  1. So many outstanding episodes on the list. I actually can't pick any one. Every episode had a wild twist and excellent acting performances

  2. That's why we love Scandal!

  3. At first, I was like "yeah, this one and this one" but then, I remembered the scenes that were in each episode and if I had to choose, I'd have to pick all of them :)

  4. None, this season was awful!

  5. Yeah S3 was awful and just bad writing all around. Episode 3.01, 3.08, and maybe 3.05 were the better ones. The ratings are up, but the quality and substance went out the window for shock and hashtag writing. I'm so sick of those long monologues that Shonda writes and pretty much destroyed most of the characters. I don't feel sorry for Mellie or Jake. Nice try writers, but I have a brain. I still like Liv and Fitz as characters. How can you not? Both have the worst parents ever on tv and Kerry and Tony still have the best chemistry on the show. Too bad the writers are pushing Jake and Mellie on those two. The cast is too big. Jake, Mellie, Charlie, and Quinn all need to leave.

Pretty much any episode that had a Joe Morton speech.

  7. Agreed!! They tried propping Mellie and Jake up by destroying Olivia and Fitz. Especially Fitz in the worst ways possible which was unfair. They tried making Jake and Mellie the victims, but they aren't. Mellie had her chances to leave, but she is destroying her own life by staying and Jake has physically hurt Olivia, threatened her, kill and threatened her friends, belitted and slut shamed her in front of people, lied to her, blamed her for him becoming Dark Command which was a choice he took on his own, then he whined and complained about B-613, then he called it near and dear to his heart, then he complained about it again, then hurt Liv when she took it down. Jake also told off Fitz, but guess what? Fitz offered command to Joke and has saved his life multiple times! Joke is pathetic and he needs to go. The final season was just stupid and I really can't understand why the hell she left with Joke on that plane after everything he has done and she didn't even check on Fitz or say goodbye. This season had too many inconsistencies and things that just did not make sense and the divorce needs to happen because all Shonda is doing is preventing it, with the most stupid reasons and in the most stupid ways, and doing so many repetitive things. It's ridiculous and annoying. All season finales have been the same. Give Olitz a real chance already, and just get back to the good things of Scandal, but with this finale, I'm worried that may not be possible.

  8. Season 3 sucked. Most of the episodes were so bad. Most of the charcaters actions made no sense.

    Unlike seasons 1 & 2, season 3 isn't at all rewatchable.

  9. Mellie as the victim made me cringe. I liked her better when she was the power hunger political animal. Jake is just a useless character period and Scott Foley is a terrible actor. Weak link in the cast. I wish both Mellie and Jake would run off the die together.

  10. Rowan and Mellie speeches are so played out and redundant. Just a lot of hot air. Rowan killed a child and idiots like you still call him the Man. He's a coward and I hope he dies in S4.

    Agreed, overall an awful season!

  12. I liked very much this season, so it was hard to pick the best episodes.

  13. I gave up the show, I thought that was impossible after season 1 and 2. Real disappointing. Even Olivia is no longer the strong, determined woman, instead she cries in every episode and always needs a man.

  14. Definitly not the season finale, it was really boring, for me is 3x10 and 3x17. But I really enjoyed the season as a whole.

  18. I prefer season 1 and 2
    This one sucks

  19. I agree this show started as well written show about solving cases the first season and first half of season 2. But then ever since the ratings were its like the quality of the writing didn't matter anymore and it was only for shock value and.hashtags for twitter. Not to mention I know longer find any of the characters likable. I hate what shonda did to olivias character she was just this strong independent woman in the first season and now its like her character has been dumbed down and not to mention she cries all the time. this show needs to focus more on improving the storytelling rather then making all about shock factor.

The first 20 eps were awesome, and I guess the rest of season 2 was good, but after B613 the show is going downhill. Can B613 just blow up and let the team solve cases again?

  21. The majority of this season was truly terrible. It's like the writers abandoned all common sense in a desperate attempt to shock and awe the audience, that writers room were like a bunch of frat boys combining drugs and alcohol and patting each other other in the back when somebody came up with a more ridiculous plot than the rest. Characterisation was totally substituted for plot, and the only character who had decent writing was the supporting character. Olivia was treated terribly this season, she was sidelined, called a whore, and became the dumbest chick to walk the planet. She got choked by both Jake and Huck, was called a whore several times, and didn't respond to any of those things. She was mute then as she was all season.

At the end of season two, she left Fitz because her Gladiators needed her, then season three had her totally forget that she was supposed to love and be loyal to her Gladiators. The woman who at one time or other who'd rescued all her Gladiators, suddenly didn't seem to give a shit about Huck torturing Quinn, and Quinn falling in with B613. The show had her trying to save Jake's soul, a guy she'd known for two minutes, when it was Quinn's soul that really needed saving. Jake murdered the father of her God-child, threatened to kill her, yet she rode off on a plane with him, leaving all her responsibilities behind. The show did Olivia Pope wrong this season, and there's nobody in the writer's room who loves the character sufficiently to fight for her, so season 4 will see this heretofore political nun screwing both Fitz and Jake, getting called a whore by all the characters, and never saying anything to defend herself because somehow adultery on Scandal is worth than torture, murder, and child-killing...

  22. i agree with every word kendall said no episode was good not one and im not watch season 4 not even going to dvr it this former gladiator is out

  23. Mellie will return as the power hungry political animal she once was. How could she not ? The rape reveal only gave us history about her character, but it doesn't change who she is (JMO). She'll be back to scheming in no time because that is what makes Mellie great to watch.

  24. But as big of a pet as Scott Foley is, the writing for his character is pretty atrocious also. He's made to look like a chump most of the time when it comes to Olivia. And that is why i'm honestly not that bothered that Olivia went off with him. If he was really meant to be taken seriously, they wouldn't have already used him in a finale. Remember 90210 back in the day? Remember Kelly chose neither Brandon or Dylan. You know why? To keep it open and to keep viewers guessing. But with Scandal, Jake has already been used, so what is really next for him? Olivia will be cheating on him with Fitz come season 4 and like season 3, Jake is going to continue looking like a chump. Of course the writers will throw in token scenes of him acting tough with Rowan & Fitz, but with Olivia he will still be the chump that accepts being second choice.

  25. B613 was the worst thing to happen to the show. Somehow a political show about Washingtonian Scandals became The Day of The Jackal, but written by E.L James instead of Frederick Forsyth.

  26. Kudos to your post ! You have brilliantly explained (IMO) what went wrong with Season 3. Let's hope that Season 4 will be a little less about B-613 and refocus on OPA and Olivia regaining some sort of strength.
