  2. Makes sense really. Two people, both "stranded" in a time other than their own. Both clinging to a possibly lost cause of returning to the time, and loved ones they knew. And in all honesty, they can't both get back to where they belong. If the timeline is restored in such a way that fits Kiera's history, then Brad either ceases to exist, or his life turns out very different (no wars, no militias etc). And the same could very much be true for Kiera, if Brad's future becomes a reality (which it's headed towards at current).

Going by the way it worked in Back to the Future, if Kiera somehow succeeds in traveling into the future, she'd end up in a future based on the current timeline (i.e Brad's future). In order for her to return to her time, drastic changes need to be done in the present, for things to remain as they were in 2077.

  4. As we've seen characters do not cease to exist as a result of changes to the timeline as regardless of whether or not the person will be born - the person in question travelled to the present from an alternate timeline thus creating the new one upon arrival (I think that makes sense - what a headache)

The time travel premise the writers are working with would seem to suggest alternate universes and the multiple worlds theory (i.e. for every action an infinite number of reactions is possible)

Also, from his age it would seem that Brad will have existed in all the timelines we've seen.

And yes - if Kiera returns to 2077 it will be a very different 2077 based on what is currently happening and most likely create a completely new timeline yet again from her even going there in the first place.

Now they are phasing out the cop procedural element to the show and really going balls to the walls with the sci fi mythology, I'm excited to see what they do with season four should it be renewed. Hopefully it won't run out of steam idea wise as in all fairness next weeks episode could easily serve as a series finale all together.

  5. Well, if Kiera returns to 2077 while 2014 is in it's current state, she will see a vastly different 2077 than the one she is familiar with. One where it's possible, her future family no longer exists (due to whatever circumstances involving the corporation wars/people rising up etc). It would not be a "new timeline" for her, as it would simply be a continuation of the way things currently are.

If on the other hand, she would travel backwards again, say, before the "other Alec" (Scar Alec/Our Alec, whatever you wanna call him), arrives and manages to kill him off. Then anything that happened following the revelation of Two Alecs, Two Kieras will never have happened, and the current "Corporate Alec" would continue on his less sinister, kinder path that Our Alec is/was on.

TL;DR: Traveling back in time, creates a new timeline based on changes done in that time period. :)

  6. Yes, but if Kiera travels to the 2077 future of 2014 and makes any changes that then affect the future further down the line then it would of course be a new timeline.

Any person who travels to a point whether it be past or future would automatically cause a split in the timelines as their presence there would affect the following course of history.

From what we know of previous episodes, some form of the time travel has happened before. As old Alec mentioned to Kagame about the conversation he had with Kagame in the Liber8 house is s1. It's just a case that each time the loop repeats itself certain factors change.

I'm giving myself a headache here to be honest so apologies if this is confusing. I've been trying to understand the mechanics of the rules the show has set for timetravel but there's too many open loops really.

One thing I don't get is how each person is able to return to the same timeline as one another at different times even though we've seen that causing changes causes the timeline to diverge.

  7. it still surprises me that kellogg didn't disappear when his grandmother died

  8. It did for me initially but now it's been shown that timelines "fracture" so it makes logical sense.

  9. Looks like alec is holding the time device in one hand and a piece from a another possible 3rd time device

  10. Why Kiera and Brad argh, / because like in any other show there is always the traditional love triangle. The consequence is I feel sorry for Carlos character who is so emply and sad this season, almost useless. For me, this is the worse way to keep the audience attention by delaying the relationship the writers depicted since the show started, hoping people will keep watching because they are rooting for a couple to exist. I was hoping for the none blackmailing traditional love triangle. Apparently I was wrong.

  11. I for one am not rooting for Carlos and Kiera to ever get together. I hate that idea. I never knew that anyone wanted those two together. I don't even see any triangle happening. There is nothing but friendship between Carlos and Kiera.

You're not wrong that there is a very strange slice. It can also be seen in the promo for the final episode of the season. I have two views: Alec created this or it's a piece from the travelers device.

The question of interest to me is less about who had it, but what it will do. The device we know requires a power source structure that is hard to make. Maybe this slice is or at least will act like that power source.

It could be that and maybe more or simply be something else. The scary thought is that the intent is to use it to jump even longer distances in time or span universes. I guess there are a few other possibilities, but those involve possibilities that could result in the destruction of the universe. IDK...

Worst of all is that they are writing up a story using this device to be the end of the show
