  1. This is not from last pilot season, but from 2013. Bit late to air a promo.

  2. As stated, it is being released on Hulu next week, hence the promo (which was released by WIGS)

  5. Too bad it didn't get a chance. Looks interesting. But it should have been a movie, not a show.

  7. Looks alright but not FOX material. I can see why they passed on it.

It doesn't look too bad, had it been a CW pilot, it would've gone series.

  11. Are we sure she'll be in Freakshow?

  12. Well, that would've been my first FOX show.
Never watched anything on it, though I tried New Girl but meh.

  13. Looks interesting, it'd be cool if another network picked it up.

I've read the trilogy, and as much as I liked the first book I found the series as a whole quite dissapointing, specially the last book.

I love the books but I'm glad this wasn't picked up because the two lead actors suck and they pretty much erased the most important friendship. Also the pilot was going to cover the entire first book which was ridiculous.

  17. I dont think the show would work as a 22 episode a season show, but the writers could have done one season one book. Assuming that the books would not have enough material for 10 full episodes, the writers would have had to expand on story lines or add story lines to fill 10-13 episodes and the network would probably not be happy with a show that would only last 3 seasons but it could be done that way.

  18. I think it's like the Bachelor but dystopian, in the future.

  19. It looks like a film trailer more than a TV promo.

  21. The Slection is a series of books (three books) this is the oficial sinopsis for the books. "For thirty-five girls, the Selection is the chance of a lifetime. The opportunity to escape the life laid out for them since birth. To be swept up in a world of glittering gowns and priceless jewels. To live in the palace and compete for the heart of the gorgeous Prince Maxon.

But for America Singer, being Selected is a nightmare. It means turning her back on her secret love with Aspen, who is a caste below her. Leaving her home to enter a fierce competition for a crown she doesn't want. Living in a palace that is constantly threatened by violent rebel attacks.

Then America meets Prince Maxon. Gradually, she starts to question all the plans she's made for herself- and realizes that the life she's always dreamed of may not compare to a future she never imagined."

  25. Probably through artificial insemination.

  26. This would have worked better as a movie.

  27. I knew about Jessica, Sarah, Kathy, Angela and Evan but I didn't think she was supposed to be in Freakshow. Thanks!

Interesting that we got to see the promo, this almost never happens.
This looks like a CW show with a budget

  29. People are assigned a partner with whom they are required to reproduce at least once. Since adults are 'cured' of Deliria/Love the partners are kind to each other but don't actually love each other (they can't).

Parents raise their children and do everything that is required for parents, but they don't actually love their childeren. Some parents do love their childeren though (and do things that aren't necessary for raising a child like playing games with them) but they have to keep it a secret because they could get arrested. Our main character's mother actually raised her with love and was then sentenced to death when it was discovered.

  30. The pilot was an adaptation of the whole first book. So my guess is the actually season would have loosly followed the plot of book 2 and 3 and subsequent seasons would have new stories.

  31. I would love for them to do this with the The Selection pilots!
