  1. I actually thought the episode, was very good, I knew they weren't going to adjust to Surburbia, Cat just couldn't let the cop in her go, the highlight of the episode without a doubt was JT&T, Gabe without a doubt has totattly lost his mind, I'm holding my breath till he gets what's coming to him he's a sick *s***b!!!

  2. I am going to start by apologizing to all the beasties. I know we are trying to be positive but I am sorry This is my personal opinion and I do not expect anyone to agree with. But I feel dissapointed and cheated. I am not going to get into the gory details about season 2. We all know the vision didn't work for whatever reason people want to believe. Even Mark P. knew it which is why he made the announcement on Dec. 12, 2013 that this show was going on hiatus. i honeslty think Mark P likes this show and sees its potential. The showrunner or EP or whatever he is had months to fix what was wrong. He made 216 the "season finale" and got Vincat back together and then ripped them apart again. I thought the last 6 episodes would be about getting the epic love back we had in season 1. I know it is a different season, but it was an epic love story in season 1. An epic love story with a balance of humour, action and drama. That is not, in my opinion, what we are getting. These last 6 episodes are about the downfall of Gabe and how that affects Cat and Vincent. We are not getting the love scenes we got in season 1-the ones that all the beasties fell in love with. This show has gone from that epic love story to an action/drama series with a love story. What made it unique in season 1 was it was actually based on a love story-now it is all about the action and the drama and we see a few snippets of how they feel about each other. I don't expect kissing etc all the time, but some scenes would be nice. EverAfter was a great episode and a great opportunity for beasties to finally see some sweet scenes-what we got was Vincent in his bathrobe, Cat trolling the crime sites and solving a murder and them bickering at each other. But it had to happen because________! We have heard that all year, we had to have this happen so this could happen. Some people say they will take what they can get from this show. That is not good enough for me. We had epic in season 1 and we should be getting that in season 2. I spent a lot of time tweetng, voting, writing, sending cards etc to save this show and the Beasties saved it! We have an amazing cast and crew no doubt and this is not about them. I want that epic love story back-I am tired of waiting. i am tired of saying maybe next time-we went through the destruction of the love story all season and now just because they are together and say they love each is not enough for me. I don't want to go into season 3 thinking it is just like Castle or Bones or Rookie Blue-another action drama with some love scenes. I want Beauty and the Beast! Sorry again for my rant and I appreciate that lots of people are loving this-I won't give up but I don't want to feel cheated any more!.

  3. I agree, and it feels like this episode is leading into S3, with the Fab4 working on "Who Are We" as a team and as couples. Gabe's mention of Reynolds might also indicate more revelations about Catherine's family history with beasts???? This show just gets better and better with every episode

    ReplyDelete
  4. I do agree with you to a certain extinct, we know the epic love is there, with this episode I think it's just quite before the storm that's surely coming, for the Fab Four I belive the s***t is about to hit the fan, keep hanging in there with us:)

  5. I'm totattly with you on that, Gabe is so spiraling out of control!!!

  6. #EverAfter was awesome #BATB episode I didn't think Cat would like Suburbia and both Vincent and Cat love NY. They need the sights and smells of the City and both would have a problem adjusting to a quiet life right now. JT and Tess were great and Gabe is going insane. I think Gabe is turning back into a beast. He doesn't love Cat, but he knows that to get to Vincent he has to get through Cat. Cat better be on her guard as well as Vincent,. Can't wait to see what #Operation Fake Date brings us. The writers are doing a fantastic job - the episodes have been hit out of the ball park. Just so in love with #BATB. Hope after a long wait for the series to come back mid season 2015, we get a full Season 3 and another renewal for a Fourth Season. This show has so many possibilities.

  7. Thanks Brenda, I had a warm, satisfied feeling all of season 1. So far I am still waiting for that to happen in season 2. Yes it is 100 times better than what they gave us 3/4 of season 2 and I have enjoyed the episodes but I still feel I am waiting for that feeling to come back. As I said, I won't give up but really hope it is back in Season 3-

  8. cuteness with vincent and catherine, loved when vincent asked the wife if she had her husband killed and he said " huh i hate it when she's right" lmao, was hoping to see vincent and catherine in bed cuddling like a real married couple, i loved jt being able to find gabe in his own way, and wow gabe has completely lost it, damn and he would actually expose everything and when he mentioned reynolds i guess this is where catherine's ancestors arc begins, i also loved catherine looking at the birds, it had a very fairy tale feel to it

  9. Best part of the episode to me were the moments between JT and Tess. Surprisingly, I'm beginning to enjoy Gabe's lunatic ways. He's completely unhinged if he thinks for a second he can win Cat back.

On the same page with you...I did not like this ep. It was like going nowhere from nowhere. But why? Did they really run out of ideas? I did really expect some nice moments with VinCat in suburbia, instead of running up and down, and being an irritating, nosy neighbor... I actually hated Cat for that. This justice speech was a bit too much for me. V was still playful and funny, a nice husband material :)

And what is still irritating me it is of course Gabe... and what about Gabe's hand, the bruises? Is it not an evidence?

  11. Sendhil makes a great job, so that's part of the magic, and actually, I think he is one of the most congruent characters on the show.

  12. It seems that the writers have still not grasped that captivates in this series!!! IS
the chemical VinCat!! The romance etc. . that sweet fit between the two of them !! That something that
    makes us smile, sigh ...

    As police show
this one is weak, we must admit. This way without
doubts that will lose even more fans. Because without the magic VinCat, without
that "je ne cê quai", which remains in show???? ....

    If it is to
continue in this line, is better finish it (unfortunately) because without this
chemistry, magic, that makes us dream ... the show is weak, very weak. At least
they left us with this remembrance of sweetness that is in our memories.

    It is the
same as in love: With this detract from
the essence of the story, also we (the fans) will forget of this essence and
abandon it (the show). Police Shows, there are many (lot of them) and better.

  14. You're spot on. I always try to see a funny side in every episode but I miss the purpose of such a dumb parody making joke of Babt characters at this point of the season. A totally disconnected , un-necessary , out of context romance-killer episode adding nothing useful or good to S2 narrative except a sense of frustration about writers inconsistency and sort of disillusion about VinCat future (really depressing) as a couple. I understand the honeymoon phase is unrealistic and any "wow" scene have been definitively banned from Vincat new Victorian-style life but seriously , I didn't expect such a deadly boring old married couple having no chemistry, very little to say , no happy moments to share, living and maybe sleeping in different rooms, watching TV in a robe, drinking beer , complaining and whining all the time about the good old days in the city ,as soon as they closed the door on their new life.I'm sorry but the whole episode sucked, Vincat sucked . BIG TIME. The jokes were not even smart. The episode was a poor filler and so boring that I quickly lost any interest in it. Vincent looked like an idiot , a fish out of water (can you blame him ? ) and what about Catherine ? a total contradiction between what she says and what she really wants. As usual. They got on my nerves so many times that at the end of the episode I was like "damn....are they still together ?" Their short-term pathetic cohabitation proved they are NOT meant to be. Not in this life. Their no-so-epic love is limited to a very small area : a rooftop. Btw she loves her job and NYC much more than she loves V. Brutally honest , If I were Vincent I would drop her back to psycho-Gabe , her lovely Biodad, her wonderful life in the city with all my best wishes. Take care Catherine. GoodBye.
JT&T were the only bright spot but not enough to save the day and I don't really care about
Gabe. A sad ending for Babt and a waste of time. Really, I have had enough of S2 writers
causing damages to my once-beloved show . I have had enough of S2 crap.

  16. I'm disappointed.I expected a connection with end episódio 2x19, when Vincent and Catherine seemed so eager to love. Sorry, but they looked like brothers in that house, where we could have lovely romance scenes.

Hi there, at this point, don't think there will be anything like Season 1, for some reason changing from one showrunner to another changed the tone for the show. We wont have bed scenes like we have in Season 1, that was their first time they wont give it back not same showrunner or producers!
From now on it will be, drama, action & the epic love there! So we enjoy what we get I guess!

  18. Cat, has and always will be about saving Vincent, for the first part of season one she had completely lost herself, and when she went through that debacle with Gabe, she no longer knew herself, and know she's found herself again, as V said that's the reason he feel in love with her, the epic love is still there, she stands for the injustice and the wrong done to others, I belive things are going to get better, when they finally take Gabe down, just my take on it:)

  19. I had to watch Ever After twice for me to like it and in my book that says a lot. If an episode is
good, I will watch the second time immediately because I love it so much. With this episode it was more “Huh? Did I miss something?” – rewind and watch again. I had such high hopes and was really disappointed the first time around. This is a couple who have not really had a chance to re-connect and try to make sense of their reality now since they back got together. I did not see any quality time spent in order to re-connect and I am not talking about love scenes. In S1 they talked all the time – we knew what they felt about things now we have to guess. Am I being a girl to expect emotional connection at least? The females I know talk about their feelings and situations to death especially with the man they love. Cat must be a different species from the rest of us lol! I am quite surprised that a woman writer came up with something this generic and sterile. It was just awkward and unnatural – ‘normal’ does not sit well on our VinCat.

Anyhooo, on second viewing this episode grew on me. I set my expectations aside and just watched episode with fresh eyes. I found it funny and discovered that these two do love each other unconditionally. Vincent left the city because Cat wanted to try normal but he knew that was not who she was and was willing to let her try it anyway. Also, Cat is a really nosy and annoying neighbor!!! As an aside, the fact that I had to set my expectations aside bothers me a little.

A fun episode that allowed us to breathe a bit before things kick off next week. It did not give us
any new insights or add anything to the story but I will still be watching next week because I love this show!

  20. From now on it will be drama and action . Period. There's nothing epic in their
relationship . I'm not even sure they actually have a relationship.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I guess for me that is my point. This is suppose to be an out of t his world, fairy tale, against all odds epic love story. It was in Season 1 and it doesn't have to have the same scenes to do that. We already know from season 1 who these two are and what they both stand for. The premise of S02 was to build characters. That didn't happen other than Gabe. They destroyed who Vincent and Cat each were to build them back up to who they were in the first place. We should not be settling for what we get. There is awesome talent in that writers' room. Many from last year and some good new ones. It doesn't matter what happens with these two, it should be epic every episode and that is what we should be taking away from it. These two right now are just two people in New York in a relationship. There is no pizazz other than they are running from the law. To me it seems like clearing Vincent, finding out more about Gabe is a secondary theme to finding out what kind of a beast Gabe really is and the mythology we heard about all season one episode? Ever After was funny-I loved the JT/Tess scenes but the whole theme of why they went in the first place was totally lost. They didn't go to see if they could survive in suburbia, they went to lay low and get the heat to cool down and regroup. They didn't go so Cat could involve herself in a murder because we needed to know what her normal is. We already know that-from season 1. Regurgitating the things we know from season 1, is not what we should be getting. I believe the attraction of this show is the difference between this and all the other action dramas. We are losing the essence of that uniqueness by making the action drama more important. I don't want run of the mill romance scenes. The shower scene was great-gave me that feeling for a brief second them Gabe! It is what it is this season, I know that but I don't want to wait months to have this show come back and not have that epic feeling back-we need the showrunner to know NOW=bring back the show we fell in love with. It can be done and be a new season-I feel like we have to fight even harder in season 3-we want a season 4 and syndication-BUT we need our fairy tale romance back-that is what brings in the BEASTIES-a story that makes our hearts melt, our hot flashes come back, a fairy tale we all dream about-

    ReplyDelete
  22. I totally agree with you,Maureen!!! I think like you! But I'll keep fighting because the CW and their carelessness will not make me give up VinCat and BATB!

    ReplyDelete
  23. I agree. This episode just seemed so random for where we are at in the show. Instead of moving the story forward, it reiterated what we already knew-that these two will never be a normal couple and lead a normal life and in the process Cat involves herself in a murder. Isn't Cat running from the law too-she is associating with a known "criminal" and instead of laying low, Vincent does what he did in S01 with the messenger and throw him into the windshield and kills him. So will that case just die then? two episodes left and as cute and funny as some of the scenes were, is cute what we want? Great to see JT/Tess-can't believe we have to put up with that either-not even seeing them in some episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Thanks and That is why I am being honest-because we all want to fight for this show and will never give up and I think we deserve to be honoured for that and deserve better. We have amazing cast and crew and chemistry AND amazing fans who stop at nothing to keep this show on the air. It is time they REALLY started listening to us. That to me is another difference between S01 and SO2-I felt the writers and Sherri and Jenn listened to us-they gave us what we wanted and it did not hurt the show-this year has felt like screw you fans, it doesn't matter what you do for the show, I am going to do whatever I want and it doesn't matter how many times you comment, how many times you say don't go there-this is my vision and I am sticking to it!

    ReplyDelete
  25. To be honest I didn't feel there was too much talent in the writing room this season. There was a bunch of mediocre story-tellers who gave us a few good episodes and a lot of so-so/crap ones. Looking back at season 2 I just recall "Kidnapped - Hothead and Beast is the New black " 3 out of 20. Still I recall almost every episode of season 1. Odd , isnt' it ?

    ReplyDelete
  26. At first I thought maybe I am expecting to much and can't let go of S01 but I have watched TV for many years and ya I can expect it to be as epic as S01. I agree I remember every episode of S01 but only.handful of S02 and have only.re watched a handful. I love to read and BatB S01 was like my favorite book I re read but S02 I put on the shelf to collect dust and for something in have invested a lot of time and money I want more!

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'll watch again and who know if I change a little my opinion as you :)

    ReplyDelete
  28. This was another awesome episode. NY is Catherine's and Vincent's normal, it's part of who they are and why they fell in love. That chaos is the epic love of Vincent and Catherine, the willingness to fight for each other and for them everyday against all odds. Epic is moving heaven and earth to be together and that's what they do best. They are each other's normal, that's all they really need. It wouldn't be epic if there was no chaos in their lives. The motto is "How brave is your love?...what would you do and how far would you go to protect it? It's what Vincent and Catherine have always done...save each other. Season 2 has been a fantastic ride for me, I love it!! That chemistry between VinCat is always there, even in the most subtle moments. I can't wait for "Operation Fake Date", you know Catherine won't let anything happen to Vincent. I'm so happy we got season 3!!

    ReplyDelete
  29. You know I didn't love this episode but you make valid points on how unsettled Cat was in the burbs. Perhaps it was too subtle and quiet coming off 3 action packed eps that some of us were disorientated like Cat ;p. so missed the underlying finer points of this ep. I agree with what you said on VinCat's normal not being in a small town. This on the surface idyllic lifestyle which maybe they dreamt of having is not meant for them at all. On that level this ep succeeded in showing that. They are city people and their M.O is always to help others even if it means putting themselves in danger. I do love the sweet ending ~ that Vincent accepts Catherine as she is. THAT is the VinCat connection that I adore and never get tired of. I love ALL of Season 2 except for the Gabe arc with Cat which dragged on too long trying to make him out to be a reformed character and I never bought his pretentious boyscout act. Gabe is the true beast in its vilest form and I can't wait to hopefully see the last of him by the finale.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Okay I am not going to disagree with anything. You made some great points. The only thing I will say is that we are at the end of this season. IMO we defined what their normal was in season 1. We know that is being with each other and getting justice and saving other people. We spent 15 episodes of hell this season, and we had 6 episodes to get the love story back on -copying those themes like what is normal for VINCAT is redundant. The JT/Tess aspects were right on as to what you say because the real JT and Tess were missing most of season 2. We needed to see JT on his own solving things although we have always seen the part JT plays over and above Vincent best friend and savior. It may be re-defining and re-inforcing what is normal for these two but it still doesn't mean it has brought back that epic feeling. There is too much going on in every episode for that to really shine through-but my opinion-just sayin! always love reading your take on things.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Okay I have too much time on my hands right now. I am at work alone and bored but I guess the other thing that threw me off about this episode is that what was the purpose in going to Suburbia in the first place? It wasn't to define normal it was to lay low and get out of the fire so to speak and regroup-but that changed throughout the episode so it was like it started in one direction and moved to another with not a lot of continuity. For the sake of keeping them safe, could they not have just been there together and toughed it out and worked on solving how to exonerate Vincent=that would have moved the story forward IMO-instead they switched it to be about being normal and yet another mystery to solve that was totally random for the story.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Merveilleux. J'aime cette serie et jay et kristin deux acteurs charismatique.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Different points of view are always interesting .
I like Catherine "sense of justice" but I don't like it when it come at Vincent expenses. How can I believe she was ready to risk Vincent life and throw everything up in the air just to prove she's the best cop in town ? Com'on..I understand it was time for Catherine to have a "Cat-centric" episode but it came too late in the season and it was so poorly written and executed ( as anything related to her character ) that she came out like a poor creepy desperate housewife who always need a "mission" to feel alive. Btw the power of attraction was lack lustre for Vincent the "normal" guy : she lost any interest in him and in their relationship in a heartbeat . I'm sorry but I don' buy it . She spent 3/4 of the season in wanting a normal life with Gabe but she's unwilling to accept a normal life with Vincent unless it's in NYC downtown ? Seriously this leaves Vincent with something to think about...

    ReplyDelete
  34. I think exactly the same!!

    ReplyDelete
  35. I love how we see the same episode and have such vastly different view points. I disagree a little with what you said. Cat never lost any interest in Vincent. They were in the 'burbs for just a day and she was still adjusting to this new life. She is still very much in cop mode and that takes a while to go away - certainly not overnight. We really need to cut her some slack here.
Helping people and fighting for justice defines who Cat is. Vincent knows that and understands that about her so it stands to reason he would not be mad at her for blowing their cover. She has always gone over and beyond for Vincent - she will do anything for him but she will not sit by when an injustice is being perpetrated.
I think the reason she wanted a normal life with Gabe was because she had gone through so much with Vincent, been hurt and wanted someone she would not love as much in order to protect herself. She wanted a very different experience from the one she had with Vincent. She would have been bored with Gabe eventually.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I do believe most of the points raised above are valid. The fans wanted more from the "married" couple in suburbia, especially the way Catherine was treating Vincent, she was not exactly his "bliss"

    ReplyDelete
  37. Actually she didn't even try to adjust to the new life. Not for one second. She was not in it, never. I miss the purpose of the whole episode.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Look! I agree with you. I am repeating this several times irritated as producers and writers and creators of the show were able to modify BATB making it any series. BATB is about love and should run on top of that, on top of that impossible love, suffering, and struggle to overcome the barriers that want to move on, whatever the cost. However BATB be doing a series any police. Where is the love? Where's the passion? and especially where did the element si-fi fantasy? That bothers me and makes me sad, because as you've fought, I did everything to get help BATB 3 season. What do we get it? episodes completely clueless and weak dialogue. This last episode was to take seriously, was too irritating. Like you, I support and I hope that at some point BATB again be belissima series that was the first season.

    ReplyDelete
  39. I do completely, agree with you and all the other fans, I did expect more from the ideal setup in the burbs, the writers did pick the find time for Cat to regain herself (totattly sarcastic) I do wish she had shown just a tad more affection for Vincent, while she had him all to herself:-)

    ReplyDelete
  40. The take away from this episode is that stuff happens (chaos), their normal is just being with each other and overcoming all the chaos in their lives together.

    ReplyDelete
  41. A theme we have seen over and over and over again in the last 42 episodes of this couple since they met. We know what normal is for this couple-we have lived it for two seasons. I feel like this is almost an insult to the Beasties. We don't need to be patronized by giving us episodes that have no relevance to what is happening. We know Cat is a kick ass cop and has this sometimes fuzzy sense of justice and we know Vincent is a beast with a desire to protect and save those around him. " Crazy stuff happens and all I want to do is share it with you , figure it out with you.. My normal is when I am with you". But glad you were able to take something away from this episode. There were lots of great parts to it but really didn't do anything for the story or arc right now, IMO

    ReplyDelete
  42. This ep was so poorly written just like all the other eps of this series. It was awful. Cat deliberately threw away their witness protection program just because she hated being away from the city. And there was no romance going on in that house. She hated every second she was there.

The psycho Gabe story has never worked for me. They spent so much time building him up as a good guy and then do an unbelievable 180 and all of sudden he's psycho guy.

I can't even buy Tess and JT as a couple when all they ever do is talk about Cat and Vincent.

And I'm sick of Vincent being on the run. Enough already.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thank you Maureen for replying to my comment, I enjoy reading different views. IMO, Gabe is just part of the chaos in their lives and that is what his arc represents to me. I understand that a lot of Beasties are disappointed. For me, this theme is the story of Beauty and the Beast and imo, the writers and show runners are staying true to this. The romance is their between them, even in the most subtle moments and through their interactions with each other. The chemistry between Jay Ryan and Kristin Kreuk is so amazing, that when they were apart for half of the season, it never felt to me like they were really apart, the romance was always and still is there for me between them because their body language has always been amazing to me as well.

    ReplyDelete
  44. I definitely agree that though we may not be seeing the passionate scenes we are craving the chemistry between the two actors makes it bearable. For me, the theme of Beauty and the Beast is a story about loving someone so much and accepting them for who they are inside, and nothing will ever shake that love. This whole season, for me has been about breaking that love down, and then trying to build it back up to what it was, only stronger. I don't feel that the writers succeeded in doing that-they are back together and yes we can see the love between them but, for me, there is something missing. the whole premise of season 2 was to amp things up which they did with so many things but they haven't done that with the love-it is mundane- it doesn't feel fairy tale-ish anymore. It doesn't feel as strong as the love they had in season 1 and as they had to fall in love all over again-to me it should be even more epic!

    ReplyDelete
  45. What do you mean by Vincent being on the run??, would you prefer he would be hiding like he was in season 1??, because he definitely has to be in trouble, otherwise the show would lose sense.

    ReplyDelete
  46. I agree with you about loving someone so much and accepting them for who they are inside and never letting anything ever shake that love. Catherine defined herself through Vincent in season 1 because he saved her and she felt like she owed him. I think this season was about Catherine being defined through her own choices and Vincent through his as well and the only way the writers felt they could do that was to seperate them for half of season 2. Them falling in love all over again was about that unconditional love, accepting each other for who they are inside and never letting anything shake that love. Gabe is part of the chaos, that together they can overcome. There is always going to be someone or something trying to keep them apart, Vincent and Catherine loving each other unconditionally, standing together to fight is epic imo.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Maureen, I forgot to mention that this season allowed Jay Ryan to prove just how amazing and awesome he really is. He played a completely different beast to what he was in season 1, convincing me he redeemed himself. He is perfection and that's what I love most about this season. Thank you for conversing with me.

    ReplyDelete
  48. It was just one day so we can't expect a complete 180. In time maybe...I actually envy people who can adjust to a complete change in their norm overnight. Cat just cannot do 'quiet' so I get it. However, I do see where you are coming from about the point of the episods. Too many missed moments and opportunities but it was still pretty solid overall!

  49. I am definitely 100% in agreement with you on that. After becoming obsessed, sometimes unnaturally (lol) with Beauty and the Beast, I watched Go Girls and Sea Patrol. Jay Ryan has grown so much as an actor! I don't watch many other CW shows but do watch some and he by far surpasses anyone else on the CW, IMO. In fact he surpasses almost anyone on any of the networks. He has had to do a complete turn around in who he played in Season 1 and 2 and both these actors, Jay an Kristin are what made me keep watching, even though I was not in agreement with the material they were working with. Thanks for reminding me about that!

  50. It was't really that I can't accept Gabe as being part of the chaos. I feel even though this is a new season, there was a winning combination of JR, KK, AB and NL. Gabe came along the last part of SO1 and he made a great antagonist. Then the combination changed in S02 to it being Gabe as the one who was going to save the day and AB and NL totally lost who they were. In my experience in the TV world, changing those things don't typically succeed and while people may have liked the theme, etc those changes did not work for the show as a whole and the ratings, etc proved that, and the comments. Fans and the network knew it wasn't working and fans of BATB have always been vocal. We fight tooth and nail for the show but we also let our feeling known. Now we are at the last few episodes and though we are getting that winning combinatoin back now, we still see Gabe as being the main theme of these last 6 episodes. He has almost had more screen time than JR and KK, 100 times more screen time that AB or NL almost put together this season. That hasn't worked for me.So I see your point and your perception about the season, but I go with my gut and my gut did not like this season at all. I was upset most of the season and all the other shows I watch in all the years I have watched TV have never made me feel like that-one's hour of entertainment each week should not make you feel like that IMO. We lost over half our viewers, as per the ratings, and I know ratings are not everything but it is a measure. Now my gut is not feeling like that but as I said, it isn't feeling like it did in Season 1 etiher. It doesn't have to be season 1 all over again, though they are doing a pretty good job of trying to repeat it in some ways, but it can still give me that feeling I had in season 1 and it isn't and it sounds like from twitter and reviews etc it is not doing it for many other beasties either. I am sorry but I really feel like this fandom deserves better than that after we do so much for this show. And thanks for conversing with me and accepting my opinion. I think many Beasties are scared to be honest because they think they are betraying their show and it is going to make a difference in who watches, but in my view it is better to express your opinion than just quietly disappear.

  51. I completely understand you and respect your opinion! We are really angry about many things! A big hug, Maureen!

  52. I hear what you are saying Maureen and agree with you to an extent. In my head this is how I make sense of season 1 and season 2 to myself; Vincent, although he can physically transform into a beast because of the military experiment, in his soul, he is not the beast and never really was in the sense that before the military experiment, his whole life was about saving people because he was a doctor which makes my perception of him more human than beast. Gabe on the other hand was an orphan and experimented on from childhood, so I have always perceived Gabe as a beast in his soul much more than physically because he was a beast first before he grew up and became an ADA. This analysis in my mind is the story that the writers have been trying to tell us in season 1 and season 2 and this why for me, his character arc this season works, but this is just MO.

  53. Thanks so much! It is not always easy to be honest as some people think it is the reason that the show has struggled! IMO it is the honest opinions and the saying hold up here, this isn't right that makes things better. We just have to get the showrunner or EP or whatever Brad Kerns is to listen.

  54. At the start of season 1 I agree with you, that Catherine defined herself through the choices of other people, but once she found Vincent and their relationship developed romantically, she defined herself for the rest of season 1 through him. I feel that with season 2, that the writers did accomplish what they set out to do this season, which was for Catherine and Vincent both to be defined each by their own choices, not by each others' or the choices of other people. The falling in love all over again for me wasn't missed this season. Vincent has always been more human than beast in his soul, so his choice to be more beast for the first half of season 2 stems from feeling hurt and deceived by people he trusted. Catherine has always been Vincent's salvation, but because of the hurt and deception he lost sight of that. The episode titled "Held Hostage", allowed them to start realizing why they fell in love with each other in the first place. Catherine stops Vincent from losing himself, she truly is his "gem" and Vincent understands her like no one else, this is the core of their relationship in Beauty and the Beast. Gabe has always been a beast in his soul more so than physically because he was experimented on from his childhood which allowed over time, the resentment and anger he has always felt, finally come to light. I think this is the take away that the writers want for us in season 2. All of Gabe's anger and resentment is going to force him to become unhinged because he's had along time to let it fester within him and eventually being the cause of his own self destruction, that's why his character through season 1 and season 2 have made sense to me. I think that this was the point the writers wanted to make with the direction of season 1 and season 2, but this is just MO.

  55. This show has long already lost sense. I would prefer for him to hunt down other shapeshifters and give more meaning to this show.

  56. Agree to disagree. Held Hostage was the beginning of Catherine romantic relationship with Gabe , whereas Vincent was happily socializing with She-Beast . Writers dragged the Gaberine disaster for so long that there was no time left for a "lets' fall in love again" phase between Vincent and Catherine. They just put them back together . At the beginning of an episode she was in love with Gabe , at the end of the same episode she was in love Vincent . She didn't have one single moment to breath ALONE . She was never given an opportunity to choose. Not in season 2. Not for me.

Exactly, I think this season was all over the place, and I blame it a lot on the writers, I watch lot of tv for many years then stop for European series, and came back to USA tv when I found BATB now Im starting to watch other tv shows in cable tv. And BATB writing seems so amateurish compared to other shows, that sometimes I understand the hate on the show from other fandoms. Given the fact that these writers had the unbelievable chemistry of these two actors, the epic love story they could have done much more but instead just played it safe!!!!! And its not that I play the we get what they give us. But at this point, I don't think there is turn back. Im just hoping these new season they could make something much more out of these 13 new episodes. But again Im just hoping for best!

  58. Imagine this scene

"In the suburb VinCat are dawning in bed in each other's arms, Cat still sleeps and Vincent leaves the bed very quit. Vincent prepares a tray with breakfast without forget a red rose in the tray. Vincent enters into the room and finds Cat in bed with the lap top open on her lap……."
And the whole last scene in the kitchen could be happened in the bed room without changing the time line
or the sequence of the writer for the episode and would give to the ep a romantic touch that we the fans are longing.
