i can't understand why they need another triangle - I'm so done with this!! Stefan and Caroline are so much better as friends - not all characters in one tv show have to sleep together (at some point) for the show to be interesting!!

You're right, not all characters need to become lovers. But it's a waste of potential when you ignore chemistry just to make a point. Stefan and Caroline are really great friends, they could be even better lovers. Ignoring what's developing between them to keep them friends would be a waste.
Honestly, the "why can't they just be friends" argument has no ground to stand on, because the entire argument depends on a question that can't be answered. There is no good reason why they shouldn't do it, and so far the friendshippers can only come up with worst case scenarios. It's weird how the friendshippers also think that Stefan and Caroline are such great friends, but apparently not great enough to still be friends after a breakup.
I personally think Stefan and Caroline could be very happy together. What they've BOTH been looking for in a relationship is what the other is able to contribute. There's no sense in blatantly ignoring that.
I chose Damon & Bonnie, and Other. Bonnie is a strong young woman who would challenge Damon enough to make him want to redeem himself. I can't see her putting on love goggles and making up excuses for every bad thing he does. L.J. Smith, the only writer of the books that I care to acknowledge, hinted that she wanted these characters to be one endgame relationship for the series. As for characters having sex, Julie Plec said that it happens on occasion so that the fans can get a temporary respite from the complicated drama happening on either show. If there isn't any relationship fun, then all that's left is drama, which can get tedious on its own after a while.
I also chose Other because I'm interested in where Elena and Alaric will end up. I'm not saying that they should or shouldn't be in a relationship. Obviously it would be wrong to start them off in a romance because Alaric was once a father figure to Elena, but I think the dynamic will be slightly different because after Alaric became a vampire and died, Elena became a vampire and Jeremy became One of the Five. It's hard to say whether Alaric started to disapprove of Elena's relationship with Damon after a while, and whether it was all about paternal instinct. It seemed like he valued his friendship with Damon over Elena's well-being- until Damon got Elena blown up. Season 6 is supposed to be about the characters each having journeys of their own for a while, and even though Jeremy is supposed to be living in Mystic Falls after the time jump, I don't see why Elena won't be off somewhere trying to help Alaric cope with the changes he has to go through as a vampire. Alaric, in turn, will probably do everything he can to keep Elena from getting involved in Stefan's unhealthy efforts to resurrect Damon. I could be way off. Elena's surprising coping mechanism could be sleeping with Enzo. He would take advantage of her grief and seriously corrupt her.
While I believe that Stefan & Caroline would be a logical step in separating Elena from both of them for a while, I don't think that pairing would or should last very long at all. It's been established in more than one episode that Caroline is getting darker with time. She proved in the Season 5 finale that she's capable of murder. Stefan is too, but he tends to shy away from that part of himself. I can't see him killing a witch to force another witch to do a spell. I'm not saying that Stefan and Elena should be together. I think that ship has sailed for now, but Stefan and Caroline definitely aren't a good match. They have chemistry at the moment, but all I've seen is Stefan leading Caroline on while she deals with feelings for him and he convinces himself that he has feelings for her because he wants to get over Elena. If those two attempt an actual relationship, I can't see it ending well.
I don't think that Stefan and Caroline were really GREAT friends, just friends who came together to brainstorm when there was a problem. They're not close enough friends for them to want to stay friends when an opportunity presents itself for a relationship, but that doesn't mean they should be in a relationship either. Whatever chemistry they have is happening on a deeper level for Caroline than it is for Stefan, and the way Stefan kept flaunting possible feelings for Caroline in front of Elena, it's obvious that Steroline would not end well if it happens anytime soon.
I seem to remember a scene where Elena was kinda poking fun at Caroline and Stefan stood up for her. Then there was the whole crying over Stefan being tortured, the way she reacted to his death, the fact that she instantly dropped her "Don't kill anyone" belief when there was even the slightest chance of bringing him back, the fact that they keep spending so much of their time together, I can keep going.
Also, I've never seen Stefan flaunt his feelings for Caroline in front of Elena. Almost every interaction between Steroline has only involved the two of them. In fact, he's denied any feelings towards her over and over again, even to his best friend who pointed it outright to him. Twice!
Besides that, the writers have already made it clear that they have no intention of making a love triangle happen between Stefan, Caroline, and Elena. Elena is supposedly going to be fine with it after some adjustment. Besides that, she dated his BROTHER, and spent the majority of the previous season expressing her undying love for Damon. She has no ground to stand on when it comes to Steroline.
I've also never seen Stefan say anything about Caroline being unintelligent. Not once. Unless you're talking about that situation after she slept with Klaus when he was teasing her in order to cheer her up, but that wasn't at all genuine.
So reading through all of that, I'm not exactly sure where you're getting your argument from, because nothing that you said reflects what we've seen on the show itself.
Stefan's never flaunted his feelings for Caroline toward Elena because he doesn't even know he has them yet. Stefan has never thought so little of Caroline and has even defended her, sometimes violently, against people who do. You act like they have a friendship of convenience, but absolutely nothing supports that because of everything we've seen between them. Caroline has realized her feelings faster than Stefan, but that doesn't mean it's happening on a deeper level since Caroline has always worn her heart on her sleeve in the first place.
I'm starting to wonder if you're just making up reasons to not like them.
People keep talking that Stefan and Caroline would create another triangle... Well, in my opinion, if Stefan actually admit his feelings for her, he and Elena are done. The show is coming closer and closer to an end. Maybe the endgame will be Delena and Steroline. It makes sense to me.
As long as writers' plan is not use Stefan Caroline romance to return back to Stefan Elena couple it's best potential couple. And if they create Stefan-Caroline-Elena triangle it'll completely ruin the show as if it does not already suck.
Lmao, Damon and Bonnie? Damon loves Elena more han anything while accoridng to Julie Plec Stefan is moving on from Elena and capable of falling in love with someone other than Elena. Both writers made it clear that this is not possible for Damon. He basically called Elena HIS LIFE and Elena said a future with Damon is all she sees. And Stefan DIED saving Caroline's life.
I want Enzo to stay away from Caroline because a romantic storyline with her would ruin him as a character. He is too much fun so I hope they don't turn him into another love sick puppy.

There was a scene not long ago about Caroline doing some calculations and Damon asking "Caroline???" As in she's really not that smart. And Stefan saying "she had a calculator". As in he agreed but she had a calculator. Maybe the person who posted was thinking about this moment.
I hope the sixth season is the last. VD used to be my favorite show but now I feel they have run out of storylines and JP doesn't even know what to do with the characters.

There's been a lot of foreshadowing about it over the first five seasons, and I think there's a lot of potential there. And if Candice Accola wants to join in, I'm game, because we all know love triangles are awesome.
What Julie Plec says in interviews isn't always what shows up on-screen, and quotes from her are usually up for interpretation anyway. Stefan told Elena that he believes you can't be friends with someone and be in love with them, and he used that as a basis to tell Elena that they can't be friends. Then he later talked about Caroline in front of Elena as if he was trying to make her jealous or something, and she called him pathetic and then changed the subject. Stefan isn't completely over Elena, and he needs to move on with someone who is not part of Elena's life. He's not really moving on if he tries to get together with Elena's best friend.
Haven't watched last 1 or 2 season, But I agree with you, they were good friends even in season 1 after her becoming a vampire, and you could see the potential of a drama free relationship there. So I can see here they could go with this.
Calm down lol. Plec has said in many interviews she "identifies" with Caroline and that she is her favorite character with Matt. Also it should be pretty obvious by the fact she is the best vampire in the show and every single guy falls in love with her.
Lolllll hate to break it to ya chicky, but damon prioritizing elena as his "life" is the most unhealthy thing in the history of relationship 101 EVER and the fact that she was willing to die with him instead of sticking around with her BROTHER who would be an orphan is just alarming. It's sad really that she cared more about her "future" with damon despite the fact that the only reason Bonnie was dead in the first place was BECAUSE SHE DIED TO BRING ELENA'S BROTHER BACK. Speaking of, he ships BAMON and has stated repeatedly that he thinks Bonnie and Damon should get together; he is well aware that they existed in the books and he even spilled the beans in TV GUIDE about the reason that they no longer got as much development after season 2. The CW felt threatened by his chemistry with Kat Graham and wanted more of a focus on the triangle. So, actually--bamon would have been a thing three seasons ago had the network not tried to stop it. Another fun fact- at a convention recently, julie plec told everyone how Ian took her out to dinner to ask for a "deep storyline" with bonnie and she told him she was going to grant his wish. She wrote the ending to 5x22 with Damon and Bonne dying together LAST year during season 4--this isn't something random, it's been in the works for over a year now.
Ian is pretty much the star of the vampire diaries and I can't blame him for being sick of Delena when it's done nothing but make his character so boring, because Damon can't be who he is while he is in this sort of relationship. Ian ships Bamon because he believes not only in his chemistry with Kat, but that "Bonne and Damon are cut from the very same cloth" as far as their personalities and sacrifices for others go and he enjoys the dynamic that they have much more than the one he has been given with Elena. Julie has also been asked about Bamon numerous times and her responses have ranged from "never say never" to "it's a possibility--but it was something that happened in the books MUCH later on so....do with that what you want." Damon saying he "peaked" within his love with Elena on EARTH is also probably your next clue that wherever he goes with Bonnie will be bigger than what he thought he had before. Just saying.
Damon and Bonnie have the best potential because both characters are in much need of a better storyline. The writers have been neglecting their relationship long enough but the development (though slow and with part of it happening off screen) has been there. It's bamon time!
The only reasons I'm opposed are this show doesn't need another relationship, I'm pretty worried that the writers would mess up the characters and their relationship, as well that they will create unnecessary drama (because it's Julie Plec).

When pretty much until the very middle of s5 it was only tyler for caroline and that the reason she isnt even with him at the moment was because HE wants it that way (not a forwood shipper) but yet you cant see Damon moving on from his unhealthy obsession over Elena. Not to mention, again, Caroline Drives runs TVD and the show is written by an entire writers room. So unless Plec is "compelling" them all... your theory is currently logistically impossible.

the fact that the network has cockblocked Bamon's development since season 2 on purpose. The fact that Bonnie and Damon havent gotten half the development in the last few seasons that steroline have who have shared a scene almost every episode since s4. The fact that for the season the other highlight in Bamon scenes was that last scene and still Bamon seems to able to get just as much fans as steroline (though steroline is still more popular since the writers and media keep mentioning them since s4 and thats only because of their noticeable amount of screentime together in comparison to Bonnie and Damon's) the fact that effortlessly Bamon can still manage in this fandom speaks volumes. Bonnie and Damon were stopped early in tvd because the network felt it was a threat to the triangle and Ian even said it recently... not steroline, not stebekah, not debekah but Bamon. And yet here all are still waiting each time they give us a siginifacnt scene each season. If Bamon have gotten HALF the development and screentime all these couple have had Bamon will be tvds more popular thing because the chemistry is just amazing and though i never read the books nor i shipped Bamon because of the books... i wouldnt doubt tv Bamon would be bigger than stelena and delena in the show had they been fair to them just like book bamon was more popular than SE and DE.
I'm really excited for Damon and Bonnie being explored. Romantic or platonic, they gave me Sawyer and Juliet vibes, a dynamic that I loved. Maybe Bonnie could make Damon achieve some actual progress or redemption.

Well from what I've heard they had to kill Stefan off for Delena to be endgame. And let's not forget the story wasn't written by the original writer. So all and all nothing is set in stone. We will know the real "endgames" after L.J.'s books comes out. People just like to use the books are basis, forgetting the books and the show are completely different at the same time.

What did Damon do? Came up with a plan B in order to save Bonnie. And I could present more data to disprove that, but I won't. BONNIE AND DAMON DEFINITELY! . It's so unnatural how they've forced this storyline out like is not even funny. The show is missing new stuff . The triangle is old and so the couples in it. BAMON BAMON BAMON!.
I voted Bamon 'cause it's about time that Ian and Kat got a decent storyline with people they have great chemistry with. Bonnie outgrew Jeremy in season 2 and she hasn't really had any decent storyline either with the exception of constantly dying for one Gilbert or the other. Damon for the past 5 seasons has been doing nothing but going after girls that loves his brother and acting irrational when they say no. For the past 5 seasons he's been doing nothing but wanting to get the girl. No storyline nothing. Also, Ian himself recently said they were going to do Bamon in season 2, but 'cause of their potential and their strong chemistry the network and producers said no in other to make sure the triangle was able to continue. Fact is the potential is there. They just have to go with it. I just want both to finally get a decent storyline. I mean compared to Nina and Paul what has Ian been doing? They've have different characters and along with it different guest stars. And his character what does he do, get the girl. Bonnie is stuck with either saving Jeremy, and dying or losing her powers or just being in pain.
I shouldn't have to explain why Bonnie and Damon would be a terrible idea. It makes no sense. They hate each other. At best tolerate the other. Not to mention he's practically obsessed with Elena and in love with her and so is Bonnie with Jeremy. You want to know why I don't want anymore romances, simple; this show bases every plot development, story angle and character work on romance it's incredibly tired and annoying at times, I just want one character on this show to not have romantic plot line. The forced romantic drama ruined Elena's character, has given Damon weird uneven character moments and distracts from any non romance plot this show has. I swear the only reason characters like Tyler, Jeremy and Bonnie even exist anymore are to fill some sort of romance drama quota because their relevance and usefulness to the story is minimal at best. I don't mind romance, but when you drive every plot with some contrived romantic angle or create drama in every relationship for the sake of angst it's lazy. I'm sorry for that tirade but I just had to say it. The only romance at this point that doesn't seem really forced is Stefan and Caroline, but even that I'm not very thrilled about because a) it'll most likely lead to Stefan/Caroline/Elena drama, b) I honestly don't trust the writers with romances ,and c) why can't guys and girls just be really close friends on TV.
The people saying Damon and Bonnie I will never understand:/ Is it because of the book? because in the t-v show they would be so strange and weird together, they don't make any sense. Although, I'm really excited for Stefan and Caroline. Stefan and Caroline have a great friendship<3 and we didn't get to see that much of it this year because it was focusing so much on delena. Which I'm not complaining about, I'm a huge delena fan! but I would have liked to see a little more steroline also. So next year I'm hoping that it mostly drags the steroline relationship, like keep them friends for a lot of season 6 and then more and more as it gets closer to the end of the season till finally they get together or something. I don't want them to instantly go into season 6 with steroline together. I feel like if the writers do not mess it up, Steroline can be an AMAZING couple!
There is no passion and fire there. Three minutes after their hookup the masses will be bored out of their minds with Steroline, much the same way with Jeremy and Bonnie.
I'm just here for Tyler. Don't care who he is with. Tyler/Liv or Tylena would be hot. I'm kinda sad about how things turned out for Caroline. Steroline will have the same consequences as Maroline had. Klaroline was super gross and it still amazes me that the writers went for the whole Robin-Thicke-sponsered hookup against a tree because "she wanted it" every time she turned him down. Same for Elena. I can't sit through another delena scene. Gross. Give her back her agency. Free Elena and Caroline.

I would like to see Stefan meet someone new and move on from Elena but I don't think he should hook-up with any of the existing characters on the show. Damon has never actually cared about Bonnie and I enjoy how Bonnie dislikes Damon and it would be OCC for both of them to get together. I only ship Caroline with getting an actual storyline because I'm so tired of her being relegated to only being there to be a love interest. I guess I'd be okay with Caroline & Enzo hooking-up but I don't think they should actually get together.
I guess it depends on what you consider to be the end - if you're stopping with the LJ Smith books or if you're counting the more recent ones.
In the most recent book (by Aubrey Clarke) Elena goes back in time to her Senior Year of high school (which is when she met Stefan & Damon) and gets a do-over.
MTE. Stefan & Damon have both already slept with Katherine, Elena and Rebekah. We don't need to add Caroline to the list of women that they've both slept with. Caroline also has already also been with Matt, Tyler and Klaus. She doesn't need another love interest - she needs character development.
They really need to meet new people outside their little social circle in Mystic Falls (and now that MF has the anti-magic thing they should be forced to live elsewhere and meet new people).
That's preposterous. I'd rather watch Stefan and Caroline knit for 4 hours than watch Caroline hate herself for finding Klaus attractive. There are ways to portray healthy couples in an interesting light.
I'm all in for Matt getting a real relationship with someone non-supernatural. The poor guy deserves something less complicated, and the show needs an influx of real people that don't die in an episode or two.
I want him to have a nice sweet girl. He deserves one. He's earned it with all the shit he's been through. I wonder where she'll come from? And I don't want her to have some secret agenda to destroy the group. I just want her to be some plain Jane chick that'll hopefully catch Matt's eye.
And unfortunately the writers of this show DON'T know how to do it. Steroline is only going to be used to piss Elena off and get her to realize that she still has feelings for Stefan, thus re-igniting the triangle, which is this show's main premise. Watch! After Stelena reunites, she will be moved over to Enzo. There is a reason he was made a regular.
Damon was still totally obsessed with her in Season 1 still. He devoted 150 years of his life to waiting around for the comet to appear again so he could open the tomb and be reunited with her.
Considering how obsessed with Katherine he was I doubt he ever had a stable or healthy relationship in his life. When he found out the truth about Katherine he then moved onto Elena because she looked exactly like Katherine.
So blatant speculation being passed off as fact is the reason Steroline shouldn't happen? Once again: that's preposterous. The writers have something special with Steroline and they've done a marvelous job so far. Of course they could eff it up, but that's just like with any other storyline. I'm enjoying the journey so far and am holding on to hope that they'll do the Stefan and Caroline romance service - which is why they're winning this poll that is all about POTENTIAL.
I would actually agree with all of this (not a Damon fan by any means at all) but you've completely disregarded the Stefan end of this commentary. He functions just fine without Katherine or Elena (the Ripper is another matter entirely that we've witnessed him fighting to overcome).

Ok i agree !- But we all know that the writes just love the hole Stefan/Elena/Damon triangle. And even if they give us a few episodes with Stefan and Caroline later on we will be at square one (Stefan/Elena )again- like every season. I'm like 99% sure that at the beginning of the next season we will see Stefan and Elena getting close again( because Damon is not there) And I'm just not looking forward to all this rotation again and again!
Doesn't anyone else feel like Damon should finally get a girl that hasn't been with his brother or liked his brother first that might actually truly love him and not go back and forth between him and brother. I love Elena but I have always felt Bonnie was a better choice for Damon. When Damon and Bonnie get together they are always team badass. Bonnie and Damon's friendship was taking shape in S1 & S2, which was why you got the episode which is on youtube with Elena telling Stefan who thought that Damon didn't like Bonnie, that yes he did, in fact he kind of loves her. So even as far back as then they were building on a relationship for Bamon, since even Elena noticed and stated this fact to Stefan. However, what happened was Bamon storyline had to take a backseat to The Originals or more to the point Klaus. Therefore, I believe they are using this opportunity to get it back on track again and what better way to do it then have both Damon and Bonnie stranded somewhere else in a place of safety that Grams secured for Bonnie. A place where Bonnie is going to witness a different side to Damon and come to a new understanding of him. Therefore, by the time Damon and Bonnie return their relationship will have the status it should have had, had they continued along the path they were going way back in S2. L.J. Smith, who wrote the original TVD books 1 to 7 liked both DE and DB, and in the same fashion that Elena didn't want to choose between Damon and Stefan in the books, Damon was going to find himself in a similiar place where he loved not only Elena but Bonnie too. Which L.J is continuing to write now as fan fiction novels on Amazon, a trilogy called Evensong.
You are exactly right, Damon had lots of opportunity to be rid of Bonnie but chose to save her everytime. Which is why I take Elena's words to Stefan also in S2 that Damon infact kind of loves her. Therefore, what we were witnessing was a kind of push pull between Damon and Bonnie. They were setting up Bamon in almost the same fashion they were setting up DE. DE is my no 1 OTP, but I don't mind DB either, because Damon has chemistry with both Elena and Bonnie, plus it will be good for Damon to have someone else along with Elena who has totally faith in him, and Bonnie like in the books makes an excellent choice. Nothing wrong with having a doppelganger and witch fighting in your corner.

ReplyDeleteYou're right, not all characters need to become lovers. But it's a waste of potential when you ignore chemistry just to make a point. Stefan and Caroline are really great friends, they could be even better lovers. Ignoring what's developing between them to keep them friends would be a waste.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, the "why can't they just be friends" argument has no ground to stand on, because the entire argument depends on a question that can't be answered. There is no good reason why they shouldn't do it, and so far the friendshippers can only come up with worst case scenarios. It's weird how the friendshippers also think that Stefan and Caroline are such great friends, but apparently not great enough to still be friends after a breakup.
I personally think Stefan and Caroline could be very happy together. What they've BOTH been looking for in a relationship is what the other is able to contribute. There's no sense in blatantly ignoring that.
I chose Damon & Bonnie, and Other. Bonnie is a strong young woman who would challenge Damon enough to make him want to redeem himself. I can't see her putting on love goggles and making up excuses for every bad thing he does. L.J. Smith, the only writer of the books that I care to acknowledge, hinted that she wanted these characters to be one endgame relationship for the series. As for characters having sex, Julie Plec said that it happens on occasion so that the fans can get a temporary respite from the complicated drama happening on either show. If there isn't any relationship fun, then all that's left is drama, which can get tedious on its own after a while.
ReplyDeleteI also chose Other because I'm interested in where Elena and Alaric will end up. I'm not saying that they should or shouldn't be in a relationship. Obviously it would be wrong to start them off in a romance because Alaric was once a father figure to Elena, but I think the dynamic will be slightly different because after Alaric became a vampire and died, Elena became a vampire and Jeremy became One of the Five. It's hard to say whether Alaric started to disapprove of Elena's relationship with Damon after a while, and whether it was all about paternal instinct. It seemed like he valued his friendship with Damon over Elena's well-being- until Damon got Elena blown up. Season 6 is supposed to be about the characters each having journeys of their own for a while, and even though Jeremy is supposed to be living in Mystic Falls after the time jump, I don't see why Elena won't be off somewhere trying to help Alaric cope with the changes he has to go through as a vampire. Alaric, in turn, will probably do everything he can to keep Elena from getting involved in Stefan's unhealthy efforts to resurrect Damon. I could be way off. Elena's surprising coping mechanism could be sleeping with Enzo. He would take advantage of her grief and seriously corrupt her.
While I believe that Stefan & Caroline would be a logical step in separating Elena from both of them for a while, I don't think that pairing would or should last very long at all. It's been established in more than one episode that Caroline is getting darker with time. She proved in the Season 5 finale that she's capable of murder. Stefan is too, but he tends to shy away from that part of himself. I can't see him killing a witch to force another witch to do a spell. I'm not saying that Stefan and Elena should be together. I think that ship has sailed for now, but Stefan and Caroline definitely aren't a good match. They have chemistry at the moment, but all I've seen is Stefan leading Caroline on while she deals with feelings for him and he convinces himself that he has feelings for her because he wants to get over Elena. If those two attempt an actual relationship, I can't see it ending well.
Maybe all these triangles are why TVD was not the CWs number one show this season.
ReplyDeleteI don't think that Stefan and Caroline were really GREAT friends, just friends who came together to brainstorm when there was a problem. They're not close enough friends for them to want to stay friends when an opportunity presents itself for a relationship, but that doesn't mean they should be in a relationship either. Whatever chemistry they have is happening on a deeper level for Caroline than it is for Stefan, and the way Stefan kept flaunting possible feelings for Caroline in front of Elena, it's obvious that Steroline would not end well if it happens anytime soon.

Then there was the whole crying over Stefan being tortured, the way she reacted to his death, the fact that she instantly dropped her "Don't kill anyone" belief when there was even the slightest chance of bringing him back, the fact that they keep spending so much of their time together, I can keep going.

Besides that, the writers have already made it clear that they have no intention of making a love triangle happen between Stefan, Caroline, and Elena. Elena is supposedly going to be fine with it after some adjustment. Besides that, she dated his BROTHER, and spent the majority of the previous season expressing her undying love for Damon. She has no ground to stand on when it comes to Steroline.
I've also never seen Stefan say anything about Caroline being unintelligent. Not once. Unless you're talking about that situation after she slept with Klaus when he was teasing her in order to cheer her up, but that wasn't at all genuine.
So reading through all of that, I'm not exactly sure where you're getting your argument from, because nothing that you said reflects what we've seen on the show itself.
Stefan's never flaunted his feelings for Caroline toward Elena because he doesn't even know he has them yet. Stefan has never thought so little of Caroline and has even defended her, sometimes violently, against people who do. You act like they have a friendship of convenience, but absolutely nothing supports that because of everything we've seen between them. Caroline has realized her feelings faster than Stefan, but that doesn't mean it's happening on a deeper level since Caroline has always worn her heart on her sleeve in the first place.
I'm starting to wonder if you're just making up reasons to not like them.
I would like to see Tyler & Liv together, they seem compatible. I would really like for Luke & Liv to comeback, think their story is untold.

Bonnie & damon would be an intruiging mix but we suffered through so much delena drama this season let them be end game.
People keep talking that Stefan and Caroline would create another triangle... Well, in my opinion, if Stefan actually admit his feelings for her, he and Elena are done. The show is coming closer and closer to an end. Maybe the endgame will be Delena and Steroline. It makes sense to me.

ReplyDeleteWhat Julie Plec says in interviews isn't always what shows up on-screen, and quotes from her are usually up for interpretation anyway. Stefan told Elena that he believes you can't be friends with someone and be in love with them, and he used that as a basis to tell Elena that they can't be friends. Then he later talked about Caroline in front of Elena as if he was trying to make her jealous or something, and she called him pathetic and then changed the subject. Stefan isn't completely over Elena, and he needs to move on with someone who is not part of Elena's life. He's not really moving on if he tries to get together with Elena's best friend.

Lolllll hate to break it to ya chicky, but damon prioritizing elena as his "life" is the most unhealthy thing in the history of relationship 101 EVER and the fact that she was willing to die with him instead of sticking around with her BROTHER who would be an orphan is just alarming. It's sad really that she cared more about her "future" with damon despite the fact that the only reason Bonnie was dead in the first place was BECAUSE SHE DIED TO BRING ELENA'S BROTHER BACK. How selfish can she be really? Also, DAMON CALLED THEM TOXIC FOR A REASON and he was right. The type of relationship that Damon and Elena have is abusive for the both of them, honestly. ReplyDeleteSpeaking of, he ships BAMON and has stated repeatedly that he thinks Bonnie and Damon should get together; he is well aware that they existed in the books and he even spilled the beans in TV GUIDE about the reason that they no longer got as much development after season 2. The CW felt threatened by his chemistry with Kat Graham and wanted more of a focus on the triangle. So, actually--bamon would have been a thing three seasons ago had the network not tried to stop it. Another fun fact- at a convention recently, julie plec told everyone how Ian took her out to dinner to ask for a "deep storyline" with bonnie and she told him she was going to grant his wish. She wrote the ending to 5x22 with Damon and Bonne dying together LAST year during season 4--this isn't something random, it's been in the works for over a year now.
Ian is pretty much the star of the vampire diaries and I can't blame him for being sick of Delena when it's done nothing but make his character so boring, because Damon can't be who he is while he is in this sort of relationship. Ian ships Bamon because he believes not only in his chemistry with Kat, but that "Bonne and Damon are cut from the very same cloth" as far as their personalities and sacrifices for others go and he enjoys the dynamic that they have much more than the one he has been given with Elena. Julie has also been asked about Bamon numerous times and her responses have ranged from "never say never" to "it's a possibility--but it was something that happened in the books MUCH later on so....do with that what you want." Damon saying he "peaked" within his love with Elena on EARTH is also probably your next clue that wherever he goes with Bonnie will be bigger than what he thought he had before. Just saying.

ReplyDeletethe fact that the network has cockblocked Bamon's development since season 2 on purpose. The fact that Bonnie and Damon havent gotten half the development in the last few seasons that steroline have who have shared a scene almost every episode since s4. The fact that for the season the other highlight in Bamon scenes was that last scene and still Bamon seems to able to get just as much fans as steroline (though steroline is still more popular since the writers and media keep mentioning them since s4 and thats only because of their noticeable amount of screentime together in comparison to Bonnie and Damon's) the fact that effortlessly Bamon can still manage in this fandom speaks volumes. Bonnie and Damon were stopped early in tvd because the network felt it was a threat to the triangle and Ian even said it recently... not steroline, not stebekah, not debekah but Bamon. And yet here all are still waiting each time they give us a siginifacnt scene each season. If Bamon have gotten HALF the development and screentime all these couple have had Bamon will be tvds more popular thing because the chemistry is just amazing and though i never read the books nor i shipped Bamon because of the books... i wouldnt doubt tv Bamon would be bigger than stelena and delena in the show had they been fair to them just like book bamon was more popular than SE and DE.

I don't think they would be a good couple. I think Damon loves Elena A LOT and he would never fall in love with her best friend. We're talking about Damon.. So all and all nothing is set in stone. We will know the real "endgames" after L.J.'s books comes out. S3 when Elijah told Damon to kill the witches in order to save Elena. What did Damon do? Came up with a plan B in order to save Bonnie. And I could present more data to disprove that, but I won't. Also, Ian himself recently said they were going to do Bamon in season 2, but 'cause of their potential and their strong chemistry the network and producers said no in other to make sure the triangle was able to continue. Fact is the potential is there. They just have to go with it.
I just want both to finally get a decent storyline. I mean compared to Nina and Paul what has Ian been doing? They've have different characters and along with it different guest stars. And his character what does he do, get the girl. Bonnie is stuck with either saving Jeremy, and dying or losing her powers or just being in pain.
I shouldn't have to explain why Bonnie and Damon would be a terrible idea. It makes no sense. They hate each other. At best tolerate the other. Not to mention he's practically obsessed with Elena and in love with her and so is Bonnie with Jeremy. You want to know why I don't want anymore romances, simple; this show bases every plot development, story angle and character work on romance it's incredibly tired and annoying at times, I just want one character on this show to not have romantic plot line. The forced romantic drama ruined Elena's character, has given Damon weird uneven character moments and distracts from any non romance plot this show has. I swear the only reason characters like Tyler, Jeremy and Bonnie even exist anymore are to fill some sort of romance drama quota because their relevance and usefulness to the story is minimal at best. I don't mind romance, but when you drive every plot with some contrived romantic angle or create drama in every relationship for the sake of angst it's lazy. I'm sorry for that tirade but I just had to say it. The only romance at this point that doesn't seem really forced is Stefan and Caroline, but even that I'm not very thrilled about because a) it'll most likely lead to Stefan/Caroline/Elena drama, b) I honestly don't trust the writers with romances ,and c) why can't guys and girls just be really close friends on TV.

ReplyDeleteThe people saying Damon and Bonnie I will never understand:/ Is it because of the book? because in the t-v show they would be so strange and weird together, they don't make any sense. Although, I'm really excited for Stefan and Caroline. Stefan and Caroline have a great friendship<3 and we didn't get to see that much of it this year because it was focusing so much on delena. Which I'm not complaining about, I'm a huge delena fan! but I would have liked to see a little more steroline also. So next year I'm hoping that it mostly drags the steroline relationship, like keep them friends for a lot of season 6 and then more and more as it gets closer to the end of the season till finally they get together or something. I don't want them to instantly go into season 6 with steroline together. I feel like if the writers do not mess it up, Steroline can be an AMAZING couple!

ReplyDeleteI'm kinda sad about how things turned out for Caroline. Steroline will have the same consequences as Maroline had. Klaroline was super gross and it still amazes me that the writers went for the whole Robin-Thicke-sponsered hookup against a tree because "she wanted it" every time she turned him down.
Same for Elena. I can't sit through another delena scene. Gross. Give her back her agency.

I would like to see Stefan meet someone new and move on from Elena but I don't think he should hook-up with any of the existing characters on the show. Damon has never actually cared about Bonnie and I enjoy how Bonnie dislikes Damon and it would be OCC for both of them to get together. I only ship Caroline with getting an actual storyline because I'm so tired of her being relegated to only being there to be a love interest. I guess I'd be okay with Caroline & Enzo hooking-up but I don't think they should actually get together.
I guess it depends on what you consider to be the end - if you're stopping with the LJ Smith books or if you're counting the more recent ones.
ReplyDeleteIn the most recent book (by Aubrey Clarke) Elena goes back in time to her Senior Year of high school (which is when she met Stefan & Damon) and gets a do-over.
MTE. Stefan & Damon have both already slept with Katherine, Elena and Rebekah. We don't need to add Caroline to the list of women that they've both slept with. Caroline also has already also been with Matt, Tyler and Klaus. She doesn't need another love interest - she needs character development.

That's preposterous. I'd rather watch Stefan and Caroline knit for 4 hours than watch Caroline hate herself for finding Klaus attractive. There are ways to portray healthy couples in an interesting light.

And I don't want her to have some secret agenda to destroy the group. I just want her to be some plain Jane chick that'll hopefully catch Matt's eye.

Steroline is only going to be used to piss Elena off and get her to realize that she still has feelings for Stefan, thus re-igniting the triangle, which is this show's main premise. Watch! After Stelena reunites, she will be moved over to Enzo. There is a reason he was made a regular.

ReplyDeleteDamon was still totally obsessed with her in Season 1 still. He devoted 150 years of his life to waiting around for the comet to appear again so he could open the tomb and be reunited with her.
ReplyDeleteConsidering how obsessed with Katherine he was I doubt he ever had a stable or healthy relationship in his life. When he found out the truth about Katherine he then moved onto Elena because she looked exactly like Katherine.
So blatant speculation being passed off as fact is the reason Steroline shouldn't happen? Once again: that's preposterous. The writers have something special with Steroline and they've done a marvelous job so far. Of course they could eff it up, but that's just like with any other storyline. I'm enjoying the journey so far and am holding on to hope that they'll do the Stefan and Caroline romance service - which is why they're winning this poll that is all about POTENTIAL.

ReplyDeleteI would actually agree with all of this (not a Damon fan by any means at all) but you've completely disregarded the Stefan end of this commentary. He functions just fine without Katherine or Elena (the Ripper is another matter entirely that we've witnessed him fighting to overcome).

ReplyDeleteOk i agree !- But we all know that the writes just love the hole Stefan/Elena/Damon triangle. And even if they give us a few episodes with Stefan and Caroline later on we will be at square one (Stefan/Elena )again- like every season.

Doesn't anyone else feel like Damon should finally get a girl that hasn't been with his brother or liked his brother first that might actually truly love him and not go back and forth between him and brother. I feel like Damon has much potential and has a good heart and he needs someone who is gonna help him reach that and push back on his crap not cover for him and have a annoying unhealthy relationship with. I love Elena but I have always felt Bonnie was a better choice for Damon. When Damon and Bonnie get together they are always team badass. Them as a couple with be new and the most interesting cause there is nothing better than seeing a relationship go from hate to love. Putting Damon and Bonnie together would be so fun to watch than the same old triangle that doesn't stop. I also feel like this would give both Damon and Bonnie an interesting storyline which they both need and also Bonnie is wasting her time with Jermey
ReplyDeleteBonnie and Damon's friendship was taking shape in S1 & S2, which was why you got the episode which is on youtube with Elena telling Stefan who thought that Damon didn't like Bonnie, that yes he did, in fact he kind of loves her. So even as far back as then they were building on a relationship for Bamon, since even Elena noticed and stated this fact to Stefan. However, what happened was Bamon storyline had to take a backseat to The Originals or more to the point Klaus. Therefore, I believe they are using this opportunity to get it back on track again and what better way to do it then have both Damon and Bonnie stranded somewhere else in a place of safety that Grams secured for Bonnie. A place where Bonnie is going to witness a different side to Damon and come to a new understanding of him. Therefore, by the time Damon and Bonnie return their relationship will have the status it should have had, had they continued along the path they were going way back in S2.

Smith, who wrote the original TVD books 1 to 7 liked both DE and DB, and in the same fashion that Elena didn't want to choose between Damon and Stefan in the books, Damon was going to find himself in a similiar place where he loved not only Elena but Bonnie too. Which L.J is continuing to write now as fan fiction novels on Amazon, a trilogy called Evensong.
You are exactly right, Damon had lots of opportunity to be rid of Bonnie but chose to save her everytime. Which is why I take Elena's words to Stefan also in S2 that Damon infact kind of loves her. Therefore, what we were witnessing was a kind of push pull between Damon and Bonnie. They were setting up Bamon in almost the same fashion they were setting up DE. DE is my no 1 OTP, but I don't mind DB either, because Damon has chemistry with both Elena and Bonnie, plus it will be good for Damon to have someone else along with Elena who has totally faith in him, and Bonnie like in the books makes an excellent choice. Nothing wrong with having a doppelganger and witch fighting in your corner.
