrict it.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I liked two, but really understandable given the major time jump and changes that followed season 1. Shame we never saw the teased Apokolips storyline.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Even though it's been reported that Peter Stormare will be playing Werner Zytle / Count Vertigo next season I wonder if he will actually be playing Ra's al Ghul instead

    ReplyDelete
  27. I remember Pedro Pascal from an episode of Nikita, he was good as a creepy villain but I'm not sure he has the screen presence for a character as major as Ra's.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think he'll stay Vertigo. Given his prominence as a GA villain. While misdirection casting is pretty often, I doubt such a character would be a hoax. Though it's still possible, of course. But I guess we'll have to wait and see.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I didn't like the huge time jump, didn't like my S1 characters getting sidelined for new characters, the fact that it was completely serialized means it didn't have time for proper character development like we had in S1 when characters could have their own episode and yeah, I wanted Apokolips damnit!

    ReplyDelete
  30. Watch Game of Thrones. You'll be blown away by him as Oberyn Martell. He has the presence to pull off Ra's.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm from Tel Aviv. Hoping that by the time Arrow, The Flash, Gotham, Agents of SHIELD and the rest of that stuff starts in the fall, we can geek over it in peace without any sirens going off. :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. I'd love to see Naveen ( Sayid Jarrah - Lost / Jafar - OUaT in Wonderland ) Andrews in the role.

    ReplyDelete
  33. See I didn't have a problem with serialization itself, since I feel it can still be quite evocative of character development, but yeah it could've been done better in that regard as well.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Ouch, my sister is in Tel Aviv, I feel for you (my brother is up north with a 'Turtle 8'), I definitely share in your hope (I'm not watching AoS though, might see Gotham, will definitely see The Flash), hang tight and stay safe, let's hope it'll all be over soon.

    ReplyDelete
  35. In general I love serialized stuff. Maybe if they had more than 20 minutes per episode or had less characters, but I don't think they handled the season well and characters got shafted, especially S1 characters I cared about. And I'm going to ignore Wally's ending for my peace of mind.

    ReplyDelete
  36. That ending was unfortunate.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Thanks. Haha "Turtle 8", good one. :) AoS was slow and "meh" at first but started getting better and better in the second half of season until it was downright awesome with the Captain America: The Winter Soldier crossover. I definitely recommend it, by the end of last season I found it better than Arrow.

    ReplyDelete
  38. LOL, yeah that's one way to put it. That was an ending that only works when you know you're coming back, it's a terrible series finale ending.

    ReplyDelete
  39. LOL, are you at work right now? Because I am. I didn't invent 'turtle 8', but I do love it. At least he's up north and not down south. I keep hearing that about AoS, that it got better once Captain America stuff happened, I know a lot of spoilers but I'm still trying to decide if I want to get invested in it or not. We'll see. I do love Arrow, but I had a lot of problems with S2 and character development.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Oh yeah, at work and procrastinating like a boss. :)

The first half of Arrow S2 was stronger than S1 in my opinion, I almost didn't come back to the show after S1 (maybe I'm underrating it, don't know). But in the second half it started to become a mess. I hope they focus more on cohesive arcs for the core cast of characters next season, and less on the DC character/organization/theme of the week as an easter egg for comic fans. Seriously, that they would spend an episode on the Huntress while the likes of Diggle and Thea didn't even get an actual storyline is puzzling.

    ReplyDelete
  41. What about Stephen ( Commander Nathaniel Taylor - Terra Nova / Increase Mather - Salem ) Lang ?

    ReplyDelete
  42. Not their fault though. Nick screwed them over months after the show's production ended in favour of Beware the Batman.

    ReplyDelete
  43. SHIELDNCISArrowfan27 July 2014 at 08:35

I think they will tell us who been cast within the next two to three weeks......since he will show up early

    ReplyDelete
  44. he is only 39 years old and Katrina is 36. I don't think that would work for me :S

    ReplyDelete
  45. Oh wow, I didn't know that. I guess it would be strange then, but Katrina looks kinda young to me :)

    ReplyDelete
  46. They got screwed over, but they didn't have to end on such a cliffhanger if they didn't know they'd get renewed. Either way, it's gone way too soon.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Yeah, Pedro Pascal would be awesome! He was really great in GoT!

    ReplyDelete
  48. I love this news!!! Lots of potential, and more Sara, Nyssa and the LoA!!!

    ReplyDelete
  49. LOL, procrastinating at work is the Israeli way. ;)

I liked the second half of S1, once Slade came in (he was my favorite, in S2 they ruined his character). Thea was just the supportive girlfriend until the last few episodes, Laurel and Roy's storylines were all over the place and Laurel's was not developed well until she found out about Oliver, Diggle got 2 big episodes but other than that he was in the background being supporting, Felicity didn't have any character development, etc. I didn't like the Mirakuru storyline, the island flashbacks dragged this season and were predictable. But everything I've been hearing so far about the different character storylines for S3 has got me excited, especially Thea and Laurel, so hopefully it's a better season.

  50. Depends on whether or not the Lazarus Pit exists in the Arrow-verse(I think it does).

    ReplyDelete
  51. Its has more to the fact that i am aware of the ages of the actors in real life, I was barely ok with Malcolm & Tommy and Moira & Oliver. And they had much greater gap than Katrina and Pedro.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Katrina does look younger, but her character I dont think is suppose to be 36, probably early 30's at most. So whoever is cast as Ra should be someone in there late 40's or early 50's at least or older.

    ReplyDelete
  53. So will episode 108 of Arrow be called Arrow vs Flash. Reversing the names for the show, but then it would be so confusing with similar title names maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  54. i always think of them in their actual years, my preference would always be Oded Fehr.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Finally! I don´t why but I hope it´s going to be James Saito. He has history with Berlanit/Guggenheim/Kreisberg and would be a nice fit.

    ReplyDelete
  56. He would be good, I forgot he played a demon on Charmed after looking at his imdb profile.

    ReplyDelete
  57. But i have faith it will be a good casting choice. The casting director makes good decisions.

    ReplyDelete
  58. As ignorant as I am when it comes to comics, I find that a little confusing. Don't get me wrong, I know a thing or two about Ra's, and I think he most likely will be a very interesting addition. I just don't understand on what timeline/universe he belongs. Isn't arrow a little young to take on freaking Ra's Al Ghul. The guy is supposed to be really tough, and even Batman had some serious trouble defeating him, on a movie and a game xD..

    ReplyDelete
  59. Excellent news! Hope this means lots more Nyssa and Sara!

First choice for casting would be Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje but Oded Fehr would be a close second.

    ReplyDelete
  60. Amell refers to Batman as "discount Green Arrow", so I don' think he'll be terribly perturbed at Batman's difficulties.

If this is classic Ra's, he's hundreds of years old. Everyone is "too young" for him.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Yeah I'm officially done with this show. They pissed on a great Green Arrow character in Shado, turned Deathstroke into a love sick puppy, and are now introducing love triangles.
I fear for what they are going to do to Ra's Al Ghul.
I will always appreciate season one, I own it on DVD but I'm personally done with it now.
Just my own opinion, not telling anyone I'm right or that you have to agree with me it's just my own thoughts.

    ReplyDelete
  62. I'm loving that there will be a major Ra's presence in the show--but none of the actors mentioned seem right for the part. Pedro seems too much like Manu Bennett, and his previous Baddie's are not epic enough for Ra's. Even Liam Neeson, from the Nolan Batman movies, didn't quite get it right: Ra's has to be supremely confident and BIGGER than life. I can't think of a single actor who can play him, so making him the season's Big Bad could be a mistake.

    ReplyDelete
  63. Casting Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje would be extremely courageous--and I like it! He's an excellent Villain (just see him in "Strike Back") and is HUGE physically, which will play very well against the other Arrow actors who, while pumped, are average height & weight. Plus his Brit Accent, along with Nyssa's, gives him & the LOA the international flavor it needs. Bottom line: casting Adewale would bring to Ra's the type of excitement the role deserves.

    ReplyDelete
  64. Right? The man is the very definition of moxie! Haven't seen Strike Back but I will track it down now - he is one of my favorite actors. Whenever Ra's was mentioned in the show, it was him that I pictured in the role. His fight scene with Oded Fehr's character in The Mummy Returns is my second favorite scene in the entire franchise (and it's spin offs) and Mr Echo was one of my favorites on Lost.

I'm not familiar with the comics so I'm not sure how the character is described in them but considering Ra's is the only guy Malcolm is afraid of, the actor portraying him must have some serious screen presence to pull it off as the Big Bad of S3!

Ok, I know this is a far stretch, but...
Bigger than life, for me, translates s "Dwayne Rock"
And, yes, I know no one like this suggestion xD

    ReplyDelete
  66. He's still Count Vertigo the character of Ra's Al Ghul hasn't been cast yet they're still looking for him but I don't think we'll see him for a while anyway.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Awwww man. I love it, iI love it, I love it!

    ReplyDelete
  68. I have to disagree on Pedro, he can pull the intensity, engaging, confidence, and bigger than life aspects as well as the physicality to pull it off and at least to me is very different from Bennett in his performances.

    ReplyDelete
  69. That's awful. I'm sorry but no. I like him, but no.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Great. Works for me.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Ok... as I said I was just saying my opinion. Thanks for correcting me.

    ReplyDelete
  72. And I was stating mine. Well that and stuff that had happened on the show.

    ReplyDelete
  73. Ok all good, have a good day mate! Wherever you are in the world.
