  1. I usually find the smaller more personal scenes to be better than the big epic marquee moments, but in this episode the titular scene was just so, so awesome!

Seeing Oberyn take out a decade of anger and hatred on Tywin Lannister via his proxy enforcer The Mountain was just so powerful. Then that quick twist of fate was more than just a punch to Oberyn's jaw... it was a punch to this viewer's gut!

  2. Oberyn vs The Mountain and Jorah's boot from Mereen and Dany's group. Dany kicking out Jorah will end up biting her and will start the beginning of her downfall.

  3. Viper vs The Mountain
    Jorah getting banished
Sansa's finally starting to kick some ass!

  4. Daenerys is one of my favorites. It will be sad to see her fall.

When are the dragons growing up and flying to King's Landing?I am guessing its going to be really long journey now!

  5. Oberyn vs the Mountain and Arya arriving toward the Bloody Gate. I love how she starts laughing when she learns her aunt has died !

maybe because she was aware that she was crazy.

  7. There were so many great scenes last night! I would've picked the fight scene between The Mountain and The Viper, but it left me with a really bad taste in my mouth. GoT did it again. :-/

  8. How jorah begged in front of the queen and sansa evolving ....the last fight was just icing on the cake

Really loves Sansa, the actress adds so much dimension and likability to her its hard not to like her and see her growth. While I did love the fight scene... I like Oberyn more, I can't even wait the end of the fight it's so harsh. I hope they follow the books in terms of The Mountain.

  10. I think I'm beginning to understand at least in part of the beetle monologue as it happened at the end of the fight. Obyren was the beetle being crushed by the rock that is the mountain and Tyrion is a beetle himself crushed under his family's oppressive thumb now sentenced to death. I like when that happens cause it gives me new appreciation for scenes that are otherwise bizarre if entertaining.

  11. Haven't read the books but she has a downfall? That's news to me. And I'm curious now muhahaha >:)

  12. As much as I loved the duel I'm going to go with Sansa on this one.

Her scenes in this episode were absolutely fantastic and Sophie acted the hell out of them. When she came out in that sexy new dress and the stunning light, wow! Just wow! Really excited for the Sansa storyline from here on out since it's all new to everyone :P

  13. There are plenty of non book readers here please try to refrain from spoilers. If you must have some consideration and and put a warning before you put out the spoiler.... :) And yes,I know what site i'm on!

  14. This is hard. Its between Tyrion and the Beetles, Oberyn and The Mountain and Sansa.

  15. Honestly, I don't think I've appreciated Sophie's acting quite as much as I should have before yesterday's episode. Girl can act. And thank god she plays Sansa, because she brings to the role what the character needs: the dashing beauty, of course, and the quiet relentlessness.

But, yeah, favorite scene gotta be the last one. Tyrion's face, poor thing. He went from being blissful to absolutely miserable in just 2 minutes.

  16. I actually haven't read the book so that was just speculation and theories. Sorry anyway though!

  17. Ah! After Oberyn and Tyrion's fight and outcome i couldn't take another downfall. Not yet,its too soon,lol...Thanks!

  18. Or because she knows that The Hound is fucked again.

  19. The battle for sure, and then the small moment with Tyrion/Jamie in the cell stood out for me

  20. I haven't read the books either. But many were speculating on other websites :(

  21. Arya's laugh in Bloody Gate was truly awesome too

  22. I find that usually when there is specific 'speculation' going on it stems from a leak from a book reader, that's why i don't go anywhere else to read other peoples comments. That's why i love Spoiler it isn't one of those other sites!

The fight was pretty fantastic. Minus the last minute which I could not look at.
    Also great: Sansa's confession & Arya's reaction.

  24. everybody has their downfall in game of thrones, even cersei will have her, i know this because any talented author and/or tv show runner could not have 5, 6 seasons of this woman and her arrogant smile winning all the time she has to lose!

  25. i truly hope so too!

  26. The final fight scene was breathtaking but I also found Tyrion's monologue/conversation with Jaime mesmerizing. Dinklage is just so good.

  27. Her dragon is the biggest of the 3, but not big enough to be of any use in a real fight. The other two (that are not hers since she can't claim all of them) were up until recently locked and chained up, so they are quite smaller because of that. It should be years if not a couple of decades before they could stand against an army. So, yeah it's gonna be a very long journey.

  28. I really enjoyed the beetle scene. I realize it might have put some people off, but the broader point that was made was worth it.

Holy foreshadowing, Littlefinger! I'll say no more, but those who know, know how obvious it was.

Wow. I knew what was coming with the fight. I knew it was going to be devastating, and even so, I was as shocked as I was when I read it. You saw that Oberyn was in control, quite handily, yet he overplayed his hand. But.... He got the confession, even though he died in the process, and they don't call him The Red Viper for nothing ;-)

  29. I think she stay with him as well to keep learning how to play the game, I just worry how far she'll have to go to appease his obsession cuz that could get really icky really quickly especially considering both her age and LF basically caused the whole damn thing with so many of her family members dying as result in the first place! But it's entertaining and they are only fictional characters so whatever, bring it on, lol.

  30. Ohhhhhh! I was so rooting for Dany!
George RR Martin doesnt leave any character doesnt he? -_-

  31. She still has her dragon which is quite ferocious, and she may be getting a new army soon, so there's no telling of what it's going to happen. Plus the other too are roaming around Meeren as it stands. I doubt though they can be tamed or even ridden by her any time soon. But you are right, he doesn't. Even the 3 main characters of the series have their share of tragedy/pain and bad luck.

  32. I have never really liked Sansa, not in the books, not in the series. Sansa is a bit more interesting on screen, but still did not catch my interest. But there has to be a first time for everything. Sansa finally got how the game is played in tonights episode, and I really enjoyed watching her scene.

The ending scene was horrible ofcourse, but very well done.

  33. I am not touchy, but my hands just flew up to cover my face, once the mountain got on top. Yuck!

    ReplyDelete
  34. Totally agree. Sansa isn't very interesting. So far she's be the one who her head into the clouds. The one who went against her family (both Arya and Ned) because she wanted to marry the crown Prince and have his babies. And for her stupidity she's become the victim later on.

At this point (perhaps a bit faster that it should), she's starting to become more interesting and darker. It was always going to happen since one of the Starks has be competent eventually at playing the game. And she's the best candidate for that (the others are on a different path) since she's the one who resembles Cat the most. It looks though things are progressing way too fast. That kinda looked to me like Sansa from WOW.

She's still my least favorite Stark, but it wouldn't be a bad thing to finally give Littlefinger his own for everything he's done and take control of the Vale (she has to claim something and that will never be Winterfell.). How ironic would that be for him.

The ending scene was as horrible as both revelations about Sansa and Arya. As if the guards would let the hound and her walk away after saying outright who she really was. The lords of the Vale won't betray Sansa for sure, unless it happens in the next book, and it is a good thing everyone is one the same page about hating the damn Lannisters, but still don't see why it happened so early.

  35. You are right, it seems early to me aswell, but I´m quite happy with it. I hope it is gonna be a slow process for Sansa though. Her character development has been very slow, despite all the horrible things that happend to her, and it would feel out of place if she all of a sudden took a huge jump.

She is also my least favorite Stark, along with Catelyn. The series have managed to make her a bit more likable, thanks to some good acting.

I love Littlefingers character and usually enjoy his scenes, so I´m looking forward to seeing where the writers are taking their story.
